Food was amazing, staff were so helpful and kind, service was very Quick. The restaurant could do with a bit of a fresh up it's tiered looking a bit dull inside . But if they spend a bit money on it . It could look amazing from the outside. And become the best place in Fort William.

For us a nice restaurant. Only the service was a bit slow.

Rating Chinese Palace overall 3 stars. I would return but stay away from there peking dishes as is very very watery and tasteless. However my wife had shredded salt and pepper chicken with a side of curry sauce and the curry was good, nothing salt and pepper about the chicken but was also still good. Decent portion sizes. Rather pricey but I guess that come with the area. Thanks anyways 😊

Food was fine it’s what you expect and want from a Chinese. Service was fast but the owner actually argued with me. She brought the wrong dish to my friend and then said I didn’t order the chicken chow mein. I told her kindly I did and she kept arguing with me. Shocked that an owner would do that. Even when we went to paid she had such an attitude. Would not go again because of her. The girls working there were fantastic! Just the owner ruined it for us.

"What happened?" We went there for a good meal as my wife is Chinese. However, everything was unexpected 'tasty'. The roast duck fried rice was too dry. Stir-fried beef with oyster sauce was disgusting with the chinese mushrooms Caogu. Your cook didn't boil it in water before fried, and that is unacceptable. Also, the starters, roast king prawn toast should with shrimp paste in the middle and king prawn on top, sesame around is fine even though the original one should be with breadcrumbs. In general, your chef doesn't know how to cook ... u as the owner don't have a good taste of Chinese food.

Got a takeaway from here, whilst staying over in Fort William. Ordered and collected personally, didn't have to wait to long to be served and food was great. Recommended

I was searching for a place for me and my partner to eat before we arrived for our anniversary and was honestly a bit put off by the reviews. Well today, we decided to chance it and I couldn’t sing their praises enough! The restaurant has nice decor, the staff are very friendly and the food is absolutely delicious, I think the best Chinese I’ve ever had. I can tell my partner enjoyed it as he barely spoke to me, only to tell me how good it was! We’re considering coming back here again before we leave, we enjoyed it that much!

Honestly one of the best chinese I've ever had. I had this devine house special dish, duck with honey chillie sauce, which I could not get enough of! My house special rice was delicious with a lot of meat which was cooked to perfection. If you're in the mood to eat like a king, then this is the palace for you. Thank you for such a great dining experience.

I ordered Mapo Tofu, Xiangxi stir-fried pork and spicy chicken. They were all delicious, especially the Xiangxi stir-fried pork, which was very hotpot.

The food was really tasty and not at all greasy. Better than the average Chinese restaurant. Can recommend the Hong Kong style chicken and the crispy duck with sauce.

Do yourself a favour and avoid this place. Every table around us had orders wrong. Food came out occasionally and when it did it was cold. The restaurant ran out of rice, which is definitely a first for me. No heating on in the restaurant (had to eat wearing jackets) and can only pay in cash……… lots of red flags. Not a good experience all round.

I usually order from this place and the food is quite tasty but I have phoned maybe over 10 times and no answer the website says they are open until 10:30pm and I did not receive an answer

Carry out service only which was disappointing as it appears to be only Chinese in town centre. The portions were smaller as they used rice size cartons for main course so we feel short changed. The chicken chow mein was mediocre and I could have produced better myself. I have had a sit in meal here in past and was good so why have their standards slipped? Please note owners that I'll try and avoid next time however it makes you think they know the passing trade is good enough so why try too hard!!

Can't recommend as they didn't listen to our order correctly. The portion sizes were around 2/3 of regular size and the meal quality was lower standard to what you'd get elsewhere.

Clean restaurant with light music in the background. Food served fast and pretty good taste for Chinese cuisine. Salt and pepper spare ribs are good and very good value for price.

Shredded beef in honey chilli, egg fried rice and chicken balls with curry sauce all really nice. Wouldn’t get the sweet and sour again, slightly too sweet and prawn crackers weren’t worth £2. All in all a nice Chinese takeaway

Food does not come served like as in the photo. The noodles and chicken were greasy and inedible. We were only ones in on a Friday night in December, very overpriced . We will not be back

Avoid avoid avoid, phone for takeaway food arrived cold look like it been cooked days ago. Delivery was late over hour half . Think we had a lucky escape sending food back or probably would have had food poisoning 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢

I’m a bit disappointed that I didn’t follow my gut when I saw the bucket and cleaning products by the reception, I still booked a table and things wend downhill from there. The decor was confused and dated, there was no atmosphere and while it was all clean, it just wasn’t comfortable. We ordered and the food came really quickly which was a concern, shows that it wasn’t cooked to order. The food was ok, we ate about half of it, the plates were cleared ok, nobody asked us how the meal was of if we wanted anything else. I got the general feeling that they were aware that things were not great and happy for us to pay and leave. Not a great culinary experience.

Looks nice from outside. Not quite Chinese atmosphere. No settings on the tables. Staff don't seem to have any uniforms 😕 No table clothes only red plastic sort of cloth. Staff seem OK just they don't seem to wait on you like other restaurants I've been in. We had a banquet for 4 the food was just placed down infront of you and it was like saying there ya go help your self. Young girls seem a bit rushed off there feet. For £128.80 we have had better service.

Food was great, my only complaint was the confusion when placing order. They did not take my name, tried to give me someone else's order which was 3 times bigger than my order. People that came in after got there larger order before me, no system it seems. Other customers complained.

Sehr unmotiviertes und unfreundliches Personal. Essen lieblos zubereitet und serviert. Preis ist eher hoch für diese Qualität. Beilagenreis ist nicht mit dabei. Muss separat bezahlt werden. Treibt den vermeintlich günstigen Preis in die Höhe. Besser Restaurant nebenan besuchen, da Preise in etwa gleich sind.

Way overpriced. Got one portion of sweet and sour chicken balls, one egg fried rice and a portion of prawn crackers and it was £14.10. Can get two portions of the same at the other ones in caol for that price!

Came here for a simple late night snack: chicken and sweetcorn soup, chicken balls, and egg fried rice. The chicken balls were nice and crispy, although the sauce was overly sweet and quite sickly. The chicken and sweetcorn soup was standard - nice and relaxing to have late at night! The egg-fried rice was also as you would find at other places. Quick service - food ready in 10 minutes.

So, I visited with my 7 year old (who was really excited about going for a Chinese meal) and initially were acknowledged and seated promptly however we had to wait a while to order and had to ask to. When our order arrived (pretty quick) they brought us a chicken fried rice rather than the egg fried rice I'd ordered (we had ordered two main meals, surely a rice to share would make more sense than another main meal, no?) as soon as the plate was put down I asked "is this egg fried rice?" and was told I'd ordered chicken fried rice. I asked the server (not the same lady that took our order) to please check the order but it had been written down wrong. Rather than apologise and bring us what we ordered they were like that's what's written, that's what you're getting. The chicken noodle soup was spicy (very unusual) and my daughter didn't like it. The lemon chicken was served on a bed of raw onion (again, unusual). My Chinese tea was forgotten and I had to ask for it. No one came and asked if everything was OK with our meal, it was difficult to get the server's attention (to order, to chase up the tea, to get the bill). Once I asked for the bill the server said she'd bring it over, but as we're were keen to go (we had a 1.5 hour drive ahead of us and was 8:30pm) we went to the counter. I brought up the rice issue again but they weren't for amending the bill and we left. Food was OK, they might be fine for a take away (just check the order is correct) but the service was so disappointing we won't ever be back.

Small size of food, waitress poor

我们点了小炒肉和醋溜土豆丝，小炒肉味道非常正宗很好吃，醋溜土豆丝比较普通，或许他们可以添加一些葱丝炒香。番茄蛋花汤和茉莉花茶也是不错的。 我们第二天又来尝试了孜然牛肉，鱼香茄子，和宫保鸡丁。推荐孜然牛肉！！配菜的洋葱和青椒都非常入味！鱼香茄子也很好吃！ 老板娘也很有人情味，在每天的长途旅行结束后来到这里吃饭是一件非常开心的事情。以后有机会再来到苏格兰的话我还会回来这家餐厅😋

We received delivery from China Palace to our Inn when it was too wet & windy for our family to venture out. Delivery was timely, the food was hot and everyone enjoyed their meals. We ordered chicken noodles soup, pancake rolls, Kung Po and Fried rice. The Kung Po was flavorful and spicy, which we loved. The fried rice was not greasy and had lots of meat. Excellent meal after a long blustery day!

Called into this restaurant whilst on holiday, as I do like Chinese food. But food was the worse I’ve had. The beef in the curry was, well you couldn’t even chew it, as it was so rubbery. We had to leave it. It should have been soft, tender beef, this was not. The spring rolls were nothing short of vile. I don’t even know what was in them. The contents didn’t even resemble any spring rolls I had before and tasted vile. Being charged £50 for two main meals, which were not pleasant, and a potion of spring rolls with two soft drinks was unbelievable. Definitely not worth a penny of it. The servers were very pleasant though.

Totally inediable chicken was rock solid doubt it was even chicken 🤢 customer service was horrendous driver begging for a tip which I normally do AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Highly recommend. I’ve eaten at many Chinese restaurants in the UK and this one is among the top. The atmosphere and the service are standard but the important things are that all the dishes are good. The prawn fried rice are very good. During our two days in Fort William, we went to the restaurant three times :) so if you have a chance, you should try.

We were happy to find China Palace because we were getting tired of the homogenous menus of most other restaurants in town and because we were in desperate need of some vegetables. It's definitely a good alternative to burgers, pizzas and chips! Service was efficient, staff was very nice and polite and the food was good. It's not an authentic Chinese or fine dining experience, but it's definitely better than 1 or 2 stars. The rice and the soups were good and we were served a big tea can of nice loose leaf Chinese tea (we are used to much smaller cans). The Peking sauce was almost a sweet 'n' sour sauce which wasn't what we've expected but nontheless enjoyable. We've ordered it with duck and the meat was delicious. Also: The fresh and big chunks of vegetables were a big plus! It's difficult to find a restaurant here in FW that serves other veggies than simple green salads. Would visit again.

Deepfried shredded beef wasn't edible, hard as a rock and couldn't be eaten. Szechuan Beef was great. Chicken Satay sticks were dry. Beef ribs were great, had a couple options of those and can definitely recommend.

Super Chinese. Das Essen war sehr lecker und man wird schnell bedient. Tipp: Für den Tee bezahlt man die Anzahl Tassen, wir mussten z.B für eine Kanne Tee 15£ bezahlen, da wir zu fünft Tee getrunken haben.

Had a great meal here. Food was lovely, mid week and about half full, would recommend. Just visiting the area for a few days. Can see some older negative reviews but certainly not our experience in July'23

Presentation of the food was underwhelming and very bland

Staff here are so charming, they gave me an excellent view site to enjoy the sea, it was a wonderful meal for me,highly recommend to visit.

Mediocre Chinese food. Wonton soup was too salty. The wontons had a porky smell. Certainly needs improvement. Egg fried rice was hard and had hardly any egg.

I was very nervous having read some reviews but either they are harsh or there is a new chef. My chicken chow Mein was good and the king prawns in oyster was also fine. Certainly no longer deserves the 1 star reviews.

Wir wollten trotz der schlechten Bewertung dem Restaurant eine Chance geben. Die Getränke waren gut. Zur Vorspeise hatten wir 10 Minifrühlingsrollen und 2 Meat Rollen bestellt, da konnte man sich nicht beschweren. Aber dann kam der Hauptgang. Jemand hatte Nudeln mit Gemüse bestellt, welche gerade mal ok waren (sehr fettig, kaum Gemüse). Zwei andere haben Sweet and Sour Balls mit Reis bestellt. Der Reis war eigentlich gut. Die Sweet and Sour Sauce war nicht über dem Fleisch wie es normalerweise ist, sondern in einer Kleinen Kanne. Was gar nicht so schlecht war, da die Sauce extrem süss war, wie eine Art Sirup. Sie war ungeniessbar und mit Sicherheit eine Fertigsauce. Ich kann das Fleisch nicht genau beschreiben wie es war, aber sicher nicht gut. Dann wollten wir zum Fleisch ein wenig Ketchup. Aber der Ketchup war abgelaufen. Und dann hat die Bedienung noch behauptet, dass sie es erst gerade bestellt hätte. Also es sei sicher nicht seit dem Sommer 2022 abgelaufen, obwohl es auf jedem Ketchup Beutel stand. Eine Portion Fleisch mit Curry hatten wir auch. Das Curry hatte überhaupt nicht gut ausgesehen, und es war auch nicht so gut. Es war auch eine Fertigsauce. Am Ende Hätten wir 80.86 Pounds bezahlen müssen, sie hat uns aber 86 Pence geschenkt. Herzlichen Dank:-) Wir können das Restaurant nicht empfehlen, wir gehen oft Chinesisch essen, auf der ganzen Welt. Dieses Restaurant war das schlechteste was wir je erlebt haben!!!! Auch das Personal war sehr unfreundlich, zu Beginn war eine junge Dame, welche uns den Eindruck gab, nicht willkommen zu sein. Danach hatten wir eine andere Bedienung, die sie Mühe gab, aber auch nicht sehr freundlich war. Als wir für das Essen Essstäbchen verlangt hatten, hat sie uns angeschrien, wieviel möchten sie? Wir konnte leider nicht 0 Sterne geben, den einer ist, einer zuviel!!!!

We have lived in Fort William for a while and this was sadly our first visit to the restaurant. I say sadly because now we regret not going many times before. Wonderful place. Seated instantly with a great view of the Loch. Service was excellent. Drinks swiftly delivered and the food was ready in minutes piping hot and tasty as anything. 100% will be going back. Great place

Wir waren heute dort essen. Leider sind die Gerichte ohne Beilagen (Reis, Nudeln, etc.) und müssen extra bestellt werden. Die Karte finde ich dafür tatsächlich überteuert. Gerichte zwischen 12 Pfund und höher. Geschmacklich war es das schlechteste Essen, was ich je in einem chinesischen Restaurant essen durfte. Das Hühnchen war muffig, der Reis vertrocknet und die Bratnudeln schmeckten nach altem verbranntem Fett. Schade, wir hätten Burger essen sollen..

Food tastes ok but the service was disappointing. £3-4 difference between the takeaway and dine-in prices. On top of that, they charge a 10% service charge which didn’t feel justified.

Service was too quick - we ordered a starter and within minutes our main meal came at the same time. Food was average and was quite expensive for what we got. Portions could’ve been bigger for the money we paid. Only good thing we’re the free mints!

So as another person has also pointed out sadly there not an option for zero as a rating. Myself and my fiancé ordered a chicken satay as a starter which was supposed to be in a peanut sauce. Whatever sauce they used it certainly didn’t have peanuts and tasted more like vomit smells. I had a chicken curry and aye that was stodgy as porridge and guess they had ran out of onions. My fiancé had chicken balls and they were just processed chicken nuggets shoved in a deep fat fryer for 2 mins. We love a Chinese as a treat now and again and when you’re paying 30 bucks for one you at least it expect it to be edible. Sadly ours was not. Do yourself a favour and just get a ready meal from the shop. Rubbish

Had a meal delivered from here last night chicken balls sweet and sour sauce, noodles chips and it was so good I enjoy it alot especially the chicken balls. Will definitely be ordering again food was roasting hot also on delivery. Thank you.

Delivery driver was very rude. Called us “disgusting” as we never gave a tip even though tip isn’t mandatory, would not tip anyway as he was rude from the start. Food was your average Chinese takeout (it was mid).

This place is not great but not terrible either. The food and service were OK and the prices were low. I would not make a point to eat here but it was right across the street from our hotel and I was tired.

I had the Green Thai Curry takeaway , and considering it isn't a Thai restaurant, I wasn't too hopeful, but I was pleasantly surprised and really delighted with itr. Loads of lime leaves and tons of flavour. The meat was good and there was plenty...

Zusammengefasst, falls nicht jeder den Text lesen will: Schlechtes Essen, unfreundliche Bedingung zu Europäern und sehr lange Wartezeiten. Leider muss man 1 Stern geben, dieser ist aber noch viel zu gut für dieses Lokal. Begonnen hat es damit, dass es total lange gebraucht hat, bis eine unfreundliche Bedienung gekommen ist. Des Weiteren hat es dann total lange gebraucht, bis die Vorspeise, Frühlingsrollen, gebracht worden sind. Diese waren vom Geschmack ganz ok. Die absolute Frechheit war aber der Hauptgang. Auf diesen mussten wir ca. 75 Minuten warten und er war eine Katastrophe. Die gebratene Ente mit Knoblauchsoße bestand hauptsächlich aus Karotten und Zwiebeln. Gebraten war die Ente nicht, sondern in der Knoblauchsoße ersoffen. Zudem hat diese aufgewärmt geschmeckt, als käme sie frisch aus der Mikrowelle. Große Teile der Ente waren einfach nur Hautfetzen mit Fettrand dran. Eher ein Essen für Schweine oder Hunde als für Menschen. Dies ist auch kein Einzelfall gewesen. Meine Eltern und deren Freunde, die auch Ente hatten, hatten den selben Fraß auf dem Teller. Eine Person hatte keine Ente sondern Reis. Diesen habe ich probiert und er war ranzig und trocken. Ich bin zutiefst unzufrieden und fühle mich verarscht von dem Laden. Hinzu kommt, dass die Bedingung chinesische Mitbürger, welche auch dort gegessen haben, viel schneller und freundlicher bedient hat. Man fühlte sich und wurde als Europäer eher wie ein ungebetener Gast behandelt als wie ein Kunde.
