First class cuisine with excellent service

I looked at all the 5 star reviews and went to the place but looks like the reviews are fake. The staff who showed himself as the manager was super rude and asked us to either keep the bottle on the bar table or “Get out”. Not recommended at all!! I instead went to “Agra Indian Cuisine” they have good food.

Probably the best Indian restaurant in Belfast. Recommended. Lamb cooked with spinach was the best!

I don’t know to where to start and how to start. First of all the guys who are eating here just wanted to say that food being served is not Indian cuisine but Bangladeshi food. No one in the world serves you a biryani with potato curry. Moreover they are just adding up chicken pieces in some kind of sona masoori rice and selling it as biryani here. First of all biryani is cooked with basmati rice and starter was also didn’t Upto mark. What I Would like to convey is all those who Irish/British people eating here from all these days are actually eating bangladeshi food not INDIAN FOOD. I would have given 1/2 star if it was there, literally after spending £50 on food you will get kids portion of food. I would really not recommend this place for Indian food lovers.

Nice restaurant with very attentive staff. Went for the 2 course lunch menu with my sister. We both had same starter of potato fritters which came in an edible basket and hot sauce and was delicious. I had the vegetable jalfrezi and she had chicken jalfrezi. Tasty and well presented. Could have done with more rice and less if the jalfrezi but excellent value for £13.95. Nice Chilean white wine for £23. Used to come here years ago for lunch when they did a 2 course lunch for £6 .......changed times but same beautiful food!

Food was very nice, but I've had better, there again. I've had far worse. However, we felt extremely rushed, wanted you in, wanted you out ASAP, and that message came across via the staff after the initial pleasantries...If it was my local Indian I wouldn't be returning . Expensive in my opinion, even accounting for city prices. Good job my brother paid.

Quite poor really Ordered onion bhaji starter and was presented with some rubbish processed reformed shapes which were probably out of the freezer and deep fried. Service quite slow (although busy Saturday night). Don't do popadums and keema nan wasn't great. Main course bland and not massive portions. Pleasant staff. Won't be returning. Definitely in my bottom 10% of Indian restaurants visited

First time here and everything was amazing. The staff were so attentive and knew everything about the menu. They were all so polite and friendly. I had the pleasure of speaking with Sagiv who was so kind and made the experience. Will definitely be back and recommending to everyone.

The food is exceptional but there aren't enough stars for the service, I would highly recommend for date night, we made feel like we were the only customers. Will definitely be back!

I don't normally do reviews but feel the need to do one for Mumbai 27 is a must. Firstly the waiter that took our order was rude, I used to be a waiter and would never speak to a customer like i was spoken too. I always show respect to waiting staff but this guy took the biscuit from seating us to taking our order. He was not happy with not taking our order straight after drinks order, which had not arrived.The food itself they are trying to make it fine dining, definitely not fine dining. If you are used to traditional indian/Bangladeshi restaurants than I would suggest find another. The Bhaji starter was so dry it would taken your fillings out. The curries we ordered was the Ghost Saag and Mix Vegetables ( seasonal) they was not fresh. The restaurant does not do Poppadoms or Roti which is a healthier option for some. Service charge is added , we don't mind paying but One would expect good service, chocolate and hand wipes for an automatic service charge added to your bill. I have eat at many Indian restaurants from a back street one to high end ones, and my custom is appreciated, but this place made us feel unwelcome.

The food is very nice but I only get a takeaway and there is no takeaway menu. The price for Takeaway is the same price for sit-in. They should consider a Takeaway menu as there is many reasons why customers choose not to sit in.

Really bad service from the staff who was asian and speaking hindi . We came around 9 o'clock and he was hurry to take orders. We understand they was closing their kitchen but they cant snatch menu from hand and speak rudely(not welcoming at all). We all was really excited to eat good dinner and he was just talking like come and just have it whatever you want that kind of attitude staff had . Unacceptable behaviour and attitude we got from that only one staff . He doesn't know how to give restaurant customers service. Not recommend at all for this kind of customer service. If you cant make it dinner in hurry you can just say we are closed. We can go any other places. But please dont be rude with customer. Because I have my own business in United Kingdom's. Atleast I accept some respect .

Good service, good food and nice place.

1st time here, stunning food, as a fan of Indian cuisine, this was up there with some of the best I have tried. Menu a little lacking for choice but what was was of great quality. On street parking after 6pm free, would recommend to book as very busy when I was there. Overall, service a little slow but friendly.

Absolutely amazing. Food was delicious and service terrific. The venison start was really really good.

Went with friends for a Christmas outings and it was good. Service was good and we didn't have to wait too long. They had a Set menu so we all got a starter and mains and a few sides to share. No complaints about the food but to be honest it was a little on the expensive side I thought. Give it a go.

Food was fantastic excellent service. Only got a 4 because there were no poppadoms. Don't know if this is because it was a Christmas menu 🤔

Food was ok and we cleaned our plates, the issue was we had just finished our Main course and a waiter informed us the party he had booked in for our table were waiting!!! While there were 2 tables who had finished, beside us were sitting having drinks? Didnt even get a chance to look at the dessert menu!!! Very rushed and it was quite noisy. Wouldnt rush back! Cost them two £20 vouchers as one of our party complained!

Good was great, the staff were very friendly, it’s a slightly crowded venue which means it’s noisy. But still a very good place to eat at.

Overpriced food, have to pay separately for your sides. When I received my bill the guy Sat beside me until it was paid, really made to feel uncomfortable.

Service : Three of us were here to have our dinner. Islam was the one who took our order. He was so so arrogant while taking the orders, he was not even ready to tell the ingredients and contents of the dishes. One of our friends was keen in knowing the contents in the dish as she was allergic to few of the ingredients. And the exact statement he made "this is what we have - whatever you see in the menu". He didn't have the minimum patience to listen to our enquiries. After reporting this incident, another waiter was assigned for us and he was very polite and respectful. He clearly mentioned the available and suitable dishes for us. One of my friends was still having the dinner and other two of us had completed. The same waiter Islam again came and started cleaning the table though one of our friends was still having dinner. We felt like he was waiting for us to get out of the hotel. Food : Mumbai street food was awesome. Veg biriyani tasted amazing😍. Garlic nan and vegetable lavra was good.

Update (November 2023): as great as ever, love this place! Delicious Indian restaurant in the trendy Cathedral Quarter area of Belfast city centre. I went with workmates and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the Chicken Jalfrezi and loved it - highly recommended if you like a strong spicy kick in your curry like me. We got shared rice and naan bread for our table. Incredibly fast service - we had drinks within five minutes of sitting down and food within 20 minutes. Very impressive. Very friendly staff are happy to help in whatever way they can, whether that be a query about the menu or another drink. The prices are very reasonable also. Good location, excellent food and great staff - what more could you want? Highly recommended!

THE worst level of service I have ever experienced ANYWHERE. ZERO warmth, sniggering, disrespect, rushed 'service', no apologies for not having dishes available that were the reason I had come. You have no IDEA how TERRIBLE the staff here are, especially the one who looks like Count Dracula. AVOID at ALL costs!!!!!

A fantastic experience from the warm and lovely greeting at the door, to the waiting staff... Attentive professional and obviously happy to be there. Then the food, I count on one hand the great Indian restaurants I have been into and this has to be one off them. Delicate dishes, cooked with skill, style and thought, everything was perfect!

Indisches Restaurant in zentraler Lage, um die Ecke sind angesagte, moderne Pubs, vor der Tür eine größere Kirche. Im Restaurant ist es Recht eng, die zwei-Personen-Tische mit durchsichtigen Gardinen getrennt. An der Wand sind typisch historisch-indische Frauendarstellungen, das as WC ist sauber und allgemein ist die Einrichtung wertig. Das Essen ist sehr lecker. Die Auswahl ist überschaubar, aber die typischen Gerichte sind vorhanden. Die Soßen sind genau richtig scharf für einen Europäer, es zieht durch die Nase, aber für Zunge brennt nicht. Das Nan-Brot ist frisch und zart, wer mit Knoblauch bestellt, wird nicht enttäuscht. Die Bedienung ist freundlich, besonders zuvorkommend ist sie aber nicht, ergo ok.

Large work night out with 30 colleagues, set it up with a long banquet table and it worked really well, food was spot on and atmosphere was great , excellent night.

Food was fantastic (got the cheese starter, garlic naan, and shrimp coconut curry with extra spice). The staff were very attentive and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. Excellent vibes (lighting, seating arrangements, curtains between tables for privacy). Would definitely go back!

Wildly overpriced and rude service. £16.95 for one of the cheaper dishes of chicken in sauce with no sides - plus £3.50 for plain basmati rice or £4.50 for chips.

We popped in here to get a quick bite before a gig nearby and ordered two cocktails. Once we realised sides were around £4-6 on top of mains costing £14-17 and cocktails close to £10 per person, we decided we would head on after the drinks, and staff immediately went from abrupt to extremely rude, hostile and heckling. Completely unnecessary when we were planning to leave immediately anyway, so in the end we paid more or less £20 for the privilege of two (average) cocktails and 5 minutes sitting at a table, and being chased out the door by an angry waiter when there was no more money to be squeezed out of us. Terrible service, wouldn't recommend, won't be back.

I've been here a few times and never once had a bad experience. The food is incredible, they even made me a dish that wasn't on the menu at no extra cost, and the waiters are incredibly attentive.

Food was good! Unfortunately, the poor service is the taste left in my mouth. Our server was abrupt, unwelcoming and quite frankly miserable. Sadly, a disappointing experience.

First visit and most definitely the last. Staff were rude and had no time for you at all. Everything was a hassle. They got the order completely wrong. Did supposedly change it to again supposedly what we ordered but the meal.came back exactly the same colour and consistency with different vegetables. Was extremely busy but that is no indication of how good their food is or their staff. NOT worth a visit in our opinion!!

Food was lovely, really enjoyed it. But the service was not great. Found the waiter to be quite rude.

The food was good but the service was soo bad that when we asked for desert menu they asked us to leave as they wanted that table for a reservation. I do work in hospitality I know how things work but telling customers in between the meal to leave is soo rude, unacceptable and unprofessional. If the table was for reservation they could have said that before allotting that table to us. We were very unhappy with the staff and the way they treated us.

Shocking prices for a carry out. Completely my fault as I ordered the meal, paid by tap-and-go without looking properly at the amount, and realised afterwards how much I had paid. I'm blaming it on the Guiness. I realised pretty well straight away, and I could have gone back to cancel the order, but couldn't be doing with the hassle of organising a refund and trying to find a different Indian. You tell me. Here's the order and say if you think it's too much. 2 x chicken tikka starters 2 x rogan josh & rice 1 x naan Go on, how much you reckon? Take a guess. £25? £30 tops? No, £58. Yes £58 actual pounds! And they didn't even have a disposable fork to eat it with. Bottom line: was the meal super dooper for that amount? Not really. OK, but I can make a better one at home. I know, I know, my fault for not cancelling when I had the chance but it was the Guiness making me hungry so it seemed a good idea at the time. Bad Guiness.

Love, love, love this place. This was our 2nd visit and it won’t be our last. Yes, as others have said, the waiters are quick to ask for a drinks order, but I wouldn’t say they were pushy, I’d say attentive. I had the scallops for starters, which were hot, but the depth of flavours was fantastic. I had the monkfish for my main, which was sweet and juicy. The restaurant was quite quiet when we went in at 7.00 on a Tuesday evening, but by the time we left, the place was full and absolutely buzzing. I never felt rushed at any time, in fact, we had to ask for our bill twice. Loved the food, loved the service.

As an Indian can verify that this place had better tasting food compared to Nu Delhi which seems to be extremely popular in Belfast

Not authentic indian food, it's more of Bangladeshi cuisine just like majority of the Indian restaurants run in the UK. Just giving Mumbai name to the restaurant doesn't make it indian food. Garlic naan was not freshly made, felt like supermarket bought n heated. Veg main dish was terrible, it was more of stir fry few vegetables with lots of masala but no taste n no salt to it. Only acceptable thing was steamed rice I would say. Bad experience overall on a bank holiday evening.

Had a wonderful meal here recently whilst staying over due to a cancelled flight. Food was exceptional - I had the lamb shank. Highly recommended!

Possibly the pushiest, least effective service I have ever experienced. The waiter asked for our drink orders before we had even got our jackets off, then again a minute later. Didn’t bother mentioning that what we assumed were placemats were in fact a la carte menus, until we asked if there were any alternatives to the “specials” menu on display. Plates whipped away the moment they were cleared and more pushy “will you have dessert?” (dessert menu produced after we said we’d think about it). The place was only half full, there was no need to hurry us up this way! A chicken curry, a half portion of chickpea curry (both mediocre), one naan, one beer, one wine and one ice cream came to £70. I felt robbed.

This restaurant came up on our google search. Glad we went in for our dinner. It was one of the best food we had in a long while. Everything was above our expectations from there customer service to food, ambiance . The owner was extremely friendly and cheerful. He served us complimentary drinks and even showed us around his restaurant/ kitchen.

It was very busy on a Saturday evening, but we were lucky and managed to get a table for 2. Fortunately, because the food really exceeded all our expectations. Chicken and lamb main courses taken on recommendation, really delicious, what a spicy taste explosion. And the dessert, the 'homemade Indian sweets' were so delicious that we just ordered them again. Service was just a bit too busy, and was therefore rushed. But if they serve such dishes fairly quickly, you will quickly forget that.

Been going here for years, the food is divine, the service is fast and efficient, price wise it is the same as any other restaurant in the Cathedral Quarter area but you get what you pay for as with most things in life. Best Indian cuisine around, good vegetarian menu also for those who are that way inclined, would highly recommend this place to anyone!

The person taking the booking over the phone was extremely rude. Arriving we were seated and in minutes someone was trying to take our order, we hadn’t even opened the menu! The staff weren’t rude but they rushed every step of our visit and it felt like they were trying to get us out, even though on the phone I was told we had the table for 1.5hrs and we didn’t even stay an hour. The food was bland, I’ve never eaten in an Indian restaurant and had such flavourless food. Complete waste of money.

This restaurant had been recommended to us and the food did not disappoint. The service... no eye contact, no smile, no thank you when given a tip. We wished we had not bothered! We were told to order quickly as they were closing in 40 minutes. That is as far as interactions went. The staff could do with some training in hospitality and manners!

This place was recommended to me by the barkeep over at Harp (heya Sean!), who mentioned that his wife's family, being Indian, loved it there. So we took that as a good tip, and went over. Wowza! The food was excellent, and not over-the-top spicy (although I was impressed when the Indian guy a table over ordered his food "Mumbai Spicy"). There was a general heat to the dishes, but not unpleasant at all. Check out the Mumbai street food for appetizers, or even the Deshi Bhaji (onion/noodles fritters). I wanted curry, and wasn't disappointed; also the biriyani was excellent. Our server Islam was kind and patient with us, although there were a host of servers who swooped in over the night with him that were equally wonderful. I was a touch surprised to see beef on the menu, and probably should have asked if that was a thing, but was having too good a time to get bogged down. Oh -- and get the traditional Indian sweets for dessert. You can always get brownies or something elsewhere. These were homemade, and hit the spot.

Had an excellent meal and the service was great. Can't fault it.

The food is excellent, however the low rating is because it's not a kid-friendly restaurant or better to say in their own words -"We don't welcome kids/toddlers after 6:30 pm". In our booking, we had clearly mentioned we have a toddler, and the booking was confirmed by them, however while leaving ~6:45 pm, we were told that they don't cater to kids after 6:30 pm. Well, for such scenarios they should explicitly mention it on their website, or mention it while making reservations or mention it on their entry door, so that families (especially with kids) can make their own choice.

food as always superb, the staff treated us like we were the only ones there.. we weren't. We left it up to the staff to choose our food as our party was that of 9 and we were too hungry to wait to go through the menus and what they brought out was perfect.

Tonight was the first time visiting this restaurant. Service from the minute we walked through the door was excellent. Don't be put off by the lack of common dishes like in other similar establishments. We ordered a few dishes which we had not heard of and the descriptions didn't really help us visualise. However, every dish we ordered tonight was absolutely devine. The quality and flavour of the food was miles ahead of others. My only issue was that waitors were a little too quick to top up our alcohol (possibly a tactic to encourage us order more drinks and possibly more often?) That being said, I would go back to this restaurant in a heartbeat!! Thank you x

Having read previous reviews on here I was very apprehensive about visiting but It was the total opposite I was surprised the staff were polite without being pushy nothing was ever a problem as we had a wheelchair user in our party our waiter even helped her to the taxi!! The only thing I don’t agree with is the 10% service charge on the very bottom of bill as I work in hospitality myself it should be the guest choice, apart from that fabulous hot delicious food!!!

Food was fantastic especially this starter shared platter..I sadly missed name of it. All staff friendy and efficient...although my friends who had beer saw plenty of service for drinks as I was on soft drinks oddly I was not given same attention, but thats a minor thing. Would recommend

I went to Mumbai 27 for my Birthday. The food was delicious. The decor was beautiful and the seating was very comfortable. The ambience was great. Brilliant service and lovely staff. The best indian restaurant I have ever been to. Mumbai 27 is definitely a 5* restaurant ❤️

Food was nice but the experience was not Our waiter only advised us that the kitchen was closing after he delivered our drink order "Main course only. Kitchen closing in 2 minutes" The experience was completely rushed and felt as though the staff wanted to close up

We had booked for a table of 8 people . 7 of us arrived at the same time and 1 person was running a little late. We were seated but constantly questioned about the 8th person despite reassurance they were on their way. Our food...

I came in at 1:30 and was rushed to order and then finish the food. They only told me they were closing at 2 after serving me the first course. Disagreeable experience overall.
