Mr Rice in Bournemouth

Ordered a takeaway on a Saturday night via Uber eats. Was really disappointed as it didn’t taste fresh at all. The prawn toast was inedible, it was so hard and chewy? Did not enjoy the chicken either as it had a funny taste. Some parts of the takeaway tasted ok but overall would not order again.

Ordered a takeaway and after an hour and half nothing had shown up, and when calling they hanged up - safe to say very disappointed and very unprofessional

Order regularly, i adore their set meal! it’s enough for 2 meals for one person (their small rice is NOT small haha). it’s really yum and always the same good quality. crispy shredded beef in peking sauce is so good too

Asked them for no soy sauce and they do it. Prices are great. Their driver is also a good and friendly person.

Best Chinese and Thai takeaway in Winton

Great option for a dine in night for the family, for two or even for one. They are very clean, great flavours, excellent prices and very quick delivery. This is our favourite Asian food take away!

I ordered to my hotel a meal for 1 and it could have fed 3 people! It was so delicious, I ate it ALL!!! 🤣 I had some duck as well, it was delightful. It's hands down the best Chinese I've had in a very long while. I would highly recommend.

Lovely place - use it a lot - great food for a takeaway - they will also do sauce separate on dishes like HK sweet and sour chicken, or crispy chilli beef which is a game changer for having crunchy meals at home

I get Mr Rice takeaway quite regularly for me and my partner. We order the same thing every time, the egg fried rice and the chicken fried rice and again and again it proves to be the best Chinese we’ve ever had. The staff are always lovely and the food is made quickly. It’s cooked perfectly and honestly just tastes really good. We’ve also ordered for delivery before and that experience is just as great. Would 100% recommend this Chinese to anyone. We recently craved it on a Tuesday, but unfortunately Mr Rice isn’t open on that day so we had to go elsewhere… it just wasn’t as good!!! We’re definitely gonna keep coming back here, and if you were looking for a sign of whether to go or not, this is it! Go and enjoy! :)

Food never arrived and when we called to try to get a refund and see where our food was and whether it was actually going to be delivered, they were very unhelpful, hung up the phone on us and told us to contact deliveroo directly even though they are an independent business from deliveroo

I have used Mr Rice for years and it has been my favourite takeaway for long time! Unfortunately I recently was charged double. I am not sure where the error came from. I used their own website, the order confirmation email was sent only once and we received one lot of food - like we ordered. 5 days later when I was looking at my bank account I realised that I had been charged twice (the same amount on same day). When I phoned Mr Rice I was told that they were too busy looking into it!?! It took me several phone calls and nearly another week to get my money back - and didn’t even get an apology. So unfortunately won’t be using them again. Check that you been charged correctly!!!

Excellent customer service on this takeaway, delicious tasty food and lots of incentives, we only asked if they do discounts , and Yes, they do as long as you have the right and correct ID, amazing ! I ordered over the phone for collection and within 10 minutes , food was ready !

Hi, my order through Uber eats was very disappointing. First of all I had waited 1 hour 50 minutes for my order, which was a £35 order. When I called up 1 hour after waiting they advised it would be 20 more Minutes which was incorrect, I politely asked if they could put some free food in there due to the long wait. The food came warm which is to be expected with Chinese , however they were very stingey with small portions and no free food. It’s quite usual where I live for Chinese restaurants to give free spring rolls or free chips - especially when there is a 1 hour and 50 minute wait ! Food was good ! But I would not order again as I do not expect a 1 hour 50 minute wait on a Thursday evening.

Amazing staff great food fast delivery

Truly excellent Chinese food! We frequently try highly rated places (4 stars and above) to see if they can 'top' our usual fave place. None have.... until now! We have ordered from Mr Rice twice now, so this isn't a one-off experience, and the food has been simply fantastic! Packed full of flavour and super fresh, with succulent meat, al dente veg, and we love the little extras (like the three sauces that come with the sharer starter)! Every dish is elevated from those offered by other top rated places. We would, and will, definitely recommend to people!!

Excellent food!! I was going to try all of the different Chinese restaurants in Winton when i first moved here to see which was the best. But this place is fantastic!! It's so good I dare not risk going elsewhere now in case I'm disappointed. I'm never ever disappointed here so why would I try the others? Its not like I can afford Chinese every other day. Limited delivery. Few months ago used to deliver to Bh2 area now that's removed. Was a decent Chinese but can't rate them higher now as service and delivery area has shrunk. Loyal customer will now find a place closer and once lost is hard to win back

Judging by all the reviews I hope our experience was a one off. It was our first time and ordered via Uber. The food was incredibly disappointing and bland and just lacked everything you hope for. My partner and I love food and its hard to convey just how disappointed we were in this order which is such a shame when you order a take out.

Was recommended by a freind to try Mr Rice, and I highly recommend... I have to say In my top 2 Chinese takaways in the BH9 area...... Salt & pepper wings: The flavor and batter was so delicious, the relish was seasoned to perfection. Singapore chow mein: Amazing flavour, fresh meat and nice firm noodles. and Chicken oyster sauce was told really tasty lots of flavour. Delivery was on-time. Would recommend 9/10

Our favourite takeaway in Bournemouth! The Penang Curry is incredible, as is the Szechuan King Prawn. Delicious food with great service. Highly recommended!

Ordered here via Uber Eats for the first time and it did not disappoint! Piping hot, rich and full of flavour. The best chicken satay I’ve ever had! Meal for 1 offers fantastic value for money albeit the delivery driver wasn’t happy he had to drive 4 miles as apparently the cut off is 3.8.

First time trying this as a takeaway, absolutely amazing. All food came very hot and well cooked. Tasted beautiful! Its now going to be my regular local Chinese takeaway! Also gave us extra spring rolls! Great bonus!

Only Chinese I will ever use! Mixed starter for 2 and smoked shredded chicken to start then kung po chicken prawn pad Thai and chicken fried rice I can’t even explain how flavoursome it all is.. the chicken friend rice is fried properly with soy sauce non of that white rice some places do honestly make this place your go to Chinese perfect

Me and my partner have been a few times since we first moved to the area 2 years ago and every time we've been we have absolutely loved the food! We were served this evening by a young lady who was so nice and friendly to us, and our food came very quickly and was amazing as always!

Always had problems with other chinese takeaways in bmouth since moving to uni here, but this one is the one i always use now. They deliver earlier than expected, lovely delivery people, the food is amazing, big portions and hits the spot. 100% recommend.

This was an above average take away. The chicken curry was very good, I had hot and sour soup, capital ribs (bit dry) and sweet chilli wings. Yum, next time I will have a chow mein.

This place is underrated. First time I ordered from here I was so pleased that I never order from any order Chinese place. Food is rich in flavour and so juicy. I just wish the open in earlier times :( they open too late and that's the only thing I don't like. Sometimes I would like to get food from them at 2pm-3pm.

First time ordering tonight, not sure if I would use again. The chow mein was very greasy and not much flavour to it. The chicken balls were crispy but inside very doughy which is unpleasant but good sweet and sour sauce.

Ordered prawn Pad Thai and Singapore chow mein, both were very dry and seemed unpleasant to eat, like food was recooked several times. I wouldn't recommend it, definitely not returning.

I ordered several dishes that included shredded duck. Unfortunately there were so many duck bones left in the dishes that we couldnt eat them. I reported this to the restaurant but have not yet had any response.

The best Chinese takeaway in Bournemouth, especially for vegan and veggie options. The vegetarian duck in curry sauce and the vegetarian chicken in satay sauce are insane. Pair it with the coconut rice, chips and spring rolls and you've got yourself an absolute feast (all vegan) 😀

Last reviewed in Jan 19 when I said it was really good - well - this meal topped that - it really was simply the best. The Singapore noodles some of the best I have ever tasted and thew chicken with ginger and spring onion - outstanding. Prawn with water chestnut and bamboo shoot fresh hot and succulent. Sweet and sour chicken spot on except for the balls being too large. Otherwise we could not fault it and after eating Chinese food for the last 65 years, so plenty to compare with, it is as I said "Simply the best"

Bbq sauce was sweet and sour with a bit weired taste added the pancake roll was cold not great

The food was ok and would have ordered again were it not for this article from the Bournemouth Echo on 20.12.2019: "Inspector found 'mouse infestation' at Winton's Mr Rice takeaway". Maybe the business should be renamed Mr. Mice?

I've ordered from here a few times and thought it about time to show my love for this place. First off, free delivery or a short walk to pick it up, if I walk always greeted with friendly faces! Secondly, a great selection of food to choose from and massive portions that will last at least 2 days. Finally, if your Winton based I personally think this is the best Chinese restaurant to order from!

I’ve seen some bad reviews of this place but I strongly disagree with them! The delivery is free, the service is lovely and my food is always delivered very quickly. And the food, the food is good. Big portions that can last at least 2 days! Would defo recommend to Winton locals!

Very impressed with our meal. Delivery was within the stated time, food was tasty and piping hot and we received free mini spring rolls, prawn crackers and fortune cookies with our £29 order. Only minor point was the honey spare ribs were slightly overcooked but still nice with some extra hoisin sauce. Will definately be ordering again.

Awful and very very rude driver he was sat on the wrong road and refused to drive down the road which was opposite from him and demanded me to come out side! In the end we ask them To ring him and come back to the shop and we had to go to Mr rice our selfs and collect it but when we arrived the lad on the front desk was absolutely disgusting to us and we ask for a refund and went someone else! Terrible customer services and will definitely never be ordering from you again!

Great food and service modest pricing

I love a Mr Rice takeaway. When I ask for extra spicy noodles, they are super delicious with a great heat (vegetable vermicelli). I also had the tofu in ginger and spring onion - what a winner. Great flavours, friendly staff, and reasonably priced.

Best Chinese takeaway in town. Really delicious food, great packaging, and good service. Also note, their chips are fantastic. Why would a Chinese takeaway need to do such great chips? I don't know, they just do.

This is one restaurant I keep coming back to. I think it's the mixed dumplings, I love their char Sui buns! Have ordered many times now. We eat everything and don't mind if they're a little late, it's because they're always busy.

It was probably the worst food I have ever eaten, almost inedible. It is inconceivable how a restaurant with hopefully trained cooks can produce anything so bad. Bland or uninteresting would have been OK compared to the food we got which tasted nasty
