Dilwar Pindi Express in Reading

Food is good and authentic. I am not sure why they are closed for past one week. I have been going in evenings and it says closed.

I've been eating at Dilwar for 20 years, food is always phenomenal it's my favourite Indian in the country I love it so much, The Food and People are Fantastic, Service is great, all around amazing

1st time having takeaway & would definitely order again. Arrived on time, all as ordered, hot, very tasty, large chicken pieces, generous portions.

We are Indian and my family and I love dilwar pindi - they serve authentic Indian food. None of that sweet stuff you get in other takeaways in the area!! Food is always hot on arrival and delivered quickly! We are on a health kick at the moment but can’t wait to order again soon!

Just got takeaway from there to take to my friend in hospital, Food still hot on arrival 20 miles awayvquality and taste of food excellent the friend I was visiting has been in the restaurant trade most of his life and he said it was the best Indian he’d ever had and would give 10 stars if possible. I don’t understand how this place can get any bad reviews the service is excellent the guys are polite and friendly and the food is home cooked and traditional what more do you want?? I can only assume those that give bad reviews are probably never happy with anything and always complain with the hope of getting a discount or ruining the guys reputation

Food was average(mostly microwaved food), but the cashier who is the owner i assume was very rude, refused to provide plates if you want to eat in his resturant saying he don't want to wash them later, refused to provide extra cutlery, refused to provide extra tissues too. may sound petty but when you spend your money in a restaurant you expect better service.

Not that great, tries better, garlic naan had barely any garlic on and just tasted dry and curry dishes weren’t too nice either. Delivery was fast though

I traveled up from Essex to take my son to university and googled this restaurant.OMG it's probably the best Indian I've had.servis was great food was plentiful first class. When next back will 100% be revisiting

Gorgeous, exquisite and delightful food. Big portioning fulfilling your munchies at his best. Lovely lamb tikka tandoori, highly suggested.

Been using through Uber Eats through this year every time I'm in Reading. One of the best takeaway Indian restaurants I've had in recent times. I'm a big fan of Tandoori Mixed Grill!

Order from here every week. Biryanis and Currys are amazing. Customer experience is excellent!!

The food is very delicious& tasty. They have new cheff from karachi who is really expert in biryani, haleem, nihari & halwa puri etc, thats why all desi dishes are proper Pakistani style., 10 out 10 Highly recommended..AAA++++

Absolutely rubbish, £12 for a box of dry meat rubbish. Asked for mixed salad, it was all lettuce, oh and one little piece of tomato. I wish I could add a picture of the rubbish I got

Excellent service, really good food, this restaurant has never let me down especially when delivering to my home.

Got the chicken tikka korai. And for ordering online for £6.50 and the amount you get for your money I really don't think it's too bad . I'm a big eater and it took me just over 2 servings to finish it with 2 naans to finish half of it. As for the taste, had a lovely spicy kick to it. Could do with more chicken tikka and less onions but the sauce was spot on. Didn't expect it to be this good but exceeded my expectations. Will be curious to see what the other rest of the menu has in-store for me!

Delivery was late hence the 3 stars but the bajis are have an incredible flavour crispy on the outside soft in the middle.mmm

Wast of money. No source no salt no vinegar in chips, disgusting and smelly Donna kebab. I'll never try it again.

This place has gone downhill massively, quality and service has dropped off, ordered egg fried rice which was more like egg mixed rice, the curry sauce was just watery and tasteless, the poppadoms were burnt the and tasted stale, the dopiaza had big chunks of onion that wasn't cut properly, the chicken was dry and cut into big chunks and tasted like it was frozen, the sauce was greasy and runny like it just come out the freezer and been reheated, the delivery was 20 mins late and delivered by taxi driver on the phone didn't even apologise for the late delivery. Very disappointed in the quality and service that has been provided, waste of money couldn't eat half of it. WONT BE GOING HERE EVER AGAIN i made a online order through just eat at around 7:15

Bad food very poor hygiene avoid at all costs

Ordered 2 curries on Monday(chicken jalfrezi & chicken balti). Food was more spicy than expected, but tasteless..Chillies from jalfrezi...

** EDIT - Based off this response, I'm prepared to come in and make amends, try it out again. Please understand that I've been using takeaways for years, regularly and all over the country. I've never had this kind of treatment and never been charged that amount for chick peas. I've upgraded my review a star and if it improves, I will also improve my rating ** The owner has no idea of customer service. It's a local takeaway for me at the bottom of my street but I won't be going back there again. The rest of the staff are nice but if you happen to get the owner and ask a simple question he resorts to being defensive and argumentative. I simply asked if they could put chick peas in my curry and he tried charging me an extra £4.20 for chick peas!! I'm sick of the way he acts and he won't be taking any of my money again.

Why can't we leave 0 stars? The food is OK but the owner is so rude to customers- definitely not how to run a business. Most of the staff are fine but the grumpy old guy is a defensive argumentative stingy man who is ridiculous. Not sure how this place is even open. Absolute joke. Stay away!!!

Rude owner who don't respect customer . Be aware if the pizza is prepared by their owner because he significantly add less toppings than others and gives uncooked pizza . --------- for your reply------------------ 11/12/2018: I am very respectful to everyone. My review dint affect your company image and have a look at other reviews and be true to yourself. If I am spending for takeaway food regularly, its a least bother for me to ask for more portion or customised food so please avoid these made up stories. I got uncooked pizza few times but did i stop coming to your shop or complained? NO . Its a shame I have to avoid now because i can't stand a rude person who never realises he is rude. PS : Absolutely I am going for other takeaway which has better taste, polite customer service and also who never make up stories to cover their mistakes .

Most rude owner who got no idea how to talk to customer. The employees there are very respectful and polite. Pizza is good there unless it is prepared by their owner who gave us uncooked pizza . There are better takeaway with cheap price , good food and polite and respectful customer service . Unfortunately google does not allow me to give negative rating or even 0 so i have to give 1 star .

Excellent food ,good service and delivery on time

Meh. The flavours were strong, but I should have taken my own advice and never order a curry from a place that also serves pizza and kebabs and fried fast food...Also, having ordered £30+ of food, so disappointing that they couldn't even throw in a couple of poppadoms or side salad or a chutney. Just small things make a huge difference.

Dilwar is not same any more. this place is a no for me now...

Always used the dilwar but ordered set meal last night and really disappointed, not at all like it used to be, the chicken tikka was too sweet and not creamy like it used to be the lamb bhuna not as spicy and was runny, no bhaji, no pashwari naan but plain instead, no mushroom rice but another pilau and if you have changed your chefs please bring the old ones back, sorry about this post but really don't know why from great food that this has happened.

Quality not as good as it used to be

Ordered delivery from Dilwar Tandoori while staying in a nearby hotel. I was very impressed with the variety of the menu and it took me a while to choose exactly what I wanted, but I went with prawn vindaloo, garlic naan, rice, onion bhaji, and wine. Yes, they offer alcoholic drinks!! (big winner) The taste was great in all food items. Vindaloo and onion bhaji were both spicy & flavorful, rice was good, and naan very fluffy & yummy. I found the prices very reasonable, even with free delivery above a certain price limit. Good packaging of the food items and a good amount per serving - actually more than expected! Also, reasonable delivery time. I'd highly recommend & will likely be back in the meantime :}

Can't understand the good reviews for this place. We ordered a delivery. Butter chicken and chilli Paneer. First, the driver didn't want to come upstairs but called us to pick up the food from the door (we have a elevator) what's the point of ordering for delivery if you still have to go out?? Butterchicken was tasteless. No flavours at all. What a shame for an Indian restaurant not to use ANY flavors. You could barely eat it. Long story short: this is no authectic Indian restaurant. Don't order here unless you want to to get disappointed.

Worst place to order, guy on phone can't understand any sort of English. Half order completely wrong... what a waste of shop space

Not much to say about Dilwar apart from YUM!!! Ive been having indian takeaway from Dilwar since a child im now 28 ill never forget the taste, so thinking about is no longer an option- im ringing Dilwar! Can I have: 2 chicken tikka starters chips, & poppadum Dilwar speciality Chicken Tikka Masala Pilau Rice & Plain Naan - Thankyou!! :)

The best take-out curry in Reading. I was going to say the food quality was 'restaurant level' but that's not fair on Dilwar as the food is much better and tastier than the vast majority of curry houses I've been to in Reading. We live over 10 miles from the Dilwar, and it's still worth driving over to get a take-away. I just wish I knew how they got that taste!

So we came to a hotel in Reading on Fri 28 March and was looking for a place to get food deliverd to hotel. I have to say wicked food highley recomended!!! Got it a second time on the Sunday. Masive nans very filling BIG! Well done lads!

Simply the best curry you will ever have. Quality never varies - always first class. Highly recommended.
