that had to be the worst munchie box ever, no rice, no sweet and sour sauce, 3/4 filled with chips to bulk it up , value fir money , very poor , wake up and do your homework and see what all the other Chinese takeaways are offering cos we definitely wont be back

Food is awful I had food poisoning after eating very little of the meal.

My order delivered by just eat from Mr Rice. Quick delivery good communication. The food was absolutely AMAZING 👏 HUGE portions . I would definitely order again. Thank you so much for such lovely HOT FOOD! WELL DONE 👏 👏👏👏

Ordered food from here through just eat items were missing, said to the driver all i got back was phone the restaurant not my problem complete tube of a man.. so phoned the restaurant amd the woman on the phone was so rude its unreal saying i put the items into a different order but you should have phoned us to order not use just eat so its not my fault even though she admitted she put stuff into someone elses bag.. the proceeded to say the only way i can get what i was missing is if she takes a note of it and semds them out next time i order like thats gonna happen amd said its not possible for them to deliver what i have paid for.. absolute joke of a place avoid like the plague

Beef curry tasted like roast beef .sauce was like gravy. And never had sliced carrots in one before.tasted off shredded chilli chicken was more like sweet and sour. Might have been a new chief with new menu.but won't be ordering again

Ordered Satay Special, thought it was mixed meat with a few veg in a Peanut sauce. It was mixed meats with veg but in a watery gravy with next to no taste. What is Satay sauce? I went into shop to complain and was told by Chef it was NOT Satay 5 times. He then changed his mind (after harrasment from other staff). Then I was given (body language/do you want a fight) harrasment by female member of kitchen staff. Wow. NOT what you expect. I only wanted a peanuty sauce on my meal. I want be returning. I value my carma too much.

My order never showed up. Phoned the restaurant and was told that the driver came to the house and was ringing the doorbell (we don't have a doorbell) and that he left it on the doorstep but when I checked it wasn't there. The woman on the phone wasn't helpful and she began fobbing me off. Won't be ordering from them again.

Rubbish, the food was cold the salad was hot, the duck was rock solid, the taste was meh and the lady was asking for £8 delivery on arrival to which I said no, and even the dog didn't want it. Also delivery driver ran from the door because of having a family dog sitting behind me.

We called at 5pm ! After 2 phonecalls we got our food cold with condensation in the food I think they forgot it was that long and cold not good!!!😮‍💨

Just had a meal from there. Hands down worse Chinese I've ever eaten .stodgy over cooked rice. Curry was so thick you could slice it and tasted horrible. The chips were hard and cold . And worse was the lemon chicken sauce was just like they squeezed a lemon on top was that strong and thin . Not pleasant to eat . All the food went in the bin barely touched

When I order a Chinese takeaway,(usually a treat now and again) I always use Mr Rice. Food would be piping hot, huge portions and very tasty. Ive never had any complaints about their food. Last night, i got pancakes for starters and beef chow mein. Really wish I hadn't. The pancakes were soggy and so greasy. The chow mein had no taste and it wasn't until I had a few forkfuls that I saw it was lying in a puddle of greasy oil on my plate.🤢 I definitely won't be ordering from there again

in my 40 yrs of having chinese take away this is by far the worst i ve ever had but after finishing a 60 hr week would treat my wife unfortunately the evergreen chinese take away was closed so decided on mr rice worst decision i ve made in a long while mr rice isnt a patch on the evergreen in grant street

Used to be really great. What a shame the owners cant be bothered to cook decent food that people pay for. Never again

80 minute delivery on a Tuesday night was bad enough but when it did arrive 3/4 of the Spicy Box was cold and the rest had onviously been re-heated. Was told by the girl the food was made fresh and delivered straight away. This was OBVIOUSLY not the case and even the portion of curry sauce had conjealed so much you could stand a spoon in it. Had to wait another 90 minutes for the delivery guy to pick it back up as management wanted to check it??? Whole experience took over 3 hours and ended up with no food and a bad taste in my mouth. We definitely will not be using again!!

After using this place for 30 years I have just received shocking customer service as well as the quality of food going way down hill . What a shame used to be really good . Shall be looking for a new take away Chinese .

Nice food but expensive for portion size

Ordered duck and plum sauce, a disgrace. It was a bottle of tomato ketchup with vinegar. We phoned to explain we would take it back as it was disgraceful which the receptionist agreed to. We took it down and the receptionist agreed it was disgusting. An Asian woman came from the kitchen and started shouting at us saying no refund. Turned her back on us, stood shouting in her native language. They then offered a partial refund as one piece of duck had been eaten. Avoid at all costs!!!!

I know it has recently been taken over by new owners , but the quality of the food and service we receive each time is fantastic. The staff who take the orders are always pleasant and helpful .The food is always tasty and good ingredients along with efficient delivery what more can you ask for ?? I’ve used this for the past 30years and will continue to use them .

Normally buy from Mr rice all the time always nice. Tonight noodle off, king prawn balls double cooked and chips double cooked. Spare ribs burnt and sweet and sour sauce jus watery and vinegar. Phoned and they wanted me to return which would mean a forty round trip. Said they couldn't give refund till they seen the food. When I said we ate some he then said well that's different. I said I am only phoning to let them know and I was not going to drive forty miles. He was not willing to hear about the food and the standards. Sadly will not go back.

Ordered mild chicken curry no vedge or onions for my children while isolation with covid . The girl took my order and it arrived with jalapeño and onions. I called to complain and got told I got what I ordered then the phone slammed on me !!!! Well stuff you Mr rice we won’t be back .

Not going back, sauces were really bad, weird curry sauce! Food was just plain bad - special fried rice, couldn't eat it to be honest. Salt chilli chicken, chips and curry sauce was worst I've tasted really cheap and thick, sticky food. Nah, I'll go somewhere else next time.

Delicious, we are here for a break away and fancied a Chinese for tea. Was delivered quickly and everyone happy with the meal. Chicken and cashew nut was best I’ve had in a long time and my son loved the aromatic crispy duck. Defonrecomend.

Had the sweet & sour chicken. The sauce looked as unusual (deep red!) as it tasted. The rest was okay. Will try some of the other better rated takeaways..

I'm reluctantly giving them a one star because my husband's meal was passable after being in the microwave. I received a text to say the food was arriving shortly - it arrived 40 minutes later - cold. So we had to put everything into the oven/microwave before we could sit down to eat. My 'aromatic crispy Peking duck' was disgusting - more fat than duck and shredded into tiny little bits. Photo attached. I paid £16.40 for it too which is outrageous. I couldn't eat it and gave it to my dogs for their breakfast the next day. Will never order from them again.

Only just up from sick bed with bad food posining after have chicken noodle soup Sunday past. The soup had a very sweet taste to it which I found strange so didn’t eat more than a third. Since then I have been really very ill which given I am a diabetic is not good. I would not recommend anyone to use this take out in future unless they want to be in same position. If I could have scored them a negative I would have . Spoiled my week and absolutely ruined my Christmas.

Had a takeaway from here tonight, I’ve not used mr rice in years and on the off chance thought I’d give it a try. Food was absolutely disgusting I’d give zero stars if I could. Rice was burnt, chips were soggy, chicken balls weren’t edible. Dog got it, I’ll never be back.

Would give them zero stars if I could. Ordered Special Satay yesterday 25th October along with chips. Was over £11 including delivery and there was no fried rice with it. Total rip off. Will be taking my custom elsewhere from now on. Seems like businesses are putting up their prices during the pandemic and the service is getting worse!

Delicious Chinese food and great customer service. Ordered spicy ribs and chefs special rice was delicioys. Rice portion was massive. Lady who took order helped us to arrange delivery to or hotel. Highly recommend this take away.

Has been so long since I've had a Chinese takeaway as the quality locally was so poor until tonight that is. Food piping hot and delicious. Great portions, very well presented and absolutely full of flavour. Please keep these high standards up, probably the best Chinese takeaway I've ever had.

Went in and ordered chrispy shreded chilli chicken in Peking sauce to be giving chicken in ginger sauce.. called them up as we didnt notice until we got home to be told there closing theres nothing they can do about it now.

Disappointing. Has changed into new hands fairly recently and it's for the bad. Gutted really, level of chicken breast in chow mein smaller and less in volume. Chilli shredded beef has very little actual sauce and the like eating crunchy bullets. Tried twice putting first down to a bad one off, but now let down again.

Totally avoid so rice food stone cold noodles weren't even cooked rice mushy chicken was freezing if u want poisoned this is the place to go refused to send £21 order out again. Great customer service brilliant way to run a successful business into the ground.

I ordered meals from Mr Rice this evening. One of the meals arrived and when my guest started eating it, it smelt of cigarettes! When I smelt it, I couldn’t believe the smell, it actually smelt like an ashtray! Disgusting! Now none of us can eat our meals as we feel sick. I phoned to tell them and was offered another meal or a credit of our next order, I will never order anything from Mr Rice again.

They do a good chicken omlette.

We ordered off of just eat, the food was expected at 5:40 but came just after 5 with no warning this would happen. What we had ordered tasted horrible and when we phone to ask for help they were unwilling to acknowledge the problem, was very rude and argumentative, and instead made us pay to send different food out instead of just sending new food out

I'm just around the corner so use when I'm having a takeaway I always phone for a order it is busy at wkends! Staff are always nice makes it pleasant to phone. Food is good have never had a bad meal yet.

Having ordered from here for years I was so disappointed with the poor food that arrived tonight. Spare ribs sauce watered down. Chicken fried rice tasted of nothing. Crispy chilli chicken soggy and not lovely. Chips well we got a frozen one in amongst the cooked ones and they were flavorless too.. A few weeks ago we tried the chip shop side and it was beyond poor. Frozen fish, soggy sausage and just not great. Not going back such a disappointment

Highly disappointed, did order every week pretty much but won't be ordering from there again after there customer service, made an order of salt and chilli King prawn, end up with pepperd chicken with added King prawn (2 and a bit prawns for £1,70) smallest bit chill in human history and still the women argued with me on the fone so..... Take my business elsewhere In future also its called New Mr Rice now so don't know if it has new owners or not but if it does they should change the name because that's not Mr Rice's service.

I went her tonight and ordered 3 chicken chow mein then I forgot to order fortune cookies lol but they were sold out but I was happy. The chow mein was great loads of chicken in it and onions . My aunty was up for the holidays and really enjoyed it. Many thanks to all the staff .

I ordered from this place just last night and was happy to receive good food,hot and on time,I will order again.

The baked potato was look warm and I would have preferred butter to margarine which remained in large lumps under the tuna....not great..

Esta crítica si para el lado de pescado y patatas fritas.En primer lugar, muchos artículos en el menú no estaban disponibles, luego estaban las patatas fritas no peladas, muchos ojos y pieles sucias en las fichas. Tuvimos un budín blanco que estaba bien, pero muy grasoso. También mis nuggets de pollo que eran insípido. También los aros de cebolla fueron quemados. Entonces, en mi humilde opinión, gasta tu dinero en otro lado.

Had previously given this place a harsh review but after finding out it was under new owners gave it another go. I have since deleted my previous review as Mr Rice is now absolutely delicious. Having had 2 takeaways, they were delicious & very tasty.... long may it last!!

Best Chinese takeaway in Inverness by far

Comprado pollo desmenuzado con tostadas de chiles y gambas. Tuve que dejarlo debido a un sabor químico de la salsa. Las tostadas de gambas estaban húmedas y se colocaron sobre una cama de lechuga marrón rallada. No te diré lo que pensaban mis entrañas? ? ?

Pretty good. Alter dishes to suit liking. Good delivery speed but can be expensive. Occasionally get order wrong but send replacement eventually! Order at least once a week

Considering inverness has no really good chinese takeaways i would say this one is a close second (millburn is better) the price is about average and the food is generally ok although s&s; chicken balls tend to be a bit raw on the batter.

We just had the worst Chinese meal experience ever. Tasteless over cooked noodle chowmein, crunchy dried up chips, oily fried rice and sickly sweet chicken. 90% went in the bin- even the dog avoided it and he eats anything!!

It took 35 mins to get an ansa, person was rude then had to wait an hour for it to be delivered and I think it was belly churning, never again.

Mi amigo y yo nos sentíamos bastante resacos después de una noche difícil. Pusimos nuestra confianza en Mr Rice y pedimos 2 pollo con arroz frito, algunos rollitos de primavera y por supuesto un poco de jugo para la resaca. Destacamos la importancia del jugo para la mujer por teléfono. Sin embargo, una hora más tarde aún no había llegado la entrega. Casi habíamos perdido la esperanza cuando sonó el timbre de la puerta. Y voila allí estaba nuestra comida. Sin embargo, bajo una inspección adicional, ¡faltaban las dos latas de jugo!

Trabajando en Inverness decidió detenerse en Mr Rice. Fuimos a los 22. Durante mucho tiempo, mientras la mujer detrás del mostrador terminó de hablar con un chico, no hizo ningún esfuerzo por animarme, eventualmente se volvió hacia mí, ni siquiera recibí mi orden, solo me dijo "ya no tomamos más pedidos esta noche". Expliqué que mi orden no era muy grande, pero ella simplemente se encogió de hombros y dijo "no más pedidos" y continuó con su conversión, la absoluta desgracia nunca llegó a probar la comida y nunca lo hará.

Señor arroz y patatas fritas como Señor permanecer juntos y Caribdis Escila esperando para destruir la persona trabaja duro; llama. Yo vivo bastante localmente, por lo que probar cada pocos años en la esperanza de que todavía vano mejora. Sosa, comida mal cocinada es perfectamente complementado con servicio hosco. No es incluso barato.

Always busy and service from staff is good

La señora de las Islas Occidentales es incompetente, grosero y un activo muy malo para un restaurante que ofrece comida muy buena. El conductor entrega también era extremadamente cortés. La señora al teléfono lea el orden correcto para mí y luego negó todo conocimiento de la orden cuando llamé para decir que un elemento que faltaba. De acuerdo, no había sido cobrado en ese punto, pero su actitud fue atroz. Ella me colgó. La comida era de muy buena calidad pero seriamente decepcionado por este individuo. Se asegurará que no recomiendo y no volveré. Nunca he escrito una mala crítica.

Me quedé completamente estupefacto por el precio de este promedio chino llevar. Nos han pasado este lugar y había veces tropecientos notamos debido a la atractiva afuera, pero nunca había probado hasta la última noche.

Muy decepcionado. Comida es de mala calidad y servicio grosero que es extremadamente caro. Parece que todas las comida para llevar china son caros en Inverness, pero para el servicio y la mala calidad de este lugar es pésima. Yo le digo fueron rápidos, que es lo único positivo.

Two price up in town need 2 go down

Placed order little dissapointed with estimate delivery time of 45 minutes to an hour. Very surprised to find my order came to £42 only feeding 4. Nothing out of the ordinary ordered. Only extra was portion spring rolls. Arrived on the hour food was piping hot but was not worth the extortionate price. Will not be using again for that reason alone. You can get food equally as good for less money.

Always go here the night before the Lochness marathon for a carb load. The chicken fried rice is amazing , not greasy at all with substantial pieces of meat that actually does look like chicken. Gravy and chips are also great , will return 2 a year for many years to come. Also very quickly made a always busy !

Always use Mr. Rice several times a year, especially when the boys call in unexpectedly. Food ready on time and always piping hot. Very generous in their portions and usually some prawn crackers, free, left for breakfast. Recommend the Singapore Fried Rice or any of the duck dishes.
