Muffin Break Chester in Cheshire West and Chester

What a beautiful place. We enjoyed a gorgeous lunch then went back later for coffee and cake. Food really lovely, very reasonably priced. Staff lovely too. Will definitely go again.

What a great little cafe. Just inside the Chester shopping centre. I had a latte and coffee cake, both were delicious! Highly recommend coming here. Ideal for a rest break during your day out shopping.

First impressions the food on display looked amazing, that's what drew is in. Four of us sat down for breakfast, overcooked bacon, ridiculously small sausage, 1 tiny mushroom, sourdough toast that would break your teeth, very nice coffee, albeit I had to wait for hot milk to be served and eventually got it after asking 3 times, all for £52! Cheapest knives & forks that cut into your hands and not enough room on the table to eat comfortably, we had to put our teapots on the floor!! Needless to say we won't be returning.

I don't personally like the coffee hee so choose something else to drink. The muffins are exceptional. Ask for them to be warmed.

Ordered a white coffee but was given coffee without milk. Ordered a salad to go with my panini, but it came without a salad. Staff were miles away with other thoughts. Did not listen. I had to repeat everything. 8 staff on without a clue what they were doing. My friend ordered oat milk coffee but was given cow milk coffee. Awful service.

Arrived at this coffee shop earlier today, we ordered a few drinks just a latte and a cup of tea, we were told they would be in takeaway cups as it was 4.20pm. Which was fine as the premises closes at 5pm which is advertised on the door. 20 minutes later at 4.40pm we was approached by a gentleman with a mop in his hand standing over us saying we need to leave as the premises is now closed. I mentioned it does stat on door 5pm but he just looked with blank expression on his face and not saying anything else, so thought may as well leave bare in mind we still had drinks left. Extremely poor customer service and false advertisement on the time. Will not be going there again and advise to others not to go.

This place is lovely will definitely be going back. It was nice decore and the staff were nice.. I think my only criticism was the toilets nit big enough and I wouldn't want to be sitting next to them because of some people smells. Sit by the window it is worth visiting. Food and drink 5☆☆☆☆☆ .

Breakfast - Stated sourdough bread but it wasn't, tomato was a tiny quarter of a tomato! beans were tasteless. Slow service but nice coffee.

Teapots badly stained inside, cups badly stained inside, please wash them properly before reusing for next customer , some staff do not understand money to take payment & give change, it can be a difficult visit

Lovely little place, nice atmosphere and food is beautiful and most of all they don't burn the milk. Friendly service with a smile

I have come here with my grandad for a number of years and haven’t been in a while, we decided to go again and the experience was not pleasant. Food and coffee was ok but the environment was not. We got there 1h/40mins ish before closing and while we had just been served and sat at our table they were sweeping floors and making extremely loud noise in the kitchen which was especially irritating and uncomfortable for my grandad as he is deaf so we struggled to communicate. Floors were wet and slippy from mopping while there were people still in there. The staff were very preoccupied in cleaning early to the point a woman was waiting to be served for so long that she left and was ignored by staff. Really disappointed in this after returning again after a year or so and was not the nice cafe I remembered Shame

After trying to cancel my order and being told I couldn't due to it already being prepared, was then given the wrong change as the 2 staff couldn't manage a task this simple alone clearly, I left to find out my food which I asked to be warm, was freezing cold on the inside. Had to return to shop, staff were unfriendly and unprofessional and didn't even offer an apology until prompted. Disgusting behaviour from staff and partially warmed food. Big no from me who has worked in hospitality management my entire life.

Came for a coffee and a muffin. It's small but chatty staff and great food.

Lovely little coffee shop, small amount to offer on the brunch menu means food doesn't take to long and it tastes really good. Staff were polite and welcoming, sweet treats are also really good! Nice calm and relaxed atmosphere, this is my 2nd visit and will definitely visit again 😊

Yorkshire pud rolls. Lovely although despite being double cooked in the oven then microwaved, was cold inside and hotter than hell outside. Still tasty though.

Food quite bland. The tuna toasty I had was dry, only had smattering of tuna and nothing else, such as onion or peppers. Edges of bread really dry. It's not cheap either

We arrived at three in the afternoon and they served us a quickie but the food was half cold and they started cleaning with bleach next to us, with two and a half hours left before closing. we feel uncomfortable. We will not return.

Very dirty piace tables and floor with crumbs from previous customers. Manager(woman with long dark hair)very rude and also above all poor food. Not recommended After your comment: I wrote what happened to me today in your shop. The lady with long dark hair was at till and gave ordered to the the staff so I thought she was a manager. I hope the other "Muffin Break" are not your level, because it would be very sad.

Visited 11 December. Ordered flat white and cappucino, we weren't asked what size cup we would prefer, it was assumed we wanted regular size, Unfortunately my wife and found the coffees too milky and a a weak coffee taste. We did bring this to the attention of the serving staff who made us another. Also like to add a in a larger cup. Thank you. Unfortunately, the coffee here isn't to my taste....

Well established cafe located inside the Grosvenor shopping centre. Very strong coffee! When I visited, it was quite busy, but the staff were working very fast, so my order arrived in good time. I had an Americano with a cinnamon swirl, just a quick snack, and sat on one of the high tables with stools, for those who are just popping in for a quick drink. There are plenty of tables and chairs for groups, including some comfy chairs, if you want to get settled in. But I would say this cafe is best for anyone seeking respite from the busy shopping precinct, rather than as a place to watch the world go by. Plenty of options for lunch - a good selection of baguette sandwiches - plus of course the muffins!

I found this Muffin break branch not totally up to some branch’s we have visited. And on our second visit slightly unprofessional 🥴 Brushing floors around our feet and staking chairs on tables beside us after only just receiving our table order in my humble opinion is definitely not the way to be with your customers.

Been a fan of Muffin Break since I discovered it when I lived in Notts and was over the moon when they opened it here in Chester's Grosvenor. Yummy muffins, delicious milkshakes and very filling paninis and hot sandwiches. The Xmas hot chocolates are so tasty. They also have dairy free options which my son will appreciate when he's a bit older and weaned. High chairs and baby changing facilities are available. This was my go to stop whenever I went to Chester with a young baby and needed a place to breastfeed. The staff is very nice and helpful and always made me feel welcome.

We had two of their Christmas "The Purple One Hot Chocolates" today and they were truly horrid. So much sugar and way too much caramel that made them extremely sickly. We could spoon the sugar from the bottom of the cup. Even after they made me a fresh one, it was still undrinkable and full of sugar. Such a shame as their advertisements for them looked so nice.

The shop was clean and there was plenty of staff serving they seemed efficient using table numbers to fetch the orders . The cake i had was lovely , bannoffee cheesecake , i had a large glass of milk with my cake . It was reasonabily priced to say it was Chester centre

Too Good To Go had a bad experience

First time visiting Chester and this place looked great for lunch so we decided to go here for panini. Great tuna melt toastie and my husband had chicken panini which he liked a lot. The hot chocolate is the best I have ever had and staff were so lovely and kind.

Only had a coffee. But Muffin Break Is very clean. The food looks Excellent. And staff are very friendly and helpful. Will certainly go again. And will recommend to my Friends.

I visited the cafě this evening with my sister in law, the cafe was closing & we got there a little late. The manager there (Zunaira) was utterly sweet & generous. We were gifted Duffins by her as we walked out so we weren't leaving with an empty stomach. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite of these gorgeous duffins with a hot cuppa. The staff was also very polite, friendly & welcoming. A heartfelt thanks to Zunaira for such hospitality & kindness.

Went there at 9.30am on Thursday 6th July. Stood at the counter for 10 minutes waiting to be served. There were 2 people working and they didn't even say they would take my order soon. Poor service, so walked away. Food looked OK though, if not overpriced.

Drinks were lovely, I had a pash n shoot smoothie which is lovely and refreshing, however staff would be better if they smiled a little and were more welcoming.

Not only is the atmosphere very warm and friendly, but the food and drinks are wonderfully made. The customer service here is fantastic and they always make sure you are satisfied with your experience.

This is a lovely coffee shop let down by charging 60p for plant milk, I chose not to have a coffee because of this but my wife had one and she enjoyed it, we had a Vegan cherry and almond muffin that was nice although not as sweet as I'd of expected and was let down with it also being gluten free although that may be a positive for some.

First time there yesterday. Ordered tea and toasted cheese and red onion. 30 mins wait then food was delivered. No teaspoon fo tea. No knife to cut the toast which looked like had just been thrown onto the plate. The cheese was horrible, tasted like it was processed and rubbery. Cost £8.75. The staff were not at all pleasant. An experience never to be repeated.

Good coffee, good food but poor service, mixed up or misunderstood orders. Plus, one of the staff members was too busy listening to music on bluetooth headphones and drinking her own coffee before serving the customers.

A great experience had by myself this morning. After a brisk frosty winters walk across the wall I decided to find respite in the Shopping mall and grab a coffee and cake at Muffin Break. I was the first customer in the business and the level of service was second to none! Food was delicious! Great place. Especially at the price point.

Love my Chai latte and muffin treat when i call. Good to see GF goodies on offer too.

Firstly the food is great, a good range including veggie choices and it's all made there, even the breads. The service was well meaning and friendly but chaotic and slow. It's not helped by the layout not allowing for a flow of customers so people were walking off the back of the queue as fast as they were served at the front. I'm not sure what the answer is but maybe make it all table service or just a bit better organised. I must finish by reminding you the food was lovely, maybe best tried when quiet.

Spontaneous day out in Chester just wanted a light bite. Don’t give this low rating lightly. Person in charge needs to start paying attention to detail. E.g presentation of cutlery. Only saving grace was that the coffee was very good, even if took a while to be made.

I really like the coffee here but the staff are so unfriendly it really puts me off going. They never seem to smile or interact with customers, just talk amongst themselves.
