1st time we ordered, we waited an hour and a half then when it came one of the dishes was chicken instead of lamb, rang to complain and they didn't want to know. 2nd time decided to collect, still wasn't ready, waited 40 mins and they still managed to have rice missing with one of the dishes, average food, awful service, will never go back!

Loved Jasmine's food, great taste, superb standard of Indian food. Entirely recommend the papadums/poppadoms with dips (they do a powdered version of ground coconut with added flavours to accompany the usual chutneys etc - never tried elsewhere and it really is something special!!).

We have been eating at Jasmine both in the restaurant and takeaway for a number of years and their food is always of a consistently high standard. The staff are always delightful and eager to please. It is a byo restaurant which makes for a great value night out either for a couple or a group. When ordering takeaways we have never experienced any delays when collecting the food and we do this at least once a month. There are many other eateries in the immediate vicinity but we find Jasmine very hard to beat for taste, value and service - we would highly recommend you try it!

This is a BYO and is a great Indian restaurant. The food is second to none, there is a wide variety and one person in our party who doesn't particularly like Indian food was well-catered for. The service was really good and we had a great time - will definitely be back.

I ordered a takeaway from the Jasmin on Saturday night at 6.08pm after waiting an hour and twenty minutes I phoned to be told that the driver was leaving now and they were busy, forty minutes later the food arrived, two hours after ordering, the starter was cold, and the curry sauce was only half full, very poor service and really average food for the price we paid. I don't like leaving bad reviews but this was dreadful.

Called in before Christmas and ordered takeaway and when i got home there was no Garlic Nan which I ordered. Next time i called back I mentioned to one of the guys in the restaurant, they apologised, didnt charge me for the bread and gave me a free beer. Best customer service in Belfast and the food is theeeeeeeee best Indian food in Belfast by far. Nice guys, great service and great atmosphere.

I'm cynical about Indian food as often it seems much of a muchness, But this is different. There's a deftness/lightness to the food here. Dishes are bursting with flavor, not just spice. The service is great, the staff obliging and easy parking on the streets around. Great Indian cuisine , and they also do takeaway.

I've been to many Indian Restraunts in Belfast, usually once every 3/4 weeks. Some good, Some Average, but none has surpassed the Quality and Flavour that Jasmine offers, the staff are super friendly and the BYO option makes it an ideal choice, situated between bars in Ballyhackamore it's perfect for a few pints after a wonderful meal, I can not speak more highly of this Restraunt, I will be back very soon indeed.

Ive had a few Indians in Belfast, from sitting in and taking out, tried some on the Lisburn road and some on the outskirts of Belfast. I would normally go by friends advice but I still hadn't tasted a dish yet that would make me go back for more! A few months back I tried the Jasmine restaurant as my partner suggested it. I hadn't had Indian in a while for the reason that I hadn't found any nice ones. And I was pleasantly surprised! From the moment you walk in to the friendly staff and warm welcome to the food itself I cannot fault the Jasmine. I would usually order the same two dishes of Chicken Korma and Tikka Masala, however we have tried some of the hotter dishes of Madras. The korma is perfectly creamy and sweet and something I always love to have with a tikka masala. Chicken tikka masala is the one dish I would be fussy about, as I love to have it quite "tangy" but with a slight kick, and that's exactly what I got! Needless to say as well portioned as the dishes are I manage to finish every last bit when my partner and I order a take away. It really is worth the trip! Whether you choose to sit in and enjoy the cosy atmosphere or have it in the comfort of your home I would highly recommend this Indian restaurant! We'll be there at least once a week if not more now I know how good it is!

Had a take away delivered from this store. Will not be back. Took over an hour to arrive and when arrived it was awful.Chicken tikka kebab was bland and had a weird texture.Brother had asked for no onions. His kebab came with onions shredded through. There was no way he could've picked it out. But he tried the meat anyway and it was dry and grim. Didn't eat it.Really disappointed

plus points its BYO and always had delicious meals here. I go here regularly with friends as it is on my doorstep at Ballyhackamore. One friend is a vegan and particulary likes to go here as they are very accomodating and she still has a choice of dishes. Only ever had one complaint and that was that the popadoms too soggy, they were quickly replaced with fresh ones. Restaurant is quite small so likely if it is a busy weekend night you will be asked to vacate your table after dining. Would definitely recommend and I have visited many times!

I must say that I am the critic of many an Indian restaurant, and believe me, I've ate in many Indian restaurants.I was very pleasantly surprised after going to this little "jewel in the crown" restaurant at Ballyhackamore, Belfast. And I will definitely return again soon.I ordered the king prawn puri to start, which was a very good portion, and very delicious, full of giant king prawns, next I had the king prawn Madras, with garlic naan, which hit every tastebud ive ever had, absolutely delicious, and at a very reasonable price as its bring your own wine. The staff are all very polite, hanging coats up for you, putting your own wine in there fridge, pouring drinks. We were made to feel very welcome. This restaurant is definitely worth going to, and I will be back for sure

We went here at short notice having found our intended restaurant fully booked (more of that in a separate review). Quite quiet initially but livened up towards the end. Really enjoyed my sizzling platter and my wife enjoyed her chicken dish although the mossala dahl was too mild even for her! When we arrived we were asked if we were booked even though it was evident there were plenty of tables - I noted this was repeated for other customers - needless and slightly iiritating. However fully intend to go back to experience some of the other menu choices - a good experience.

I had used the restaurant before for take-away meals and the food is generally quite good. However, when eating in, the restaurant is let down by the very basic decor and the less than stellar service. I recall visiting one Saturday morning to be presented with the lunch menu only to have it taken away and replaced - without apology - by a more expensive menu. Embarassing. I will not be back.

My partner and I paid our first visit to Jasmine on March 21. Being vegetarians, we tried the vegetable biriyani and vegetable madras and some vegetable appetisers. They were delicious, though maybe just a little bland. The service was excellent, probably because we ate early and there were only two tables taken. My partner brought in some beer, and I would have liked a glass of wine but the restaurant isn't licensed. All in all, an enjoyable meal, but we have had tastier meals at Archana in the city centre.

I have been using the Jasmine for over 5 years now and after tonight's meal felt compelled to write this review! The food in the Jasmine is better than any other Indian that I have used in East Belfast, including the Rajput, Cinnamon and Tale of Spice. Had every expectation that the Jasmine would have upped their game, especially as they have tough competition from across the road.Booked a table on a Saturday night 2 people at 8pmWe were promptly shown to a table upstairs, and this is when the waiting started. It took fifteen minutes before our order was taken. As it is BYO they could only find one available wine glass. There should have been alarm bells ringing as no other table nearby was getting any food, those that were the service dead slow and stop.Popadoms arrived 10 minutes after our order was taken, this included spiced coconut as a condiment which was excellent.Popadoms don't last long, and after forty five minutes I enquired about our starters, I was asked to be patient as the kitchen was very busy. One hour after our order was taken enough was enough and we walked out. We were offered discount to stay, sorry one hour is unacceptable.

dined as part of a hen party celebration, papadums were brought to the table as soon as we sat down, which we thought was a really nice gesture, until we got our bill and saw we had been charged £11.20 for them! I would suggest the staff actually ASK diners if they would like to order papadums, as we most certainly would not had we known they were essentially £1.20 each. we got 1 main course (two girls even shared a main between them) and shared a rice between two people, and ended up paying £12 each. for one papadum, one dish, and half a portion of rice. ridiculous. we were advised we could bring our own drinks, and were charged £23 for "corkage" despite opening all drinks ourselves. the decor left a lot to be desired as well, the light sockets were just hanging out of the walls?? food and service were fine, but we felt extremely ripped off, and will not be back.

I have been to Jasmine on a few occasions and the food is always very nice and the service always seemed ok but I was here again recently and it seemed like everyone serving didn't have a clue what they were doing. It took about 45 minutes for our order to be taken but after that the food came quickly enough. When we asked for water we were brought a jug and just a few glassed but not enough for everyone and when someone else asked for more water later on the guy looked very confused and said we already had water earlier so we had to explain that the water we had was finished and that not everybody had been given a glass. There were a few things like this which happened throughout the evening which was a bit frustrating but overall the food made up for it. The fact that's BYO with an off licence right next door is definitely a bonus!

Have been going to The Jasmine for over 4 years now and have nothign but positive things to say about it. The food is absolutely sensational - the Tikka Methi Special is off-the-chart good and the Bombay Potatoes fantastic - and the service amongst the friendliest I have encountered. Okay the restaurant itself is quite modest in terms of size but that is more than compensated for by the quality of the fare. Agree wholeheartedly with the previous reviewer who described it as 'a little gem'. It most certainly is.

We had a meal mid-week at Jasmine and apart from one other couple seated at the window, we were the only other diners. Phone rang occasionally for takeaways though. The interior belies the exterior which from outside shows an amber-lit restaurant and gives the impression of a cozy, warm ambience. Inside the decor is very basic, generic tables and chairs like you'd find in a roadside cafe. The lighting was very, very dim and it was almost impossible to read the menu as the text was tiny - and I have excellent vision. We opted for the only dishes we managed to recognise which was a shame as the menu is quite extensive but we simply could not see much to read. We were sat at the opposite end from the other couple - who left 15 mins after we arrived leaving us as the sole diners - near the cash till and were served by a very obliging, friendly waiter (from Bangladesh) however his English was almost non-existent, the owner/manager (?) standing by relating to him everything we said. I have rated this with 3 stars simply because the food we were served was excellent, very tasty, however our dining experience was made very uncomfortable as the friendly waiter and the other man (owner?) stood the whole time, I kid you not, about 6 feet away watching us and smiling. The smiling was not the problem, it was the too-close proximity of the staff hovering beside us for the entire duration of the meal that made it all feel overly intrusive. Nobody likes to be stared at while they eat. No music in the background which is something I like so long as it is muted, no atmosphere at all. We did not order drinks twice because of the ordeal of trying to communicate with the waiter the first time round. I understand foreign workers have to learn the language but they should not be using the workplace as a classroom. As I said though, the food was very nice.
