Called in for lunch after seeing online they had a refit done The food was excellent and the service top class!! I had the steak sandwich followed by the pavlova... the dessert was one of the best I ever had!! Def worth a visit

Great experience over the last 2 weeks... Little mix up with booking in First week Over booked Couldn't seat us... John Offered to seat us later with a free meal but we couldn't make it John Booked us in the following week Great service Great Food Great place Plus the meal was on the House Fairplay John and the Staff were top class Brilliant experience Definitely would recommend and will 100% be back

Staff very friendly, super busy. Chips undercooked, so asked for missing garlic bread included wth meal ,charged for it, took away desserts, discovered at home only top of a pavlova & few berries on one☹️ . Pity.

Haven't been to MB in about 20 years. Refurbishment looks great. Food (Sunday lunch) was fantastic. The chicken goujons starter, roast beef dinner, Dime Bar explosion were all lovely. Licensed, cosy, handy parking. Can't wait to go back.

The service here alone will make you rate it 5 stars! The food was amazing, just good tasty food. I had the large fry and my partner had the goujans. We love a goujan in NI so always hard to please but they were great. Service was amazing, lovely woman served us and then manager or potentially owner not sure, came out to speak to us after clear table etc and just really personable and chatty. They've redecorated too; such the atmosphere is really nice and chill vibes. Such a lovely place to go in north Belfast! Support local ❤️

Paid a visit to the refurbished restaurant. Lovely decor and the atmosphere was good. My meal was great but my brother ordered the fish and chips which he had eaten on previous occasions. However, this time the plate was presented with only fish and chips, nothing else. We asked the waitress if it should come with salad or garnish but she didn’t seem sure and just left us. Shortly after the proprietor asked us if everything was okay and we posed the question again. He said that the waitress was only training and that the meal should have come with garnish. He did bring us a plate of salad and coleslaw and apologised. At £16 we didn’t really think that we had got value for money as the portion of fish was about half the size of a previous one. However, you can’t judge a place on one visit so we’ll try it again soon as we like to support small local businesses.

Absolutamente hermoso. Me encanta la nueva remodelación. Ahora es mucho más acogedor. Tuvimos el menú del domingo de 3 platos @ £ 23 cada uno. Fantástica relación calidad-precio. El personal era muy amable y atento. La comida era deliciosa y servida muy caliente. Mi única queja era que había demasiada comida. Sin duda volveré y recomendaré a toda mi familia y amigos.

Called at 11.30 after standing freezing at kids football match. 4 adults & 3 kids. Had the breakfast/lunch menu. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Food, was lovely. Not to be missed!

Recently refurbished and must say it's tastefully done. Food was delicious as usual and staff very attentive. What a hidden gem in belfast for 25 years.

Just want to say a massive thank you to the staff at Murphy browns today we were there for a lovely meal but I left my handbag when we left. They phoned to let me know then dropped my bag over to my house thank yous so much it was very much appreciated

This is our go to local restaurant, it's recently obtained it's liqueur licence but you can still byo. All food reasonably priced and staff very friendly.

Little Sunday lunch but no matter when I dine here always a great meal and service. The Dime bar explosion is something else

Had heard great things about Murphy Brown's. Decided to give a try on wet Friday afternoon. Great decision, welcoming energy from the get go with John, lovely chats about the artwork in the place and bit of history behind it. Food was delicious and exactly what we were after. Desserts are a must have here! Honestly can't fault it. Already looking forward to the next visit.

Great food, great music, great service. Lovely and clean. A good choice to end our extreme day trip from Manchester to Belfast and back.

Beautiful wee restaurant and very welcoming! We love it here and always bring the family when they visit from Scotland. Not a bad word can be said about the staff pr the food.

Thank you Murphy Browns for making the end of our wedding day amazing. Booked a table with no reason given, and the staff were friendly, welcoming, attentive service and nothing too much trouble. Food was fresh, delicious, hot and really tasty. Son who has anxiety even calmed down to the relaxed atmosphere after we settled. Thank you once again for a memorable experience on such a beautiful day in our lives.

Had a meal tonight, 9 of us, took 2 friends from italy , from beginning to end it was the best experience. John was so friendly and helpful and the meal, as always, was beautiful. Murphy browns is a favourite of mine. Thanks folks

Lovely food and great price, 3 courses for £20

Went to Murphy Browns on Thursday evening with a friend. I had booked online which was so easy and quick to do. I received confirmation via email and text which was so handy. From the moment we stepped in we were made to feel very welcome. The relaxed atmosphere definitely makes the dining experience more enjoyable. We both dined from the Early Bird menu which starts at 5 pm until 6.30 pm. There was plenty of choice for such fabulous prices. One course is £13.95, Two courses £15.95 and 3 courses £17.95. I started off with breaded mushrooms with garlic mayonnaise. These were absolutely divine. Then I had the 8oz sirloin steak with saute onions and homemade chips. The steak comes with a £4 supplement and was definitely worth it too. Cooked to perfection 👌🏽 You can add sauces to complement your meal for a few pounds more. We added pepper sauce and a gravy. Finally we got to the desserts. As everyone knows Murphy Browns desserts are delicious, so much so, we had 2 each! And were only charged an extra £2 per person. My chosen desserts were homemade cheesecake of the day which was Baileys. As my friends know I'm very partial to Baileys and this certainly didn't disappoint. And homemade apple crumble & custard which was also fabulous! The service received was as fabulous as the food. You can also dine from their breakfast & lunch menu, evening meal menu, Sunday lunch menu, steak night Wednesday and lastly the children's menu. Something for everyone. I'm so looking forward to my next visit!

I don't go here often enough. Murphy Browns has served the community for many years and have honed their skills well during this time. Breakfast is my favourite. There's plenty in the "big fry" to keep you going all day and it's quick to the table from the friendly staff. The dinner choices are also well put together with plenty on the plate. Recommended.

Went here with 9 friends. Pre booked, paid a deposit of 10 pounds. Excellent service, John went out of his way, meeting everyone’s needs. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. 20 pounds for three courses. We will be back. Thank you so much for a lovely Sunday afternoon! Absolutely excellent!

Excellent customer service. Excellent food. Great afternoon! John the manager couldn’t do enough for our party of nine. Paid the deposit, prior to arrival. The service was friendly, very efficient and good food at three courses on a Sunday for 20 pounds. Absolutely excellent, we will have this as a regular spot, as we go to a different venue every week. Came across this restaurant by chance when looking for a meal before boarding the overnight ferry to Liverpool (Birkenhead). Very friendly and professional service. We had the beef hotpot and a pizza, together with starters and deserts. All excellent quality. Would definitely recommend

Great place for lunch or dinner. Lovely food and very attentive staff.

My honey chilli chicken sauce might as well been a bowl of soup, which made the chips soggy. The pavlova looked liked it had been scooped put with a tea spoon....very disappointing. The one star was for the service, the lady was very nice.

Would visit Murphy Browns , at least once 1 fornight for lunch as I work close by. Food is traditional fayre, ranging from Soup, Sandwiches to Chicken Coujons, Cod and Steak etc. Over the years I have tried most things on the menu and one thing I can say is, each time the food was delicious , cooked just right and served in very good time. Staff and friendly and attentive and the place is clean and tidy. What more can you ask for! Keep up the good work.

Me and my wife to be called into Murphy Browns for lunch one afternoon in October. We had a delicious lunch and decided we would ask the chef about outside catering for our wedding party in November. We spoke with Donna who gave us a menu of the items that could be provided. We went ahead anyway and booked Murphy Browns for our wedding party. The food and service was outstanding. They provided enough food for 100+ guests at the time we agreed on. The selection was fantastic. They catered to the venue which was in the city centre, this took a lot of stress and pressure off us. Used this place for catering for my child's birthday party and recommend. The entire experience was seamless. The menu has great options including vegetarian and kids' boxes. John was very efficient and responsive. It was easy to pay. Would use again.

Usually think this is a very good place for food, very family friendly and understanding however not on this occasion.Phoned and booked a table for this evening at 7:30pm for myself parents and baby brother who suffers from autism.Whilst trying to coax him into the restaurant and he was quite upset, we were greeted by a staff member telling us to close the door.There was a queue waiting and we were past the reservation time but to be greeted at any restaurant with the welcoming of ‘ shut the door’ whilst you are still on the outside of it and with a child of specials needs with you, this is unacceptable.Very let down

It was a lovely impromptu visit. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars for atmosphere was due to the ridiculous, so called, music playing.

Roast beef dinners are great, but I had steak dinner and it came with only mash potatoe. I would've liked it to come with a little veg, like broc or carrots. The dessert are great too.

Nice neighbourhood restaurant. BYOB for a small corkage charge. Menu comprises chicken, fish and steak dishes - starters include soup, chicken wings etc.

I call in here often enough and never have a gripe. Their food is fresh cooked and full of flavour. Always send an empty plate back. From hotpot to steak..Id honestly say to call in. Their prices arent bad either. Ive always foumd the staff to be helpful, friendly and attentive.

Probably one of the best places in the city to get a bite to eat for lunch or just if you wanna go for dinner it's amazing too.

I haven't been to the restaurant but used them for a christening in April, so helpful and food arrived on time, piping hot and delicious. Highly recommend their catering service.

Great local restaurant 2 courses 13 £, BYO, steak scampi Walter ewing cod, really good honey chilli chicken. Good portions, desserts are lovely recommend good ole pavlova. Staff are friendly very efficient and welcoming well worth a visit.

Highly recommend Murphy Brown's for outside catering, good menu to choose from on their website and Naiomi great to deal with and she arrived at agreed time with food for a party of 28, everyone enjoyed thanks very much!

I order a take away meals from Murphy browns and the lasagne was stone cold and chips was very greasy, I also order the pocket and bits of the chicken that in pocket was cold as well Thank you for the phone call today really appreciate it

Very tasty meal. Steak was a little over. Not so much I'd ask for a new one. Staff are extremely helpful and prices are reasonable.
