What a fantastic Indian this establishment is . Had a takeaway from here a couple of times and honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else . The food is delicious and authentic , had many curries but these are the best I’ve had by far . The service was brilliant and efficient and the staff are friendly and helpful . The best jalfrezi I’ve ever had , wouldn’t go anywhere else , thank you .

Absolutely the best curry house in town,had this as a takeaway, rang cooked and avalible to collect within 30mins. We had our annual new year curry as we do every New Year’s Eve, we had set menu for 2 starters very fresh with all the dips/sauces you could need. Big crisp popadoms soft warm Nan bread And delicious curry (2 x jalfrezi chicken) Staff are friendly and polite, just couldn’t think why you would go anywhere else

We were staying at Alton Towers and nothing on the hotel menu took our fancy so we ventured out here on a recommendation and weren’t disappointed! Food is full of flavour and the staff were really friendly. Massive naans too! Will definitely come back on our next trip to AT.

After a fun filled day at Alton Towers with friends we wanted to enjoy a nice meal together and relax... we found this gem of a balti house.. we are so glad we did as the food was so delicious! The service was outstanding, we were advised that portions were big and that the family sized naan and large rice would be enough between the 6 of us along with 4 mains and a couple of sides! We were blown away by the size of the naan bread, we couldnt eat it all, but gave it a good try, it was delicious. The food was piping hot and very fresh! We would totally recommend this restaurant, we will definitely visit again the next time we are at Alton towers. Thank you for such a lovely evening Mughal.

Absolutely loved it. This is our second visit for a takeaway whilst holidaying in Staffordshire and we wish it was our local. The service, quality of food and value for money are second to none. On both occasions we found the mint sauce a bit watery and tasteless compared to what we’re used to, which is a shame, but otherwise the food we’ve order is amazing. Customer service is also of a very high standard. We will definitely return if we’re in the area again.

Staff couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. All the dishes we had were superb in quality, flavour and spice level. Portions were very generous. The only thing that they could improve in my opinion is the naan breads. On the last two occasions these have been undercooked, thick and doughy, No sign of charring that gives the bread flavour. I will be going again soon but will not order a naan.

Came here whilst staying at Alton Towers. Very impressed overall with this place. The guy running things can’t do enough for you. Very polite and accommodating. It’s a BYOB so was informed there was a bargain booze a couple doors down. Food was good standard with nice large portions. I appreciated the honesty when telling us one portion of rice would be enough as they are bigger than normal. The lamb in the dishes was tender and well cooked. I asked for a side dish that wasn’t on the menu and it was cooked which was a nice touch. Our family all enjoyed the food and would highly recommend this place. It was full of regular locals which is a good sign.

My partner and I visited this restaurant after a hectic day at Alton Towers. The atmosphere at the restaurant was very peaceful. The staff were very friendly, tentative and talkative, which is always a bonus! The food tasted amazing, it was plentiful, tasty and all dishes were piping hot. The portions here are great and prices are very normal… You can take your own alcoholic drinks to the restaurant as they do not offer alcohol there. There is a well stocked Bargain-Booze a few doors away which is an ideal place to stock up beforehand. I’d like to give a specific shout out to Ahmed (who is the owner), he went over and above for us and made us feel very welcome from the beginning! If anyone is staying local or is visiting Alton Towers, then this place is a must! We will definitely be returning when we are in the area next!!

I don't recall having such a poor Indian takeaway. Poppadoms were soggy. The chicken pakora were like pieces of cardboard. The 3 curries were incredibly bland with very little meat in them. Naans were the only half-decent thing in the whole delivery. Service was friendly and delivery was quick, but overall the food was abysmal. Will not be ordering from here again.

What’s not to say , it was one of the best Indian balti restaurant’s we have experienced far and wide as a family. The staff where exemplary. The food exquisite. The most mahoosive naan we have ever seen ( granted it was a family naan) which tasted as good as it looked , . Starter tasted beautiful several different chefs specials , mushroom, lamb, chicken , fish beautifully arranged with salad. Main courses fab too. My apologies for only three photos the food was so good I forgot lol Very family friendly.

My partner and I visited the restaurant for dinner while staying in the area (after booking on the phone). Initially when I rang they were unsure when they were opening for inside dining, but they rang back shortly after to say they will be opening as we wanted to eat there!. The service and food was excellent. The Curries had lots of flavour and the Naan breads were massive, the biggest we had ever had. I would recommend this to anyone who likes Indian food and will be visiting again next time we are in the area.

Ordered a take away from here last week. The guy that took the order was very helpful. Although the delivery time was up to 60 mins, we accepted this due to what is going on at the moment.The food was great and good sized portions. We even had 2 poppadoms, sauce and onion salad which we hadn't ordered.The guy that delivered was polite, had a mask on and put food in porch.Will order again.

Really poor flavour. Shameful how prices have increased over lockdown. No complimentary popadoms and chutneys as advertised on menu. Very disappointed as pre COVI-19 I would say this was a brilliant take away and eat in restaurant. I feel as though this restaurant has jumped on the band wagon of exploitation during this period. Previously could not recommend this restaurant enough but very sad at how it has lowered its standards.

Booked a table and on Entry the staff are so polite and attentive.The asked every time they had an item like poppedom with chutneys.I had the kebab covered with an egg. Brilliant for starters.Main chili garlic lamb tikka madras strength very nice very spicy but not to hot to kill the taste.Again very full could not fit in a desert.Full recommendation.

Went here for a meal with my parents. The service was great and the food was excellent, it was the best curry I have had in a long time.

My best friend and I found this place while staying in Cheadle for a day of airsoft. The food was top notch Indian (basing this off the many Indian meals I've eaten in the UK as I've sadly not actually visited India yet!) and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, allowing us to go to the nearby shop to buy our own beers to have with our meal, and boxing up the very plentiful leftovers when it proved too much for the two of us to finish in one sitting. Heartily recommended for anyone passing through or staying in the vicinity, and will definitely get a second visit from me if I'm ever back there!

After a day at alton towers we decided to find somewhere for a curry. We turned up as a walk in table of 6 and they were incredibly welcoming from the start. The waiter was absolutely lovely and was able to help us with ordering. The food came quickly and it was the best curry we had ever had. Absolutely amazing food and for surprisingly cheap as well. We will absolutely be coming back next time we go to alton. I can't recommend this restaurant enough.

After a long day in Alton Towers, we really fancied some sort of curry and happened to stumble across this gem. The restaurant was very busy, with people who were clearly regulars and had such a great rapport with the staff and it wasn’t looking promising as there was 7 of us. However, the staff went above and beyond to arrange tables and accommodate us to have us seated, with popadoms and dips within 5 minutes! If you are celebrating, you should know they don’t serve alcohol but happy for you to bring your own. I personally had the chicken tikka Mughal masala with peshwari naan- it was the best Indian meal I’ve ever had from a restaurant. The portion sizes are great, plenty for all, especially the family naans! The food came quickly and was piping hot, I could barely wait to tuck in! Although I would return here for the food alone, one of the biggest selling points to me was the staff; they were lovely and genuinely couldn’t do enough for you. They were so pleasant and patient despite clearly being very very busy, nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile on their faces! On a side note, the bill was also much much much cheaper than expected, roughly £13 per head (but we ordered so much food!). I wish this place was closer to Liverpool!

Exceptional food as always whether you dine in or out. Tonight was out as in a home delivery. The service was fast and efficient. The delivery guy is a credit to Mughal a really nice guy. Can highly recommend this business we are regular customers and will remain so as the whole team are first class.

Ate like a king, paid like a pauper. I wish my local curry houses were half as good. Cheap beer from the adjacent off-licence as well.

Six of us met in Cheadle to go to Alton Towers and chose the Mughal for our dinner. The food is brilliant, the staff were really helpful and our waiter was amazing - really made the night for us 👍👍

We turned up unannounced after a full day at Alton Towers with a party of 18 pax. Raheem and his team were exceptional and accommodating. We are very grateful for the whole team looking after us. The food was lovely and tasty and very satisfying after the 20,000 plus step day at the theme park.

We wanted something the whole family would eat so decided on Indian and were not disappointed with this choice. This was the best Indian I’ve tasted for a long time, if ever. The naan breads were like huge elephant ears and so fresh. Amazing dinner

For what it is and worth I enjoyed this place. Decided to come for a random dinner firstly was shocked that prices are basically same as London prices at an Indian restaurant but quality of food was on point, good customer service enjoyable food and if I visit again I will no doubt come again

The staff were extremely helpful and kind and great with the kids, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The peshwari nan was the best I’ve tasted.

We were lucky enough to be staying at Alton station with friends and ordered a delivery. The customer service was great, they were very polite and courteous. We all ordered a different dish - the Adrak was delicious and the nan breads huge.

Fifth visit to the Mughal and things were just as good as ever. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I have something different every time I go and have never been disappointed. Bring your own drinks for a great night out.

Great little Indian restaurant! Really helpful and friendly staff, the family size naan bread is the biggest I've ever seen! And tasted good! We ordered 4 meals which arrived in the metal utensils they were cooked in, so they stayed hot and full of flavour, portion sizes are very generous and not expensive. If we're back in the area we'll definitely return as it seems does everyone else!

It it a great restaurant but tried to order delivery only 6 mins away but been told yet again only delivering to cheadle, it very disappointing when you look, ring to order to be told sorry no deliveries, they should put a note on there website to say not deliveries, its ridiculous that they cannot find a delivery driver over the last 2 weeks to acdomodate the delivery service such a shame we have to order from other Indians but makes you change and order else where now

Ordered a take-away Saturday night, other half’s was lovely but mine tasted strange (really greasy, tasted like watery korma) , woke up the next day with severe tummy pains, diarrhoea, vomiting, really gassy burps. My dr has confirmed I have in fact caught giardiasis which is basically either poo particles being Injested from someone with the same illness, contaminated water, food prepared in contaminated water! A stool sample confirmed it was my curry.

Not a bad curry house although the atmosphere could have been better ie christmas music on in the background and bright lighting.

Food is always hot, quick service, also like how you can take your own drinks in so turns out to be a cheap night out. Lovely for bookings and birthday etc.

We walked in off the street and the place was really busy, but they managed to make room for us and we were really pleased they did. All of the staff were so friendly and gave us recommendations on what to have and the large portions so that we didn't eat too much. The sharing starter for 2 was amazing and huge portion! We both struggled with the main after this, but they were also really good and the garlic nan was huge lol.

Excellent small but friendly restaurant I believe the main business is built upon the take away part but believe me a visit is worth the while to experience the friendly and comfortable feeling ov this venue,the food is excellent and a varied menu helps to place this restaurant in my top ten of places to eat in the Cheadle area.

Fish curry with hardly any fish, no flavour and all tomato jalfrezi was a slight improvement but still bulked out with to many tomatoes Quantity not quality

Our family travelled from london to visit Alton towers and we came here for dinner in he evening. If you’re dining after 7 I recommend you park on the single yellows on queens street round the corner. When we arrived we noticed there was not a bar and soon realised it was bring your own which was really cool. The staff were so friendly and after taking your order they even recommended ways to have it cooked and advising us on the size of the food to save us money. When we finished and asked for the bill the waiter put a small plate of sweets for the kids to share which was really lovely. I’m Indian and have been making curries on the streets of Chhindwara in Nagpur since I was 6 and this was some of the best Indian cuisine I’ve had and for so cheap. Give it a go!!

We had a takeaway from here, at first when the food arrived a couple of items were missing, I contacted the restaurant and in no time at all the food was delivered and by the person that I had spoken to on the phone. The food was amazing and there was absolutely no complaints in regards to the taste. Would highly recommend!

Great service every time. Extremely friendly waiters who cannot do enough for their customers. Curries are delicious and reasonably priced. Chicken paneer is my favourite and the huge garlic naans are the best I have ever had.

We stayed in Cheadle the night before we went to alton towers and was highly recommended The Mughal, i thought lets give it a go. A pickle tray and popadoms is a must with mint sauce or should i say green illuminous sauce and bright red onion dip.. We ordered fish pakoras and Onion Bhajis, the bhajis wasn't too bad but the fish was so bland with no taste what so ever. The mains a chicken and spinach bhuna and a chicken Khari wasn't too good either, it was a decent portion though but if you like chicken in gravy its the place to go, the Naans was very nice and the pilau rice was good too. The service was good and the waiter was friendly even though he was very busy with other customers. I certainly won't be going back again, after reading other reviews i just think it was just a Monday night issue.

Good food at a resonable price. The gentleman who served us i beleive is the owner who was very polite and attentive. Only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 was as we were very uncomfortable on a cramped table in the middle of 2 larger groups. A quite corner table would have suited us better. All in all very good though

The Mughal was recommended by our guesthouse, and we're do happy that they did. Really tasty food (there were a huge variety of curries available), the family naan bread was gigantic (the size of at least 4 normal naans!), the service was friendly, and everything was reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

We came across this restaurant by chance and so glad we did! From the minute we walked through the door all the staff were very welcoming. After being told they do not sell alcohol but you can pop next door to buy anything you want and bring it back they do not charge corkage! The food and service was very prompt and tasted delicious. Unfortunately we didn’t find out about their famous naan until it was too late but would throughly recommend and hope one to return. well done everyone just wish you were closer to Portsmouth

Always go here for a curry. Very reasonably priced and the staff are ever so friendly. Never had an issue with the food here and they also give you free popadoms! There garlic naan is lovely, can never finish there meals as they are so filling and their portion sizes are incredible. Love visiting here as it's such a friendly atmosphere. They also do a delivery option so there is no reason to not try this lovely food.

Decided to come here as all my family live in the Stoke area and we live in Derbyshire so was easier for us to come up to them. I must say that it was a really good choice as the food was excellent the naan breads were huge and the staff were brilliant. We were made very welcome by all the staff who made sure my Son had a good birthday meal, well worth the trip up. Thank you Mughal ps cake wasn't done by Moghul lol

Landed here at 5pm after a fun filled day at Alton Towers. Had visited here years ago and was pleased to see the place was the same.

I went this restaurant own my own last Monday restaurant it self is ok large menu but I order the dish that I like keema curry it was not good runny and tasteless.

We wanted somewhere offsite when staying at Alton Towers this place was great. If you don't want all you can eat Pizza etc try this place.

Warning the family naan is able to feed a whole village! A great selection of dishes and everyone in our party of 12 enjoyed their meal. I have since had a takeaway from here and it’s been just as good. The staff are so welcoming and accomodating.

The quality of the food here never ceases to impress me. I visit often and would certainly recommend the masala and peshwari naan! The gentleman who runs the restaurant is a delight and always makes sure we go away with a few sweets after our meal. 10/10

Fun livley small restaurant having to take your own drink is interesting and something I've never had to do befor but it dose make the price of going out for a curry a lot cheaper.

As I promised I returned to the Mughal, having previously indulged in both an 'eat-in' and a 'take-out' , but this time to have something from their Balti selection.

Always come here with groups of friends for a catch-up or the start to a night out. Lovely curries, lovely staff and lovely atmosphere.

We were on holiday and found this restaurant from google search. The food was very nice, authentic Indian taste. The owner, Amar was very welcoming and friendly. The nan bread is so big, 3 times the size of nan bread at other restaurants. And they serve halal food.

we took two of our gradsons for a meal as we used to take them regularly when they were younger . The boys really enjoyed the meal as we did the owner made us so welcome and when he realised who the boys were he made them feel so special and he even remembered their names wonderful service tasty food and big plus you can take your own drink .
