Delicious warm blueberry muffin and an apple and cinnamon muffin here for breakfast. Coffee, however, not good, tasted like dishwater, so neither of us finished our drinks. Would visit again for muffins but not coffee. Toilet out of order, but used for staff to change. Staff friendly.

Just had an Italian mozzarella & pesto on sourdough. Very overcooked. Despite there being only myself and 2 other customers in the store, of of whom was already seated, the service was slow and the food was left in the oven for at least 20 seconds after it had sounded the alarm to indicate it was done. I like the idea of being able to get something other than a small flat white, which is what most coffee shops serve. I didn’t complain because 1 member of staff looked like she wanted to rip any customers head off! The young woman who served me initially was pleasant. Won’t return unfortunately.

This is a nicely laid out cafe in the Union Square shopping centre. There was a decent range of snacks and hot and cold drinks, and prices were reasonable. Service was friendly and quick. The only two negatives were tables were not cleared quickly, and unfortunately, the toilet door had an out of order sign on it.

I came in with my family and it was a little bit busy, we had ordered a couple of drinks and some of them were blended and it was taking a few minutes and I realised we had less time til our bus then I thought, but still had a wee bit of time so i asked if I could pay for our drinks as we have a bus to catch soon and the lady snapped and she told me I didn't ask for take away, I didn't want to rush her but we had been waiting about 5 minutes and just wanted to sit down before we caught our bus. I understand it was busy I don't want to be rude, I just want to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else as its an unpleasant experience.

We had a great catch up over afternoon tea at Muffin Break. The sandwiches were well filled with a good range of fillings. The cakes were plentiful and varied too. Once served, we got free refills on our drinks. The staff from taking the telephone booking to serving were polite and friendly. At 12.50 a head it was great value.

Bought 2 coffees & 2 buns- nearly £13. The blueberry muffin and cinnamon swirl were both stale and tasted like they had been made at least 2-3days before. Best avoid places like this and go to somewhere that bakes on the premises. The coffee was okay…..but there was no Wi-Fi and no phone service available in the location!

I was between buses, very hungry and the panic is looked great. The staff were lovely throughout and the place was not too busy so I saw two other people being served and what they had looked great, though I did see at least one other person querying something that was brought. I waited a long time. When the panini came it was very brown and that turned out to be because it was very hardened and chewy, but by then my next bus departure was looming… so I chewed. Quite simply the worst panini I have ever had. With more time, I’d have put it back. The thing is, I thought it could be a one-off or a genuine mistake and didn’t want to review based on one experience so I went back on my next journey through Aberdeen bus station a few days later…or tried to, but I looked in the window at all the fresh looking panini and other stuff and chickened out because I’d really like the next one to be a 5 star to do justice to the staff, who deserve it. With more time, I’ll go soon.

Today I had the worst sandwich/toastie ever. Totally disgusting. After a long day at a hospital appointment I was hungry and thirsty at around 3 pm. . Met 2 friends for coffee in muffin Break ( recommended!!!) and ordered a toastie from a very poor selection of what was left. This was duly toasted. Then- before I was given it, the server proceeded to make our 3 coffees before taking pay so I couldn't just walk off with the toastie. I commented on this and was told this was protocol to make food before taking pay. By the time I sat down the toast was not only cold but only toasted on one side. Not only that it was cut very raggedly and looked totally unappetising. I asked for it to be re toasted. The staff member said she would bring it back over to the table. When she came back she said “it will be hot now”. YES_-It was inedible, it was rock solid on the top and was so overheated the cheese was brittle. I should have sent it back and got my money back. I ate what I could but it was disgusting. I didn't complain because there was nothing else I could have eaten and the friend who recommended the place was with me. I then had to get on a train for a long journey home-- no service on the train. I could have cried when I passed Costa on the way to the train and saw all their lovely sandwiches - should have gone there. The place was also pretty dirty. NEVER EVER AGAIN. Just don't go there.

We have eaten in Muffin Break several times and both the food and service were good. Unfortunately on our last visit (15/10) the service fell far short. We had ordered food and soft drinks, but then had to ask for glasses. One of these was unwashed, so had to ask for another. We waited for our food - longer than usual and I went to see where it was. I noticed our order and at that time a waitress collected it. Good. I went back to our table and waited. It was some time before HALF the food arrived at our table. Where was the other half? Excuses, excuses.. I said don't give me excuses, you've given part of our order to someone else - get this sorted fast! A few minutes later a different waitress delivered the missing dish and quickly disappeared. Now, the food was good so I've no problem there, but the service was very poor.

We had an afternoon tea which we had purchased with an Itison voucher which I would say was good value for money. Lots of cakes, a few little filled rolls and a sausage roll. Our only issue is that you just get one cup of coffee or one little pot of tea and really another drink was needed as some of the food items are more dry.

So, today me and the family were looking for somewhere to eat. We decided muffin break looked great - and after walking past for many years we finally decided to try… ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING EXPERIENCE TO COME. . So we order our food, 1 panini, 1 tortilla, 1 toastie and we ordered 8 cakes to give the place a good shot. They heated the food up So far so good. (Or so we thought) We collect our food and then find a table. As soon as i started eating my food it was soon to be obvious it was STONE COLD. When I say cold, I do mean ice cold. However I have worked within hospitality industry and I know things can go wrong. So I take the panini back to get reheated. While being reheated my relative noticed there’s was the same, so back we go with the tortilla that was ordered. My sister who was having the toastie, noticed the same but by this point she didn’t want me to go back up, understandably. The staff member instructed me that she would bring the food over to the table. When we received our food the waitress made a comment about how “it will be hot now”. She was RIGHT! My panini with inedible, it was rock solid on the top and was so overheated I would’ve burned myself if a piece fell on me.. The tortilla was like a mountain of slop, it all just collapsed with a rock hard top layer due to being overheated (bless my gran as she actually ate the thing due to not wanting to cause a problem) I was not impressed by this point and then went up to the counter, again, and at this point we had spent like £30 so I just wanted a refund. I have worked in this industry and I know the server was just being difficult. I know this because when I went up to the counter to get a refund , she didn’t even turn around and look at me AT ALL. (I dealt with another lady) I don’t know if it was the manager, supervisor or just a Temp - who knows as she didn’t even introduce herself or her role there. When I was explaining the situation to whoever this woman was she then tried to explain how I asked for it to be heated again and that’s why it was so hot. I then went on to explain how it wasn’t heated properly due to all the sandwiches being on the same tray when put into the oven for 2 minutes, to which she replied “I’m unsure about that as I wasn’t here”. That statement was correct, she wasn’t there at the time.. so how did she know so well that I asked for them to be heated again. I don’t understand why some hospitality workers are so rude when ultimately the problem could’ve been solved so easily. The rudeness that came across with the staff member who had died hair was unbelievable. Upon exiting I noticed that there was this sticky liquid all over the cake cabinet, was on the roof of the cabinet all the way down to the bottom, to the point it was on the sausage rolls. I uploaded pictures of this for yourself to see. The whole experience was a disappointment because the food looked and sounded really good! On the upside the drinks were nice. But unfortunately we won’t be back & I’m sure I’m not the only customer to notice how rude that one member of staff was. She shouldn’t be in hospitality.

We visited this Costa this afternoon after what had been a long tiresome day hoping to get a nice coffee before our journey home. There were dirty tables and when we asked a member of staff to clean one so we could sit down we got a mouthful of abuse. So we left and went upstairs to the Pret a Manger which was much busier but they had nice clean tables and welcoming staff. Will not be visiting Costa again but would definitely recommend the Pret a Manger if you are visiting the Bon Accord Centre!

Have been to the coffee shop with friends twice recently. The first time was in the afternoon on a Saturday and we didn't realise that the coffee shop closed at 3pm! The assistant closed up and started vacuuming but did not rush us away and we stayed for another half hour chatting. It is a shame it is not open a bit longer. The second time we went in the morning and the coffee shop was busier. There are quite a number of tables so plenty places to sit. Both times the staff were pleasant. and the coffee shop clean. The scones are very nice. Would come back again.
