‘King prawn curry with rice special’, should read ‘rice with a spoonful of curry’. Rang to complain and they didn't care. All food ordered was also cold. Food used to be nice there but food and service there is now poor

Triple Crown, pork fried rice and prawn crackers all good. Tuesday evening delivery. Arrived quick and hot. Ordered through Cannock Eats

Chicken curry and fried rice with chips are unbeatable I've noticed the curry sauce has gone abit on the hot side tho apart from that never had a problem I need to know what brand of curry sauce you use or supply me with a free life time of the stuff 😂😂😂

I really hate giving bad reviews but I feel this is needed. I should of checked google reviews before ordering because there’s a reason it’s has such a low rating. The food was below par, in fact was rancid. Crispy shredded beef should be a safe option but it was the worst I’ve ever had full of carrots 🥕 should be crispy shredded carrot. I would give 1 star but the extra star rating is for the prawn crackers because that’s the only thing I ate. Avoid

This is probably the only Chinese takeaway to go to if you want a decent service good quality tasty food at a reasonable price love it❤️

Absolutely rubbish they were late then they just left the order at my door without knocking when I rang to complain the driver was rude on the phone and very defensive. The food I received was cold and hard and over priced I didn't even receive prawn crackers which I would expect. Don't use this Chinese it's overpriced and the staff are rude

Enjoyable, but I would have liked a little more of the curry sauce on my meal.

Ordered a take away. Delivery was on time and correct, but that was the only flawless part. The food itself was pretty bad. Their crispy chilli beef was really hard crunchy sticks that tasted like they were coated in a salt crust and the chilli they use is only dried chilli flakes. The chow mein was tasteless and had very few veggies in it and the egg fried rice was very heavy on the soy sauce and light on actual egg. They sent Free prawn crackers and a fortune cookie which was really useful in getting the bad taste of the rest of the food out of my mouth. I don’t think there are any good Chinese take away in cannock area, but the taste of this meal has put me off trying anywhere again.

Ordered on uber etas waited 90 mins then looked at update - Resturant cancelled order without telling us. Update to reply: Uber eats stated it was well within the delivery radius otherwise it wouldn't have let me order. If I was outside the delivery radius then how did I order ? You guys just couldn't be bothered.

Worst Chinese curry of my life that I ordered last night. The sauce was too runny and so hot/spicy that I couldnt even eat my curry . I've never had a Chinese curry that spicy and I've tried alot around the world! The rice was dry and horrible too. My other half enjoyed his lemon chicken and chips.

I have ordered two mix meat curry with egg fried rice and some chilli chips. Never ordered from this place before…. So I thought I should give it a try…. The curry and the chips were that spicy that me and my partner could not eat more than 2 forks each. Also, there were bearly any meat in the tray. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Have used previously - food acceptable/average at best - but won't be using again after last night! We had friends visiting, one who is unable to eat after 7pm, so the first thing I asked before ordering, at just before 6pm, is roughly how long it would take for our delivery to arrive. We were told it would be 'within the hour' so we placed our order. Following two phone calls from me to chase, our luke warm rice, cold chips and warmish mains arrived at 7.55, almost two hours after ordering! During the phone calls, two female members of staff and apparently Mr Tang himself, could be heard bawling and shouting at each other. We were told the meals left them 'in time to be delivered at 7pm', then 'left at 7.20', and also 'we don't look at the time every order goes out so I don't know!' The 'driver has perhaps chosen the wrong route to get to you!' (He had time to make a detour to Birmingham in that time!!) 'The drivers have up to four deliveries to make each time they are out' and 'your meal will have been kept warm in bags!' Also 'there's no reason why it shouldn't be with you by now as we're not busy - really quiet!' A Chinese that's not busy on a Saturday night?? I wonder why??!!Staff blamed the driver, driver when he finally arrived, said 'I know they will blame the driver, but it's only just been cooked!' Appalling customer service - wouldn't be so bad if the food was worth the wait - it's not!! AVOID!!

Before Xmas after a very busy day we thought we would treat ourselves to a Chinese. We wish we never bothered. Took a very very long time to come. Arrived stone cold, chicken balls were raw in the middle with soggy batter, crispy chicken was just strips of tasteless oily batter no chicken in sight. We had duck curry and chow mein which both had an awful after taste. Not one thing was decent out of an order of a variety of things. When we called to express we was unhappy the staff were very rude and obnoxious, they really didn’t give a hoot!! Save yourself your time and money and order from golden valley in wimblebury you won’t be disappointed or out of pocket !!!

Love there food what more can you say except if you haven't tried them do so

We haven't ordered here for a while as we found the food had gone down hill the last couple of times we used it. I'm glad they got rid of the Chinese guy who answered the phone as he was in desperate need of some customer service training. The young blond girl who worked there was always nice and friendly. Portion sizes of the food are on the small side however. The sweet and sour chicken cantonese style smelled like wet laundry when we had it which, although tasted fine didn't fill me with confidence when I opened the box. Sorry guys, won't be visiting again.

Had a good first impression here but tried again on Saturday and it was pretty terrible. Bland and oily. They also said it was ready 20 mins before it actually was when collecting so had to wait more.

Food was tasty but they need to rethink on who ever deals with customer service as it was absolutely terrible. Waited 2 hours for food to be delivered When I called to question this the woman asked if I was sure I'd rang the correct take Way. For this reason I wouldn't order from this place again. Ordered a take away…took an hour to come but was not worth the wait. Watery chicken curry with dry cubes of chicken reminiscent of frozen chicken cubes…chips that smelled of aging oil from long ago…prawn on toast reminiscent of salmon paste sandwiches on a cheap bread loaf deep fried.After a few mouthfuls I decided my heart health was more important than my stomach being full and disposed of the garbage. I did call and advise the “restaurant” of my thought about their food, they offered to get the owner to call me back but I declined. I would need to be starving and have lost my taste buds to order food from this establishment again. A truly awful takeaway!

Placed my order 7:15pm and got told i could pay via link, so i waited for a link followed with it and sent a payment, after making the payment i got a order saying my food has “been cancelled” i called up to see what had happened as money left my account. They told me not worry and to send a second payment to a second link they would send to me i continued to do so and everything was fine. waited a hour and called to see where mt food was, got told at 8pm it was “5 minutes away from my address” at 8:25 still no order so i called back and they told me they would chance it up, they called back and said he is “5 minutes away” i tried to explain my frustration and i got belittled. I told them that i will wait another “5 mins” but if my food was cold i wanted my money back, he said that wasn’t possible and i couldn’t have a refund. they guy i spoke it on the phone about my order was absolutely rude and tried to pull the fast one over my eyes even though i know how hospitality works as i work in food industry myself. Customers are always right and the attitude on the work colleagues here is vile. when i finally got my food the chips was manky and vile they was cold and tasted rubbery. Tried to share the chicken curry out equally and only had 5 pieces of chicken the rest was sauce. Horrendous services and food will never be ordering from here again. They need to revisited there customers rights and policy

Used to be the Best takeaway in Cannock but the last time I ordered it was shocking. The crispy beef was so overcooked it was like eating powdered batter.

Food just wasn't good at all sauce is watery meat has little to now flavours same with rice and was way more expensive than other places really disappointed with this

Worst takeaway ever! Expensive for over cooked chips and the Cantonese sweet and sour chicken was more 🥕 carrot than chicken and very vinegary. Rice greasey and ribs had little meat and very tough. Only good thing was delivery was reasonably quick

Ordered chillie crispy chicken dry amongst other things . What came was not chicken I have no idea what it was dry burnt batter I think with no chicken in had to be thrown away . The chow maine had a funky taste and the curry sauce was okay . Never mind the fact the rice cost nearly 3 quid and the tub was tiny . Complete waste of money I don't know how they can send food out of that quality I won't be ordering again

Waited nearly 2 hours for my order to arrive. It wasn't worth the wait. I basically threw away £40 worth of untouched food as it was disgusting and bland, meals bulked out with carrots and water chestnuts,meats were nasty i wouldnt even give it to my dogs. Chips and chicken balls somehow greasy and dry, chilli beef like burnt cardboard. Disappointed i used to like it here

Ordered take away from here for the first time. Waited over 2 hours for food to be delivered. Rang the restaurant after the latest time they had said delivery would be and just got back ,”Sorry, we are really busy,” and hung up on. I understand restaurants get busy but have never waited over 2 hours for a chinese delivery. When food finally arrived it was cold and bland. I ordered a chicken curry with supposedly egg fried rice, couldn’t find any egg. Hubby ordered chicken fried rice and chips. The chips were cold and could tell they had been sitting out for a while, his chicken fried rice was bland. Such a shame as I don’t order chinese often and thought this would be a nice change. Will not be ordering from here again, very disappointed!

Where do I start, Food was over 30 minutes late, food wasn't warm and Pretty tasteless too. Rang the takeaway, some young girl answered with an attitude then hung up. Find another take away and don't waste your time with these.

I have been here a few times and in my own opinion it is not great. I have had sweet and sour king prawn ball twice and the sauce was nasty, it had such a strong vinegar taste that was overpowering. Curry sauce and chips in a tray is very nice, but the king prawn curry is not. The curry sauce tastes totally different and is of a thinner consistency in the king prawn curry. My last order was 26/08/21 I asked for special chow mein (they serve this in two trays) although I ordered in the shop it took about 20 minutes and when I got home the first tray was a tastless mixture of water chestnuts mixed meat and a couple of prawns but no noodles, open the second tray and found fried rice not noodles! Never have I seen a chow mein where the base was fried rice. I have now had enough and wont purchase from here again

We ordered our food through the phone and the takeaway was fast. Food was hot and tasty when it came and it really tasted like what we’be had back in China.

As nice as the food is it is just not worth the wait. After waiting two hours for a delivery to be told I would have to wait a further hour I then resulted to collecting my order with no discount and still had to wait a further ten minutes when I got there 🙄.

Food was good, but delivery was dire, had to wait over 2 hrs. I will not order a delivery from here again and will go to china dragon, jade garden or rice bowl not far away if I want a chinese within cannock area in future who can deliver quicker.

I ordered through Uber eats and my order was £33 I was told that they order would take 50-70 minutes which was fine. After 100 minutes I tried calling the restaurant no reply After 58 attempts, I have then Had to get someone to drive me to the shop and had to ask for my order the young girl was not that helpful but didn’t want to upset her I asked her for the manager to call me, whilst I was there my order arrived, upon getting home The food was cold and the chicken balls were raw. After this the young girl phoned me and said that I had to complain to Uber eats, she said the manager is not there till midnight and if I want to speak to call back then. Do not use greasy food and poor quality.

I never write a review about a restaurant but after the experience I received from this place I thought I'd share my shambolic service from this place! First of all the driver only delivers 7 pounds worth of our 50 pound order then when we actually receive the rest of our meal its cold, the ribs are chewy and cold, chicken balls soggy and chewy the sweet and sour was the consistency of water and tasted of what I could only describe as warm red vinegar with a hint of 5 spice the only saving factor of the meal was the chips and prawn crackers which let's be honest we can go to the nearest bookers and get ouselfs. When I rang the restaurant to tell them what was wrong with our order they has the audacity to tell me who has been the culinary industry for over 10 years that I didn't know what I was talking about and apparently that's how sweet and sour sauce should taste.. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND AVOIDING THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR EVENING RSTHER THAN DOING WHAT IM DOING AND WRITING ABOUT HOW SHAMBOLIC IT IS.. much love big mac xxi

Been waiting for over 3 hours for food they said it would only take an hour. When I ring to ask where it is after an hour and a half they say it's going to be another hour. After the extra hour still not here no apology no nothing.

Ordered Duck in plum sauce - it was duck skin and a whole tine of pineapples - horrid and so greasy. Also ordered Chicken Foo Yung - very little chicken and the egg which should have been light and fluffy, was hard and very overcooked. Disappointing meal.

Always have a Mr Tangs, never ever had a complaint food always hot and always delicious. Sometimes have to wait for delivery but nothing out of the ordinary for a sat night take away

Food rather disappointing. The duck in plum sauce was very, very fatty - didn't really have much duck meat.The chicken foo Yung had lots of egg but very little chicken. Definitely had better - think it's probably the worst chicken foo yung I've ever had. Won't be ordering from them again. On a plus note, the chips were nice.

Had to wait 2.5 hours for food but I’m not sure whether that’s due to the current circumstances. When I rang to see when it was due as it was over the estimated time they said the driver was on his way. Unfortunately no apology which I thought would be common curtesy. If I could rate the food alone it would be a 5. Best Chinese I’ve found in the area

Best Chinese we ever tried. Always used to go to Cheslyn Hay Chinese until we tried Mr Tangs, now we wont go anywhere else. Super tasty, always hot when delivered.

Food was average cant compare with rice bowl cannock. Was trying for first time mr tangs will never order again.

The best Chinese takeaway in Cannock. Delivery is not the fastest around but it is well worth the wait and always arrives hot. Good selection and the prices are very competitive compared to other Chinese restaurants. I can't praise this place enough.

AVOID mr tangs cannock!just spent £25, ordered special fried rice and given this gross concoction with a pot of fried rice, rang them and told that is there special rice!!also prawn crackers out of stock substituted with a can of coke?! All food over cooked, over salted and lackingy flavour! What a waste of money . Not happy

We ordered through just eat. We had to wait 1 hour and 40mins for our Chinese. When it did arrive the foods had leaked everything was greasy. The curry sauce had been squashed so that was everywhere. The food was tasteless. I would go as far as saying that was the worst Chinese I’ve ever had.

Ordered a meal via just eat, order accepted, then when it comes to being 30 minutes late I try calling them and can’t get through, when we do eventually get through to them ( the food is now almost an hour late), they say they can’t find our address ( even though they have delivered to us before) stating that they can reschedule the delivery, we stated that we didn’t want it and wanted a refund we were very politely told ( the exact words over the phone to us ) “ you ain’t having a F***king refund “, pity really as the food is very good here.

This was the worst experience not only did it take an hour to leave the shop they put that it was going to delivery So knowing it is 5 minutes drive from my house I stood outside for 25 minutes called the restaurant and then we’re saying the driver has been twice, when I was standing outside I am 100% he didn’t come then they said they tried to call and leave a message which was a total lie, then they tried to get me to pay delivery charge again to which I replied I am not paying delivery charge for something which hasn’t been delivered. Then we cancelled the order and they accepted the cancel straight away. You don’t cancel an order happily that you’ve just made and been driving around with. These guys are liars and I advise DO NOT GO HERE the stars they have are from their own staff lying.

They try to mug you right off. Try to make us pay for delivery AGAIN when our food didn’t turn up. They said they drove TWICE to deliver the food, yet what is strange is normally when you deliver food, you don’t just drive around, you deliver the food. Mental I know. And the other thing you have to do , is knock on the door ! To deliver the food ! What! Can’t believe every time we try to order there and give them another chance , they repeatedly fail to improve. Never known a place so agonisingly difficult to order food from.

Ordered a meal from here, but have a very serious food allergy & always add a note not to put the ingredient I'm allergic to in food, i also have an epipen with me 24/7. Meal arrived tonight with what im allergic to in it luckily I noticed before tucking in. So I phoned the takeaway to check note was read, first the employee who answered the phone was extremely unpleasant even though I was polite, she stated that the food didnt have any allergen in it, again politely advised why i cant have it & the consequences if I do, she became even more rude & was adamant that there was no allergen in the food & no note then refused to even listen to me or help resolve the issue. Will certainly not be using this restaurant in the future, especially when their employees can't be civil, appalling customer service!!

Horrible food, very slow service, they only accept cash if you collect, my advice is count your change.

Tried here for the first time since moving into the area... Only had 3 in 1's but wasn't great at all.. Rice and chips tasted stale and sauce had leaked all in the bag as the lids were not on properly so was very messy

Food came late. When it arrived they had sent something unrecognizable that should have been special fried rice, but was a tub of rice with a side of water chestnuts and Bambo shoots with onions. When we called to tell them they had sent the wrong thing they shouted "that's how we do it". Customer service was shockingly bad. If it was my last meal I wouldn't order from there again. Note to staff at Mr. Tangs. You need anger management!

Ordered over phone for collection. Went to pick up it didn’t seem like an authentic Chinese takeaway saw two people in and out of the back that weren’t Chinese. Ok they may be delivery drivers so this comment may be irrelevant. Anyway the food was totally bland in every way. Tasteless waste of money. Won’t be using this place again. We’ve used the Jumbo house for years but occasionally like to try somewhere different. Back to Jumbo house it is.

They forgot my drink and I phoned them 3 times in 2 hours and they kept saying “it’s on the way” and they were obviously lying.

I only live one mile away from Mr tans I took a thermal bag to put the food in to keep warm warm plates were ready but the food was cold a very short car journey I would only order in shop in future

We've recently started ordering our Chinese from Mr Tangs. We absolutely love the salted chilli chips. Delivery can be slow from time to time but I guess that's because it's a weekend but worth the wait 😊

Contacted after 1hour and 45 minutes and was told my order is the next one out. When I ask for a ruff time they forget to put the phone on mute and who I would say is the head cook said "it will be ready when it's ready, just tell them to wait" I was then told it is still cooking and I'll get it as soon as a driver is available. 30 minutes later still no food!!!! Tried to call them and the phone is constantly engage!!!!!!😂😂😂 Mr Tang's you get a massive thumbs up for delivery speed and customer service, top quality!! Not!!!!

Used to be pretty good however the last 2 attempts at delivery have left me waiting around 2 hours for food. The third tonight hasn't arrived yet over 2 and a half hours ago. Really disappointed in the service.

A regular customer here. Me and my partner always order from Mr Tangs because the food is really good. From our experience the delivery is on time, give or take 5-10 minutes. My only negative comment is ordering soup. The packaging is not very secure. I hope Mr Tangs can find a way to solve this.

Absolutely tasteless, disgusting, cold, rubbery, undercooked and overcooked. We had to wait 90minutes for delivery, to open up a bag of disappointment!! Literally the WORST Chinese I have EVER had! I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy and I feel sorry for the next set of poor sods about to receive the same rubbish. Not sure if real Chinese people work there but it’s an insult to ‘Chinese’. Think I’m about to get food poisoning so thanks guys for ruining my Sunday!!

Never done a review this quick before but I felt the urge. Having just spent £50 on multiple meals I have to say what a huge disappointment. We have just disposed of numerous half filled tubs with leftover veg as that's what most meals contained. Sweet n sour Cantonese was at least half filled with pineapple and don't get me started on chilli chicken, hardly any meat at all. We also ended up with a chicken pork and prawn dish which we have no idea what it was meant to be(didn't order a prawn dish) . Oh well back to China garden which we've never had an issue with contrary to poor reviews, lesson learnt and certainly won't be returning here.

Awful meal stone cold after a wait of over 2 hours for the third time!! Really rude over the phone to us and then had the nerve to call us abusive, iPhone reading their reviews anyone that complains is labelled as abusive or racist! A customer for over 6 years now and this place has gone to pot, if you want expensive cold food, with a really long wait and a mouthful of rudeness then this is the place for you. I am ordering from Stoney Lane tonight, hot tasty food, generally delivered in 45 minutes, polite staff, if you have any sense, order from them instead and you won’t have a ruined night trying to chase what should be a simple fast food order!
