Not my first visit, and certainly not my last. The menu caters for vegetarians and vegans, the food is consistently brilliant and the service is excellent.

Fantastic family lunch - loved the tapas menu. Great variety and almost too difficult to choose from and we ate too much for pudding. We will need to go back for that!

Superb breakfast. I had the rosti with eggs and hollandaise + prosciutto. Excellent service, lovely place and as always here, everything is of the finest quality.

Had dinner with my family on their fish and chip night. Food was good, as was service. Would definitely recommend this place.

Delicious food, made with very high quality ingredients. Very friendly & helpful staff. We would highly recommend this establishment. Sadly too far away from where we live to go every week but when we next visit the area we’ll definitely go here for a meal. We would also recommend a visit to their deli next door, the cannoli are to die for, I wish they did mail order, nudge nudge.

I don’t often write trip advisor reviews, but feel compelled to write one about our recent visit to Murrays after a fantastic meal. Seven of us (3 adults and 4 kids) visited on Saturday evening of Mother’s Day weekend. Food, atmosphere and service were all outstanding. Between us, we ate several pizzas, a few of the small dishes, the veggie sharing board, a pasta dish and some desserts. The flavours were fantastic, particularly with the smaller dishes and pizzas. Adults and kids were all equally happy. It’s not cheap (but nowhere is nowadays), but is good value for money. Highly recommend.

Up from S Devon for a couple of nights B&B. Checked TA for Supper venue. Superb buzzy vibe, lovely decor, menu and staff. All good, recommended.

The restaurant was very busy - only two waitresses but we were welcomed with a smile. we were told that one of the chefs was off sick so we expected a wait. We nibble on some delicious homemade bread and olive oil. our food was served hot and delicious again with a smile. Well worth the wait. I was honestly amazed at how well the two young women coped with all those customers never once looking flustered. we will be back.Thank you

Fantastic evening at Murray’s tonight. Divine food, very attentive and polite service. Will definitely be going there again.

We went to Murrays recently for dinner. We had the only 2 pasta dishes available from an extremely limited menu. The portions were very small, more akin to a starter, the food was boring and very tasteless, possible some of the most bland pasta dishes ever. We had a dessert each, which was 2 small scoops of ordinary ice-cream and 2 glasses of house wine. The bill, without a tip, was £67.00. This is a pretentious, outrageously expensive restaurant, which we will never return to again.

As a birthday gift we went to a Spanish night here. The staff were very friendly, and each course was explained to you before you had it. The artisan meats starter were very tasty as was the bread, followed by hake and broadbean puree then cheese, and fig biscuit - all very enjoyable.

Excellent service from the moment we walked through the door. Very friendly. The food was outstanding. The wild boar taleggio was delicious and the lasagne was first class. A couple came in for one drink between them. I think it was just to use the toilet,but they too were given first class friendliness and service. I would definitely recommend Murray’s .

I was looking forward to having Sunday Lunch here as they have a lovely deli and I used to enjoy their lunch when they were based in Bristol. Unfortunately it was very disappointing! The roast potatoes were hard and not crunchy at all. The beef was well cooked and very thin slices. The vegetables were ok, although very disappointed that there was no Cauliflower cheese! The Yorkshire pudding was probably the best thing on the plate. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place for a roast and definitely wouldn't be back! On the plus side the restaurant has a nice ambiance and the service was good.

We have been here a couple of times . Service very friendly , nice atmosphere , been both for breakfast ( couldn’t fault it ) and one of the tasting evenings . My only criticism , and it is to me very important , is when you serve hot food it need to be on a hot plate . I appreciate the evening we went was very busy , but keeping plates in a plate warmer is not difficult . Other customers might not be that bothered but I happen to be 😀 Still we will be back and perhaps next time one would be pleasantly surprised if the food is served hot on a hot plate !

This is another great find out of “The Extra Mile” book, about 10mins off the M5 and complicated to locate, large deli + restaurant, v smart and modern inside, interesting breakfast/brunch menu, we ate grilled white pears on yogurt and a bacon sandwich, all v tasty and good sized portions, excellent coffee. It was a great stop, we will be back, maybe for dinner. Thanks

We were very excited to travel from Bath to Clevedon for our first meal at Murrays of Clevedon on the evening of 21st April 2023. Although we have frequently visited Clevedon over the years, and often popped into the deli at Murrays, we never seemed to get around to eating there. On arrival there was a real buzz about the place with lots of locals and a welcoming atmosphere. We were seated and presented with the menus, which all sounded fantastic. We got even more excited. The restaurant manager came over and explained that my gluten-free option (I have a diagnosed intolerance and allergy), specifically the second course would be cooked first, to avoid being fried in the subsequent wheat containing mixture, and that the dessert would be Greek yogurt panna cotta. Hmm, Greek … in a wholly Italian restaurant … ? Not ricotta, or mascarpone, or indeed the Amalfi lemon of my partner’s dessert tart. Odd. It felt almost like the chef had forgotten, and they’d popped over to the supermarket across the road. Nevertheless, we overlooked it as the menu read like a culinary delight. The starter, a risotto was sumptuous with just the right amount of bite. Then came the second course, which was a little puzzling given the manager’s comment when we were seated. We were served pretty much as one of the last tables. Both plates being put down without comment. The waitress instantly whizzing away. Only several minutes later did I manage to catch her eye as she walked past without stopping, to ask “Can I please check that this is gluten-free?”. “Yeah” came the reply from the back of my head as she headed away. Okay, I thought, tucking into my now cold second course. Communication and attention to detail being everything. The main course, described as slow-cooked pork in milk was the least successful dish of the evening. Super-dry to the point of the texture of splintered wood, it needed both more of the delicious zesty herby pesto that accompanied it and a good dose of the reduced cooking liquor. It sounded and should have been soft and yielding, with bags of flavour; sadly, it was not. Then came the dessert: two plates of Amalfi lemon tart. Plonked down without comment. The waitress once again making herself unavailable. I had to catch her eye once again when she emerged. “I’m sorry’, I said, “I think mine is supposed to be panna cotta?”. No reply, the plate whipped away. Several minutes later, Greek yogurt panna cotta. Minus half of the supposed accompaniments, including a delicious sounding pistachio (which I love) cream. Nice enough panna cotta, but not mind-blowing. By which point we were a little deflated and rather ready to leave. Check-please. We will in most likelihood try Murrays of Clevedon again to eat, maybe on another event evening. Everyone deserves another chance, but I would seriously suggest that you check and check again if you have any intolerances or food allergies.

My friend and I enjoyed a Sunday Lunch at Murrays. The starters were unlike anything you would normally see on a menu in a Pub - and very good too. I had the roast lamb, so far, so traditional, but the twist was the vegetable selection which included roast beetroot along with leeks, parsnips and carrots and a savoury scone on the side. The roast potatoes were all they should be; crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. The sweets were beautifully presented. The cost for three courses was £30 and we felt represented good value. The staff were attentive and friendly.

Having read reviews about Murray’s I was really looking forward to our visit and expecting great things.I was disappointed, the food looked ok and tasted ok but nothing special, the pizza was dry and uninspiring. There was no atmosphere in the restaurant other than the chefs shouting in the adjacent kitchen, the staff were courteous but the place wasn’t very busy and they made no attempt to build any rapport with us which was a shame. Won’t be in a hurry to return.

Lovely Dinner - Modern Bistro style dining, with a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, very pleasant and attentive staff. We had starters, breaded aubergine chips with yogurt mayo absolutely gorgeous and crayfish tails, as mains we had the basil pesto and pine nut risotto, and the 12” Con Speck pizza, the pizza had generous tasty fresh toppings. The restaurant has good procedures in place to allow for social distancing, the staff were all wearing visors or face masks.There’s also an attached Deli shop full of delights, but as expected that’s only open during the day.

Excellent..comes with mushy peas and tartar sauce. Only available on Fridays...if you are in the area try them!

Since my last review, we have been using Murrays for fruit,veg and cheese deliveries and everything has been of exceptional quality.They are now doing Fish and Chips on a Friday, but be quick, they sell out fast.The breaded Hake was succulent and served with near perfect chips. It was served with fresh mushy peas and a wonderful chunky tartare sauce.Looking forward to next friday for a repeat.

Rather than just close the doors, Murrays have starting doing takeaways.Last week, we ordered a couple of pizzas, which were superb and in a different league to the national chains.Four days later, we had the Cottage Pie plus a superb Bread & Butter pudding.The 2 mile delivery was quick, friendly and the food was hot.When this lockdown is over, we are going to be very fat and happy!!Now, where's that menu?

Highly recommend Murray’s, especially if you are coeliac or gluten free. After hearing from so many people such good reviews I booked a table. Lovely staff and nice atmosphere. They have a separate gluten free menu with a large choice on. Really lovely food, quick service.

It's a good restaurant, with Italian food made well with really excellent ingredients, many of them sourced from the deli next door. But my pizza took a really unacceptably long time to arrive, and when it did it was fairly cold. A decent local restaurant (if I lived in the area I'd definitely go back), but a few rough edges.

Enjoyed our first visit with a group. A restaurant with a bistro style atmosphere with excellent staff, friendly and efficient. A limited but superb menu choice with all meals enjoyed by everyone, my pappaderle shin beed ragu superb.

Had lunch there - sandwich think cheese and tomato cut with razor blade - someone with me had soup of the day - quite expensive and not even any bread - when they asked for roll or bread told soup was substantial enough bread not necessary. Think they closed and opened again since but wouldn’t risk it again!

We discovered Murrays a few years ago and have since had about half a dozen lunches here, (whenever visiting Clevedon) They have invariably been enjoyable experiences with good food and friendly helpful staff. Always a nice lunchtime "buzz" - busy without being too noisy. I've been feeling a bit guilty at not getting on to Tripadvisor and giving Murrays a write-up - feeling better now!

Lovely homemade pizzas in a wonderfully light and airy restaurant - service was prompt and friendly and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. There is also a deli attached which is full of interesting produce!

Murray’s is friendly and welcoming. We have eaten here quite a few times. The food has always been good quality and value for money. We fine you need to book for evening meals, not so much for lunch.

We go regularly and whilst they have an extensive menu that is changing regularly, I nearly always go for a pizza. Why? Because they are considered by myself and all friends who have eaten here that they are the best in the region. Always good service with plenty of smiles and checks that the food is all ok. The fact that it is a regular and have never had a bad experience, means that i have no hesitation in recommending it.

Eaten previously at this establishment and really enjoyed the meal and environment. Went last night with a fairly large group of friends and again had a fantastic meal. The bream fish dish and cheesecake was superb. Will definitely be returning as this restaurant serves great food!

Having been let down elsewhere we arrived without a reservation and were lucky enough to get the last table even at 6.30pm on a Tuesday. The staff were lovely and just the right level of attentive and the food was delicious. We had chorizo/polenta, mozzarella salad and smoked trout to start and then 2 steaks and a pizza for mains. Everything was faultless! There is also a deli attached and we have used this on 2 other occasions during out stay. What an excellent business!

My husband and I went this evening for a meal together to Murray’s . We walked past it last week so thought tonight we would walk in .

Fish and chips was excellent the best but far too large lasagna I have ever eaten.The only draw back was the loos were up stairs which were not very well lit . A problem for the elderly or any disabled person both physical and sight loss.

Absolutely delicious. Light crispy and full of flavour. Rang to place the order, they were polite and helpful and it was ready when they said it would be.

As Valentine evenings somewhat special, we were really looking forward to this evening out, we were told to arrive at 7.00pm for 7.30

We were looking forward to breakfast on our first visit here but left feeling a little disappointed. The baked eggs that sounded really special: very different from items on other breakfast menus, I think the only hot veggie option, and certainly the only option without bread, toast or granola (which I would have preferred).

We had a lovely dinner. Great Italian food and a good choice of meals. Good service too. My brother had a nice pizza and my pasta was really tasty. There is a deli next door so you can take away some Italian food and wine. I’d highly recommend this restaurant.

Visited Murray's for a family meal. The restaurant was very busy with a good atmosphere. We ordered a variety of starters which everyone thought were extremely good. The quality of the ingredients was evident in all of our dishes. A selection of main courses was excellent, well cooked quality food. I shared a very good bottle of red wine that was excellent value considering the quality. What is noticeable here is the very keen pricing which is on a par with local pub food, but for far superior quality. Everyone enjoyed their meals and would return. The only reason for not awarding a 5 rating is the sometimes inattentive and un-organised service and the fact that my main was served cold (rectified very quickly and probably due to the un-coordinated service)

My partner took me here for a birthday meal. The food was really good! Starter was really fresh and really tasty, wine was also very good. Waitress told us she was I training, she was really friendly and attentive although had to check back with colleagues about some questions we had with the food but I guess this all comes with training. Would definitely go back! Thank you for a lovely evening.

Been a couple of time recently and the food is of a high standard. We even managed to negotiate a number of starters to share as a main course as they all looked so good!

We’ve been here before when it was serving coffee and cakes but this was our first time as a very sophisticated place to eat in the evening! Menu fairly compact (always a good thing) and very reasonable priced. I had the Italian tomatoes and roast peppers followed by the penne and OH had the soup and a 7”pizza. Portions were beautifully presented, piping hot and very filling but we still found room for the strawberry sundae and a home-made honeycomb ice cream. Drinks ( draught Birra Moretti ) and coffee brought the pleasant evening to a less than £60 close. Staff were pleasant and attentive (but not in an intrusive ‘how is your meal?’ way). Terrific.

Dinner/reception/party after Katie & Mike’s rehearsal. Staff were efficient, attentive while not being intrusive, polite and fun. Provided helpful suggestions for where to pick up groceries for the next day, arranged for cabs etc. The dinner surpassed anything we had enjoyed on our British Isles cruise. All in all an excellent experience.

After having the worst evening at Scoozie, we decided to try Murray’s just up the road. The staff and food was first class and will 100% be returning soon!

The birthday girl thoroughly enjoyed her Parma ham lasagne, our daughter in law her veggie pasta, our three Grandchildren and son-in law their Pizza's and I my stuffed pork cutlet. Prompt and friendly service and a wide range of beverages including pints of Moretti lager. All good, give it a try.

A lovely meal on a Saturday evening, the new menu now includes steak & chips, the palma ham & mushroom lasagne was lovely, a really nice atmosphere & if. You are lucky enough to go there on a warm evening the floor to ceiling windows will be open.

We had lunch here on recommendation and found the menu options really interesting. The food was excellent; very well presented and cooked to perfection. Staff were helpful too. Lovely to know all the ingredients were locally sourced. Their own baker produces a variety of bread for sale in the deli., attached to the restaurant and there are plenty of cheeses, meats and other specialities to buy.

Everything was superb from the initial approach to see if Murray's could accommodate us to the evening of the meal. They provided a bespoke menu for the retirement meal and were attentive to our needs. Communications with the restaurant were excellent and there was no confusion over the pre-order. On the evening of the meal, staff were attentive, polite and efficient, without being intrusive. The food was excellent and portions were very good indeed. Could not have been a better evening!

A gem of a place. It deserves its popularity and serves nicely-cooked Italian food. Service is always friendly and the adjoining Italian delicatessen is always worth a look.

Prebooked a table for 5. I had been told the roasts were good and we weren’t disappointed. We had a mix of beef and chicken all came piping hot with good veg selection. Good selection of desserts all enjoyed and friendly service too.

I have long been a customer of Murrays and have always been pleased with the standard both in the cafe/restaurant and the delicatessen, here are a family who are very proud of their undoubted expertise. We (my wife and I) went for lunch there on a Tuesday in May, Wendy who is a vegetarian had an aubergine dish and I had a 'Con Gamberi' pizza, both were delicious and so well presented too. On this occasion I did not have a camera so unfortunately cannot not show you. These main courses were accompanied by a very pleasant Sicilian red house wine. The desserts were great too, mine with very good Puglian strawberries. The temperature and ambience was fab and the staff attentive (but not over) and friendly. The bill is another nice surprise, extremely reasonable considering the standard of food, service, atmosphere and locality. In fact the only downer was nothing to do with Murrays,- like many towns these days there is not enough parking provision in Hill Road, Clevedon, - so book a table, come early and remember that you are restricted to two hours parking.

We visited for Sunday lunch for a birthday treat. The surroundings are beautiful with a lovely atmosphere. However, we thought the choice of meats available was not great. There was no chicken or turkey which are generally the most popular, especially with children. As this left only three choices, it was surprising to find a £2 supplement for beef.Those who chose lamb in our party were all very disappointed. The meat was cut very thick and was tough, everyone ended up leaving most of it. Some of us had beef which was very tasty, it was tender although perhaps could have been a little bit rarer and the roast potatoes and vegetables were cooked really well. Again the deserts were very nice and it was good to see some different ideas. Unfortunately, no one came to ask us if everything was ok when our meals were brought out as we would have complained. We still left a tip as the waiting staff were lovely. Maybe we just were there on an off day. Not a totally negative experience but I would advise checking the menu before booking.
