Munal Tandoori in Wandsworth

Lovely clean Restuarant, the food is fantastic but i think they are getting a bit expensive... especially for their takeaways...used to give a discount but alas no more....all in all though a nice treat ! very good. Food lately seems very salty though.

There absolutely no other place like this for food, hygiene and service! We have been coming here for 18 years and food is delicious! We also brought many friends and everyone is immediately impressed. No place like Munal Thanks Teuta & Roni

Food is average, too loud in there and the service is pathetic. Went in and ordered a takeaway order. Was told it will be 45 mins as they were busy which is fair enough. Waited in the car, went back after 45 mins and the guy at the reception says it's not ready yet and when inquired how long more simply says I don't know I will let you know when it's ready?? No apologies, absolutely poor.

We live a few miles away and only visited because we won a voucher which the restaurant had donated as a fundraiser to my son’s school. We had a fantastic time and will definitely come back! The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, and the prices very reasonable indeed. The restaurant was almost full early Sunday evening which speaks for itself. It feels like a valued institution which is part of the local community. Thank you!

Absolutely no spice or even curry like taste to my husband and myself tikka massalas. Onion bhaji was a heap of mess which couldn't be picked up. And the worst of all was the paratha which was just like a thick brown slice of bread and the peshwere naan was burnt on outside. Wet inside and had no coconut taste with sprinklings of unidentifiable bits on top. Samosa was best, the worst curry experience we have ever had, our date night treat was let down by disappointment of the whole meal. Also the service was poor, and had card reader literally shoved under our noses before we had seen the bill. Advice to others would be, avoid at all costs

Why this place has so many positive reviews is beyond me. Ordered take away twice now from there. Wanted to give it a second chance after mediocre initial experience, but nope... Maybe their meat based food is better but the veggie options are mostly bland and worse that most other places I ordered from. Large portion sizes for reasonable prices don'take up for disappointing taste. Definitely not coming back. Vegetarians stay away!

It was perfect, just perfect everything down to the last minute detail. The customer service of this family run restaurant is exceptional with very nice traditional Nepalese food. The portion sizes are very generous and you will find your self taking it home to enjoy. Overall best South Asian food restaurant South London

Wonderful restaurant. We had my mother in laws 100th Birthday lunch and I have never been to a restaurant where the hospitality was outstanding , food absolutely fabulous. I cannot thank them enough for helping us celebrate such a wonderful day.

Been going to the munal since I was born. Fabulous food, love seeing the staff there who I have known for years and are so lovely. Introduced many people over the years to this restaurant and no complaints so far. Family members always purposely swing by when over from abroad as they love it. All negative reviews are nonsense. In fact we're off there again tonight for no doubt another fantastic meal!

My son has been here several times and always raved about it. We decided to get a delivery from them this evening and I can honestly say it’s the best curry I’ve ever had. All the food was so fresh, arrived hot and was delicious! Will definitely be eating from here again.

We’ve been eating at Munal for 20 years. Less now than we used to due to travel. Last night we’d flown down from Aberdeen, gone straight to Craven Cottage and arrived here starving at 21.45 wondering if we were too late for sit in dinner. Welcomed by the staff enquiring about us as we’d been away a few weeks. We’re creatures of habit here but changed a little last night. Against our normal practice we ordered far too much, ate too quickly and as a consequence have enough for dinner tonight. Rarely have we had a “bad” meal here. There’s sometimes a wait but just have a beer and chill…

Went late with a group yesterday and the food was an excellent standard, fantastic service and quality along with being fairly priced

Service excellent and restaurant full on a weekend evening but there was a 45 minute wait from sitting down to mains (did not have any starters). When the food came, we could not understand why it took so long. While portions were large, everything was clearly out of pre-prepared vats. The different ‘specials’ (examples: butter chicken and lamb tikka masala) all had the same muddy-taste sauce, the lamb was mostly tough and the naans were the coarsest we have encountered. Those Spice Tailor supermarket sauces are markedly superior. But the other tables seemed to enjoy their meals and we even heard “delicious” and “very good” from a nearby table. This did not encourage us to consider a return.

Great tasting food and great service. Also quite reasonable prices for London standards. Hard to find an issue!. Will repeat for sure 😃

We were walk-ins late on a Saturday evening when a few large parties were enjoying their meals, but the staff were amazing and helpful. We ended up ordering takeaway and in the time it took to prepare a small group finished up and left, and we were able to eat-in. And there was so much food we ended up taking home a substantial doggybag! Again, can't fault the service and helpfulness of the team, and enjoyed the food immensely.

Really great food and service. Excellent veggie options and the portion sizes are phenomenal - perhaps too big! Very reasonably priced - excellent for the quality. It’s a little loud, but that’s because there’s lots of other people also having a great meal.

I’ve been coming here for many years but am noticing a decline in general. Despite being the first and only people in the restaurant, just after opening, we waited ages for our food and it was then lukewarm. The poppadoms tasted as though they were damp and this is the second time we’ve noticed this. There seems to be a lot more attention to deliveries/ takeaway than the customers in the restaurant. Other family members went recently and noticed the same things that I’m writing about. This is disappointing after so many years of superb service. Something has changed and it’s not for the better.

Such a shame. Our regular curry spot. Been laid low for five days now and it wasn’t even that good - biryani meat to rice ratio terrible.

We ordered £50 worth of food for family dinner. The food was very salty specially lamb saag so we had to throw it. I called the next day to complain and the guy I spoke was very rude and disrespectful. I asked his name and the manager but her refused to tell me. He also said don’t order from us anymore and hung up on me. I’m very disappointed and the way they treated their customers.

My favourite place to eat out. The food portions are huge and everything tastes fantastic. The service is exemplary and the staff are polite and courteous. The prices are very reasonable. Just a fantastic place to eat!

They will cancel your order on uber eats if they don't feel like they're making enough money off you to make the trip worthwhile. Almost everytime my order is under £20 they cancel it instantly. Probably had around 50 orders with this restaurant but I won't use it again.

Of course I have to visit Munal Tandoori again when I'm in London! Love to see that the prices and portions haven't changed at all. The flavors are still as excellent as ever! For two people, we ordered one main dish, pilao rice, and garlic naan. We have enough leftovers for another meal for us both! And the total was around 15GBP. Lovely service as well.

Great people there the staff there were very friendly and quick, not very busy at 19:00 on Friday could walk in without reservation. The food portion sizes are amazing for the price and a great local place. Can easily serve 2-3 people with 1 main dish and rice or just takeaway after you can't finish which they are happy to do. The chicken Vijendra was excellent and super spicy as promised legitimately very good unlike other spices in London.

I honestly can’t recommend this place more then I do to all my friends it’s literally THE BEST. The food here is amazing full of flavour, they have so many options it’s hard to choose and all of them are great. I’ve been here over 10 times and I’ve always been satisfied with the food/service/atmosphere. The people who work there are such lovely kind people that you can tell love doing what they do. Me and my brother always go here for any celebration it’s just an amazing place. 100% recommend it!!!!!

Wow just spent £50 on takeaway for two dishes and one rice and a side dish . Never in my life write reviews. I called them back up cos I wanted a slice ov lemon to squeeze on dish he sed that’s 60 pence extra 🤣 narnbread stone cold rock hard and even microwave can’t bring it back to eating level.. butter chicken was cold no kidding I took lid off and held it upside down it stayed in the tub like set thick yogurt. Any way they for got to put my 60 pence slice ov lemonin the bag 😂. Not a biggie just thought I would share ..PS WOT HAPPENED to the days ov a free poppadum or even a beer. 🤦‍♂️

Really thought this place was going to be a winner but the flavour just wasn’t there. We went on a Tuesday and was really busy so great atmosphere. Poppadoms were a bit stale (maybe leftover from the weekend). Pickles and dips very good though. The onion bhajis to start were the best I’ve ever had (and I’m from Leicester so I’ve had a lot of great bhajis!). Ordered my favourite curry - paneer tikka masala and this was the biggest disappointment- it literally tasted like creamy gravy?! So bizarre. The peshwari naan looked very promising, but there was absolutely no coconut flavour so that was disappointing. I think this place would be so good but I would order something different next time! Service was great, really friendly. And very reasonable too. Rice portion huge enough to share. And the paratha was delicious though doughier than I’m used to (good for me!). A disappointing visit but I wouldn’t be put off coming again as long as I ordered differently!

This used to be my favourite Nepalese restaurant until last night! The lamb dish I ordered has drastically reduced in meat content and the meat that was served was mainly fat. The peshwari naan was doughy, not cooked and had none of the sweetness that defines it. It was in fact pretty tasteless. I know we’re going through a cost of living crisis but reducing quality and quantity means I will no longer visit. Nepalese……..Noplease!

The staff is so sweet and the food is really tasty. Great for all kind of dietary requirements and great for dating occasion, friend gathering or family reunion.

It was our first time buying from here. Out of all the dishes we ordered, only 2 dishes was nice. The Chicken briyani and the veg curry with it plus the Lamb masala was the only ones that were good from this place. The prawn vindaloo wasn't great! The chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, and the raita was so sweet! As an Indian myself I can't eat it at all. I will never buy here again.

If we could give the team at Munal 100 stars we would. My partner and I used to live close by and it was our constant go-to takeaway - not many months would go by when we didn't look at each other and say "Munal?" of an evening as an all-too preferred excuse not to cook. The food was always of the highest quality and came in very generous portions. Menu highlights of ours were the butter chicken, lamb saag, chicken mushroom and onion bhaji. The dining-in experience was also wonderful - the team were always so friendly and accommodating. Nights that revolved around this culinary experience are keynotes of our fondest memories of living in the area. If we are ever back in the UK, Munal will certainly be one of our first ports of call. Thank you for the many years of your delicious meals!

Food is so bland and tasteless. The chef must definitely be given a lesson on cooking with spices. Service was Ok..I guess the only good thing was the beer and good thing that it was bottled couldn't be messed with!

Do not order from this restaurant. Ordered takeaway at 18:50 and it didn't come until after 20:45 when it's predicted time of delivery was 19:37.

The food at Munal is always excellent but be wary of the other services. Ordered tonight at 6.10pm. Delivery was for 7.10pm. At 7.30pm nothing had arrived and my phone-call to enquire seemed to take them by surprise and I was told it would be another 40 minutes. Eventually we got some food at 8.20pm to then find one of the main curries was missing. Eventually got the missing dish delivered just before 9.00pm. Certainly not what you want on a Sunday night. Shame.

Minstead Gdns - Beautiful and fresh food every time! We get takeaways and also dine in the restaurant. The Onion Bhaji’s are massive, and every main dish is full of rich and tasty flavours.

They have been wonderful to us over the years. When I had my first baby I used to walk down the hill sit and have a glass of wine with the dog and baby. So warm and kind to me. Food is ace! Service is ace! I especially love the way they cook the lamb. Yum yum. We are loyal customers for life!!

Our new favourite curry spot after moving to the area. Everyone is super friendly regardless of whether you’re eating in or taking away. The curry’s are really tasty and not oily plus they can be on the spicy side which is nice! The keema naan, mo mo and duck curry are brilliant!

The restaurant is quite bysy as it is very popular. Table reservation is highly recommended. .The ood served is extremely good and served i large portions at a very reasonable price ce - about GBP 80 per dish. The portions are so large that most customers are leaving the restaurant with a doggy bag

Long delivery time ( and we are local) and missing items

I went to Munal Tandoori for my sons birthday last night. The food was very tasty and plentiful. Staff were excellent. The establishment is very clean and inviting. Highly recommend.

Ordered a takeaway from a well-reviewed restaurant and was really disappointed. The Sag Aloo was below what I'd expect, with clearly defrosted spinach and very large potatoes lacking any flavour. The most disappointing element was the chicken tikka, which was over cooked and flavourless. I think the picture speaks for itself... Perhaps a one off, but I wouldn't order from here again.

They were 1 hour late from the time they told us. In other words it took them almost 2 hours to deliver the food from the time we placed the order and we live a 9 minute drive from their restaurant. They told excuses that traffic is really bad when we had just driven the route and there was hardly any traffic. They told us after 10 minutes being late that the driver was leaving, then after 40 minutes being late that the driver is on his way, and then 1 hour late. Just excuses and always saying on its way yet....

This was our second time visiting Munal Tandoori. The food and service were excellent. I highly recommend the mixed sizzler. Both occasions, we arrived without a reservation and though the place was packed, they were more than happy to offer a table. For those of us who live in another country, this is excellent for a last-minute dining decision. One of the Nepalese gentleman was very entertaining and had a great sense of humor. It made for another special evening.

I’ve been a customer for 20 years. I have introduced many friends and family members to Munal - the best Nepalese cuisine in London. This is not a normal “curry” - this is THE best in London. Consistently delicious. Keep up the good work.

Ordered a delivery on Saturday at 7:00PM - multiple delays before they just cancelled the order at 9PM. Wouldn’t pick up phone. Have used restaurant before on a number of occasions but won’t again. Shame.

Absolutely the best food in the area, worth penny. If you are into south-asian food this the the best you can find. We have only had delivery quiet few times, it was tasty, fresh, delivered quick. 5* restaurant. Can’t wait to visit in person!

Probably the best curry you'll get in the area. Absolutely delicious food and huge portions for what you pay. The people who own/run it are also a great laugh and provide great service. Glad I've found this place.

The absolute best restaurant! I simply refuse to eat Indian / Nepalese elsewhere because you can’t find better food. The food is tasty, always fresh and staff is lovely. I come here for the past 15 years and the taste of food and costumer service never changed.

Food was alright although really spicy. We ordered a lamb curry and they sent a chicken one. After calling them they said they will send the correct curry straight away.....still waiting for it... *update 7months later and still waiting💁‍♀️

Great Nepalise food. Efficient, Pleasant staff. Only problem with the place is they give you too much food. Really, a do not miss experience. Have used the restaurant since it opened.

I live ten minutes away from Munal and have been eating their food for decades! It is by far the best restaurant in the area. The food is always tasty (reviewers who have complained about the taste probably have long Covid) although slightly on the salty side recently which seems to have been rectified. I have just eaten a takeaway from there before writing this. Absolutely divine! Polite service - definitely. Slow. Yes, it has been known, though fairly rare. Try and book a day/time when it is unlikely to be over-busy. Can't wait for this lovely food to be cooked? There is always McDonald's up the road in Putney.

We had a special dine in today as it was my wife's birthday and we just loved their Biryanis and other starters. Portions were very generous in fact requested them to reduce it a bit to avoid the food going into the bin. Staffs were very kind and showed great hospitality. This delightful Nepalese restaurant served us probably the best 'Indian' meal that I have ever eaten. Really distinct flavours in each dish - and all very reasonably priced I will be back!

Being a Brummie who grew up near the Balti Triangle, I have high standards when it comes to curry houses. This place never fails to satisfy me. 10/10. Good for Gluten Free Celiac too.
