Excellent busy take away but very quickly served

Food was good. Service efficient and delivery on time.

This was recommended to us for a good Chinese takeaway. We had a mixture of items a bit different to what we normally get. We were very impressed, reasonable service time, very good quality and flavour of food.

Up here on holiday and fancied a chinese takewaway the food was cooked to order and the quality was really good as was the portion sizes. The curry could have been a bit more spicy but thats just a personal preference. The portion size was just the same as most chinese takeaway. The staff were friendly both on yhe telephone and in the shop when i went to collect. Would reccomend

Had a wonderful chinese takeaway here when i was staying in fort william. The staff were lovely and helpful and the food was just lovely. The chicken balls were so crispy which i love, very reasonably priced also. I would definitely return here if I’m staying in the area again.

We needed food after staying out too late, and this place showed up. We walked in and the service was okay and there was a local woman there. We asked her what we should eat and we got the Kung po chicken, special lo mein, and spring rolls. We didn’t like any of it… meat was chewy and just bad flavor overall. I studied Chinese and Asia in college so I know good Chinese food- this wasn’t it. The staff was nice, but I wouldn’t recommend the food.

I ordered some chicken fried rice, curry sauce, chicken balls, chips and some plain noodles. The chicken balls, chips and curry sauce were food but the chicken was burnt and appeared to be of very cheap quality. The rice was mediocre but I spotted the chef coughing into the pan he was cooking in. Wasn’t very hygienic, it was very dirty along the side of the couch and the walls of the kitchen were yellow. My main issue was with the staff. They seemed very tired and unhappy and my daughter heard from her friend the staff get no breaks on 5 hour shifts. They were unfriendly and very young, all looked 12-14. I also came in on a Thursday at half eight which is odd as I’m sure kids aren’t supposed to work past 7:30 on a school night? Overall, food was mediocre ar best and staff seem to be badly treated

I have heard vile things about the stores hygiene, and my food was evidence to that. My chicken was cold and the inside was awfully pink, the store also had a rotten smell when I entered. After finishing my meal I was left with a sore stomach for days. The staff were also too young, they lacked the communication to provide a pleasant experience when ordering, they also looked tired which I’m not surprised as I have heard they don’t get breaks.

Just got a kebab delivered 20 mins agho and it was literally like rubber and unchewable, usually fine but that was shockingly bad. You literally could not chew it, wasnt hard just rubbery. Thankfully they took the order wrong too and sent an extra meal

During my time working here, I was verbally harassed by the chef, given NO break on a 5 hour shift and Extremely underpaid to the tune of £4.50 per hour.

Don’t order there! Late, wrong order and lamb that could take Mike Tyson to 15 rounds it was so tough.

Curry sauce in chicken curry smelled and tasted so bad I had to bin it. Staff very young and not friendly.

Horrible burned chicken fried rice, place is dirty and you can see a cook coughing and sneezing while cooking, I've had another Chinese meal in town while I was in FW and it was amazing.

Burnt rice for fried rice. When I call back to complain they put down the phone and then cut the call when tried again. Extremely horrible service. As a strong supporter of local businesses and shops this is a disgrace for Fort William area. Burnt rice pics attached

0 star poor quality stale food very slow and would not advise this food outlet at all. Deffo won’t be using again

While we were staying in a lodge @ Spean Bridge we decided to get a Chinese takeaway. We really enjoyed what we got. Portions were adequate and food was warm

Thoroughly enjoyed our takeaway we had during lockdown. Food was it’s usual high standard, prices were fair and dishes were piping hot.

Another very enjoyable carry out meal tonight from here. Staff are efficient and friendly. All wearing masks and social distancing exercised for customers. A favourite place for our Saturday night takeaways.

I phoned for a delivery as my usual Chinese take away wasn't open, now I always use to come to this one when I lived nearby and always had a lovely meal from it but I moved nearer to town so went to another close by one, Now I just had Singapore Chow Mein , and all I can say is it resembled a plate of mushed up thick Stodge which was dark brown in colour, Now Singapore Chow Mein is meant to be Spicy hot , I think they forgot to add the chillies and spices ,it was more sweet in taste , so let's just say my Dust Bin had a good Feed , I will just Starve

This was our first time trying the food from this establishment won’t be doing it again the rice had no flavour the spices in the king prawn curry tasted raw Kung po chicken was not nice and the won ton soup I’ve had better.

Very nice Chinese food. I had a lovely sweet and sour chicken. Can’t recommend it highly enough and very reasonably priced

This is by far the best in town! We order regular from here and it never disappoints. Will be back as usual.

Got supper from here, a mix of Chinese food and a Fish and Chips. The Chicken in the curry was very chewy. Fish and Chips were good as was the Cantonese Sweet and Sour Chicken. Staff were friendly. If we were back in the area we would probably give somewhere else a try.

The sauces had a strange viscosity about them... they slid right out the plastic containers in a gelatinous lump. The chips were cold. The salt and pepper chicken pieces were so overcooked and chewy and it was overall just... greasy. Won't be a return customer.

Best chinese takeaway we've ever been to and consistently good!

We had a takeaway last year it was okay. This year it was exceptional the quarter crispy duck with pancakes and hoisin sauce tender and delicious. Kung Po chicken spicy and outstanding. Definitely recommend

Never ever had a bad meal from this takeaway....everything is cooked to order so fresh is the key..they do a home delivery service which is usually very quick...always use them..

We have not tried a great variety from the menu, but what we have tried is excellent. The latest thing we tried was the Szechuan Hot and Sour Soup, the balance between the hot and sour was perfect, highly recommend it for your Take Away Meal, this is not a sit in restaurant.

Always been happy with our meal from here on the odd occasion it can be a bit salty but not very oft

the food was cold the tall boy didn't wash his hands and it was awful the boy who served me was Logan Mackenzie he didn't have any manners or anything really rude and disrespectful i will never go there again

Visité esta comida china en una oscura y lluviosa noche de lunes. Difícil de encontrar en el medio de una urbanización fuera de la ciudad de Fort William, pero vale la pena buscarlo. El personal era amable y servicial, el servicio fue rápido. Comida deliciosa: costillas de barbacoa seguidas de agridulce estilo de Hong Kong con papas fritas, arroz y galletas de gambas. Food is not like chinese takeaways in england. I have had chinese takeaways in edinburgh which were better than this so i doubt its like chinese takeaways in Scotland either. Everything is bulked up with copious amounts of boiled veg, even the sweet and sour sauce? Noodles come in a strange sauce. Chicken balls are made using the same batter as the fish for the fish and chips. Generally disappointing. Would have preferred going to Morrison's and having one of their chinese ready meals.

Best Chinese in Fort. Can get very busy at the weekends but the food is always worth the wait.

Ordered two items. Sweat and sour chicken Hong-Kong style, was good. Satay chicken on sticks, just a container of red fat. Put me right off, through it straight in the bin.

Fuimos un grupo de 4 senderistas que buscan un bocado en la noche. Sólo pedimos y después de esperar 5 minutos y tomar nuestro dinero nos dicen que tardarían 30 minutos! Dos de nosotros pedimos comida china y era pasable pero dos de nosotros pedimos pescado y patatas fritas y el bateador era como una galleta. Suena como Sammy's es una mejor opción.

Good variety of Chinese food at reasonable prices. Service is fast and staff are helpful and friendly. Mainly for takeaways. A definite must for Asians craving for Chinese food. We will go back there if we visit Fort William.

Llamado hacia aquí después de encontrar en tripadvisor. Estábamos en nuestro camino de vuelta de escalar Ben Nevis y necesitaba un buen chino para recuperar fuerzas y nos encontramos. Singapur vermicelli era genial. Volveremos de nuevo si en el área de 5 estrellas.

Went here as the one across the square that I usually use was closed. I liked what we had but we are used to the taste from the other place. I would use it again the food was good, Price was alright but the young staff behind counter have a wee bit to learn although they are doing alright. Liked how you could see the cooking happening behind the counter.

Located in Caol, just outside of Fort William, Deli Barqen has some of the best Chinese food in Scotland (in my opinion). The staff are very polite and the prices are very reasonable. The view of Ben Nevis from the store front makes any wait for food seem short. The view of the loch makes for a nice place to picnic if the weather cooperates. Parking is very convenient, and there are a few shoppes in the same square worth browsing around in if you want to make an afternoon of it.

Most of the time the food is good, but we ordered a coconut chicken meal one time and it was disgusting, toilet paper in the fridge disgusting, We're using the wee one across the street now, ......all good so far

Have had many meals from here before and all have been excellent However this evening I ordered a dish I had before and it was totally lacking the battered king prawns were swimming in the lemon sauce which made the batter soggy, totally off putting not the way I had the dish Maybe when there is a change of chef standards should be maintained ? My partner also commented that the special fried rice was changed We like to support local business but on tonight's meal Deli Barqen gone down in my estimation Plus on a hygiene point girls hair should be beneath the hat/cap they are wearing not hanging down over their shoulders and aprons

Had very many home deliveries without a problem.....all tastes are catered for at a reasonable cost...food is fresh and portions large...

Got a takeaway on Saturday 9th July, fish suppers soggy, colourless and tasteless with matching chips. So even though we were hungry deposited it in the bin. Never again.

Wanted to eat out in Fort William but having a dog drastically cut down our choices. Staying at Glen Nevis campsite so were pleased to learn the takeaway could deliver. Two mains and two rice including delivery cost £16 and it all arrived in 45 minutes with a phone call so we could meet them at reception. Food a bit too salty - maybe that is how the locals like it - but otherwise it was great with good sized portions. Menu online so easy to order.

I was staying at Chase The Wild Goose Hostel and fancied a takeaway. Found this place on Google. Phoned up, placed my order, arrived in about 25 minutes and it was pretty amazing! Definitely recommended

Local folk raved about the Deli Barqen, so I just had to try it for myself. Now their number is speed dial on my mobile. Staff are friendly and polite. The menu choices are mouth-watering and the prices are pitched just right. It's simply a fab take-away tucked away in Caol, almost like a local secret, but everyone knows about the Deli Barqen.

Prompt efficient delivery service. Good value exceptionally tasty cantonese style food. Crispy seaweed delicious, try the Cantonese King prawn. Also delicious is chicken in black bean. total £17. It's a lot better value than some of the local Scottish bar food.

Had to wait an hour for a takeaway. Chips were ready 20 mins before rest of order. Sezchuan beef was more like beef in a spicy gravy not like any other Sezchuan i have tasted and there was way too much soy sauce on the noodles they were practically black and far too salty. Perhaps they were having a busy night however, i will not order from them again. Really disappointed.

This little gem of a takeaway is in Caol near the shopping centre. It has a very large choice of Chinese starters and mains, as well as European or UK cuisine. The seaweed started was great, as well as the quality of our main courses, fried rice, prawn szechuan and sweet and sour chicken. The restaurant looks clean and has a pass certificate Food Hygiene Rating, which is good to know when on holiday.

Have never had a bad take-away from the DB...... normally get home delivery within 30/40 mins from ordering...good food good prices and GR8T staff.

I placed an order for delivery, it arrived about an hour later, missing part of it (charged for and paid). When I phoned to ask where the missing part was, the reaction was appalling - was told that it was not her fault and that she couldn't say when the missing item would be delivered. The food is good, but I've got to say that the service is really bad. It makes me think again about whether to ever use them again!

Phoned for a delivery last week at 22:20 and received it no problem. Phoned tonight to be told that it depends where I stay. I informed the woman on the phone who then said that they couldn't deliver to town at this time. However it states on the leaflet that they deliver untill 11pm. Phoned back to then be informed that the driver had finished for the night? Rather confusing if you ask me.
