Ms Mistry's Indian Tapas Lounge in Sheffield

The Restaurant is very friendly and the owner very helpful, the food is wonderful and all freshly prepared on the night. Have been there several times and would highly recommend it. Food reasonable and everything very clean.

Came with a friend and we were blown away by the quality of the Tapas all home made and cooked fresh on our arrival. We made to feel so welcome and the welcome felt genuine. We will be definitely be returning .

A fantastic place . Like all businesses staffing is an issue but despite this Ms Mistry was able to accommodate all customers . The restaurant was busy . This is not average food it’s extraordinary . Unique never tasted these spices before they import a lot from India . This is why they have food we have never seen in Sheffield before . A must visit , all dishes are amazing . We didn’t know what we were ordering but it was some of the best food I’ve ever tasted . The flavours are completely different to any “indian “ in Sheffield . Speak to Ms Mistry about the decor etc, the history is interesting . There are more positive reviews than poor ones for a reason , definitely visit this place .

It’s so refreshing to find a restaurant that has been so well thought out and clearly cares about its customers. Very welcoming and tasty recipes too!

Visited this place as we enjoy Indian tapas. I phoned to book a table for 6.30 but was told they could do 6.45 as they had a party booking. We arrived and the place was completely empty bar 1 other couple. There was just 1 lady doing everything who I presume was Ms Mistry. She was very friendly but everything seemed very disorganised. We were served table water which was warm and she then went off to find some ice. 10 mins or so later she came back with some in a mug, not cubes but just bits as if she’d chipped them off a freezer…….she did tell us they didn’t have any ice cubes made. I ordered a cocktail and the lady said she’d got a new cocktail menu, I wasn’t shown this. She proceeded to tell me she could make me something with rum, pineapple & coconut. I agreed to this. When it came, it didn’t have any ice in and was warm. I used some of the melted ice clippings out of the mug. It was just as if she was making it up as she went along. We both ordered the meat thali which was nicely presented but the portions were very small, one or 2 mouthfuls in each bowl. We were told we could have top ups of any that we liked and we had some more of the meatball and chicken curries. The food we were served was actually very nice but we just felt we were being served whatever they had left both with food & drinks. The decor is errrrrr different, a large mural of Greek buildings in one side and a painted chipboard bar with decks at the other and Indian style cushions on the benches. We went down to the dessert place down the road when we’d finished as we were still hungry and didn’t feel comfortable asking for any more. If they got their act together this could be a nice little place as the food was quite tasty but it was just so disorganised and confusing. Would I go back, probably not.

Really enjoyed a good night out at Ms Mistry's. As other reviewers have said, the ambience is unusual (left over from a cocktail lounge??), but throw yourself into it and it is vibrant. The soundtrack is eclectic and a range of genres not normally my taste, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. But most of all I enjoyed the food: each dish is simple and delicious, full of flavour and freshness, with a good range of flavours across the thali. If you are looking for Michelin star refinement, look elsewhere; for truly tasty food, you've found it. Thank you Ms Mistry for your great food and warm, friendly service.

Awful place, bland food, and not very clean. We were brought a complimentary bottle of water (warm), and the 2 metal cups stank of sweat. the food looks ok, we had the meat Thali dish for 2, and the curries all tasted of nothing. all of the food had the smell of detergent. and a strange decor, it cannot make up it's mind if it is Indian or Greek, and terrible music. Never again.

Real food, freshly cooked. Tasty and well seasoned. The sharing plates are excellent and there is a good selection of drinks. Really relaxed feel to the restaurant.

Had a great dinner with my daughter. Tried a selection from the Tapas menu and all our choices went down really well, but were topped by the free sample of potato fritters that were served! Good vibe and friendly attentive service even with the manager having to deal with a very obnoxious and difficult client at another table. Highly recommended and will go back to sample more of the menu.

Delicious food in a cool setting at a really reasonable price. The owner is ace! You won't be disappointed.
