Muffin Top Cafe in Milton Keynes

I didn't expect much from the diner. I was meeting a colleague there since my hotel didn't serve breakfast. I was very clean, and the service was impressive. I don't recall the name of the server, but he was very attentive and professional. Food was good - average: I had scrambled eggs and bacon.

Like an old time diner--bright and shiny. Very much enjoyed my southwest burger. The fries were better than most and the Nutella shake was large, old-fashioned thick, and delicious. The shake was large enough for two of us to split. Or server, Johnny, was on the ball.

This place was dirty and the food was terrible. I ordered chicken wings and they were huge I mean bigger than my hand and not cooked fully the cinnamon bun was hard as a rock. My wife had an omelette and the eggs were undercooked and runny while her hash browns were burnt and tasted like old grease. The whole place was very nasty, floor was full of grease, table wasn’t cleaned properly (food stuck on tables), I stepped in vomit directly outside the door, bathroom was extremely disgusting. The worst part of my visit was after we had a few bites of our food something ran over my wife’s foot. When we looked down there was a rat looking at us that’s when we started paying attention to the surroundings even closer only to realize that they have a serious rodent problem. At this point I just paid for the food and we left. We will never eat there again and hope this reaches as many people as possible before they eat roden droppings. Filthiest place I’ve ever been to eat in.

We did a takeout lunch here, and the process for ordering was complicated. Unfortunately, we were not happy with either item we ordered. A buffalo chicken salad was much too spicy and overly sour, and also had a lot of chicken but not much salad. Neither of us was able to eat more than a bite or two of it. A BLT with avocado was skimpy with blah marble rye bread. It was frustrating that all the available sides were hot, which we did not think would hold up well by the time we would eat one. Who likes cold fries or onion rings? Cole slaw would be a helpful addition.

Ate there and the Nicollet diner 3 times in our 4 day stay. interesting people, friendly wait staff.

The first time I was there, it wasn't busy and the order took too long! Second Time I was there, some jerk with a grey beard couldn't be bothered to see if my order was up for Doordash. I was interrupting his dinner. Then he forgot the drink! The third time there, it was again for Doordash. Same jerk, Same bad service. I never took another Doordash order for the Nicollet Diner again! Which brings us to today, this evening. I was walking by and some friends asked me to join them. Ok, Fine. I wasn't hungry so I ordered a soda and a small order of fries. It took me prodding the waitress to where my order was. 45 Minutes later I demanded a refund. The Manager took two other customers before getting to me! No, there is no reason at all for me to ever go to that DUMP again! I have over 133K people who look to my reviews. You have gotten a big fat ZERO on every platform I'm on! I just moved here in 8/2019. People said it was great, good food.....????? Food is mediocre, service is horrible, why are you still open? And you want to move to a larger space!? Get your ACT together at one place before you move on!

Now that restaurants are allowed to do indoor dining, I tried the diner. The back patio had a nice breeze but very little in the way of scenery. The patio looks out on the bank of utility boxes for the adjoining building. The restaurant works best for those with smart phones. There were a few potted plants. The server brought a QR code which brings up a copy of the menu when scanned. This avoids touching a contaminated menu or a credit card. When checking out, one only needed to scan a QR code on the bill to pay. For those of use who don't use smart phones, it is a little more complicated. I would recommend checking the menu on a computer ahead of time to decide your order. A number of menu items have pictures, so you know what to expect. I ordered the veggie skillet with eggs. There were many options available on how to cook the eggs and type of bread. The skillet came with a vegan 'sausage.' If you are expecting something tasting similar to a pork sausage, you will be disappointed. It was more like refried beans with some spices. The hash browns were very good -- crispy on the outside. I also ordered the Southern Belle shake. It was good but not worth $9. This malt had several apple slices along with chopped pecans, caramel and a hint of cinnamon. The cinnamon was noticeable but not overpowering. In the post-Covid world the condiments were individually packaged with no ketchup bottles in sight. The restaurant also has eliminated a few parking spaces to set up table in a protected area in the street. This would probably be a more interesting view but has no shelter in case of rain.

We have visited here twice and had fabulous food both times. The feel of the food is diner, yet it is large like a restaurant. The staff is friendly but always overwhelmed and running a little slow due to take out orders and staff to customer ratio. The night crowd can get eclectic, but that really is part of the fun experience. Don't go in expecting fine dining and fancy surroundings and you won't be disappointed, love it for what it is...a diner.

We went here for lunch while taking a break from the recent motorcycle show at the convention center. It was shortly after 1 pm on Saturday so it was busy but we got seats at the counter. The place was beginning to clear out so we thought it would be quick, but it wasn't. The kitchen was pumping out tons of food, but not our order! Not sure if our order slip got lost or something, but it seemed like we waited a long time for burger and fries. Food was ok, basic diner fare. The breakfast food looked better than our burger and we wished we had ordered that instead. Staff was very friendly and it's a neat-looking place. Maybe if you went at a time other than Saturday afternoon it would be faster.

This is a great spot in the Loring neighborhood. Good food, fun wait staff, reasonable prices. Park in the big lot across the street - pretty reasonable. Great breakfasts and sandwiches.

We came here because it was recommended by friends and because it was within walking distance to our hotel. It wasn’t particularly busy when we got there, there’s a separate bar that sounded like it might’ve been busy. Our food wasn’t too bad. It came to us hot and tasty. Kudos to the kitchen staff! Service itself left a lot to be desired. Noticed a lot of standing around at the counter and bsing with coworkers. I think in total our server came by all of four times. For what we paid for our meal, I would’ve expected better service. I do not think we will go out of our way to eat here again unfortunately.

Looking for a good breakfast on a Sunday morning is not fun. Every where is generally very busy. This was the case here as well. We took a counter seat by the cash register, door, dish washers area. Good service, good food and a decent price. The hardest working employee and the diner was definitely the female dishwasher and NOT the supervisor/management!!!! We would definitely go back again for breakfast.

They have a solid choice of lunch and breakfast possibilities. They are all well prepared, generous, and available quickly. The staff is helpful, the place very clean, and the location has ample parking nearby. We would certainly go back in the future.

Diner vibe but not really an old fashioned diner. We were visiting Minneapolis and looking for breakfast nearby our hotel. Quick walk from Millenium or Hyatt Regency. We got there during a small lull so were seated and waited on right away. Husband had a breakfast quesadilla-choice of sausage or bacon and I had Eggs Benedict. Both were so good. Came with crispy hash browns which were hard to stop eating. They are open 24hours. Full menu (breakfast, lunch and dinner) available all day and also have a bar menu. Sorry didn't get our servers name. He was knowledgable and attentive despite being super busy.

I popped into this diner for a real America experience. A Burger and milkshake :) the burger was fresh and pretty good and the shake was delicious, almost 2 cups worth. It’s look a typical diner but they have a bar area and some night karaoke. This place is open 24 hours! You can have breakfast anytime. The food quality was good. My only pickle was the Heinz Ketchup. Is that really Heinz?? It does it taste very different to the UK version.

We went here for brunch one morning, and they did not disappoint. I got one of their skillet/scrambler dishes with gravy on top and it was absolutely delicious.
