Mr Rice in South Lanarkshire

There lucky they are getting one star the woman behind the desk is so rude I walked in and she started shouting get out out no walk ins witch is fair if they had sings up but no she told me I had to phone Which was ok so I phoned and she now said they had no rice which is not fire as a family member just phoned and placed an order for rice not happy sort your staff

wish id not bothered very dry tasteless slop very little gravy 3 slices of chicken and 2 char sui went in bin wont be back defo

Worst Chinese takeaway I have ever tried, bland bland bland, very oily, don't know how you can make food taste this bad?! Girl at the counter was rude and spoke some form of unknown scottish, also tried to over charge me for my order. Never again!!! Be warned!!!! Negative stars if I could!!

Went in to order food and was told that I had to phone my order in, I never had my phone with me so I asked can they just take my order this time, I was told that I never had a face mask but surely that applies both ways however I ordered my meal and was going to wait outside when the oversized potty mouth said FFS and walked away. I told them to cancel my order and went less than 50mts and got my meal from the other Chinese which was better anyway. So much for keeping the local shops going in uncertain times like this.

Have had a couple of takeaways......... never again. Quality of food is poor, with home delivery time abysmal. Just reopened with restricted menus on duck dishes! In addition despite menu boasting “if any favourite dishes are not listed on our menu,please do not hesitate to ask”. The till assistant accepted a change to the happy meal ordered from rice to noodles with the offer made of paying extra until the appearance of the charge hand female She is persistently and consistently rude in the extreme, a total jobsworth who even contradicts till staff in front of customers j

Satay to die for. Salt and chilli chicken and chips to die for. When you reach over a certain price they even give complimentary meals like prawn crackers, salt and chilli wings and spring rolls. Delivery is normally instant and on weekends around 25 mins. Prices are medium to high. Definitely not cheap but worth it for this quality Chinese THE PORTIONS ARE MASSIVE

Collected two meals early in the evening - Singapore Fried Rice and Chicken Fried Rice. The latter was virtually inedible. There was plenty chicken, but it was so overcooked it was completely dried out and I was unable to eat it. Considering this was early in the evening, it tasted like it had been cooked several hours earlier. Certainly won't be back.

Not Good ……………………… up to you , had afew meals from here and service is really not good … what more can I say

I love Mr Rice because I’m a veggie and they do tofu, which almost nowhere locally does. Trouble is, they often call me back after I’ve ordered and say they have none left But when they do have it, it’s delicious. It gets very very busy at peak times so be prepared to wait

I have seen poor reviews about delivery but if you go to Mr Rice in person, the food is delicious. Would recommend.

absolutely gobsmacked at the terrible service me and my friends received from this takeaway service last night. we phoned down at approximately 7:15pm and placed a rather generous order, however-2 hours and 3 phone calls later we still had not received our dinner.

Home delivery was speedy. Quality and quantity was excellent. Japanese Udon was the best I have had in a long while.

Am fuming tonight I ordered £40 worth of food and 2portions of my Shredded chilli chicken never came when I phoned mr rice to report this the girls on the phone and was not helpful and put me through to a man who was rather cheeky to me and I’m not impressed at all I am under the impression customers come first but after this service tonight I will not be returning and the food was rubbish anyway

first time we tried mr rice beef and mushroom beef was like rubber unedible decided to give them a chance to-night just phoned in an order after 1.25 minutes still no order phoned back cancelled it person on phone not very nice very abrupt looks like cheese on toast for supper what a waste of time

Not a fan of Mr Rice, food not that great. Had a few meals from here now thinking that it was a one off but not impressed with it.

Phoned for pick up told 20 mins . Waited nearly an hour, rest of food picked up now cold arghhhhhh If it's an hour to wait ... tell people

Placed an order at 1820pm,was told it would be about 40 minutes,called after an hour and twenty minutes to be told that they were just about to deliver it,25 minutes later still nothing,. Phoned and cancelled the order,no apology, will never be back

BEST CHINESE TAKEAWAY IN STRATHAVEN!!! Food quality has been consistently amazing, prices are extremely reasonable & the service has always been above standard!

Perfetto per studenti che cercando di mangiare qualcosa di buono e abbondante per prezzi economici. Sono sempre stata un'amante del cibo cinese, una volta trasferita a Glasgow mi sono ritrovata spiazzata perché il gusto era molto diverso. Mr Rice è l'unico ad avermi soddisfatta, il personale è cortese, veloce nelle consegne, le offerte sono molto convenienti.

Phoned an order for collection and was told to pick up in 20 mins, waited and waited, meanwhile others coming in placing and collecting orders for multiple meals, still waiting!!!No apology. Eventually after over an hour and still no apology, picked up the meal only to discover a vital portion of sauce that came with a dish was missing, another trip to pick it up!! Again no apology and to add insult to injury they sneaked a paper Bank of England £5 note into the change which is now worthless. Needless to say we won't be back in a hurry

I just don't cook on a Friday after work, I order a Mr Rice and have a glass of wine, we have had many different variations of the menu and have enjoyed everyone, great food, never been disappointed

I have tried Mr rice a couple of times , the food here are tasty,however the counter lady always been unfriendly and impatient.

Had a big order is awful not as good as use to be, the chicken ball and chips is not cooked right, the prawb toast is not well done and the waiting time is too long. Not come again.

Arrived at strathaven late ....wanted quick meal before bed . Place looked clean , friendly staff and quick service. Food looked nice and fresh. Was hot and very tasty ....no complaints. Would return

Tried Mr rice a few times all haven't been great, this last time was terrible, phoned about our wrong order and their customer service was shocking and very rude, do not recommend at all, won't be using again!!

We have tried this place 2 times, fist time was not good but the second time was quite good. The first time the meat in the beef fried rice was tough and tasteless, the rice was very greasy. The 'crispy' aromatic duck was not crispy or tasty at all.The second time we ordered chicken noodle soup which good and again crispy aromatic duck which this time was tasty and very crispy (found a few bones). It is expensive and slow. It's only average.

Received a leaflet through my door today, upon returning from work I decided to order from this place as delivered menu look quite good. When I called to order I gave my address along with my order only to be told we do not deliver to your area. (I live in Quarter and Mr Rice is in Strathaven) when I told the assistant that I had received a leaflet advertising their restaurant I was told that there wasn't a problem. 30 minutes later I received a call from Mr Rice STATTING that under no circumstances will they deliver to Quarter. Think you need to brief your leaflet droppers before they do your drop Mr Rice but heyho there are many decent Chinese takeaways out there that deserve my business. Good luck!

First class Chinese food served promptly in generous portions at reasonable prices - what more can you ask for?

Food great, staff great!!! They recognise their customers incoming calls and the food is always ready when you arrive to collect it. They'll even do off-menu orders so delighted to have Mr.Rice in Strathaven.

I absolutely love the garlic chicken balls. This chinese is very clean and prompt. Excellent service and off freat meal deals. We have had nights in with our friends and have enjoyed great meals.Best chinese in strathaven by far!!!

Tasty stuff, quite expensive though. Nice place. People friendly. We call down and it normally takes them 10 mins to make it, quite long to wait.

We have used this takeaway on 4 or 5 occasions and it has always been excellent. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality takeaway.

We tried this takeaway a week ago & currently I would rate it as the best of four Chinese restaurants in Strathaven. The menu was very extensive including Japanese food. When we collected the order, we found the food piping hot & delicious. Because there were four of us we also received an extra free starter plus prawn crackers. Portions are large. When ordering again I would choose less!

We have just moved to the area and tried a take away from Mr Rice in Strathaven , food was delicious, it was delivered quickly and I would have no hesitation in recommending them. Great Job!!!

Just ordered our first take away from Mr rice and it was gorgeous. Best we've had yet. Got family over for Xmas who require a gluten free diet and Mr rice was only happy to provide which was a bonus. All the foot was prepared quickly and fresh. Portions were massive and really lovely. I also got the crispy salty squid and it was top notch! We've definitely found our Chinese take away...wish they'd go online though, that would be fab!

We have now tried Mr Rice several times, we will keep using them and as far as I am concerned, there is only 1 Chinese in Strathaven...

It was a lovely meal but the portions are very big and it is more expensive than other local take aways. Smaller portions would warrant slightly cheaper prices maybe? Overall delicious food.

Just moved into strathaven on Friday phoned for a home delivery which arrived in 20 mins . The portion sizes are large and the food is brilliant so that's us found our chinese takeaway won't be going anywhere else

Just had our first takeaway from Mr Rice, Strathaven. Very tasty with lovely chips and good pieces of chicken! Also reasonably priced with quick service.

We had take away while on holiday in the area. The food was fantastic. Prices, and quality of the meat was great. The portions were also good and everything piping hot. Even the boiled rice was particularly good. We really enjoyed our dinner and voted it one of the best we have had in years. I would highly reccommend. It was very busy but the wait was not long and the open plan kitchen is good fun to watch. Fantastic.

I am not sure that the Village might not have benefitted from many things rather thyan a forth Chinese carryout, that said it is quite good and better than 2 of the other 3, and as good as the 3rd.
