Chicken curry is rotten. Tastes like a ready meal. Salt and chilli chicken alright but dry.

Absolutely amazing I have ordered the same dishes and must admit it was the hottest and freshest food - The food wasn’t the most technically challenging but honestly it was like it was just cooked in my kitchen even the chips where too hot 👍👍👍👍.

bang on time, excellent duck pancakes (they aren't kidding when they say half a duck), yummy ribs, solid chow mein - just delicious all round really. Also they threw in a free bottle of pepsi which definitely helped wash down all that grub.

Food excellent. Always delivered early and piping hot .

Can’t recommend Mr So enough. Generous portions, tasty food. Yes, delivery times might some times be long but I can understand why, best Chinese in Edinburgh, that’s why everyone is ordering.

Starters weren’t the same quality and main’s were very cold so had to reheat. Order was an hour early, to estimated time given and the driver wasn’t happy I wasn’t ready with a ‘tip’ so slammed the stair door closed- not acceptable

The chicken in sweet chilli sauce was not nice at all. Tasted more like soy sauce and had no sweetness to it. The curry was bland like it came out of a packet. I was disappointed with the order and won’t order from them again

Food was just alright, no special spark to it, not enough flavour

An hour and a half for a delivery. Absolutely ridiculous. Called twice to be told it was going to be 5 minutes and still took over 30 minutes after that to recieve food. Food was luke warm when we finally got it.

Tasty but fried rice just isn't the same when its just boiled rice with soy sauce mixed in and then the meats on top. Some actual frying in a wok would be nice. Chips were a bit on the undercooked side.

The whole meal has went to the hun was freezing cold chip was cold the prawn salads was the only thing that was saving the rest total waste the chips wer rock solid n cold I wouldn’t hand it to a homeless person if you ask me don’t think

Food was pretty old tasting. Crispy beef was soggy but the sauce was nice. Chow mein was flavourless. Chicken balls weren't cooked long enough so the batter was stodgy and oily. Will not order again from here

Mr So is an excellent Chinese takeaway. they've never let me down with portion size or quality with anything I've ordered from them.

Whilst some of it tasted good, 6 small pork balls for 6.60 is outrageous. Especially when the batter is stale and foamy and the pork inside is dry, chewy and leathery. On top of that the crab meat in the soup...not crab meat. 'Crab stick' meat is accurate. It's difficult to mess up chips, rice and curry sauce so that at least was eaten happily.

sweet and sour chicken balls burnt

Got a simple chicken fried rice. Portion of salt and spicy chips, normal portion of chips and some curry’s sauce. Waited near enough an hour for the food to be delivered. Curry sauce was absolutely vile tasted like something you’d get out of a packet from Asda. Chips were all soggy and chicken fried rice was disgusting. Don’t understand how you can mess up a simple chicken fried rice. Will never order from here again.

Our go to Chinese takeaway in Edinburgh. Every order so far has been correct, on time or even early and delicious too. Very satisfied.

Great food but won’t be ordering from here again. Had already experienced two occasions of receiving rice when we ordered noodles but this latest error ended up sending us beef and prawns when we ordered vegetarian. Disappointing because we loved it when they got it right.

awful. very late. when I called they were rude. still trying to get a refund as I refused the order when it finally turned up over half an hour late.

Starters. Chicken and sweetcorn soup and barbecue chicken wings. Mains. Prawns in black bean sauce , chicken in chilli and garlic sauce. Soft noodles. Soup was bland, no seasoning and the sweetcorn was crunchy, as if chucked in after the soup has been made. The barbecue chicken wings, should be renamed, chicken wings with barbecue sauce, as the chicken wings are fried with batter and then a dollop of barbecue sauce is dolloped on. Mains also bland, the chilli and garlic chicken , no seasoning and no taste of chilli or garlic. Prawnsin black bean sauce , again very bland, no seasoning. Not to my taste, cannot reccomend.

The crispy chilli chicken was burnt and didn’t taste the same as it usually does. A shame because it is normally very nice.

30 minutes late is not good enough

Use this takeaway regularly & tonight was lovely, although the last time via just eat was exceptionally busy, I hardly much meat in my mixed chow mien- just goes to show if they maybe had collection via phone line again when busy the food would be more yummy /constant x

Absolute joke of a place. Waited over an hour for an order that wasn't delivered. Driver said he knocked the door yet 3 adults and 2 dogs didn't hear anything. Person on the phone was incredibly rude suggesting that on future the door should be "open" what like drivers should just walk in. Horrible service

I travelled Edinburgh few months ago with my partner and we happen to order takeaway from this restaurant and believe it or not, all food that we order are the best! I am a chef and I can tell, they are on my top list of takeaway shops I have eaten so far in my life. My favorite there was.. forgot the whole name but its like a Salt & Pepper crispy pork. Fantastic batter and good balance of spices and saltiness. Definitely recommended! -Chef from Australia

Hadn’t arrived at specified time. Called them ‘it had left’ still took another 15 or so minutes - by that time they had updated the delivery time surprise surprise. Had to put in microwave as it was lukewarm. Not good . Just wish they put the true delivery times online ! 😬

Always order from mr so and it’s always good apart from the last few times. Food was cold and late. Then the portion size off my curry was half the dish it gets delivered in.

Most of food came quite cold, curry sauce tasted reheated.

I ordered special chow mein with bbq sauce and no onions but I received a chicken chow mein with onions in it and no sauce. It was dry and had to make my own sauce for it!!

as soon as I opened the Kung Po special I got a strange smell. The meat tasted very bad and I had to throw it in the bin. This is the first time I've had bad meat from Mr. So's. But it was pretty bad. The noodles were lovely though. Just a shame for the bad meat in the Kung Po.
