Honestly, we went to eat in, on menu they had a friendly price for me. Then they charged in Tax what I was not aware nor didn't saw it mentioned nowhere. This was my first and last time coming here. Reading has better places than this. + Everywhere I know exactly how much I will pay.

This cafe has completely stolen my heart! The soft milk latte is smooth and comforting, making it a perfect match for their delightful pastry selection. The pistachio cheesecake and the pistachio duffin are absolute standouts – rich, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. The food menu is incredibly well-rounded, with both savory and sweet options that are all mouthwateringly delicious. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and make you feel right at home. It’s also an area with power outlets to charge your devices. A gem of a cafe that I can’t recommend enough!

This coffee shop has been open in Reading for quite some time, but today was the first chance I got to visit. The space is large, beautiful, and very inviting, giving you a special sense of calm as soon as you step in. The lady who took my order was a true artist—both in terms of the thoughtful design of the café and the taste of the coffee itself. It truly makes a difference who prepares the coffee; even with the best beans and equipment, it’s the barista’s skill that shines in the final taste. Prices were reasonable and fair as well. I want to thank the staff for this wonderful experience and the amazing atmosphere they created.

Lovely cafe!! Very clean and lots of seating options. The cupcakes and food look sooooo yummy and I had a chai latte which was the best I’ve ever had I don’t know how they made it but it was so good! I hope to come back and try their food!

Very pleasant coffee shop in the middle of Reading town centre. The staff are friendly and attentive, and if you get a window seat, you get to watch the world go by over a great coffee and a very tasty, generous slice of cake. Perfect.

I had a fantastic experience at Muffin Break in Reading! I ordered the traditional English breakfast, and it was absolutely delicious—everything was cooked to perfection. I also enjoyed a smooth and flavorful cappuccino alongside my meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the place was spotless, which made the whole visit even more enjoyable. Popped in to have a drink and wait out the rain. What a lucky decision! We had 3 amazing panini's and fantastic service.

Had pistachio duffins, absolutely brilliant. Bought them filled with also Nutella for my sons birthday instead of normal birthday cake, they all loved them. Good service.

Such lovely staff that work here, so always feel welcome and generally only come in for a coffee but decided to spoil myself with some lunch and the food is just as good as the service! Highly recommend popping in.

Nice spacious cafe with plenty of sweet and savoury snacks. The staff are friendly. It was the first time I had a duffin and it tasted good.

The coffee is great and the food selection is excellent. The muffins are so good. The staff are Lovely and it’s a great place to relax and enjoy.

I will say that this is the best cafe on the high street for coffee and freshly baked muffins. Since it opened a year ago, I have been coming here frequently to enjoy my coffee with fresh cakes, paninis, and wraps. I have never had coffee this good in any other high street coffee shop. If you are a foodie, I would highly recommend coming here for your coffee and cakes.

I went here the other day and I must say the blueberry muffins were really good and tasty and the panini was top quality alongside their top end coffee. Would highly recommend for someone to revisit here. As I genuinely think it was better than Costa,Cafe nero and black sheep coffee in my opinion simply because of the quality of the food and service at Muffin break.

i had brioche toast it was mouth watering delicious. Really a great place to have afternoon coffee and the brunch from the kitchen.

A great place to go for a break. Muffins were tasty, coffee was good. Nice and airy cafe with comfortable seating. Didn’t have any of the sandwiches or rolls but they looked lovely.

If you order a through Deliveroo 99% guarantee you won’t get what you ordered, no contact directly to correct order I don’t know how they can mess up a sausage and egg bagel with extra bacon, but they can.

Got food poisoning from the place, had a Yorkshire pudding wrap and coffee, it was hard and partly cold like eating cardboard, lucky I only ate quarter of it, still went home and was sick, throw up few times, never going there again.

Located at the entrance to Broad Street Mall, this coffee shop is handy for grabbing a quick cup of something warm (and a cheeky muffin) while going about your business. Nice tasting coffee and chai latte's, certainly different to what you normally get in some of the franchise places. Their Muffins are pretty good as well, I can recommend the Apple and Cinnamon ones.

The description promised 10-20 minutes delivery. By the time I received the delivery 45 minutes had passed. The majority of that time the rider was waiting at the shop. The food was mediocre at best with all bagels being slightly less than lukewarm. Badly assembled and mushed by the time delivery arrived. Very bad all around.

Rude staff utterly rude and miserable wouldn’t recommend this place and the coffe is not hot

Terrible customer service - and no savoury gluten-free options so I had to go and get myself something from the nearby Subway. The rest of the family ordered lunch from Muffin Break but it was very slow to arrive, and my son's bacon and Brie roll only had one microscopic piece of bacon in it (about the size of a fingernail!). When he took it back to the counter to complain, instead of apologising and replacing it immediately, the staff member decided to argue with my son for several minutes before finally agreeing to provide a replacement. They did finally provide rolls with decent amounts of filling, but there was no apology, and needless to say we will not be eating here again. Muffin Break - your staff need some customer service training!

Was chaos. We ended up asking to take away our drinks. Then found out drinks were not what we asked was but didn't have time to go back 🙃

Lovely little place for food and drink. Reasonably priced! A much better alternative than Costa. An amazing selection of savoury wraps, bagels etc but could improve on more vegetarian/vegan options. The sweet selection was amazing as well! Beautiful cakes, duffins (muffin doughnut), muggins etc! Would highly recommend but of ur vegetarian/vegan be warned not a lot of selection!

On a whole it’s a nice place to go but I came in with my dad had a toasted tea cake and it wasn’t toasted was cold butter didn’t t melt as it was not hot and staff didn’t seem to know how to cook it need further training

Do any of you have a wheat or gluten allergy? This place has 1 batch of gluten free muffins made fresh every morning. They change the flavours every day. The one in the picture is Cherry and Chocolate muffin. Very nice ! These are on my regular route to pick one up every time I’m in town. In most places I can’t eat anything, here I can treat myself. I wish they added a line of gluten free sandwiches too. Maybe they will in the future.

Fair place to stop by for a coffee and something little to eat. The atmosphere is ok, service looking quite confused also they do shout to each other often, didn't get any napkin (but that's ok, it can happen). The food selection of savoury and sweet is wide. I had a bagel and it was good, nothing great, but fair. It was bit unbalanced flavour. One side was really solty, the other one not at all. Coffee served extremely hot. So at the end it's ok. I would stop by again, but this time I will know what to expect, just an ok coffee place. PS: almost forgot to mention.. my table was a bit wobbly and I almost spilled all my hot coffee on m at me. So be aware.

The wife and I stopped in and had 2 coffee and walnut muffins last week. This is the first time we have been here, the muffins we’re probably the blandest food I’ve ever but in my mouth, really disappointing and we both left half of it on the table.

Nice place to try for a change, been in a few times. What I have observed during my visits, is that the takeaway collections get priority over real people visiting, that's the impression I get. Also, when the boss is there, the staff up their game a little. Nice hot chocolate, seems that you only get the dusting of chocolate on the top when the boss is there and tells them to do it !!

Very nice place, polite staff and relatively inexpensive, the atmosphere is very nice but can be overwhelming after some cooking since the kitchen is not properly ventilated.

Drinks are good but the staff is rude. They asked us if we can wait for 20 mins for coffee and were basically provoking people to leave so they won’t have to cater.

Love going here - great food, delicious coffee, and always friendly staff! Even with takeaway coffee on uber eats it's still great as everything is double cling filmed to prevent spillage - beats Starbucks any day for me!

A great place to eat right off Broad Street in Reading. Broad street is a large street in the heart of Reading, UK. It is wide, covered in cobblestones with stores lining both sides and lots of options for visitors to shop or eat. Just west of the walking part on the south side of the road there is a small shop called Muffin Break. It is one of two stores (the other being Taco Bell) lining the entrance to the, appropriately named, Broad Street Mall. I found this eatery purely by chance but am glad that I did. It has a corner spot with a large area in the front with tables and chairs to eat while people-watching the Broad street crowd. They offer food and drink in the form of various coffee’s, teas and drinks and a broad variety of sandwiches. The store was clean and light with oak wood floors/tables, muted grey tones for the wall and a clean counter. The staff was friendly and attentive. You order, pay and pickup at the counter. I ordered a sandwich on a croissant. It came out quickly and was served, heated, on a plate with a iced coffee. It was delicious. The price was reasonable for the date, time and economy. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I would recommend this as a good place to eat if you are in the area. Enjoy!

The mocha was nice and sweet, until I finished half of it and saw a bug at the bottom. Absolutely unacceptable. I took the cup to the counter and the response I got was "it's probably from outside". Not even an apology. I was asked if I want them to take away the cup. How could I possibly finish the rest? I just asked for a glass of water after that. Customer service is a problem, hygiene is a bigger issue. If you want extra protein in your coffee, this place is what you are looking for.

Great central location for a quick bite to eat. Can get quite busy and noisy. They have a good range of different muffins and nice slices of cake too.

I came over an hour before store closing and was informed it's only take away and 6.30 they are closing. When i question that is says 7pm they said they will be cleaning at 6.30. Never came across this kind of practice... I have also worked in hospitality and would never imagine to have this kind of practice. I always liked the place and muffins but will not come back due to lack of any kind of customer service

Stopped in for a quick snack and milkshake and got more than we bargained for. The food is top quality with good flavour. The milkshake was incredible and actually looks like the picture on the menu. The staff are absolutely brilliant, they are friendly and helpful as well as proactive. Tables are cleaned immediately and the overall cleanliness of the shop is as you would expect from a food establishment. Well done and keep it up, you'll have a returning customer.

Very kind people. My kid spilled her breakfast on the floor, the staff were so kind and replaced her food and didn't charge anything extra. They made us feel so comfortable. I would recommend this place to all parents and kids for sure. BTW the food was super awesome 👌
