Mushtaqs Cafe in Birmingham

Lovely food, great menu choices, friendly service, seating indoors and outdoors (sheltered), food came quickly and in large, well-presented portions. Recommend the premium Pakistani breakfast and the French toast. Omelette brunch wrap is also really tasty.

Great service great meals loved the kathlame always spot on.

On the Google time mentioned 9am I just arrived and the shop is closed very disappointed I travelled 16miles time is 10:20am

I had a breakfast there very first time and it was so lovely. They do proper Asian Pakistani loaded breakfast. Clean and tidy space with great breakfast.I would must recommend it. Thanks

Was told 15 mins for collection on the phone. In the end it took more than 40 mins. No apology or acknowledgment from the staff. They seemed not to care. It has happened twice now. Will most likely not order from here again.

Very good place for a delicious breakfast. Was not so oily. Parathas was nice.

I had Pakistani breakfast. Food was nice but it was so cold in the cafe. Staff were friendly. Cafe displays were empty.

The Pakistani breakfast was absolutely tremendous. The quality of food here is top notch. The staff were lovely and I can't wait to come back.

My first visit to the Mushtaq's cafe. The cafe itself had limited seating and it was cold. We weren't given menus upon being seated. The seats were very uncomfortable. Waited like 30 minutes to get our samosa chaat. The the portion size was ok but definitley overpricdd for what it was. The chicken samosa's were dry and stale. The staff member did claim they were fried daily but this obviosuly wasnt true given the quality of the samosa. They were not fresh and were on display which makes me question how long they had been sitting on display for ?

Right so waiting 30 minutes for food ,which came and was warm not hot .Teas didn't arrive we where told they where make fresh and would be another 10 minutes.15 minutes later we where told another 10 minutes.We asked for a refund on the tea and left....

Excellent breakfast - tasty, well-presented and very reasonable price. Good service. Karak chai is very good. Paratha optionmuch better than puri.

Always love the Pakistani breakfast, dummy live in Birmingham, always have a Mushtaqs breakfast when we are here.

The food was tasty at a reasonable price. We ordered omelettes, chana and parathas. Will be back :)

We were really forward to having an evening family neal,, we bought katlama most of the filling contained whole cumin and coriander seeds which were not pleasant to tge taste... barely any chicken/meat.alu tiki had some flavour and were too mushy and slimey.... Very disappointed and spoilt our meal completely.. I believe i wont be going there for food

Ordered breakfast takeout to cater for post-wedding guests and experienced outstanding service by the chef sister Fariha. She was a pleasure to deal with, alway friendly and cheerful, plus cooked the tasty breakfast that was prepared as agreed. The halwa, Chanda and puri were superb, as was the omelette. Glad I opted to go with this cafe, as I was concerned that it is associated to the Mushtaq sweet centre. The staff here at the Cafe are far more pleasant, and the cleanliness is as one would expect. Overall recommend the Pakistani breakfast from Mushtaq cafe, thought can’t comment on the other food on the menu. A big thank you to Fariha for making the experience so positive.

Lovely cafe. Good customer service. Premium Pakistani breakfast was delicious with channa sooji halwa and we had the paratha which was a well made traditional lacha paratha. Good portion of pancakes and were able to accommodate request to add chocolate spread.

Their food is good (though not much choice for the kids as most of the food is way too spicy for me let alone the kids). Lovely little cafe. When it first opened the place was always busy, service was brilliant and staff very friendly. Last few times I've been I have been so disappointed. I actually feel.sorry for the staff. Knowing how.busy the cafe is, theirs not.enough staff. The poor staff.members are rushed off their feet trying to keep up.but they can't. This time I went there was complaint after complaint, I had to wait 15 minutes to be seated although there were free tables, 40 minutes for food. The table.next to.me had raw.crepes and another lady complaining how.she had to.wait for.45 minutes for a halwa. I Don't want to.stop going here but if the owner doesn't start.employing more staff to improve service, he will.lose a lot of.customers, including myself. It was hard to.see the staff run around like that...I don't want to.see that again.

We went to have late breakfast and arrived at 3:18pm. A waitress came over and told us we stop serving breakfast at 3:30 , and I politely told her it's it's 3:18 and we re ready to order. She said there s no time 🙄 left. So I went inside and requested from the gentleman with beard ,if we could be served. He said no he has to make paratha for tomorrow. I had to get my family of 5 to get of the table and leave . I have a restaurant myself and have made it my policy to never refuse a table if they are seated ,even if it is after closing time. Because I know how it feels .But most people just Can't Be Arsed!

Wish I could put 0. Customer service was awful and most of the staff weren't friendly. Food took ages to come and when we tried to order something else they said we're busy and only had 1 chef (even though the restaurant was basically empty )so we had to have food from the display shelf. We also ordered French toast which was dry and we asked for nutella but barely got a drizzle of it. The other French toast we ordered didn't have the granola we asked for from the menu. They told us 30 mins after we ordered that they didn't have the menu item so we had to order something else and the new thing we ordered had a lower price, they didn't even give us the change. Management needs improvement and there were too many issues with this place and I would not recommend this place or go back again.

Very poor service! Took a take out, and had half of the order missing. Had paratha missing and I ordered puris but got none, Went back was told I was charged for extra halvas instead of puris and was made to wait 20mins. Never again Check everything before you leave the place.

Good place for a breakfast. Well priced and good quality food.

Looked fabulous and also tasted great. No overpowered by spice or chillies. Great menu with plenty of choice. All freshly made with a reasonable wait of 15min. 5 stars on this one.

Good god doesn't even deserve a one star food tasted stale never eat from Mustaqs again I don't understand why this branch is so popular even the katlamas are nasty I rate saleems they were the best of the best sadly got closed down :(

We were at this place for breakfast a few days ago, (if I had the option to give a 0 I would). Most of my family including myself suffered with food poisioning the following day after visisting this place, we all literally vomitted 3-4 times each now on the trots. They seriously need to sort their hygeine out, or for the food board to intervene, absolutely disgraceful place making people ill!@

Food was average, there are better desi breakfast places in Birmingham on ladypool road and Alumrock road.

Very bad service. Staff doesn’t know what they doing. Rude staff . We waited for our breakfast 45min and when breakfast came it was cold. Not happy

Had the chicken with paratha. Looked nice, but the some of the chicken was raw! Was also quite fatty chicken and the masala didn’t have any flavour at all. Didn’t end up eating it after a few bites which is rare for myself. Much better options such as Taste of Pakistan which I initially doubted as not many mention it but just found out to be very nice.

First visit to the cafe bearing the same name as it's more famous older sibling the sweet centre. Good menu offering breakfast, snack, lunch and dessert options. Portion sizes are generous and well presented. More could be done to improve the eat in ambience, it feels a bit work in progress and small things like empty display counters give the sense of an incomplete experience. Would recommend on the basis of the food.

Arrived at 45 minutes before closing time and was refused entry. Poor service - store was not busy either. Waste of time travelling. Website states it closes at 4.

Came at 2 o clock this Sunday and had the best hospitality. They told me it would be a a 5 minute wait for the 10 samosas to go I ordered because they were making them fresh which I didn’t mind at all. The two girls were incredibly nice and complimented my shoes and due to the wait gave me a small chai on the house. I will be returning. Lovely staff!

Was skeptical about *some* reviews, but it actually bangs. Deffo recommend the premium Pakistani (yah) breakfast, it was so filling and good! Samosa chaat was a healtheeee portion, so filling! Well done 5* first class yaar

Ordered the premium pakistani breakfast and also the Malaysian fried chicken kathi rolls. The premium pakistani breakfast was lovely although it was quite small for the price you pay. Nonetheless, still delicious 😋. The Malaysian fried chicken kathi roll however, was very bland and just had no taste or flavour at all, despite the sauce on top.

Quite expensive food Staff are kind I loved the malaysian chicken but not the shawarma roll Their samosa chaat and spring rolls were not fresh and very oily, not crispy quite disappointed Cards accepted Parking outside is free for one hour monday to saturday Their opening hours are 9am to 6pm not up until 8pm as stated

Cute little cafe. Food was lovely, however I do think that the portion size for the price is a bit much. We got premium Pakistani breakfast which was lovely. Chana had a bit of a kick which we really enjoyed. Also got French toast which was really nice but only one French toast.. which was about £7. Usually you get 2 pieces for that price everywhere I’ve been. Place is really small and does get busy on weekends. We also got the Malaysian fried chicken which was very basic and bland. No taste whatsoever. Service was good and fast. We really enjoyed the karak chai.

Best place for breakfast, staff were very friendly. The food was amazing, best desi breakfast place around. The only gripe is that there aren't many seats so you may have to wait but it's worth the wait (it was Sunday morning). Will definitely be visiting again.

Underwhelming, overpriced offerings with lack of attention to detail. The omelette paratha wrap was underseasoned therefore rendering it tasteless. The falafels were thick, stodgy and overseasoned making them unpalatable. Karak Chai? I beg to differ. My first and last visit.

Very tidy and love the interior it's so nice....just wish the trees were trimmed I feel like this place would be alot more successful if people could actually spot it.....very polite staff.

The menu is pricey, Desi breakfast is a rip off, 4 paratas for £10.00!! You can buy a 10kg bag of flour for £7.00 Will not be recommending friends

Nice ambience, good food and friendly service. Highly recommended for a snack or breakfast as in our case. The chai was perfect.

It was busy when we got there but because the weather was nice, we decided to sit outside. The staff members were friendly. All of them really. And helped us recommend different items on the menu. Great fresh taste. Fresh ingredients used and even the orange juice was freshly pressed in front of us. Overall has an amazing experience here and a good time out at this place.

Food - poor Service - extremely poor Value for money - extremely poor Ambience/ decor - cheap, uncomfortable They keep their tea in bottles in a sink... then microwave to warm it up i presume. See picture attached. They didn't have a four cup cup holder for tea, pretty poor for a tea shop! This resulted in them stacking cups in a bag which all split in the car and over my wife's legs. Spring rolls were horrid.

Went to Mushtaqs Cafe yesterday evening (18/09/2021) with my friends and what can i say the food was just delicious, great the atomsphere and the staff were very freindly and nice. I would highly recommend it if you want a nice snack and a chill out relaxing time with friends and family. I will be definitely going there again. Tariq
