M&S Cafe in Flintshire

I visited on the first days of January and am pleased that the review from the person on the 24th indicates that every issue that was the complete opposite in my experience had been addressed and it's marvelous that attitudes and service have been turned around completely. A magic wand has be waved so I look forward to a pleasant experience on my next visit.

My friend and I quered up to order our food and drinks then when we went to find a table, there was none available. This is in no way the staffs fault, it was just a busy lunchtime. However, one particular staff member came over oppologising that they normaly keep an eye on the tables. She said that they would make a fresh hot drink so that our drinks would not go cold whilst we waited for a table and they also put our hot food order on hold. They were really swift when a table became free, like nothing was too much trouble. I wish all places could provide such outstanding customer care and service.

A very long wait in the queue. Understaffed. One lady taking the order at the point of sale, who then proceeded to make the hot drinks and plate up the cakes. I was in the queue for a good ten minutes. Two customers were in front of me. Several customers waiting behind me. I’m not entirely sure how hygienic it is for someone to handle cash, take payment, and then prepare food and drinks? However, it saves M&S on their wage bill by keeping costs down! Marks and Spencer management have clearly chosen to reduce their costs by keeping staff to a bare minimum. Staffing levels are stripped to the bare minimum, and it is the customer who experiences the direct consequences of that in having to wait at the counter for an excessive amount of time. I feel sorry for the staff who have to put up with these working conditions. They look shattered. Not a good experience at all.

Slow from ordering, Getting the food and then as it was late afternoon Sunday felt we needed to hurry up. Rude man on till . 2 people doing everything serving. Taking cash, making coffees, preparing food, cleaning tables , brushing the floor, not with a smile May I had. So customer service was horrendous. We shop in M&S most days and didn’t expect that kind of service. Awful

One person serving and making the drinks, therefore slow and no hand washing. Long queue. Cold environment. Americano good, and Eggs Royale cooked perfectly.

Nice cafe the staff are friendly enough but oh dear service is painfully slow ,waited over 20 minutes for a coffee and there were only 2 people in front of me !!

Lovely attentive staff couldn't do enough for us. Were so nice with my little boy :) never been treated so well at a cafe to be honest. Rebecca was especially kind and patient

Brilliant as always, go on, do yourself a favour & treat yourself to the M&S experience, a large hot frothy latte & a toasted tea cake, you know you won't be disappointed.

I went to the cafe with my little girl to have a Mummy and Daughter lunch treat and as the cafe was quite busy I used my initiative and waited for a table to be free before ordering any food. Once a table became available I let my daughter sit at it and watch the shopping whilst I went to purchase some M&S culinary delights. I had my tray full of lovely food and was waiting to pay when the lady at the till asked the people in front of me whether they had a table to which they said no, she then asked me and I proudly said yes thinking she would have served me first, however she proceeded to patronisingly say that I should give up my seat to the people in front of me as tables should not be saved prior to ordering food. I was so stunned by this and her accusingly rude tone that I just got my daughter and left the cafe. Having pondered this since my visit I feel I must write this review as I believe the process is totally unfair. There was no sign to say you had to order food before selecting a table, and indeed, why would there be? Why would you actually obtain food without knowing you could eat it at a table? I am very disappointed in M&S, specifically the “lady” behind the counter who obviously had not had sufficient training to be able to deal with customers in the appropriate manner. I note this is a one off incident as usually M&S staff are extremely helpful and polite.

J’y allais, de temps en temps, il y a 1 an..... On est servis comme a une cantine , et les employees sont souvent a travailler dans des conditions tres étroites , et cela se ressent....il y a peu de bonne humeur

Don't bother coming today. Service slower than a sloth on antidepressants. It's hard to know why everything is so sloooow.

The staff are friendly and helpful, coffee and snacks are tasty and good quality, only drawback is it’s quite cold ( nice on a hot summer day) so you have to drink up quickly

We decided to pop in for a coffee and cake. Very busy and small but we found a table near the counter. Whilst queueing I noticed that piece of Lemon Drizzle Cake per slice was £2.75, granted 5p was to go to charity, but come on. So we purchased a medium Latte and a Cappuccino, a small Shortbread biscuit and a small Caramel Waffle, which in total came to a £1.00 cheaper than two main meals at the local pub. Well M & S, Dick Turpin used to wear a mask!! We shall not be darkening their doorway again.

Food and drink is as you would expect in M & Sand staff are friendly but tables are tightly packed together, it’s really difficult to take a buggy in and find a place where you’re not in the way.

We were shopping and bumped into our Daughter who blagged a meal from us! We luckily found table for 3 and I waited while my Wife and Our Daughter went and chose the eats. 2 Latte's and a Coffee,as well as three sets of the M & S Sandwich Packs. Very tasty sandwiches and nice latte's.

Very often there are long queue's to be served, tables not cleared away when there is a table is available.

M&S small cafe at the side of their store on the Broughton retail park was organised chaos.The staff had no direction and waiting for 1 tea & 1 coffee took 20 mins. I would of liked another coffee but couldn’t face the wait

There were empty tables, but they were full of dirty crockery. I don’t think there were enough staff available. The coffee was ok, but not very warm.

Eine hohe Qualität von Essen ist M&S Markenzeichen, und so was in einem Café angeboten, muss einfach funktionieren und hier ist es so. M&S ist sehr original in der Essen Sortiment und es ist im Café auch reflektiert.

Después de nuestra tienda llamado semanales. Comida iban de sándwiches frescos, sándwiches tostados de sopa, etc. Mi marido tenía el sandwich y dijo que tenía un montón de llenado con pan fresco. Tuve un pollo y bacon sandwichera. Se podría haber hecho con un poco de salsa de arándano, ya que estaba un poco seco. Otros estuvo bien. Pasteles eran bonitas y frescas. Servicio amable. Aseos bonito y limpio. Accesible en silla de ruedas.

This is the only cafe I go to when shopping at broughton shopping centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food lovely and fresh. There is always a queue but prople are happy to wait. Only thing I can say negative is the seating area is large but where you get the food etc is very narrow and I feel for the staff as there is not enough room.

first off it seems you have to clear your own table and take the dirty tray to the kitchen, then wait 15 minutes to be served by incredibly slow staff

Popped in at lunchtime and chose the chicken, mushroom and rice soup. It was delicious piping hot, it was served with two mini rolls one brown and one white, beautifully fresh. I really enjoyed it and the meal was served with a smile what more can you ask. Would recommend to any one who wants to pop in and out and not have to wait for service.

Great choice at this little cafe , reasonable prices and lots of friendly staff! 5 star from me and they cater for my meat free and gluten free diet which is very important to me !!! Thank you

Very Busy Cafe but a bit on the small size, Had to wait a bit for the food but that wasn't a problem It was served by a very Pleasant young lady and was worth the wait. tables were cleared and cleaned as soon as customers had finished eating, So all in all yes would recommend a visit
