£10 for an all you can eat buffet in China Town.. The dishes are cooked freshly and all the classics are there. Stuff you face and get on your way. What's not to like.

This restaurant is excellent value for money. It may not be fine dining but for a Chinese buffet in central London, it's unbeatable. The thing to remember is they only accept cash and don't serve alcohol.

Awful experience, staff were rude, they just want you in and out as quickly as possible. We were taken to a table and shed what drinks we wanted. My wife and sister in law asked for tap water and were told “we don’t sell water”. My wife explained that they did not want bottled or sparkling water just a glass of tap water and was told that the restaurant did not serve water. My wife explained that they legally have to serve tap water but was told no. We promptly left. How can Trading Standards allow this business to operate if they refuse to serve water!!!!!

Low quality and less options, the food is bad, there are hairs found from those buffet food. Restaurant is dirty, waiters wash forks in a grey pot which has a piece sticker one side, then they used the same pot to top up fried noodles after a few minutes.

Absolutely delicious food. Choice of noodles, plain rice and egg fried rice, as well as several meat dishes, 2 different sauces (sweet and sour and curry), salt and pepper potatoes, chips, spring rolls and of course prawn crackers. The food was continually being re-filled and was hot. I mean it's small and if you don't mind small spaces you will be okay. It's Cash ONLY, which did mean some people walked away, but it was continually busy. Max tine you can sit in is 1 hour 30 mins, but let's be honest that's plenty of time. This is an all you can eat buffet, you can sit in for £9.95 per person, or you can get a take away box (that you fill yourself) for £5. Either option was good price wise, there was also outside seating which some people that got the £5 box were using Definitely make this my go to eatery.

rice is dry, not a big selection of food, chicken wings have no meat on them could mistake them for pigeon legs, although what more can you expect it’s only £5 to eat outside which isn’t the worst considering how bad the food is. don’t recommend as it may leave you in the bathroom for a few hours.

Great food and they do Chinese desert, which I like. Unfortunately, the staff at reception are quite noisy and keep on banging the pot and pans. Maybe due to the ground floor being small, so more amplified? The last time I went, it was closed for refurbishment.

I’ve been to Mr Wu’s many times, but not since Covid. So it was sort of the same but somewhat different, many of the old favourites are there but maybe a couple were missing. I have to say that the quality was a bit off a not as good as it was. However for the price it remains great value.

I think people are being a bit hard on Mr Wu’s. It isn’t a gourmet experience, but if you want that, you need to pay a lot more in this part of town. You can eat as much as you like and there is fresh salad as well as the catering pack Chinese staples. The sweet and sour pork is crisp, there are vegetable options and the prawn dishes have lots of prawns in them. Puddings taste of nothing at all, but there is always tinned pineapple.

I have visited this establishment, wonderfully situated on Shaftesbury Avenue in the heart of London’s ‘Theatreland’, several times in the last year and it has never been anything but a most satisfying experience for me or any of my friends. I cannot believe all the negative reviews on here. There’s another place with the exact same name very close by in London’s ‘Chinatown’ and it’s obvious that most of these reviews should be for that one. I used to go there regularly until a few years ago, but only because it was cheaper than anywhere else. This Mr Wu is much larger with very many more choices, including duck and king prawns as well as desserts. It’s an ‘all-you-can-eat’ buffet and you can fill your plate as many times as you like for the one price, which has been £12.95 recently. Drinks are inexpensive considering the West End location. Take note that cash only is accepted here. The only possible downside is that it often gets very busy and the tables are very close to others, but if you want more space and comfort you can always go elsewhere - and probably pay twice as much. Unlike some other Chinese buffets you don’t have to pay in advance, and I’ve always found the staff here very polite and friendly.

Went here in December 2022 when on a weeks birthday trip. Wasn't expecting much at £8.95. But was surprised as the food was just how we like it. The Chicken wings were to die for, lovely noodles, beef in black sauce and lots of lovely diffrent stir fried veg if your a veggie and nice spring rolls. Staff were great. The place is small and basic inside but clean. And at £5 to take out a tub of food is amazing value. We went to another place we had been to before a few years ago and although the Chinese food was good we payed a smal fortune for it and agreed it was much better at Mr Wu's. So good infact we ate 3 times here and we're very fussy about our food. Just wish they had a place like this were I live I'd eat there every week if I could.

I am really surprised to read some of these reviews. I have been here several times and always enjoyed it. Although it means carrying your food downstairs I recommend it as it's much quieter down there and there's no music. Even though the price has increased to £11.95 plus 10% service charge it still represents excellent value for money considering its location (right opposite what is now called the Sondheim Theatre). There is a huge selection of dishes which are constantly replenished. Unlike other establishments nearby the food isn't displayed in the window but you are welcome to go in and have a look before deciding whether to eat there. Each container is clearly labelled so you can leave out what you don't like. I pigged out, starting with vegetable soup then seafood risotto then chicken legs & roast duck with lovely fresh broccoli then salad with hard boiled egg and finally prunes with raspberry blancmange (it's a pity the rest of the fruit is out of a tin), The staff, whom I found perfectly pleasant, gladly gave me a clean plate for each dish. I had a glass of perfectly acceptable red wine with my meal and my companion had a pot of Chinese tea (£1). Chilled tap water was supplied on request.

First I would advise potential eaters, to pay little attention to the negative reviews they might read. I have eaten here on several occasions, over the past 4 - 5 years and have NEVER been disappointed. You have to compare like with like. Mr Wu's is an 'Eat as much as you like', Chinese buffet. It is just around the corner from Chinatown and so has many competitors. It is always packed - testimony to its popularity! The price of £10.95 is exclusive of service charge, so be prepared to add this to the cost. The choice of dishes is outstanding and not limited to Chinese. This I see as a positive, as the tourists that frequent it, come from all over the world and may wish to try cuisines other than Chinese, all under one roof and at a budget price. All the food is well prepared and presentation is very good. When dishes get a bit low, new ones are brought out to replace them. The selection varies from, roast duck, chicken, king prawns, sweet and sour pork, fried rice, boiled rice, noodles, soup, a variety of well cooked (not over cooked) vegetables, fresh salad (Vegetarians take note) and desert. I could go on and on as their are too many dishes to list and far more than I have ever experienced in similar places. Yes, it does have its faults, it's not perfect. Sometimes a dish may be lukewarm, or running low, but that happens in all buffets. Personally, I would like to see ice cream and/or evaporated milk, with the deserts, as tinned fruit on its own can be a little dry. Seating is a little cramped - hence the 4 stars. If you are in any doubt, about trying Mr Wu's, go in and ask to look at what's on offer, before you decide. I think you will agree with me. Don't expect the Ritz, or Pizzaland and you won't be disappointed!

This has to be the worst Chinese I have been to in years. The food in the buffet was cold bland and lacking any redeeming features. Yes it’s cheap but no excuse for flavourless food. Avoid this place.

Auch wenn die Tische eng zusammen stehen, fanden wir das Essen ausgesprochen gut.

Before I dive into the details of my experience at this restaurant I would like to strongly advise anyone considering this restaurant to not even bother. My cousins were in the city and we wanted to go out for a lovely family dinner in central however I could 100% say that this dinner was far from that.

If you want something quick then it’s ok. Really small restaurant, so a bit squished but food wasn’t bad and was pretty cheap. If you are looking for a grab and go then it’s perfect!

Staff were rude and abrupt on entering. Drinks order taken and bill had to be paid upfront. Self-service buffet style food with very limited options. Food was bland and nearly hot if stirring the dish before putting on plate. Tables are crammed together (had to keep moving out my seat to let others out to get food). Toilets were disgusting, need to wipe feet upon exit. Will definitely not be returning even if food is given away for free!

Value for money buffet. Service charge added on for what? Dirty toilets with no toilet paper. Usually busy.

Yeah it's got a small selection when it comes to Chinese all you can eat, yeah they cram you in, yeah there's minimal love and affection regarding the service or the food, but it's the centre of London, you have hot food ready as soon as you sit down, and it's £10.95.

Yes it cheap for London. £10.95 for a buffet, but there is little choice and its certainly not quality food. Very disappointing. They have one prawn dish that looks amazing and does taste nice, I think that is what entices you in. But the rest is awful. Even the Coke and Lemonade drinks were flat.

The food is not bad but the service is horrible. The waiter accidentally split a lot of soy sauce on my jacket when taking the dishes away and when we called him back he said we did it ourselves!! He was rude and arrogant. There are plenty of similar restaurants on the same street, better try some of the others!

We ordered at 9pm. At 9:45 the food had not arrived (the restaurant is only a 5 minute drive). We called the restaurant and they told us that the food would be with us in 25 minutes. We called again 45 minutes later as the food still hadn't arrived. They told us "6 minutes". It wasn't until 20 minutes after that when the driver called us because he couldn't find the flat (not his fault). In summary: the food was fantastic and we would definitely order from them again. But we received our food an hour after it was supposed to arrive. This is unacceptable. The strange thing is that the exact same thing happened to us with a local Indian restaurant 10 days ago. Perhaps this is an issue with Just Eat and the restaurant didn't receive notification of the email, but if that's the case then the restaurant lied about how soon we would receive the food we had paid for.
