Fabulous restaurant beautiful starters and curries to die for all fresh produce. Highly recommended. They do deals most days and can get a five course meal for £12.50. Drinks boost the price up though. Fabulous dish to try, mixed sizzler for two.

Was once a regular.... But over recent years I have noticed it going downhill. Last night ....well thought I would give it one last chance. WISHED I HAD NOT. Service is absolutely rubbish. Waited 30 mins after popadoms had arrived for order to be taken........

After being given 2 separate recommendations we gave the Mumbai Lounge a go. Don’t be fooled by the building itself. The Mumbai Lounge is superb. Very friendly and warm welcome by the staff. The food was delicious. We went at around 6.30 on a Tuesday...

Nice busy little place, the set menu is great value, fridays seem to be the busy times and service can get a little slow but the food is very good. Be aware they only take Cash payments which means a trip up the local garage

Our 1st visit to the Mumbai Lounge but it certainly will not be the last everything we had was so tasty and the Nan bread was the best ever, cannot fault anything. The staff were very attentive and all the food was well presented and for a Tuesday evening they were quite busy. Excellent for our 31st wedding anniversary thank you.

What a welcoming place this is as we got there it was really busy but they managed to fit four of us in within five minutes. We all had the five course meal deal which is even available on a saturday. The meal was fantastic the service impecable and the price £80 for four including drinks!!!

The Mumbai Lounge is a really friendly restaurant and definitely worth a visit. I recommend the five course meal as it is the best value for money.

Yet again a lovely evening, staff friendly and attentive, food great and good value for money. Only downside was restaurant a little chilly but there was a plug in heater by our table which we used. Will be visiting again very soon.

Quite a while since my last visit but it won’t be as long to my next. My friend and I had the £9.95 five course menu. Excellent value as was the food and the service was second to none. A very good evening all in.

We have been many times before with friends and family. Never been dissapointed, really tasty food and excellent value through the 5 course deal. We've even had dishes made at request (extra garlic, extra chilli). Staff are friendly and remember if youve been before. Worth a visit.

1st time tonight..omg got the offer for £10.95 was amazing got extra nan bread. Absolutely beautiful brought half my meal home as plenty...will be going again.great value for money.. highly recommend went early 6 pm and didn't book but it soon filled up so if you are going later think will need to book to be on safe side..

We went to the restaurant last week and was hoping that we would enjoy our meal. I am a large lady struggling with my weight, but I have managed to lose some recently. We was going out for a treat as I hadn't been feeling well recently. We was asked what we would like to drink, partner asked for a pint of lager, another a glass of wine, when I was asked what I wanted, the waiter said, Diet Coke?? How offensive! I stated no, wine please!! My partner was angry and threatened to get a taxi to a nearby Indian restaurant, the waiter made a joke of it! After our meal, on our exit, the waiter shouted out, bye Diet Coke!!'

Came here for the first time tonight and I actually can’t believe we’ve not been here before. We thought we’d give it a try at as we’ve been told how nice and great value for money it is by a few people we know. We came here today which was a Monday and it was busy we couldn’t believe for a weekend how busy it was as other Indians we’ve been to through week are usually really quiet, so we new then it must have been nice for all the customers here. We got the meal deal which was £9.95 for a starter, main meal, side and coffee and desert, we didn’t have the coffee or dessert as we was stuffed, we also had popadom and pickle-tray while we chose our meal. There is lots of dishes to chose from our the menu. Service is excellent staff was great. The restaurant is nice and clean. All in all it was excellent food, excellent service and reasonable prices, we will definitely be back, and this time we will come with our family. Thank-you Mumbai Lounge

Two couples who enjoy a good curry were recommended this curry house by some friends.

Lovely friendly restaurant. Curry was excellent, rice perfect. Amazing value for money. Our waiter Ali was fabulous. Couldn’t have any nicer as were all the staff. Really genuine. Will be back

Had a great meal here whilst staying in the area.

The restaurant was very noisy with people obviously worse the wear with drink, this was 7-30pm ?. The few staff working could not cope with food orders & nobody was working the bar. The food was just passable & all four of us did not rate it at all.

Family meal. Went for the 5 courses for a tenner. 6 of us ate and all enjoyed. Great service with a smile from 2 young waiters.

What a turn up for the books. My Brother had come to stay having just arrived back from living in the Greek Islands for the past six months, and he said the one thing he missed whilst out there was a good Indian meal. Never having been to any of the restaurants in the local area before, we chose the Mumbai after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor with the intention of just having a takeaway, but on arrival we saw the offer of 5 courses for £9.95 and decided to stay. As you can see from the photos, it is a nicely decorated restaurant, and the food was excellent one of the best Indian meals I've had. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. The choices on the menu are many and varied with something to suit everyone's taste buds. I would definitely recommend the Mumbai, and will be returning in the near future.

First time visit to the lounge and what an enjoyable experience. From the welcome we got as soon as we walked through the door to leaving.

28 of us enjoyed a great night out at the Mumbai Lounge last night. From 6.15pm to 10pm we were looked after by Martin and his team. A great atmosphere and terrific food which was served promptly and efficiently allowing enough time in between to chat and enjoy ourselves. My favourites are the mixed sizler started for two people, the king prawn jalfrezi with extra spinach, the chicken naga Karachi and the chef's special Balti. The later not being as hot as the first two but packed with lovely aromatic tones. For £10.95 it is incredibly good value and many of our friend's have stated they will come again with their families and friends. So many thanks to Martin, Ali young Ali, Adam and the new lads who were great.

Been coming here for a few years but lately it has gone seriously down hill. The service is shocking and the food not as good as it used to be. Also it states outside the offers which is £9.95, what they don’t tell you is they want you to pay cash, no card facilities. Apparently this is in small print right at the back of the menu. If you are having the offers CASH ONLY. Yet they do have card facilities, I find this very under hand. Will give this place a miss for a while now, or at least till I hear better feed back. Tandoori Hut can give this place a 10 break.

Visited here for the first time August 23rd.Passed this restaurant a week earlier and car park was full.A Good sign.Great choice off menu at £9-95.Two of our party had vegetarian meals.The staff were very helpful and pleasant and great service.We all enjoyed the meal and were given a complimentary drink after.Will return.

Visited with friends and highly impressed with the food and service. It was a Saturday night and the place was packed, with people queuing for a table. That is always a good sign and the set meal option proved excellent value for money and made you wonder why customers ever ordered dishes separately, as the you could choose virtually anything on the menu. The service was a bit slow, due to two large parties, but I don't mind this as it allows the courses to settle and it far better than being rushed through your meal! Will certainly return in the near future

Visited Mumbai for first time this evening and even though it doesn’t look much from the outside (sorry), the staff and food speaks for itself. The food was delicious - v tasty, none greasy and flavoursome. The staff were very attentive and polite. First class service!

Me and the wife went last Friday on the spur of the moment for our tea and we were well impressed with the food st first I thought &10.95 on a Friday night the quality wouldn’t be up to much but how wrong I was we had a mixed starter for two spot on chicken shaslick chicken Curry Kashmir rices and a garlic naan This tight old Yorkshire man thought it was very good value for money and I am considering going back again

Had the 5 course special only 12.95 unbevable for what you get portions are massive for the money, but they don't skimp on the flavour! Best round this area will 10000% recomend and will be visiting again, must also ad that the staff make you feel comfortable very friendly and nothing is too much.

We went here tonight on the off chance after passing this Restaurant on my way to work every day. The food was out of this world! The staff were so friendly, we will definitely recommend and also be returning ourselves - 5 stars tonight.

Went for a meal at our usual restaurant lovely food but the waiter made us feel so uncomfortable that we left before we had our sweet and coffee even though they were included in our meal. Been going there for a few years but never again will we return

food was lovely, we've been a few times now & we would defo go again. it's a very clean place too and the people that work there are very welcoming , would recommend to a friend

1st time from this restaurant. Phoned order in, amount and collection time given and achieved. Now the food, in a word, excellent. 4 of us had different dishes and we all agreed they were excellent. Will definitely be my restaurant of choice for Indian food from now on. Next time I’ll book a table. The staff are immediately friendly and attentive without losing their efficiency. On the whole a great experience.

Went for a meal on Sunday 18th February 2018 first visit and we will definitely go again,the food was very very good,the staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble, great starters,main meal through to coffee and mints.the only downside for me was the dark lighting in the place but that is just me ,I do like bight lighting then I can see clearly but the lights were very dim,but that was no reflect on the food and staff,10 out of 10

My family and I visit the Mumbai ofter as it is local the service is very good and the food excellent. I recommend the £9.95 four course offer during the week teatime onwards very good value for money and an excellent stop off on your way home from work.

Me and my 2 friends haven’t been out to eat in a long time, and planned a nice curry night out. So we picked this place. Drinks starters and the meal was nice, but I’m not gunna lie been a restaurant manger for 3 years,In another country, with in 40 to 50 minutes the table would have been served eaten and left a tip, I will not be leaving one tonight, Yes one waiter did say it takes time to cook food, but when your sat watching other people how long they have been waiting, and definitely got there’s in good time, quite shamed really fellers.

Only 2nd time here and must say, food is lovely and definately good value for money. Friendly and efficient staff who cant do enough for you, and made to feel very welcome. Been to many indians in the past and this is definately one of the best. Defo be back in the very near future!

Ordered a takeaway for collection. The man who I spoke to had no telephone manners, was snappy and rude! I ordered 4 offer 1 meals and some extras. It clearly states on the website any orders over £20, takeaway only, receive 15% off and a bottle of wine. We spent almost £50 and got neither! Obviously we didn’t get ice creams and coffees with a takeaway which was fine but the man on the phone said he would put extra poppadoms in which he didn’t! Food was no better than anywhere else iv ever been to be fair! Won’t be going again! Clay oven in goldthorpe for us next time! Your loss!

4 of us called in for a evening meal, absolutely brilliant the service the food was very good and the price was unbelievable the staff were very attentive and polite, highly recommend.

Unbelievable value, 5 of us went and it was last available table. I would advise to book. All had the 5 course £10 deal and couldn’t find a single argument with it. We will be returning.

Monday to Thursday 5 courses for £10, such a good deal. There was five of us in total, all had different starters and mains, none of us had anything bad to say, all enjoyed our meals. Will definitely go back.

The food at Mumbai was not of a good quality meat was very tuff and the vindaloo was very bitter in taste won’t go here again

Our meal was not expensive, but disappointing. The chicken didn't taste very good. It tasted like an old meal that had been reheated. To be fair, it was very quiet, and we were the only people in at the time. It was chilly too, we both had to leave our coats on. I've heard good things from other people, so maybe my first visit is not typical. I'm certainly not in a rush to go back.

Just visited the Mumbai with my wife and felt compelled to leave an excellent review. Starters chicken tandoori and lamb tikka both were excellent. Washed down with ice cold Cobra bring it on. The mains a house special Balti and a special chicken nagi-keri boiled rice and a cheese garlic nan were both to be honest exceptional. I asked for spinach in my nagi and my wife had extra chillies on the side both were provided without any fuss. The spicing and taste was very good. The whole lot including three pints of Cobra and a glass of red wine came to less than £35. Keep up the good work Ali,Adam,Sadiqu and of course the chef.

First time we had eaten here but we were very impressed. We weren't rushed to order or between courses I had the chicken chat starter which was gorgeous my partner had soup dall which he thought was lovely both main meals were tasty and plentiful we really did enjoy the meal without it costing a lot . The staff were polite and advised us about dishes which we hadn't come across before we did have a really pleasant evening .

Myself and my wife frequent Mumbais in the week for their 3 course for £9.95. Delicious food and great value. The alcohol is reasonably priced also.

You Cannot pay by card!!!! (Credit card Machine has been broken (allegedly for over 3 or 4 months) )They will only take cash!!!In my opinion..., A cash only business is not willing and clearly avoiding to pay U.K. Tax .... no records = no tax A truly reputable business would ensure card payments could be taken... this is the cashless society we live in. (My option only) They charge ten percent of your bill as a (10%) service charge which they don't tell you at the beginning of the evening..!!! This is a scam... as a tip should be reflective of the service you received.The service charge is not displayed... Would you tip at a drive through McDonalds - after all you didn't make the meal???? Check your bill - it doesn't add up The service is extremely poor. Be aware of this before you enter and remember you pay tax everyday..... and so should everyone else. You do not have to pay a service charge- This is UK law... ✅✅✅tipping is discretionary... if you don't want to pay, say so

He estado en unos indios tiendas y creo que este es uno de los mejores. El Cordero que tenía era muy tierna y toda la comida para mí y mi esposa estaba muy bueno. Este lugar será regular a partir de ahora llevar y tengo la intención de ir para una comida en casa pronto.

Visited as a party of 3 for a birthday meal on the 4th Jan as per usual the food, service and ambience was second to none. The staff are exceptionally attentive but not intrusive and we never go to any other Indian in this area

First time and everything was perfect. The food, the staff. Will be becoming a regular. There was something on the menu I fancied but the chicken came on the bone, asked the waiter if I could have it off the bone and they said no problem. Already on first name terms! Excellent!

First time at this restaurant, eating here based on personal recommendation and trip advisor reviews. Easy to find and large car park. We ate from the 5 course £9.95 offer and loved it. All food was delicious and plentiful. Pleasant and efficient service. Restaurant also offers a takeaway service which I’m sure we will have to sample! Recommended.

Stepped away from my normal dish today and was not disappointed. Told the staff what types of tastes I like and had their recommendation. Absolutely spot on. Delicious. Accompanied by the lightest fried rice with onions and garlic nan. Staff very welcoming. Checked on us a couple of times to ensure the dish they had recommended was acceptable. Perfect. Me and my partner ( Chez) called in one Thursday evening and were seated straight away . We went for the 5 courses for £9.95 ! We had a mixed starter to share at no extra cost , lovely ! Then both had our mains with extra garlic naan cos it's very morish ! We finished off with ice cream and coffee . Then as we paid up we were offered chocky mints and a Bailey's , wow ! Lovely touch ! Our only little problem was that the heating wasn't on n r lass is a little nesh ! Lol ! ...but we will definitely call again . Cheers Mumbai !

Absolutely love this place, friendly happy staff open the door for you as you arrive, classic Indian restaurant the food is fantastic 3 courses for £9:95 (£10.95 fri & sat) with coffee as well as a baileys with the bill! The food is spot on as is the service is impeccable, as you may guess it's my favourite Indian restaurant in Barnsley....never disappointed.

Me and the husband decided to try here as our usual indian restaurant had applied price increases to everything. We were not disappointed, spent a fraction of the price we normally would and the food was amazing.
