Mussarat's Restaurant in Manchester

So sad to be leaving a negative review but quite disappointed with the experience. The ‘special’ biryani tasted off by a day or two and the lasagna seemed to be cooked from frozen! Overpriced and overrated.

Such a beautiful food and lovely cooperative staff always makes so much delicious food dishes same our Pakistani traditional food. Highly recommended

Customer service was zero, we had to ask for menus after getting table. We literally asked couple of times and staff was not sure what to do. Food taste was not authentic at all. Waste of money and I end up going in hospital next morning. Had food poisoning. Worst experience ever

I fell ill right after visiting their restaurant during eid ul fitr week. The prawn cocktail and palak paneer did not taste fresh. The service was very slow too. Only one server and the food arrived late.

Amazing service and delicious food - quick and tasty!

The food was average. Additionally, I think they should clearly indicate which items are complimentary and which ones are chargeable. They served us poppadoms as a starter, but we were surprised to see an extra £5 charge for 3 poppadoms on the bill.

First time visiting this place and I’ll definitely be back again! The lamb chop starter was good but the mains were even better. I got the chicken karahi and would definitely recommend it. The food was all fresh and hot. The service was also great, our waiter Khan attended to our every need.

We visited to celebrate Pakistan Independence Day and have dinner. The food was average, but the experience was dampened by one staff member. He was a British-born Pakistani who expressed negative sentiments about the celebration, saying, "Go and celebrate in Pakistan." It was disheartening to witness someone from the same heritage displaying such hostility toward others celebrating their country. I understand we're in the UK, but it’s sad to see someone reject their own roots and show disdain for their own people.

Had the mixed platter and chicken fillet burger meals, were better than I expected. However the chicken fillet burger and a sauce that tasted very perfumy. The burger was nice but it wouldve been better without that particular sauce. The mixed grill was really nice, lamb chops were excellent. Really enjoyed them. It had chicken wings, the kebabs were also tasty.

Mussarat's Restaurant - Takeaway food - Rusholme, Manchester A Big Disappointment!... Went to Mussarat's yesterday for an evening meal with family. We were greeted and taken to our seats quickly. A variety of meals & drinks were ordered and the food was received in around 25mins which is roughly expected in Rusholme. The quality of the food was Extremely Disappointing!.. Mix Grill was a bit 'dry' and curry's were just 'passable' for Rusholme standards. The rice given was Awful! (dry & still hard with no taste). The customer service received was good but others in our group felt as though we were being rushed to order the food. We were also offered a plate of Popdoms which we accepted, but in hind-sight probably not worth it - It reminded me of my experience of Rusholme back in the 80s/90s when most Takeaways/Restaurants would offer these. I also noticed that there were many unoccupied/empty seats in the restaurant which is usually a sure sign that things may not be so great here! I would recommend Mussarat's Owners have a closer look at the QUALITY of their food that comes out of the kitchen and ask themselves > WOULD THEY EAT IT?? In comparison - I was in Torros Restaurant the week before also in Rusholme where my experience of the food received was Much Better - I would give Torros a 8 out of 10 (8/10). My Overall Score at Mussarat's Restaurant is: 2 out of 10 (2/10)

We went here yesterday for some food, when we walked in, we were immediately greeted and taken to our table, where we were asked what we wanted to drink, the prices of the food and drinks were very good and everything was perfectly priced, the service was absolutely incredible and the staff were very kind and didn't approach us during our conversation. The toilets were extremely clean, which is something you don't usually get at an Indian restaurant. Would recommend to anyone wanting the authentic Indian food but not wanting to go to a street café, we would 100% go again! Keep up the great work 👍

The gentleman khan looked after me and family made sure we wasn't near the windows as it was hot outside and most definitely the best jalfrezi I've ever had

First time visited was a bit skeptical as its a new establishments. The interior was modern and bright. The staff are friendly however who outshines everyone is Mr Khan. Lovely personality brilliant host, really made our experience delightful. Food was 10/10 especially the seekh kebab lamb chops chicken karahi. Definitely will visit again

I visited here yesterday evening. I have been here 2/3 times in the past and had good experiences... i ordered the sirloin steak. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare - it was cooked to well done and was difficult to eat as it was very chewy. The garlic sauce tasted like butter! You could see the butter on the top of the sauce! it was very watered down and lacked flavour. I've never had such a poor steak. They give you standard fries with your steak and not steak fries.no veg either! The second item was the half peri chicken with chips. The chicken was so dry and was very difficult to cut into. It was a nice flavour but it was clearly over cooked. The starters were nice and cooked well. Overall I will never come back. Such a waste of money! If you want steak or chicken there are much better restaurants nearby!

Came here from Newcastle for a pit stop to re-energize, was left with regret. Ordered dynamite prawn + sheekh kebab, curry, rice, 2x naan, and then lasagne. Which by the way all came to close to £60 The starters were average, they were okay, a bit tight on the portions of the dynamite prawns considering we were paying close to £9 The lasagne looks like it had been dropped onto the plate from 6 feet high, and the naan which was meant to be keema and cheese, was pretty much plain. The curry was average but the whole meal itself was an absolute shambles, never again will I be coming here. Also note they DO NOT provide tap water, which is another scam in itself.

Went to this restaurant expecting proper Indian food. Ordered palak paneer which was average, naan was good, the mango lassi was the worst though! It ruined the entire experience. As you can see from the pics it was just watery , with lots of ice and no taste. Went on a Sunday and place was empty, now I know why. Food was okay but never order drinks!

What a beautiful restaurant, polite and friendly staff, the food was delicious, from the kebab starters and chicken karahi, and fluffy Naan bread to finish off the meal with a desi cup of tea, which hit the spot. Thanks for a lovely evening. The food was great

We came down to Manchester for the day and stumbled upon this amazing restaurant. We were greeted by Khan who took amazing care of us from start to finish. The food was some of the best I’ve ever had and would definitely travel back down just to come here again !! Special mention for the lamb nihari and lamb karahi 11/10

Me and my friends came to Mussarats all the way from Birmingham and it was definitely worth it! The service from Khan and the rest of the staff was outstanding from the get go and the atmosphere was lovely. We had the mixed grill, the lamb nehari and the lamb karahi and everything was perfect, will definitely visit again soon!

Absolute basic food. Nothing special at all. Mix grill was terrible £20 for 3 shish kebabs and couple of pieces of chicken and disgusting red coloured wings. Portion size for curries a rip off. No taste in curries. Just a lot of onions and tomato. Drinks £3 a can of coke. Waste of money. I’m surprised why it has good reviews. I’m from Birmingham and if this what Manchester can offer. I give it a miss next time.

Whilst the waiters were friendly, and welcoming, it could not save the poor food we had. I would recommend they should focus on two specialities than trying to cover too many basis. From Chinese, to Burgers, curries, to pasta. The quality tends to nose dive when there is such a vast amount of cuisine options. There were 8 of us who went to eat and majority did not enjoy the food.

Would definitely come here again and definitely recommended. We ordered seekh kebabs, curries, sides- everything came in good time and presented well. The curries especially the chicken karahi was absolutely delicious, we all enjoyed it. Portion of everything was decent too. Service was excellent, prompt, attentive and the restaurant itself looked appealing, nice decor and importantly clean.

I am so disappointed with the food at this place. We did a random walk in to try it. And what a waste of money. We got a sizzler for £20 untouched because the lamb chops are so salty kebabs are so dry wings a boiled in water with food colouring and dipped in sauce. We also got peri peri chicken. The chicken is disgusted. It’s not even peri peri. Thank the lord I didn’t order a curry. Please don’t waste your time and money. We spent a whopping £60/£70 for 2 adults and 2 children. Oh and he ordered chicken burger for kids which they shared. But still didn’t finish it.

One of my ever worst experiences. Very small portions compared to the prices. For the starter, we ordered portions of salad and hot wings; the salad was a few onion slices, 2 tomato slices and 2 cucumber slices. There were 5 tinny hairy precooked wings on a plate that were just warmed up before they bring them to us. The chicken masala was only 4 small pieces of chicken dipped in a sweet sauce. I asked to make our dishes mild because of my chicken but the mixed grill was hot, far beyond expectations. First and last time, please do not waste your money and time.

Outstanding service very very nice food especially the starters. Lamb chops and chicken tikka the best I’ve ever had also the steak nice and juicy. Must try whenever in Manchester. You won’t be disappointed.

Used to love coming here when it was Lal Qila - their chicken karahi was delicious. Unfortunately, it's not so great now. Since it became Mussarats the food isn't upto scratch. We decided to try it again after a good 4 years but I have to say it's still not the best. I ordered a peri peri burger which was drenched in mayonnaise and ketchup - making it difficult to eat. The chicken karahi was very mild eventhogh we asked for it to be spicy. The service was good and it's a nice atmosphere - child friendly. They don't sell alcohol which is a bonus but maybe could offer a variety of other fizzy drinks other than coke, pepsi etc.

A nice clean restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious cooked to perfection and was cooked very well. Would highly recommend the mix grill the staff are very attentive to your needs and overall it is reasonably priced.

Food was okay in terms of quality and value for money. We ordered Lahori chicken handi on the bone thinking we would get half chicken but instead we got 5 small pieces of wings 1 niblet and sauce, asked the waiter that this is not what I expected to get, waiter took the curry and came back with 3 small pieces of chicken pieces boneless added with some sauce. Thinking he had rectified the mistake. We also ordered lamb steak which was very dry and hard and the only option you got with it was one of these either chips or fried rice or vegetables, that was the options compared to other places where I’ve had steak before you get mash, chips and vegetables as standard then if you wanted extra then there is a cost to it. Overall not good for the dining in experience. If you eat in please make sure you check the prices and what your being charged for especially if you not ordered it and it was placed on your table thinking it’s standard as part of your meal but then your charged for it. As of me I won’t be returning soon

The food was not nice at all. If you are used to eating good tasty food this place is not for you. The lasagne was supposed to be their special. No not really. As a whole I would never eat there again

Food was amazing. We tried the lamb karabi and chicken manchurian. Both were 10/10. The naans were soft and fluffy, honestly best naans I’ve ever tried Staff were very helpful and friendly, we felt welcome from the minute we stepped in to the minute we left. There is a whole load of options to choose from and you can’t go wrong with any of them. Definitely recommend

DO NOT GO THERE! There was a reason they had an empty dining hall even on a weekend night, when you can’t find a two person table n any other restaurant in curry miles… Food quality and taste was below average, food was cold, even Tandoori roti were cold and hard to chew!!! Portion was extremely low in quantity. Prices were disproportionately and unreasonably high, all famous restaurants give double the amount per portion in this price. Only good thing was the attitude of the serving staff…

We traveled from Newcastle to eat there on eid day but Grilled chicken was rotten and smelled and order was delayed for hours. No taste in anything. kids didnt eat anything.

Impeccable service and wonderful food. Very sweet people. It was extremely busy due to Eid and thousands of people were in the street. The restaurant was complete full and busy. I asked if there perhaps was a table for one. It is always a bit uncanny to go eat out alone, especially when a lot of people are waiting. The man at the entrance was extremely welcoming and said that it was good I had come, that one person counts the same as fifteen. I am very grateful for this very hospitable attitude and of course for all the wonderful food that was served. Thank you!
