Good food, nice and hot, tasty!

I ordered a duck curry. It was the best duck curry I have had for a long time. Thank you.

Where do I start on this place? The building needs heavy investment for this place to look acceptable. The waiting area doesn’t give a good first impression. The waiting area reminded me of my primary school hall and trust me that wasnt a good place to be. The food was so bad!! My chicken was cold and was just no flavour. The chips were good but lets be honest knowone can get chips wrong. The most enjoyable part was me going to the toilet to remove this waste from my poor body.

The ran down building was not a appealing start and the door wouldn’t shut this left the indoor seating area feeling like the North Pole the man at the till was very nice and easy to have a conversation with very friendly and welcoming but the food was horrendous I would rather eat anything else the spring role tasted like dettol washing up liquid I don’t recommend it was a large portion size shame it went all in the bin decent price for a Chinese but none of it touched would not recommend unless you want the next day of work

We had a takeaway on Saturday on the whole a good experience, staff friendly and helped with food allergy. Duck was tough and the prawn crackers were forgotten about but otherwise the food was really good and we will be back

The take away food is pretty good, certainly very tasty. Functional service counter with plenty of space - guessing it can get very busy. Service fairly quick - especially if you call in an order, as we did, it was ready and waiting for pick-up. For a small fee they will deliver.

Spring roll filled with cabbage and onion hard carrots in both main meals not recommended

Meal was fine except the missing rice. I suggest checking your order before leaving.

Shame about the dated negative reviews. The food was hot and was nice to eat. The fried rice and chicken dish I ate was OK. Don't be put off by the building. I agree it's not the most appealing. But the food was OK.

You don't get what you ask for ordered beef curry with fried rice got beef chow mein with fried rice when phoned to complain was told they had read it back even though I said beef curry im wrong

Needs to improve when people order there food as orders never right when you get home.

The food is often oily and a little sub par. There are better takeaways... try Golspie.

Old faithful Chinese. Never have any issues with orders and food is always great.

Great food but customer service awful. The lady on the phone was interrupting every few minutes to speak to someone next to her. Because of this our order was placed wrong. When asked to add on the missing food the lady made a big song and dance about how she couldn't fix the mistake. Blamed us for the mistake and left the rest of our order to go cold whilst arguing. We eventually got our missing food however the rest of the food was stone cold and inedible.

I had pork sweet and sour Cantonese style, the sauce was nice but the pork??? Was pure grizzle and fat , disgusting .

THE FOOD ITSELF I CANNOT FAULT, HOWEVER A CERTAIN MEMBER OF STAFFS ATTITUDE IT NOT NICE AT ALL, MOST OF THE TIME SHE IS POLITE BUT THERE HAS BEEN A FEW TIMES SHE HAS A DIFFERENT MOOD. This Chinese takeaway used to be the Best, then it was taken over and has gone downhill ever since. We had a takeaway last night which was inedible. It all went in the refuse bin ! Never again. I wouldn’t even give it a 1 rating .... Disgusting

We were staying in a b&b in Tain as a base for sight seeing. Finding somewhere to eat due to restaurants closing at 6 was difficult. We checked trip advisor and saw the reviews for this place and was a bit put off trying it but we were glad we did. It was easy enough to find and parking was available outside. My husband and I had 2 separate meals from here and were both very impressed. It was very tasty, the staff were friendly and it was cooked very quickly. The prices weren’t bad either. We liked it so much we used it again the following night after a long days road trip. Yet again, food was piping hot, very tasty and full of flavour. We are so glad we decided to try it and certainly weren’t disappointed. I would highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken! Please just try it once as you may be pleasantly surprised like us! Would definitely revisit if we return to the area. Thanks

Excellent find! Found this chinese take away and I was a bit dubious, looking from the outside in, but used it twice this week already! Fresh veg throughout the dishes and the curry is honestly one of the best I have had anywhere in the world😁

Good food, don't be put off by the look of the building.

We have had several take aways and all have been of a good standard. We had a treat this week and were very pleased with food and service during the lockdown. Very friendly service 👍

Surprisingly very good in here, looks aged and weathered but this has become my "go-to" in the area for chinese.

We had a take away from here last night we bought a munchy box it was a good value for money for what was in it I would definitely recommend it

Wasn't the best but not the worst.

The worst Chinese I have ever eaten, for a munchie box and it was far from munchy, everything was dry and tasteless chicken balls were greasy and half filled with chicken, sauces like paste and horrible, one thing chips were ok, they should join this place onto the royal guesthouse in Dingwall, both businesses terrible and kill 2 birds with one stone.

ordered chicken wings and BBQ ribs. Service prompt, prices horrendous. Chicken wings were tasty enough if you ignored the excess grease. Chips were OK. Ribs were poorly reheated and rather dried out. BBQ sauce was nothing special. Chow Mein was also greasy and unappetising. Only went here because the Chinese in Dornoch is closed for refurb. Lets hope it reopens soon cos this place is dreadful

Good meal but for one problem was given ordinary curry not a Thai green one but it was ok will be using again.

Had a fine take away Chinese meal, no problems, all good, most enjoyable. Will go again. Don’t get the negative reviews, food was absolutely fine. Maybe take over initial problems, good now though.

Don't ask for the Kung Pao Chicken, although this is a spicy stir fried dish cooked with Chicken peanuts and chilli the Chef seems to think it a sweet and sour dish and will argue with you. Was offered a sweet and sour dish as a replacement which was an insult as I hate sweet and sour. After replacement dish was cooled the Chef couldn't be bothered with replacing the rest of my order. Will not be returning.

My first experience with this place wasn't the best. I understand it is under new ownership, and you can tell. The food has improved vastly, and it appears that the staff take seriously their job. Excellent array of cuisine to explore, and quick service.

Absolutely disgusting chips raw curry sauce sweet i actually think it was couple days old very fruity and not in good way expensive shouldn't be able to order food and its ready in 3 mins and changing your oil would also be a good idea fried rice shouldn't be brown

The worst Chinese meal I have had... ever. Inedible. Used to be reasonable but since change of ownership it is absolutely awful. I'm in no way a fussy eater but I couldn't eat this rubbish. Staff dont care, service level on par with the food. Will not be going back.

New ownership has not made it better, perhaps has taken a slump.

Visited here last week and won't be back. Had salt and chilli chips which were the best part of our meal! Spare ribs in sauce were ok. But both main meals were awful. I had Szechuan chicken and fried rice the sauce was bland and tasteless and the chicken was just slimy mush. Very hard to see how it could be sold for human consumption! The rice was greasy and over cooked. My partner had what was called honey shredded chicken. It was actually strips of chicken in a bath of syrup not a hint of honey! Avoid. Last owner much better felt ripped off!!!!

Food was amazing! The manager and his wife is very kind. I have been there two years ago. We were riding to Tain and looking for hostel. When they know about this, they kindly let us living in there new house for a night and prepared delicious breakfast for us. They said:" Don't worry, we are all Chinese." We were so touched by them. Very reasonable price and a friendly service but the food was severely lacking. Packed with salt and sugar and got to a point where our party were unable to carry on eating.

Sometimes this place can be a hit or miss, however it's now under new management and I can honestly say we enjoyed a delicious meal last night. Food was ready quickly and was absolutely beautiful and fresh. Will definitely return! :)

It is under new management and the food it definately better.It was annoying to see bags of prawn crackers but not offered any !

Consistently good although man is unfriendly and no free prawn crackers. Ever. Not sure how other reviews are quite so scathing as we are always happy with what we get.

I have worked up in Tain before and the take away used to be very good but the last time I went in for my favourite dishes which are spare ribs and Chicken Chow Mein and what I walked away with was truly terrible and I have not been back since. Goop us an understatement and a vegetable is unheard of thing in this take away unless its an onion!

Decided to try here as we were staying locally and fancied something different. Should have stuck to our hotel food. Most of mine went in the bin, my partner ate his but to be honest he'd eat anything if he's hungry enough! Lesson learnt though. Will visit elsewhere when next in Tain, if we can find another one!

Worst chinese we have ever had, we had a couple of fork fulls and threw it in the bin, was really looking forward to chinese and was so disapointed, ended up cooking something for dinner after paying nearly £40 for an unedible chinese meal, only saving grace was i bought my daughter chips and they were not too bad, the rest well, wouldnt even give it to the dog!

By far the worst experience we have ever had at a takeaway. Pre-ordered our food by phone call, therefore we expected to just pick our food up as soon as we got to the Chinese. Instead of this, we had to wait a further 45 minutes for our food to be ready. Absolutely ridiculous. The man behind the counter seemed to be doing both the cooking and the cashier so maybe hiring some actual staff would help the speed of service? Once we eventually got the food we were told the price: £41. A Chinese takeaway for four people should never, ever cost this amount. The same food in an Aberdeen (an overall expensive city) Chinese would cost about £25. Once we got home to eat our food, we were heavily disappointed. Battered chicken was 90% batter and rice was dry. First time we've been fleeced by a takeaway.

I have had chinese food all around Scotland in my travels and this has got to be the best so farThe meat is cooked very well and their is no fat and free food is given if either they mess up an item on the order or even if you spend a certain amount of money

I have been using this take-a-way for years. I love their prawn curry so keep using it. Other dishes I'm not that keen on. The service is good.

Ordered chips and curry.... Cold in middle. Ribs were all fat. Prawn crackers were chewy. Curry sauce was crap too. Plus the service is awful.... No smile or a thank you. Avoid!

Not good food but a little better than Dornoch Chinese Sweet and sour chicken was a portion of battered chicken a poly cup full of sauce no pineapple peppers or onions it's a disgrace. This is not acceptable.Chicken chow mein had a portion of gravy on it in gravy was a clear gelatin ball were not mixed could of been sick. I do not want gravy on my meals this is not Chinese food.The wait in this place was 45mins even though I telephoned ahead does not accept cards.

Every time I place a phone order, I am waiting 20-30 mins once I get to the takeaway as they never have the food ready. What's the point of phoning in advance?They always mess the orders up (I asked for a portion of cashew nuts separately, which they added to one of the curries).The young girl serving should learn some manners, as she never says please or thankyou.
