The best Indian I've ever had and I've gone to every one around the southend area. Fully recommend

Ordered from sushi menu. Was told it would be ready in 30mibs. When arrived hadn't started order. They clarified 1 of the dishes was without veg. Took 15mins for order to be done. When got it home even though it said no veg on lid of tub it had veg in it. Food was good but very disorganised and can't follow a request.

3rd time we've been here and once again really impressed. Piping hot foil boxed dishes. You can see everything happening in the kitchen area behind the counter - always a good sign when they're happy for customers to see the cooking going on. All 4 mains tasted great as did the breads and side dishes. Reasonably priced too. Mumbai Central is now our go to place for an Indian takeaway.

Very Very Very Poor Watery Tarka Dahl! Not even the consistency of a soup! Award winning, not sure what award that was.

Thought we’d give this place a try after getting a new menu through the door. Really nice dishes. Not sure some of the “bland” reviews. We thought this was really tasty. If your looking for a new curry house I’d give this a try.

WOW. We haven't had an indian meal for ages and we saw the take away open nearby us and decided to try them out. The food was amazing, the best we've had in a long time. It arrived quickly and was super hot and they even gave us a couple of free Poppadum's which was a really lovely touch. The staff are all friendly, helpful. We will be buying from this take-away again.

I decided to try this take out after a few friends recommended it because they loved the cuisine it offered. I ordered a Set Meal for Four, which was offered at a generous price and I absolutely loved the masala and the rice was cooked beautifully. The service was lovely and delivery was very fast. All food arrived still hot and nothing had been missing. When I called to enquire as I needed help on what to order, the staff were very helpful and nice. All food included was beautifully cooked and authentic, and overall I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Best prawn Bhuna I have ever had. The prawns were cooked to perfection not over cooked and chewy like most Indian takeaways. Very impressed and will be returning.

Tried for the first time tonight. Can't fault it. Had the garlic mix tikka karahi, something I'd never heard of before, and it tasted fantastic. Had a load of side dishes, reasonable price, and it turned up within half an hour, piping hot.

This was the worst Indian I've ever had. Bland tasteless low quality luke warm food that left a.strange after taste. The 'award winning' chef they have must have won an award for the worst chef of the year.

I ordered lamb biryani, chicken tikka masala, veg curry and naan bread. The biryani and chicken masala was tasty and delicious. The lamb was cooked perfectly. The best Indian food i have had so far! I will be ordering again.

TBF, I ordered the same meal as I do from other outlets for a fair comparison. Now, for a new startup with their best chef and "discount"... it was shockingly bland, lacked ingredients and everything had the same (unpleasant) after taste, to the point that I was bored eating it, half went in bin along with the menu. Anyone who thinks this is a good indian should try anywhere else! Far better is available throughout the Southend area for less. I definately will never use again.

We ordered from this takeaway tonight (23/07/2022) after receiving an impressive marketing letter and menu. We thought it was only fair to give this place a go. The letter itself highlights the business’s aim to “exceed customer expectations” and to “set standards for others to follow”. How can we not try this place out? After all, there is already some tough competition in Shoebury when it comes to Indian restaurants! So then, the meal itself. Overall, it was VERY disappointing. The poppadoms were burnt, the sauces were of small portions, and the meat samosas were the equivalent of what you’d get from an Asda ready meal! The ‘Mumbai Special’ did not go down that well at all. You really had to see it to believe it - bland cold lamb with very little sauce. The size of the dish was abysmal too, most of it was just cold random veggies. The dish is advertised on the menu as being hot (spicy), but it was as spicy as a Chicken Korma! Chicken Tikka Masala is usually a good metric to use against Indian takeaways, but when compared to other places, it really isn’t that great at all. I for one certainly won’t be rushing back to try this place out. They claim on the marketing letter that they will “provide the finest Indian food in this area”. What an absolute joke! Save your money and stick to your usual Indian takeaway. On a separate note, the location of this takeaway does have a history of being several different Indian takeouts. The last place was called The Shapla I believe, and before that we had Mr India, YumYum, A Taste of India… the list goes on! Not sure if it’s the same people, but if something doesn’t work, clearly you should do yourself a favour and close for good!

Absolutely appalled by the experience we had on Sat night. Booked a table for 11 people (family came down from Ipswich, a yearly catch up). It was booked a couple of months ago and confirmed on the day. Was never told there were a few sittings. Our meal came fairly quickly and all was good up to that point. As soon as our meal was finished so our bill came which we never asked for as we were still drinking. They never even asked if we wanted a dessert or further drinks. We sat for a short while but was asked to leave as they needed the table. We were fuming as it had only been just over an hour since we got there. A long way to come for an hour. Needless to say we will not be going there again. So please when booking there make sure they tell how long you have.

We visited for my husband‘s birthday. We were a table of five and arrived at 7 pm. On arrival. We were the only diners in the restaurant. Three other tables were occupied by the time that we left 9 pm. This was a sat night. The menu has changed fewer choices or maybe fewer fine dining choices. The signature dish seemed to be the steak either steak on the stone or cooked so we opted for steak. The menu even contains a little joke. “Don’t ask the chef to cook well or medium well “ I opted for medium rare so when it arrived, I struggled to find the pink meat. I also ordered some garlic bread for our daughters, it arrived smothered in cheese but no mention that it would have cheese both daughters don’t eat cheese . The waiting staff require additional training. A female server. Didn’t even apologise when I complained about my steak instead told me it would be a further 15 minutes for a new piece , that wouldn’t work as everyone else had been served. They would’ve been nearly finished when mine arrived. Her solution was to scrap the order all together, but I came to a restaurant to eat. That wasn’t a good solution, the senior server, or maybe the manager later came over and offered to compensate for the steaks and provided a discount, which is really good of him, the chips could’ve been triple cooked for that crispy restaurant feel they suspiciously look like they may have come out of a packet also . After we complained about the steaks, we didn’t receive any additional service. We had to request a desert menu, being gluten-free. I asked what was gluten-free on the menu. I was told nothing it’s not completely unusual but usually you’re offered either ice cream or sorbet. We had the feeling that we were no longer wanted so forfeited the deserts for our table of five, asked for the bill and left, one of our diners was in a wheelchair, no point did anyone offer to open the door so we navigate of the double doors ourselves and left disappointed . Positively the cocktails and the beers were delicious. My recommendation would be hire some staff that smile or are attentive, become a bar and do what you are good at. This used to be one of my husband’s favourite restaurants in Southend. I’m not sure will visit again though. Bad times!

The waitress was an absolute star, she persevered with two pensioners. The fish and chips were a tad disappointing, though the fish was well cooked, the chips were suffering from anaemia. I would struggle to describe the mushy peas but my wife's side salad was brilliant. All in all, a little disappointing, though we would go again.
