Just visited tonight parmo was excellent and other family members enjoyed their meals superb pub service was also excellent 👌🏼

Didn't have food,alcohol selection poor. Menu restricted Will not rush back here. Beer garden ok. Needs garden tidying.

Welcoming and warm environment. Family friendly and lovely home cooked food. Dogs are welcome which is lovely. The staff are chatty and friendly. There is a pool room and darts and TVs throughout the pub. The outdoor seating area is nice

Stopped of passing this old fashioned Inn this afternoon .Quite surprised by the modern entertainment inside right up my street. Great choice of beverages. Staff where great in giving us samples of ales.Had some food which was all home cooked top marks .Defo call on again very hospitable and welcoming.highly recommended 👌👍 😀 😉

Large pub was quiet when we arrived Sat afternoon but we got a very warm welcome from staff and then customers arrived who were also friendly. Overall a good experience and not bad prices either!

Went early new year 2024, seemed an effort for the man (landlord or just bar staff?) to smile although the lady was much more friendly.

I've had better.....not sure if I'd go back!! Had a chicken burger....tiny bit of chicken on the roll...think we got the chips left at the bottom of the bag...not worth talking about. Best thing on the plate was onion rings. Non memorable experience.

The staff is exeptional. I forgot my wallet at the table. They went out of their way and informed me even via Facebook that i left my wallet. I was so greatful because i travelled back to Germany the next day. THANKS A LOT.

Unbelievably bad mannered owner came rushing over to us as soon as we walked in the door and told us we had to leave as there were no tables left. Absolutely no need to behave in that way, very poor customer service. Thanks, won't be back....

Arrived on Wednesday at 12.00 the website said it was open but wasn't, so we went to the Turf. A wee treat needed to the website.

Not welcoming. Hardly any customers. Last orders at 9.50 pm. Not a pleasant environment to enjoy a beer in.

Visting friends in Carlisle we came here for sunday lunch and the food is worth the visit alone . Very Friendly staff just ashame the place was near empty certainly worthgoing if your looking for nice food

I just live round the corner & not saying that I'm a regular but have been going to that pub for many years. The staff are lovely but the current Landlady comes across as very lazy, rude & borderline agressive. I won't be putting another penny over that bar while she is still there!

The food is cheap by today's standards - but also completely average by today's standards. Female owner is temperamental and occasionally volatile. Won't be back to walk on eggshells.

A tasty Sunday lunch enjoyed in a clean environment. The staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. An impressive first visit, I'll be happy to repeat 🙂

Discrimination against disabled children the owner scream shouted and pointed in my 7 yr old autistic brothers face for walking around said it upset her dog which was upstairs then blamed parents for not telling him off then carried on to have ago at his 10 yr sister before parent involved AVOIDE

Wonderful "old school' pub. Amazing food, friendly staff, excellent prices. Will be our secret hideaway when family come up to stay. This place is for me and the wife only 😁 Highly recommend to everyone.

Love this pub. Management and staff are so upbeat and welcoming. The food and drink is great and the price is right.

Lovely traditional pub, with a very friendly landlady.

Went out for a random Sunday lunch. There was plenty of out door seating area covered and open for the sun. Food was excellent and the staff were super friendly. Reasonably priced food and drink too. Definitely worth a visit.

As a person who has been in the premises on a previous visit, I have to say that I cannot say anything good about the premises but I have to say that I cannot say anything bad about the premises, so I am open minded on the premises at this moment in time.

Staff friendly, homemade chips were lovely.

*under new management* New management in from July-ish and the immediate improvement is obvious. Its been cleaned and has a new menu (could do with better quality menu's though), the food is 'proper', as in, it's home made and home cooked bar food, just what you would expect. There's also a small selection of specials. Really great to see the local being brought back to standard.

Bit disappointed last time we were in. Menu not as good & prices had gone up. Also it was very cold, not as cozy sitting there eating. Staff were helpful & very pleasant though. But won't be the first place we think of eating out.

What a shame, my local pub that I have not visited for a while, has gone right down the pan! As I went to the bar I was greeted with "wot are use avin" when I ordered a cappuccino for my daughter the barmaid disappeared the kitchen to make a message then explained the coffee machine wasn't working, we paid the price for a cappachino. The manager was helping himself to a pint and crisps and wasn,t the slightest bit interested. Sunday afternoon and the pub was empty, no atmosphere and poor service we had just come from a drive in the country and paid 80 pounds for a gorgeous meal at Castle Carrock, thank God we didn't chose the museum, it looks like the pub will go to the wall like so many others, shame the brewery don't seem to care.

2 of our meals we couldn't eat, they were disgusting, when asked if we could have a refund, the manager said they've never had a complaint before, and they had served the food already so wont refund it even though we didn't eat it. Gave us 3 plates of nachos after charging us for 4 but only told us AFTER we complained it was because they ran put and could swap it for a different starter. Disgusting food, disgusting service, can not rate them low enough, next time we'll just get a takeaway since that would be cheaper too

Disappointing. No card machine, no food available and poor quality of beer. Advertising football and on this occasion no sound on the only tv working. Another screen not working and another unable to change channel. Not ideal at 5.30 on a Saturday.

Been to my nieces birthday party and the museum pub had a warm atmosphere, great buffet and reasonable drink prices. Highly recommended.

Quite mediocre. Not busy but staff seemed to forget our drinks order. Food ok but no steak knives. No one bothered to ask if everything was ok with the meal. No staff around when we left. Won't be rushing back.

Great pub, visited on a Sunday afternoon about 5pm. Sold out of Sunday dinners, which must prove how good they are. However bar menu still available and I had an amazing gammon and chips and my girlfriend a lovely fish and chips. Very friendly bar staff, well kept draft beer (Greene King and Ruddles on tap when I visited). Lovely sun trap beer garden. Recommended!

Went today for Valentine's day and birthday and was the worst experience in our lifetime.never been placed in a more awkward situation as today is the most romantic day of the year,yet was let to be seated right in the middle of a wake just before there morners.had arrived.the food was also not up to anywhere near even pub grub standards 😠😡😠

Food isn't as good as it used to be

I haven't been in the museum for a long time very pleased with the service had a lovely meal and the price was very good to would recommend this and will be coming again the staff were very pleasant .

Sorry but this place has gone pretty bad for food over the last year. Fried everything BUT overcooked! Fish dry and hard. Uninspiring meals from frozen Sad really as could have a large catchment area

UPDATE JANUARY 2017: not sure what's happened here, but there seems to have been a big staff turnover, and the food's dropped in standard a bit. It's not brilliant, and serves a purpose, but something doesn't currently sit right... staff are pretty good still, but the changeover has resulted in it losing that familiar "Cheers" feel, where the staff know you and know what you want. Reduction in my star rating from 5 to 3, and would be happy to discuss my concerns. ORIGINAL REVIEW: What's not to like? Decent beer, decent prices, decent food... Great family pub. Update 3rd October 2016: recently been refurbished top to bottom. Decor really well done, and bar area now fully separated from the main lounge and seating/eating area. Food still does the job, and even though it was really busy, service and time-to-table was excellent. A great update to a good, solid, reliable pub, and you can't really go wrong in here.

Had my 40th meal here adults enjoyed it and so did the kids
