Mr Pats in Wakefield

NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED DOWN Gave them a couple of chances with "chicken" wrap and "Turkish special kebab" two weeks running.... On both occasions, although there was some nice looking chicken on the grill skewer in the shop, it sadly never made it into our wrap or kebab.... 😕 The meat we got was not really describable ... We could also detect a distinct "chemical" back taste also on both products.... Maybe "Pat" is short for "Pathology" or something... 🤔 Won't be calling again...

Not open takes your money and closed. Can’t get refund

Food was tasty. Closed since many months ,not sure about reopening. Fish and chips is the best.

This fish shop is closed was going to order on just eat but decided to drive and order there save few pennies. Looks like they had a fire 🔥 asked someone while there said been shut months apparently. So the question is where is food been cooked as they still on just eat and have recent reviews 🤔

They list a number and when something is wrong with the order, they don't even pick up. They have a non refund policy by looks of it and have had other complaints from this place before about pink chicken.

I ordered from here on just eat, but it’s called big fellas on just eat, none of the contact numbers work for this restaurant and they would not reply to me, i saw online that the place had been closed for a couple of weeks so I cancelled my order but they lied and said they had started cooking my order so wouldn’t refund my money, but they had not started cooking my food because the place was closed, this place is a scam and i have lost £43 because of this scam place. Do not go here!!

**** Looks like its closed now , Love their food, proper chips not frozen. Curry sauce lovely and delivery has always been quicker than time given on website. Fish nice & fresh.

I dont often get takeaways and this is one of the nicest kebabs Ive had. Thank you x

The delivery came late and the hair was in the food

The worst takeaway delivery ever. Food took 1 and a half hours to be delivered. When it finally arrived, it was cold and very bland and gave me an upset tummy. Will never return as it was too expensive and slow and a warning for any of you who choose this place.

Ordered at 7.54pm it is currently now 9.58pm and they marked my order as delivered and it's still not arrived. OVER 2 HOURS and still waiting. I don't like to leave bad reviews but when it tells you it will be delivered at 8.35pm it's quite a joke really.. almost gone past 10. Recommended not lying to your customers about delivery times... *Update arrived at 10.05pm and had missing items. Would not answer the phone. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️now refusing to refund through deliveroo🤦‍♀️ On a good note, I guess the food that arrived was nice and maybe collection service would be better.

Shocking service just under 2 hours waiting for food for two people on a Wednesday night. Had to call twice. Kept sending msgs on just eat saying running late. No explanation as to why food is running late - even hung up on me when I called and asked why, no apology, nothing,. Apparently 5 mins away, but still waiting. My advice do not use Mr Pats. Absolute shambles . Hopefully the food isn’t as terrible as the service

Went last night for fish & chips as my usual one was shut fish was very oily obviously oil was not hot enough also says small fish & chips £5.50 regular £6.75 was charged £7.50 for some reason won't be going again so not a problem

Ordered via phone, was told we are very far away so its a £6 delivery fee and a 45Minute-1Hour wait. I told them that's perfectly reasonable. I called 2 hours later to find where food had got to. Only to be told driver had turned around as couldn't find me, they claim to have called but no missed calls and its a business line so is always on and never failed to receive a call before. Asked if they could send him back and call me this time and I will stand outside and wait for him. Told me that was be another 45 minutes to an hour. Utterly useless. I tried waiting almost 2 hours to give them a fair chance but can understand why people don't these days!

This isn't my first review of Mr pats but after another great experience of eating from there I just thought I'd repeat myself great food, great prices and cheerful staff.

Very nice food! Best part is they are open for lunch takeaway and delivery!!👍👍

Absolutely disgusting.waited over an hour to be delivered only to find it stone cold. Rang to complain and all of a sudden they couldn’t understand me.

Got 2 fish to myself, didn't imagine they would be so big, only just fit on my plate! Light crispy batter really yummy 😋

I'm a visitor from France and eating at this takeaway was amazing. I ate the Fish and Chips and the Peri Peri chicken. It was fantasmagorical. I highly recommend every citizen of Wakefield to eat at Mr Pats.

I'm not easily pleased when it comes to take away but Mr pats will always be my go to take away. Great food, great portions and service with a smile. Try the King kebab, enough to feed a small army. 10/10

Absolutely disgusting service. When the order was running late, I tried to call them but no one answered. Finally got a text telling me to call a different number because the guy was on holiday. Didn't get any answer from the other number either. The guy on holiday didn't want to know.

I ordered a fish butty small and git charged a fiver. Got home to realise is a large portion of fish without breadcake. I was the only person who ordered as it was not busy at all. Iv had other chippys outpace this

Always order on UberEATS and today I phoned to say was it possible for them to start on my order early if possible. (i ordered on the UberEATS app at 3.40pm for delivery between 4.30-5pm as I'd got home early) I phoned b4 5pm and I was told other member of staff on phone to driver. Was then left in silence for at least 30 seconds then told it's on way...when it came to 5.07pm I phoned and was told driver is 5-7 mins away. I said are you sure and your not lying n just putting my order on now as you forgot about it. Guy on phones voice got a bit aggressive n said its on way. Did not take 5-7 mins it took another 24 mins.. The order then took 1 1/2 hrs to deliver from my phone call to ask for it delivering earlier. When it did come it was delivered in a just eat bag not UberEATS. I won't be buying from here again. I'm a loyal customer and these past months the quality and service has been atrocious. There lost a good customer

Avoid this place have offers on website and when you order it and go to collect it they don't fullfil it and charge you more than the price listed on the website

If I could have given 0 stars I would. Ordered at 6.53pm said it would be an hour. Rang at 8.03pm the guy said it would be 10 mins. Rant at 8.20pm he said the driver was outside. He wasn't. Said he rang the driver and he couldn't find the address. 10 mins later the driver turned up all the while the guy on the phone was on the phone to the driver? No he wasn't. I had the food in my hand and he was still on the phone to the driver. Blatant lies. And of course the food was cold. Never again!!!!!!

Have been in this cafe /takeaway several times now, and the food and service have been great on every occasion.

Fish and chips jokers the box it arrives in taste better discusting mess chips reheated from god knows when and the fish must have jumped in landing net on its own vile

Took 2 hours to deliver the food, unprofessional service as I had to ring 4 times to get a update and was lied to each time about delivery time.

Orderd from here a few times and it had been decent quality, but recently bought fish and chips and it was horrible, the fish was like wet cardboard and I was terribly ill the next day. I'd pick somewhere else to eat there's plenty of good chippys in wakefield to pick from.

Ordered from here a number of times while being away from home. Delivery is always on time and food is always fresh and packed well! Food it self is delicious with great portions! Nothing very spectacular from a point of view of fine dining lol, but not bad in the slightest for fast food and chippy food! Very delicious fish and chips, curry sauce, mushy peas and kebabs .... cant fault it! Great place for a nice take away! You wont be dissapointed ..... Got the jumbo my self ... it can feed 2 people easily ... maybe even 3 .... Was nice and hot, crispy batter, soft tasty fish and chips were great! Side orders did there job and were nice. Great place to order from if you're looking for tasty chip shop food!

How are these guys in the fish and chips business.. just received my fish and chips at work and it tastes like its been reheated from last night and sent out for delivery. Disgusting. Straight in the bin and what a waste of money.

Kebab was decent enough but it was mostly a load of chips with 2 little kebabs.

Ordered from here a few times. Kebabs are gorgeous and the side salads. The different meat was a good portion. The fish and chips are a good sized portion and not greasy. The chips are proper chippy chips too. All good portion sizes on all foods and cooked to perfection.

I have ordered chicken Tikka naan from Mr pats. Unfortunately that was my first and last order because the chicken was proper raw and bland. It didn't taste right at all with no salad or sauces. I wasn't able to chew the chicken. I am very disappointed.

There was barely any chicken in my mixed kebab but loads of donner. if i would want donner only kebab i would get one... Plus they are deleting reviews from their website. Never gonna order from them.

Decent portions , ok prices, kebabs with too much oily and soya like meat...All the rest is quite tasty.

Excellent service. I once called but they didn't answer as they were busy. They instantly rang me back to apologise and take my order. When I arrived to collect my order, they generously gave me some extra free chicken wings to compensate them not answering my call, even though the delay was only 10 seconds lol. Amazing food too cheers guys.

East meets west as this place is birh a fish and chip shop and a kebab house. Made my first visit today and enjoyed it. I opted for the chicken tikka diner with chips. Cost was £5.50. Served with a very nice salad and garlic dressing. The portion was very large; I couldn't manage it all! Very tasty.! Social distancing was observed by all customers while they waited for their food. However the combination of chippy style chips and kebabs didn't quite work for me hence not a 5 star rating.

Not terrible but not good either. Chips were tasteless and fish batter soggy. Ordered a kebab too and they got order wrong. Good value if you want a cheap eat but wouldn't go there again

Had to report the delivery driver to the Police. This is a reflection on the delivery. I will not be using their delivery services.

Well I have had a lot of fish and chips in my life but these were the worst I have had in my life. I had bought fish and chips x4 for the family and everyone's were a disgrace the fish were like cardboard . I got scraps on mine and they were the best part of the meal. Will not be going there again biggest waste of money I have ever spent.

We would not Evan give this one star Evan the dog turned away and wouldn’t eat it don’t know how old the fish was but I am guessing it came from some sort of fossilised rock it was that hard

Excellent Quality, not swimming in Grease like other places, mixed kebab on nan, so so good

First time ordering and we weren't sure what to get and we were hungry so basically ordered loads.... All of it was cold but, the chips were nice(need the black bits taking out b4 chipping) the fish tatsed frozen and the batter was way too thick and not cooked, the batter on the chicken nuggets were also too thick, However the sausage, chips, pie, gravy, peas and curry were very nice.. Will order once again and ask for lightly battered nuggets and not order fish...

Wouldn't order from here. Ordered at 7.30pm, been at work 16 hour as a key worker!!!! 10.15pm still no sign of food. Rang twice and been fobbed off with it being busy and no where else open which is a complete lie. Sorry but its 1 hour and 30 minutes late. Then after ringing the phone is dead. No ring at all. When I look online it says its been delivered when it clearly has not. Absolutley disgusting. Don't even bother bringing it because a dont want it 🤢🤢
