Was away for the weekend and came across this restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and made you feel welcome. We even returned the following day to try out the Sunday buffet. There was plenty of choice, and the food was piping hot. Will definitely be returning when visiting Swansea again.

A little gem hidden away off a busy holiday area. Went in the evening with my wife and son. The Resturant is well set out well decorated and comfortable .The staff very pleasant well turned out informative and nothing is too much trouble .The food itself was A1 in appearance ,quantity and quality We had the usual poappofoms to start Two of us had chicken Madala lovely well cooked chicken sauce to die for My son had a vegetarian option which he stated was A1 Alittle on the pricy side but the quality and quantity was second to none

Great staff , very friendly . Ordered 4 kormas 1 dansak 1 masala and various sides . Just 2 of the korma meats were boiled as the chewyness resembled the dinosaur in the chewit advert of the 80s . Apart from that would definitely return time and rime again .

Family and I called into the restaurant for a Sunday Buffet. The restaurant had an excellent choice of meat and vegetable curries. Very clean environment with friendly and courteous staff. The buffet was fresh and regularly replenished by the kitchen staff. A special mention to the manager Ali who is excellent at his job at front of house. He meets and greets all customers and nothing was too much trouble for him and his team. A*

The restaurant is cool and classy yet really comfortable and easy going. Plenty of room on the big tables as the layout of the room is well thought out. I was a little worried as I’d not been there before and I’m a wheelchair user. I had plenty of room to manoeuvre and sit at the table so I needn’t have worried. We started off with drinks. We all had a refreshing pint of lime and soda and was offered a menu. We had a popadom and chutney tray to share as a starter. There were 3 of us and they gave us 6 popadoms. And about 5 or 6 different dips. Well that was a fab sharing starter as we chose our mains. With a little help from the exceptionally warm friendly staff we negotiated what kind of meals and how spicy we should go and settled for 3 different meals so that we could each have a share of each others. We only ordered 2 different portions of rice as we thought that would be enough and one Garlic Naan bread. My daughter ordered a prawn vindaloo something or other curry, my son a lamb vindaloo curry and I had (at the recommendation of the waiter) a chicken tika saag naga … oh my … I must say the chef was amazing, all 3 mains were so nice. They were all pretty spicey (but we do like spicy as we spend a lot of time in Thailand) but they were definitely not too spicy. The naan bread was so good and he said tge chef makes everything himself. It was close but everyone though my main was maybe the best. But, like I sad it was close. Everything was delicious and we were stuffed. It all came to about £60 so we obviously left a tip. We were talking about it and planning our next trip there all the way home. We went there for my son’s birthday but we definitely won’t be waiting for his next one 😉

The staff are attentive and informed and nothing is too much trouble, Waz is an absolute class act, friendly and personable and respectful to all dietary needs and allergies. Probably the worst Indian restaurant we have been in and we have been in a few over the years…….. Finding ourselves in Swansea we decide to have a meal out and go looking for an Indian Restaurant and come across the Mumbai Restaurant and reading the good reviews on Trip Advisor I though why not give it a go …….. Should have carried onto to Mumbles and go to the one on the Main Road of Oystermouth……. We entered the restaurant and was quite impressed with the surroundings and general mood of the place and was shown to our table straight away and as there was only 6 other people there this was easy enough. We had the food and drinks menu and on perusal my wife was impressed to see that they served cocktails and ordered a “Sex on the Beach” but when it came it was probably the smallest cocktail we have seen. Less of a “Sex On The Beach and more of a “Peck On The Promenade”….. We ordered the usual 4 Poppadum’s and chutney tray for £8.00 a little expensive we thougt and really only the mint ratha, onions and the Mango chutney was actually edible as the red spicy chutney and the congelled coconut red stuff was not palatable. The starter of Onion Bahji was very nice and a large size portion (4) and was quite nice indeed so we were very hopeful. Then the problem started when the order of Chicken Pasanda and another of Handi Chicken arrived and the waiter said that he “thinks” that this is the Handi and this is the Passanda as they looked the same…….. On putting these down with the chips and rice I could see exactly what he meant as they looked identical and I have twins so I know all about identical or different….. Now I like a butter chicken and my wife likes the mild fruity passanda and on tasting the food we were surprised to see that they were exactly the same and I mean EXACTLY the same….Both meals were the buttery chicken that I ordered and no wonder he could not tell the difference himself. I called over the head waiter and politely informed him that both of these meals were the same and his reply of “I am sure they are not Sir”……… Well they look identical, taste identical and both even had cashew nuts in them and both tasted exactly the same and even on a blind taste I could not tell the difference….. We have Passanda almost at every restaurant we go to and this was definitely not the usual sweet mild curry with almonds we have and it definitely does not come with a buttery taste…... THEY WERE THE SAME !!!!! Then came the deal cruncher of the night as his reply of “ I am sorry Sir but I have no control over the kitchen and if they said its two separate meals then they are two separate meals even though they look the same and If you want another one we can but it will be the same as that as it’s a Passanda” I had the impression that he was afraid to go back and tell the chef as he then said the “Manager is not here till later I am sorry”………. I guess that the “BUFFET NIGHT” they host on a Sunday will be a piece of cake for the chef if all the curries taste and look the same and only have different names as he can cook a batch and just spoon it out into different pots…… I think I will give Sunday a miss. So as we were on a time schedule I decided to eat mine and leave the other one and my wife just ate the Saag Aloo, rice and chips instead of the “Passanda”. As a note on the meal we were given I would say that it lacked any real depth of flavor and was very similar to a gravy for a Sunday dinner in both looks and temperature. A poor spiced curry and would be better served over a chips from a fish and chip take away for a couple of pound a pot. As for the Passanda ….. I really wouldn’t know !!!!!!! Then on finishing up the meal we were expecting to have the passanda taken off the bill but no we were actually charged for that as well. We decided that we would not make a fuss and to simply pay the bill in full of course less our usual tip and to vow to never darken the doors of the Mumbai again. And to top it all off we were not shown out of the restaurant like the previous customers and basically treated badly for us to dare ask for the correct meal and some common curtesy. The motto of the story is simply that despite doing your homework on a place to eat it’s really how they perform on the night that you go there that we can judge it on, sadly on this occasion we were let down. Do yourself a favour and carry on down to Mumbles and try the Indian on the front at Oystermouth as I know that I will be doing it next time. PS. The one star I gave is for the decor of the place as it offered so much and yet it was all fur coat and no ......... You get the picture.....!!!!!!!

*My recent visit to Mumbai Indian Kitchen was nothing short of a harrowing nightmare for my entire family. I feel compelled to share the complete truth of our experience to raise awareness and call for immediate action.* *The service at Mumbai Indian Kitchen was deplorable. Not only were staff members unresponsive and inattentive, but they also subjected my family to racially discriminatory remarks and offensive behavior. To make matters worse, we were pushed and verbally abused, with restaurant staff instructing us to leave the premises. This aggression was directed at my wife, two small children, my father and me, leaving us traumatized and deeply hurt.* *The already terrible experience was compounded by the dismal quality of the food. It was evident that little care or attention was given to the preparation of the dishes. Our meals were tasteless, poorly cooked, and far below the basic standards of any restaurant.* * In addition to the appalling behavior, I discovered a mosquito inside my food, which is not only unsanitary but also dangerous for diners. It's unfathomable that such negligence can exist in a food establishment.* *The staff's disruptive and inappropriate behavior further contributed to our anguish. Their loud and disrespectful conduct made an already distressing situation unbearable.* *My family and I should never have been subjected to such a horrifying experience. We were customers, expecting nothing more than a pleasant meal in a safe and welcoming environment. Instead, we encountered racism, verbal abuse, poor service, food of substandard quality, hygiene issues, and a complete lack of respect for basic customer rights. also after this happen they don't want to give me bill because they know now i will doing complain about them.* *I implore the management of Mumbai Indian Kitchen to take immediate and comprehensive action to address these grave issues. They must conduct anti-racism training for their staff, implement stringent hygiene and quality control measures, and ensure that such incidents are never repeated.* *In summary, our visit to Mumbai Indian Kitchen was an excruciating ordeal marked by racism, verbal abuse, deplorable service, subpar food quality, hygiene issues, and disruptive staff. I urge everyone to reconsider dining here until the restaurant addresses these severe problems and takes the necessary steps to ensure the safety, dignity, and enjoyment of all patrons. also i include some picture of proof.*

We used to visit the Sunday buffet regularly before the place caught fire and everything was good. We visited this Sunday buffet and was very disappointed and will not go to the Mumbai restaurant again, Chicken Tikka masalla was tasteless, Chicken Jalfrezi was much too spicy as was the rest of the dishes,at £16.95 per head it was overpriced, poor value and I had diahorea for the following 2days, never again I will stick with the Anarkarli, one of the best in Swansea. The Mumbai was very quiet compared to how it used to be on what should've been a busy evening on the Swansea air show, which says it all. Never again.

Our first visit today and what a great meal! Decor was lovely but food was just delicious. We even enjoyed the salad that came with the starters. I had the samosas for starter which were lovely and fresh, my daughter enjoyed the onion baji. The king prawn saag I had for main was so full of flavour with fresh ingredients and lots of prawns. OVER PRICED FOOD .. SALTY AND OILY Fishcakes were tiny, over salted and like bullets. Sea Bass(?) was on the bone and so bony it was dangerous, small bones in the sauce made a health hazard. It was not described on menu as being a whole fish. Sauce was tasty. Onion bhajis were tiny and below average. Chicken tikka masala was oily and taste was average at best. Mushroom rice was good. All in all overpriced for a poor meal. Won't be using them again.

I ordered a takeaway for 4 people this August and was a bit surprised that the person taking to order over the phone couldn't tell me the cost. I didn't have a current menu to hand or else I could have worked it out. Anyway when I picked the meal up I was surprised at the high price, especially when I opened the cartons at home. The curries were absolutely swimming in water and were extremely poor value for money. Perhaps the chef was having a bad night, whatever I shan't be bothering this restaurant again.

Used to love going here years ago but not been for a long time. Staff were disorganised but the industry has had a difficult time so we made allowances. Then the food came. Worst curry I've ever had. Tasteless like a jar of sauce from a supermarket but worse than that, the prawns were unrecognisable as prawns. My friend sent her's back and had chicken instead which was tough and arrived quicker than anything else and suspiciously piping hot. I left mine and said why at the end of our meal. He got the manager who was patronising and dismissive. I was polite and discursive just explaining why I had left my meal. His rudeness was unnecessary and inappropriate. When we got home we realised they had received a zero hygiene rating. It's surprising it's so popular. There are many many better Indian restaurants in Swansea.

Most expensive takeaway I have ever had ...... Over £29 for two main meals and peshwari naan. The food was distinctly average. If the food had been exceptional then I would have accepted the cost, but sadly it wasn’t.

We visited on the 29th December which was a December which meant the buffet was on. This was great for us because we were all starving! We were 4 adults and two young children (one 3 and one 12).The poppadoms, chutney tray and chips were great. Unfortunately, that's pretty much where it ended. In fact, the chicken tikka masala tasted absolutely nothing like it should have and the korma was terrible and watery. Then, one of the females in our party found a hair in her food :( Not nice.I appreciate that when food is cooked on a larger scale that some quality can be lost, but this was probably the worst curry I've had in a Swansea Indian. I'm not usually the type to complain but I mentioned it to the waitor when he was clearing away the plates and his response was "we've had 200 other people in here today and none of them complained". Not good. Then we got the bill. They knocked off one of the meals, but we were paying £11 for each adult and £8.75 for the kids (who only ate a few chips and prawn crackers between them). Also, a large Coke was £4.80!!! On getting home I found that the restaurant has a 1 out of 5 Scores on the Doors rating. I would never have visited if I'd have known this beforehand but I must admit, I'm not surprised.

My Dhal was awful, I honestly make a great one at home my Sri Lankan friend taught me and the one here was literally just yellow water that tasted like chicken super noodles SO much salt and way too much garlic- don’t get me wrong I love salt and garlic but this was inedible and was just liquid! Basically no chick peas or anything. Our korma and Masala had (and I am not kidding) no flavor.. like- at all! Couldn’t taste a thing and had to add salt just to try and eat it. We ordered a chutney tray that wasn’t there and they gave us the wrong rice. I have Easter here before and thought it wasn’t amazing but was alright but now I’ll never bother again. I don’t care how close they are, I would rather drive to Mumbles and have something worth paying for. In addition- my dog wouldn’t even eat it.

Food wasn’t flavourful as thought. Spicy chips weren’t even tasty. It was bland and bitter. It was just covered in chilli powder. Many other local takeaways do better. And other foods were good no complaints but not good as expected for such restaurant. It seems like they invest more in decor than their food.

We have used Mint since they opened. They had a slight dip in quality recently, however, that has passed. I ordered tonight for my husband and me. Last few times I have moaned about my spicy poppadoms being burnt. Tonight, my delivery driver was the owner of Mint. He apologised for the problem with the poppadoms. We were given extra poppadoms and a selection of chutneys free of charge. The food was amazing, back to usual. I can highly recommend this outlet. Best Curry in Swansea.

It's a shame I can't give a better rating. As a lover and self proclaimed connoisseur of Indian food, Rasoi has all the makings of a fine establishment, however... Staff need better training. On multiple occasions simple questions RE dishes have had to be relayed by the serving staff to the chefs as the staff are unsure on menu items. Curries have been wrongly served to guests.. again, it's the servers job to get these things right. Also had a bad experience with there weekend lunch offer once. Nowhere does it state that they close the kitchen for 2 hours at 3pm. Our booking was for 2.45, so 5 minutes after sitting down we were told we MUST order now before the chefs finish for their break. They shouldn't accept bookings at these times if their going to proceed to rush customers. The menu for the lunch menu is also confusing and easily misconstrued leading to a more expensive bill. This all being said. The curries are fine. The breads are nice and fresh, chutney trays are good too. Portions are a little low, but that's pretty normal these days for dine in upmarket Indian restaurants. I would say it's worth a visit for a nicer occasion as the restaurant is nice. Just bare in mind the service issues that can occur.

We have been coming to Rose Indienne for many years, but last night some of the food and service was disappointing. One of the waiters was disrespectful to one of our guests with a disability.
