I've visited the Canary Wharf branch a few times (mostly for the beer garden as inside doesn't offer much in the way of atmosphere) and enjoyed it, so was looking forward to this visit as part of a quiz night. Staff upstairs were very helpful in directing us down to the place where the quiz was taking place (in the basement). There was plenty of space, with each table seating around 10 people. We were greeted at the table within moments of arriving by an staff member who was very enthusiastic but hadn't given us time to look at the menu (one per table) yet, so we had to ask them to come back a little later. As a vegetarian, food choices are limited. We opted for the vegan platter for two and it was so disappointing, especially at a cost of £33. The sausages were dry and hard and I'm not sure what the vegan schnitzel was, but it was nothing like any schnitzel I've ever had. There are great vegan/veggie products out there that mimic the sort of meat options this establishment serves, so I'm not sure why they've chosen such terrible components for their menu. The pretzel bun ended up being the nicest part of the meal. Our friends' (meat) schnitzel platter looked good and was apparently very tasty. I would say the platters for 2 would easily feed 3-4: both the vegan and the meat ones. We found that once our food was served (the vegan platter ariving 5-10 minutes after our friends' meat one), we weren't checked on or even able to flag down a member of staff. I appreciate that it was very busy at this time, but please remember to come check on tables. I wanted an additional condiment and eventually had to go and chase someone down to get it. Thankfully service picked up again a bit later so we were able to order drinks throughout the quiz. In the ladies' toilets, at least one of the three cubicles didn't have a functioning lock. Another customer told me she'd had problems with two of the three, but I can't verify this. Finally, the bench seating, though very practical, doesn't offer much comfort. The team on the next table to us - who you share a bench with - were moving about a lot, meaning we were constantly being jostled in our seats. Probably not something you notice after a few steins, but definitely uncomfortable during sobriety.

I have lived in Munich and I miss bavarian food! I went to Munich Cricket Club and had a Wiener Schnitzel and a Schwarzwälder Torte that was super delicious! And Manuel, who served my table, was very kind and fun. I totally recommend the place :)

Amazing place with great food and great service. Walking distance from the Tower Hill train stop. Manuele was an amazing host, very friendly and very insightful on the food options. Very great place to grab lunch for the price with the their lunch specials and have a great time. The apple strudel is a must. The Munich Cricket Club is a must.

This is a great spot with delicious food and amazing service. Our server Manuele was so helpful in beer and food selection, and even took the time to get to know my partner and I who traveled from California . He made us laugh so much and we definitely wished we had come here sooner!

Great pub with a fab selection of German beers. Food is also very nice. The staff are very friendly and great at recommending the right amount of food to order. Shout out to Manuele who was especially attentive, friendly and recommended the cheese and ham pretzel which was delicious! We will absolutely be back!

We were served by Manuel, a very nice and very nice guy, exquisite treatment, we ordered some special coffees and Manuel served us the coffees in an exceptional way. We will be back

Came here for dinner with my boyfriend. It was 2 for 1 on Schnitzels, and on the cocktails for a certain amount of time. We had the baked chicken one with ham and melted cheese. Tasted really nice cooked to perfection. Thank you kitchen staff. My boyfriend also had one of the German Sausages, that also tasted perfect. And he had a Stein of beer. The customer service from Niaz and Callum was perfect 10/10 friendly polite guys. Topped the night off with a German hat each which we absolutely loved. We will be returning. Thank you for a perfect evening.

Pricey, the staff was nice but the vegetarian dish was poor. My friend got the meat version of the same dish, where it got more sauces, and sides, where mine was served with fries only. I would expect equivalent effort in that area. The beer was good, but £££.

Munich Cricket Club in Tower Hill offers a refreshingly basic yet inviting setup that perfectly complements its excellent German cuisine and diverse beer selections. During our family visit, we indulged in the Pork Knuckle, Gulasch, and more, all of which exceeded our expectations. The staff, notably friendly, guided us through the menu, highlighting the generous portion sizes – particularly noteworthy for the Pork Knuckle. Despite a few groups being a tad loud with their beer-filled jars, the overall ambiance was pleasant. A major plus is its convenient walking distance from Tower Hill station. In conclusion, our experience at Munich Cricket Club was positive. With its delectable German fare, helpful staff, and accessible location, it certainly makes for a worthwhile dining spot.

Leider war unser Besuch im Restaurant sehr enttäuschend. Die Ausweiskontrolle und die Hinterlegung der Kreditkarte wirken unnötig. Die lange Wartezeit von mind. einer Stunde auf lauwarmes Schweinegulasch mit Spätzle enttäuschte zusätzlich. Die Portionsgröße war unangemessen klein, selbst für Kinder. Hier besteht deutlicher Verbesserungsbedarf. Da wir keine null Sterne geben können bekommt Ihr einen von mir.

Leider muss ich meine Erfahrung im Munich Cricket Club als äußerst enttäuschend beschreiben. Schon beim Betreten fiel auf, dass nur wir unsere Ausweise zeigen mussten, um einen Tisch zu bekommen. Der Besuch war von Anfang bis Ende von unangemessener Wartezeit, unfreundlichem Service und einer fragwürdigen Vorliebe für andere Gäste geprägt. Besonders enttäuschend war, dass ein bestelltes Essen vergessen wurde, was zu zusätzlicher Unannehmlichkeit führte. Darüber hinaus steht auf der Speisekarte Schweineschnitzel, jedoch wurden Rindschnitzel serviert, was zu weiterer Verwirrung und Unzufriedenheit führte. Die allgemeine Atmosphäre litt erheblich unter diesen Umständen. Hoffentlich wird das Management diese Rückmeldung nutzen, um notwendige Verbesserungen vorzunehmen und zukünftigen Gästen eine angenehmere Erfahrung zu ermöglichen. Unfortunately, I must describe my experience at the Munich Cricket Club as extremely disappointing. Upon entering, it was noticeable that only we were required to show our IDs to secure a table. The visit was marked by inappropriate waiting times, unfriendly service, and a questionable preference for other guests. Particularly disappointing was the fact that an ordered meal was forgotten, leading to additional inconvenience. Additionally, the menu advertised pork schnitzel, but veal schnitzel was served, causing further confusion and dissatisfaction. The overall atmosphere was significantly affected by these circumstances. Hopefully, the management will use this feedback to make necessary improvements and provide a more pleasant experience for future guests.

Had a good time but some of our group didn't. It's ok if you like German beer. We had a sharing platter and it got eaten. The oompah band was a laugh but only played downstairs, so make sure you book a downstairs table.

Great experience for a big event

The food here is delicious! I had the footlong Bratwurst with potato salad and sauerkraut, washed down with a tasty Dunkel lager! Reminded me of my trips to Munch. Prost!!

The best Bavarian place I have been…recently I went to Germany and I did not eat as well as I ate yesterday at the Munich Cricket Club…The beer is delicious ❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰 The ladies have very friendly and good customer service a place I will go back ❤️

Very random German themed beer hall under a railway bridge(usually find these places on the tourist track). Pumping German Bavarian style music. Has a downstairs I didn't check out. Barman needs to clean his black nails before squeezing lime into my drink(why the 2 stars). Just had a drink, no food.

Good service and tasty German food and beers (of course)... But bring ear plugs for the band and the drunken sing-along from the punters!

Not really a proper German beer hall. Quite small as well. The staff seemed to really struggle with their pad , taking an order of 2 steins and 2 food items. Took around 10 mins. The food was excellent though as was the beer quality. Despite being dressed in suitable attire, the staff didn't seem to want to be there and didn't seem enthused about serving us, until we went to pay for the bill. The Staff sort of let the place down a bit as they didn't really seem to be confident or know what they were doing. They seemed confused by the order and forgot what was ordered within seconds of being told, after they asked. In the end it took 2 servers to work out the order. I can imagine the atmosphere in here is great when the oompah band is on though, although as can be seen the atmosphere was quite flat when I visited, not even any German beer hall style music playing just normal pop songs. Anyway, we had planned on staying alot longer, but left for other bars after our first drink as this place isn't what we expected. A shame as my friend has been to actual beer halls and German bars in Munich and smaller German towns and was disappointed.

Would be better if they allowed non dining customers to take seats downstairs as there were many spaces and we spent a lot kn steins!

Good if the band isn't playing. They are too loud and move about which basically makes conversation impossible. Sit upstairs to avoid.

Came here several years ago. It has changed a little. The staff are dressed the part, but aren't exactly enthused with the spirit of what it means to work in a German beer Haus. The beer was nice. Food was okay. Atmosphere was loud and music became more boisterous as the evening wore on. Definitely worth visiting, but your experience may well depend on who is working at that time.

It was fine, but nothing special and likely disappointing for true fans of schnitzel. It is a pub basically and nothing more or less.

Went here for a quick pint with a colleague, on a chilled Friday afternoon, Alex was SUPERB, she was very friendly and attentive. Would re-visit just for Alex’s’ superb service.

Visited evening 24th Oct 2023 and ordered a schnitzel with mushroom sauce and my colleague has bratwurst and chips. The food was absolutely awful. Clearly the food had just been reheated from being cooked earlier; the schnitzel was tough and the chips were hard. My colleague also agreed the food was rubbish. Wont be going back here again and I would certainly not recommend. We didn't complain at the time as we were enjoying each other's company and didn't want to ruin the night further. Very disappointed.

Echo the earlier comments about disinterested staff. Beer is fine and selection authentic but be careful who you order from as the ‘fully discretional’ service charge is added without comment by some of the staff and not by others. Felt cheated after seeing the bill after a contactless payment. Short version: Tom will look to shaft you for service charge without clearly stating it. Geraldas gave me a choice. Service of 12.5% for slowly carrying a beer from the bar seems ridiculous

Original German cuisine, unfortunately the potato salad is missing from the menu.

Visited on a Monday night - whilst the service was quick to show us to a table and provide menus the staff seemed very disinterested in taking our orders for food or drinks. Food was average, beer wasn't anything special (plus the order was incorrect although we just lived with it given how slow service had been in the first place) Wouldn't recommend or be in a hurry to go back.

Lots of German beers, good German food and a fantastic band on Thursday and Saturday evenings. Great place for a group party

First time quick visit before we needed to catch the train, and I was pleased with the atmosphere and how welcoming the place. The smell of food was gorgeous, but unfortunately, we didn't have time to order it. Drink were good and price dissent Definitely will stop next time for food and drink together. Caring and kind staff.

A great restaurant with awesome Beer and food. It was a relaef for me and my wife to find this place since we where tired of the usual fish & chips and steak & alle pies. The Special schnitzel with cheese and tomato souce is a most to try. The Summer in Berlin was my wife's favorite drink and of course the 1L German Beer mugs are awesome after a long day of work in a hot summer day.

Quick service, good food and pretty authentic. Staff were a little distracted. Clean toilets.

Don't miss out on the lunchtime business menu. Excellent value and with both quantity and quality. Also a great selection of authentic beers on top.

What a fantastic locals hangout. A slice of Germany in London. Thursday nights boasts a full oompah band. It has a great, noisy, lively atmosphere. Great for work groups and friends. Huge beer and cocktail steins. Massive schnitzel platters and pork knuckle. So much fun, a party atmosphere.

Stopped for a quick pint and noticed a nice menu too. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. German beers, not usual stuff. Had a wheat beer and it was perfect. Would definitely recommend. Didn't get a chance to try the food, but did see some on other tables. Looked pretty good though the menu does seem a bit pricy.

8/23 what a down fall from grace. As per usual I revisited the establishments. I could see that feedback was taken on regarding platters and I was going to return during the winter months to organise a team outing and having the platters. This visit has now changed everything. This visit was below their standard and left me feeling embarrassed as it was my friends birthday meal. We had single meals and found my meal was not as described ie bratkartoffel ( I was expecting fried off speck, zwiebel and potato slices as per tradition) it does mention it is covered in a tomato sauce that is like a bolognese. The potatoes were not fried off as there was no browning as per expectation - just boiled. Leberkäse was provided as 1/2 a slice. Never have I had it served like this before so I did challenge it. I was told there have been menu changes. I still challenged this - you wouldn’t serve 1/2 of a chicken fillet without mentioning it or a slice of toast only serving 1/2 a slice. May be on a kids menu, but not for an adult. This was corrected. Both me and my friend come from Germany and were also dismayed that the slow roasted pork knuckle had been ? Deep fried?. This left is rather dry on the outside. Also the knödel were deep fried were she was expecting traditional ones. No mention of deep frying these on the menu either. The sauerkraut had No life left in it. The manager was on site - on our previous visit he was so friendly and quaint, this time not even a hello. We had happy hour and two different cocktails - these were fine. I had to get up to order the 2nd lot of drinks. But as service got slight busy our glasses were taken away when empty and we were not asked if we wanted anything else and were left sitting. I had to go to the till to settle the bill. What a deflating experience. The music was 80’s and good. The bill came up to nearly £69. Due to the let down may be either more accurate pictures of dishes on the menu to be supplied on the website so there is no confusion. On leaving even at the till there was no goodbye. Spring/23 We went for lunch on a Sunday. Customer services were welcoming and spot on. We enjoyed a stein of winterzwitzel - very nice. The music was as expected. Location was good. For 2 people with a huge amount of food could have fed 4 on a 2 person share plate. We had a good time and look forward to coming when the band is playing. Altogether we payed £55 ish. We would like to feedback that a mixture platter IE Schnitzel and sausages would be suggestion. We did not see it on the menu.

Clean venue, fast service. Sell beer in pints or steins at the high end of normal prices for the city. Good food selection although I ordered currywurst with chips and there was no mayo, what I thought was mayo on the table was mustard (it was in german) so mayo sachets would be good. Good beer selection although taste difference was subtle, the dunkle in particular was similar to the pilsner(?) Second beer down (hofe) is probably the best.

Great evening atmosphere at this BeerKeller,lovely food,great selection of beers & fantastic service.The 4 guys in the band playing brass instruments & drum entertained us all night,playing to the crowd with music that gets a crowd going.Thanks for a brilliant night.

Great atmosphere, great service but they need to work on the the food, needs more German influence

I love German beer, food and culture and have mixed feelings about this place. The beer itself is phenomenal, but the food is average, and the service is quite poor and inconsistent- not a German style service at all. The managers are very conspicuous and they always seem stressed - in fact their presence seems to make the rest of the staff nervous. I will still return as the beer itself is excellent, but have lowered my expectations regarding service.

A great evening of food, drink, Oompah band, and dancing. All the staff made us feel welcome improved our evening, especially Daniel who could not have been a better host and a real credit to their team. A night we will never forget. PROST!

Enjoyed the food and drink here, efficiently served by the staff. The venue reminded me of Germany but lacked a little of the German atmosphere to which I have become accustomed and whilst the food was good, the sausage was only lukewarm. On a positive note, they offer a vegan sausage so all can enjoy. It's definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in the Tower Hill or Fenchurch Street area of London. BTW, the Oompah band was great!

Not very busy at the time we went there. Service was very slow. Food was OK. Beer and cocktails were OK. But they were not very clear about happy hour pricing. Will probably not eat here again nor would I recommend it.

it was an incredible extremely unwelcoming struggle to make an order. Besides stating that I could not be recommend what to eat because of my gluten intolerance, which is totally understandable, making a damn order transformed itself in the most bizzare and frustrating of a restaurant experiences. I was told several times that german food does not lend itself to gluten free stuff, to the point that I bluntly had to ask if I was being asked to leave with those statements. I was given an incomplete incomprehensible food allergy list which had completely different names of the food listed in the menu, so it was literally impossible to navigate and when I asked help for that, I was told they were not allowed to help. this ridiculous legal disclaimer of a statement was useless and not relevant since I was not asking for the so called forbidden recommendations but simply I was asking how to read these greasy unclipped random pieces of papers of allergy information. It was awful, even if the restaurant was literally empty it was a struggle to get help. I really had the impression that this experience turned into a piss battle, which I will make sure to never re-experience. In a nutshell, if you have ANY food allergy AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL COSTS. And since the restaurant have been nice enough to send me this review form I might as well post in google.

I liked the pretzel, meat, and cheese appetizer with gherkins (Brotzelbrett). Munich Cricket Club "Hahnchenschnitzel" was also delicious - like a German twist on Chicken Cordon Bleu. I was looking for ketchup for my fries but they had packets of German mustard and horseradish at the table so I tried those instead and liked them both. This is a fun place that is very close to the Tower of London.

Good friendly staff, drinks were fantastic and as it was Sunday it was happy hour (2 for 1 cocktails and £10 stein for their clubhaus beer which was brilliant). Food was really good. Group I was with had nothing bad to say about the food. I'd ordered the pork schnitzel which was delicious. Thanks to all the staff who accommodated our booking, great place to go after race day!

The food is great, the staff are extremely helpful. The basement beer cellar seemed the place to be.

Portions were small, and the wait staff didn't explain things well

We had a reservation and they seated us in the basement area without asking about our preference. Shortly after a loud tumtata band started playing just besides us, which in the basement surrounding was super loud and did not allow to talk. It turned out that they played all evening, so ultimately we fled to the upstairs area, which had a nicer atmosphere and decent music through the speakers. Food is ok, but does not live up to an authentic German experience. Selection of Bavarian beers, but no beers from other German regions. Staff were not too friendly.

We had the sausage and snitzel plate for 2 which was very tasty and a huge portion. the beers were good too. Initially, I wanted to leave a bad review for them forgetting out food two times. But than the staff members did everything in their power to rectify the mistake.

Went for my dad's birthday party. Great food and friendly and helpful staff. Live band was fun.

First time here and was looking forward to the food We arrived and placed our drinks and food order at the same time with a young gentleman. However, the food still hadn't arrived after waiting approx 45 mins. When we asked him where are order was, when questioned, he said it was a mix up with the kitchen and said it would be another 10 to 15 mins. He had actually forgotten to place our order. This was really disappointing, but the manager came over to apologise and gave us a complimentary drink which was decent of him. My real bugbear was watching the young gentleman who served us constantly grooming with his hair and fringe with his hands and then handling plates of good. Certainly not hygienic. Maybe he should consider a hairnet if he is going to continue to handle food. When the food arrived it was plentiful and hot. We chose the chicken and pork schnitzel platter.

Amazing time tonight. Daniel was our server who was amazing and the band were fantastic. I just wish the trumpeter would let me play (he knows who I am hahaha) But best night for those who want a fun atmosphere.

Stumbled across this place while wandering around Tower Hill area. Very clean ( looks like a new venue), the staff ( possibly the owners) were amicable. I popped in for a quick bite, pork belly bites - tasty. The menu looked appealing ( I shall return when in the area), good range of German beers.

Outstanding night and thank you Daniel and Patricia on a personal note. You absolutely deserve a mention as you guys looked after me tonight. A credit to the event and due to them I will absolutely return back soon 👍👍
