My Cod Fisheries & Grill in Kirklees

we were disappointed today sadly. the order was late, the delivery driver certainly wasn't in a rush. chips were dry and didn't seem very fresh. nothing was as hot as I'd expect. previously we have had better experience but it felt like our order had been in a car for quite while before arriving.

Food was delicious, portions are generous, driver apologised for being late despite being perfectly on time

all my fish and chips were soggy and underdone. did not enjoy at all. won't be coming back.

Food was very late. Turned up well after the original and pushed back delivery time. Cold by the time it arrived. Fish was OK but the rest was poor. A real shame.

I regularly order Fish and Chips from here and everytime they are just lovely, not had anything missing or problems at all. Great food and service.

not good at all paid for a large received a medium fish and chips. cold food when it arrived and I mean cold. the chips were still hard and not cooked and the sausage tasted of blue cheese !

I order from them on uber eats and since you can’t make a review on there I decided to do it here. if you’re new, don’t get from here. I don’t know if it was a bad day or not, but the fish I ordered was half cooked - the batter looks horrible, it’s dough and the fish looks anemic, not nice and golden and crispy like fish from a fish and chip shop should be, it was horrible. my first bite and I spat it out. the chips are only mid (sub par) with some of them being mushy and cold and some just being okay. ordered from the kingfisher which are my usual place just minutes after receiving my order. maybe this place is usually good, but I will say whoever made the fish today on wednesday the 4th of december needs to be trained or fired, horrible food today.

Peas awful, fish batter soggy. Fish nice, curry sauce nice , chips nice and scraps missing.

I ordered a battered sausage and cheesy chips…both items were cold plus the sausage had a funny taste and the chips had 0 amount of cheese!!!was just plain cold pale chips overall a bad experience but on the plus side the delivery time was great! Avoid!!!

Fish tasted like one you buy frozen from Iceland, chips was white. Wouldn’t recommend, wasted nearly £20

Not ordered here for a couple months but last time I had it it was great, the battered sausage was pale and honestly disgusting, it had a sweet taste and didn’t taste anything like meat… all the food I ordered tasted odd, couldn’t eat anything but the chips

Chips good, peas gorgeous, sausage ok, fish good but the batter wasnt crispy enough, a little on the soggy side.

Lovely fish and chips and curry sauce was superb also plus fast delivery.

Masala fish was cooked nicely but there was a raw spice flavour. Chips were okay. Staff was very helpful and kept the tables clean and tidy.

there was a mistake with my order but it was sorted immediately. Fantastic service. Roll on next time. mmmmm

Nice fish, nice chips, but the masala fish was too hot and not battered as we are used to.

The fish itself is really nice but the chips were awful! I wouldn’t even call them chips actually it was horrendous I didn’t eat them so waste of money the gravy is nice and thick very flavoured but useless without the chips

fish and chips was more like a small kids portion. definitely not worth £7.80. the few chips they was, was thin and hard

the batter on the fish and sausages is so thick it might as well be pancake batter. and the sizes are appalling in what world is a large fish and chips 2 medium/1 large spud worth of potato ?? and that ignoring how pathetic the fish was in size. i have ordered both large and regular fish from here there is no difference. spend your money elsewhere.

Delivered quickly and was still warm . Chip butty was nice. The curry sauce was okay but not the best and the mushy peas was the worst I’ve probably ever tasted.

The meal was lukewarm and I still had bones in my fish, almost. Choked…. But the fish was cooked nice :)

Food was good but curry sauce was slightly disappointing with solid lumps in it. Would definitely try again though.

Made a large order for me and my work mates. Made on time and to a good standard. The guy working even gave us a couple of drinks free of charge and dips too.

My fish had hardly any batter on it, only got half a pot of curry and the chips were not cooked enough so hard. The order was also late so was cold by the time it arrived.

The kebab was excellent, full of flavour.

For the quality we got, it's massively overpriced. Portion size is okay, but considering it's barely edible, I won't sing praise for it. Chips - half of the chips were extremely dry, the other half soggy. Quite impressive, really. Fish - smaller than I expected, but that's probably for the best. Crust was greasy and had texture of wet cardboard, fish itself wasn't too bad, but nothing to write home about. Not ordering from here again. Delivery time was great though. :)

We got Fish, Chips, Battered Sausage & Curry Sauce. Everything was great apart from the Curry Sauce which was cold, nothing that 2 mins in a pan couldn't sort

The worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. Cold, soggy and tasteless. The fish on its own was abysmal - tiny and all damaged and broken with hardly any batter. Never again. Terrible food. Disappointing as used to be good from here but won’t be using again.

Possibly The worst fish and chips I have ever had. The thinnest piece of fish and the batter was just soggy and horrible. The chips were like they had been stood for hours. Even the t cake was hard.

Very poor quality ,greasy paid extra for cod was the size of a birdseye freezer fish. Very very small scallops 2 for 1.80 size of the top of a can and drenched in grease. Will NOT be ordering from here again

There should be a way to ask for no salad in a cheeseburger on your menu without having to put a note, forgot to put a note and had to remove the salad ourselves We use another takeaway and they have a “no salad” option that you can select directly from the food menu

Very generous portions and nice fish. A little cold, but they had a distance to travel.

Asked if the delivery could be brought early despite selecting 16.10 as the time, they were fine with that and it came 30 mins early. They didn’t have any Pepsi 1.5 ltr bottles left so they ring me up to see if they were okay to send a Coca Cola 1.5 ltr bottle instead. I was fine with that. This place offers good customer service on a regular basis.

Food was drowned in oil. Chips tasted stale. Not the best

My scallops were extremely oily and I paid extra for cream on my cheesecake but didn't get it. Apart from that the food was really good and arrived on time.

Only reason I'm putting this 4 star is because they let a few young guys play music on the TV they had and it had way too much profanity which I didn't personally like

I decided to give a new place a try & I have genuinely never been more let down. All of the paper that everything turned up in was caked in grease/oil. The fish was cooked well, but the chips however were extremely greasy & inedible, also the salt & vinegar couldn't be tasted. I understand the driver was stuck in traffic & that is not his fault, but waiting an hour and then being greeted with greasy paper & good was really disheartening. Unfortunately I will not be ordering from here again.

Was updated around 14.30-14.35pm that food was with delivery driver. Waited outside. Food did not turn up until 15.10 with the excuse that he only had 1 delivery driver, and that they were slammed for delivery. Then told me food should still be hot, as he'd only left the takeaway 5 minutes before. . . . . Won't order from here again.
