MUST Wine Bar St Albans in St Albans

Fabulous little wine bar in St Albans. They have many wines by the glass so is a great place to try some good quality wines. We also ate and had some small plates to share and they were also excellent Will definitely be back

Having had an unexpectedly large lunch, we decided to visit this wine bar for a light evening meal. None of the more expensive wines on the list appealed to us, so we opted for the cheapest red wine on the menu. This was out of stock so we went for the next cheapest bottle which ended up costing over £38 including the service charge. To eat we had a fish plate of smoked salmon and trout, which was fine. The worst aspect of our visit was the freezing cold temperature. We sat by one of the two portable heaters which didn’t help much, by the time we left we couldn’t feel our feet.

Wine nice. Service fine. Music terrible (unless you like Frank Sinatra). Toilets - RANK!!!!! The ladies toilets was just horrible. The seat didn’t actually stand up so when I went to the loo I had a loo seat resting on my back. The bin lid was missing. Loads of empty toilet rolls on the floor. It was horrible and not what you expect for a place that charges so much and is trying to be “high class”. Absolutely disgusting 🤮

A great place to visit. Polite friendly and interested staff, Superb champagne taster flights, and a lovely bar menu including caviar. we loved it.

We had a really lovely evening. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the food was delicious and the wine was really good. We were after a different experience to just going out for dinner and it was exactly that. Definitely recommend

We are spoilt to have 2 superb wine bars in St Albans (must and bishops cave). Even more so that they offer a different - yet excellent - experience. Must is a “must” for couples looking for a relaxed and quality place for wine and snacks. We came here the day we moved to St Albans and have been back many times since. Extremely knowledgable and friendly staff in a great setting.

We keep coming back because it's such a lovely bar. The staff is lovely and experts, the wine experience is incredible, we taste wine all over the world in a very cosy and elegant ambiance. I definitely recommend this place.

What a wonderful atmosphere in this classy wine bar. I have taken several friends here and they have all been impressed. The service is faultless: attentive yet not intrusive and very friendly. Superb selection of wines, gins etc, beautifully served. Excellent cold platters of food.

Very disappointing! Given a table in which felt like a store cupboard! If I book a table at a bar I want to enjoy the social Aspect and atmosphere,but instead was stuck in a little room down stairs… depressing and disappointing..

Amazing experience at Must wine bar, Matthew was the perfect host and recommended great wine pairings. Food was excellent and me and my partner were very much appreciative of everything he did for us. Great selection of wines and food to compliment the palette. Will be returning many times. For myself, customer service is one of the most important aspects of an establishment. This establishment has it nailed! Recommended for a top notch evening.

While ambling around the area recently, we popped into MUST Wine Bar. The manager was there to help us to a table. He provided us with their wine list, but offered his assistance. (The menu is intimidating if you're trying to make a quick decision.) The focus of this establishment is wine. There is no cocktail list, and the food menu is limited to nibbles / tapas type of dishes. The wine the owner selected for us was reasonably priced and outstanding. We took the chicken liver pate to eat which was also very good. I can imagine it would be good to return for a proper wine tasting at some stage.

Pleasant cosy venue. Good & interesting wine list - albeit pricy. Food expensive for what it is. Having a yapping dog is not acceptable. Since when were dogs allowed in a premium food & beverage venue? Entirely put us off & will not return. A country pub understandable - not an expensive wine bar. Not right and not fair to customers who don’t like dogs - and serving food & expensive drinks. A shame it was spoilt in this way.

Food was good but bread was not fresh, pork pie was a bit dry, service quite slow and they had run out of napkins!! Also a lady carrying a bag of rubbish walked through the bar around 9.30pm. Not v professional in my opinion. Wine list was extensive and very good.

We visited Must last night for a private wine tasting for a birthday celebration. Prior to the evening Wade and his team contacted us to curate the perfect evening and craft a fantastic selection of wines to suit the vastly conflicting tastes amongst our group. As such we had what felt like a very bespoke experience with lovely food platters (which just kept coming) to accompany the excellent wine selection. Wade’s explanation of the wines & where they are from felt like talking to a friend rather than being schooled and we were delighted that he promoted local UK producers too. We all had a very relaxed evening and will definitely go back again.

Tried to have a glass with a friend for my birthday and they barely talk to you, and I know is covid times, but when a client is willing to go to your bar you should speak in a proper way. Disappointing.

My friend and I accidentally had the best English sparkling wine here! We were served by two lovely and welcoming guys. They were very knowledgeable and very friendly. We will definately return!

Our first visit since opening and definitely will not be our last. Beautiful setting, attentive staff and perfect choice of wines or whatever your tipple. Just wished we didn't have dinner booked so early as we'd have stayed longer.. there's always next time!
