Mr & Mrs C's in Wakefield

Met my friend today at Mr & Mrs. Very friendly staff and nice food and coffee. I had a baked potato with salad and my friend had a sandwich. Definitely recommend and not expensive.

Called last week with my “ bubble “. 2 of us had afternoon tea and they very kindly did us a toasted sandwich instead of the variety ones. I had ham shamim had cheese. Both very nice separately but my friend is a vegetarian and as we had ordered 2 afternoon teas we presumed ( wrongly ) they would arrive on 2 seperate plates Maybe our fault for not saying. But they both arrived side by side on same cake stand 😔. To save upsetting anyone we wrapped hers up and took it home what we both ate was lovely put please put on seperate dishes if poss next time 😀

Favourite coffee house in Wakefield with such lovely staff and great choice of food for a reasonable price. Also had good covid precautions in place. If you have never been. Give it a go you won't get disappointed.

Lovely Independent cafe! Good choice of drinks, sandwiches & salads :) Can not recommend this place enough for a spot of light lunch !

Great lunchtime bite to eat! Popped in for for a quick lunchtime bite and it was very nice indeed! The bacon sandwich and the smoothies were really delicious If fancy a bite to eat and your near this cafe I would definitely recommend popping in

What a lovely treat it was to receive a Mr&Mrs C's voucher for Afternoon Tea for two as a birthday gift. I phoned this morning to enquire if I needed to book and was pleased they could reserve a table for us at 2pm. I was asked if we had any special dietary requirements so that they could be provided. On arrival the table was already set for us and we were given a warm and friendly greeting from staff. We were given a choice of which scones and cakes we would like. In no time at all a cake stand arrived with a delicious array of tasty sandwiches garnished with salad and crisps, wonderfully light slices of cake and scones with dishes of jam and clotted cream. The food and service were excellent and I would highly recommend a visit to Mr&Mrs C's

Visited with my wife for lunch. Spacious, bright and spotlessly clean. Great service with a good menu. Very reasonably priced. Gluten free, vegetarian catered for. Wife had hearty cream of tomato soup with gluten free bread. I had bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich on granary. Good thick slices of lovely fresh bread with good quality bacon, plenty of brie. This was an excellent tasty sandwich. We will return!

Delicious and top quality afternoon tea! We had prebooked our table and it was all set up waiting with lovely vintage cups, saucers and plates. Generously filled sandwiches, fresh scones with cream & Jam and a selection of gorgeous cakes on traditional tiered stands. The staff were friendly and kept us topped up with lots of tea!! Excellent quality and value! Many thanks

This is a really popular cafe and every time I go all the tables are full so I can't stay. Finally today, after months of trying, I got a lovely window table all to myself! The smiley young lady at the counter took my order and told me to go settle down and they'd bring everything to me. My pot of tea was piping hot and served with a lovely vintage cup and saucer - there was enough for two full cups which was perfect. I had a toasted bacon and tomato sandwich that came with an unexpected side salad which was drizzled with a lovely tangy but sweet dressing. I also ordered a sultana scone (or you can have cherry) which was soft, warm and served with good portions of clotted cream and jam. The total cost of this was under £7.50 which is less than I paid for similar in a department store cafe last week. The food, staff and surroundings were so much lovelier and it's nice to be able to support a family business. I'll definitely go back (when I can manage to find another empty table!)

Took some friends for coffee and cake to our favourite little coffee shop. They loved the decor and the shop. They also loved the lovely cakes and hot coffee. The setting is always so peaceful, keep up the great work.

Visited today for a Birthday Afternoon Tea with my daughter and family, The table was already set up even with a highchair for my grandson! Brilliant selection of homemade bread sandwiches with salad and lots of crisps! Some really big slabs of different cake and some scones with cream and jam! We all had refillable cappuccinos which were massive and the lady even brought a coloring book and pencils and a china teapot and cup which had juice in for my toddler grandson, which he loved! It was a very lovely experience and a really calm place which is spacious and beautifully decorated! The staff are very attentive and friendly and can’t do enough for you as a customer! I’ve been a couple of times with a friend and our young babies, staff have always been proactive in helping us organise our pushchairs, high chairs etc which is lovely.

This is a place we return to quite frequently and it has become a favourite. the food it good and well presented.

Been here several times for lunch so far. This little cafe offers a number of breakfast and lunch options (soup, sandwiches, salads) with different types of bread inlcuding a gluten free one. Also there is a lovely selection of cakes, cupcakes and brownies (also vegan).

Lovely atmosphere and attractive cafe. Food made to order and some unusual choices. Good wholemeal bread and generous filling. Good cup of coffee.

We called in here on a Saturday morning for breakfast. We received a warm welcome and were impressed with the menu choices (especially the cakes) and food when it arrived was very tasty. We will definitely return.

Called in for lunch for a break from christmas shopping. Have been here a few times and its is always great. Staff are very welcoming and the cafe is cosy. The sandwiches are delicious and i love that you are served with a proper tea pot and china cup and saucer. The cakes and scones are irresitable.

We happened upon this lovely café while looking for lunch in Wakefield after a visit to the Hepworth. The staff were lovely, unlike others we'd encountered in the city. A good range of veggie and vegan food in addition to more traditional lunch date, and at reasonable prices.

This is a real find - a vintage-style cafe with good food as well as a variety of vegetarian choices, near Wakefield Cathedral. Very family friendly with interesting shabbily chic décor and unusual furniture – free wifi. A British-based menu includes bacon sandwiches on granary bread, seeded rolls, scones, brownies and chocolate custard and apple pie. Good quality coffees and teas, allergies catered to - service very efficient, and prices reasonable. Note that afternoon tea begins at 1.30pm, and, unfortunately there weren't any outside tables, despite the sunny weather outside. Closes at 4:00pm on weekdays, 5:00pm on Sat and closed Sundays. A welcome change from the Costa, Café Nero chain-type models.

I called in on a busy Saturday lunchtime and was greeted with lovely approachable staff who directed my son and I to a nice table for two. The décor is very New England with white washed pallets for tables and a lovely light airy atmosphere due to the two large floor to ceiling windows at either end of the shop. We chose to have sandwhiches and asked if they could be toasted which they said was no problem. I didn't realise this was a licensed café so my son was very happy to be able to have a beer. Our sandwiches came with a lovely salad with a nice dressing on. We then chose a lovely cake each, they have a great selection of Vegan and Gluten Free products and the coffee was lovely. All in all a lovely café which has improved tenfold since the new owners took over last year. Well done Mr & Mrs C's keep up the great service and fantastic food.

First time here - cakes were wonderfully fresh and tasty. Early grey tea in China pots, cups and saucers. Staff wonderful - couldn't do enough for you. Reasonable prices. Very good !

Popped into Mr&Mrs; C’s for brunch - good selection of sandwiches and salads, catering for a wide variety of allergies/intolerances. Bread was beautifully soft and fresh, and the bacon really crispy. Fantastic coffee too and friendly staff. Great selection of DF/vegan cakes as well.

Came here with my friend for lunch and had a bacon sandwich. I was very impressed with the quality of the bacon and the size of the sandwich however it is slightly on the pricey side.

Top cakes - especially the red velvet! Good service and light! They also take card and are reasonably priced for the quality.

Came here on a Saturday morning with my friend. Didn’t even know it was here until I saw on TripAdvisor. The decor is very cute and fresh. Staff were lovely, food was delicious and so, so cheap. Avocado toast had a pile of spinach and some balsamic glaze on, lovely fresh healthy combination. Tea in cute china cups which I love. Definitely coming back.

Bought as a Christmas present. Quirky inside, attentive service and great food. As someone who has cows milk intolerance it is sometimes difficult, however this was no problem here. I was offered a choice of 3 different brownies, dairy free scone and treats. Would definitely recommend.

Came in the other day for a quick coffee and had a lovely waitress who was very attentive to me, I’m pretty sure her name was Laura, her and I had a lovely chat and she definitely made me want to come back again! Coffee was also good :)

My jacket potato was lovely and fluffy had beans on too. Then raspberry cake to follow which was lovely and moist. The staff were lovely and friendly too. Will definitely visit this cafe again 😁

Visited this cafe for lunch and it was a pleasant experience. Noticed it has got a 5* rating and it looks very clean. You can see the staff preparing sandwiches etc. Staff were all very pleasant and the food was really nice. I had a tomato soup that was really tasty and there are lots of nice cakes to chose from. Interesting decor and use of up cycled palates etc to make tables. Nice atmosphere in there.

I follow Mr & Mrs C's on Facebook but I don't go into Wakefield very often so this is the first chance I've had to call in.

Really lovely independent cafe with yummy food! Very friendly welcome, staff were all friendly and the cafe has a homely feel. The decor is fresh, modern and attractive. My daughter enjoyed her children’s meal & my red velvet cake was delicious. We will certainly be back! A great and welcome change from visiting chain coffee shops.

I booked Mr and Mrs C's as a starting point for my Girlfriend's birthday having driven past it umpteen times and thinking wow - that looks really nice in there!

Took my friend Caroline here for a Birthday treat today and we both really enjoyed it, good choice of sandwiches on lovely, fresh bread, gorgeous scones with clotted cream and jam, and cake that looks just as good (haven't eaten it yet as we brought it home in the box provided) The directions to the loo (or not) are brilliant. Thank you for a lovely afternoon. We'll be back.

We called in for a snack lunch and were blown away by the salads on offer. I had a chicken and avocado and my wife had goats cheese and walnut. Could not be bettered and served with great cheerfulness. Topped off with two huge Americanos and Bingo it made our day. Thank you.

My sister and I had lunch at Mr & Mrs C's it was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. The service was good and the staff were very helpful.

Myself and my husband stopped for afternoon tea and what a pleasure. You get a good choice of sandwich’s and bread type. Homemade Scones and choice of cake , all garnished with Nachos and fruit. With unlimited tea all served lovingly in China cups with excellent service. I would highly recommend.

Called in with my son for coffee and a break from shopping and was pleasantly surprised. Staff were polite and helpful and the place is lovely and clean. I love the decor and the coffee was superb. I would highly recommend the brownies. I had a mint aero brownie and it was delicious!

Visit fairly often as work in town centre and this place does large, fresh salads which are great. Chicken and avocado good as is the salmon. Good coffee too and quick, friendly service.

Very welcoming staff, had a bacon Brie & cranberry sandwich which was lovely, the bread was so fresh and tasty. Would recommend and will visit on my return to Wakefield

This little cafe is amazing! Would 100% recommend to anyone. I had the goats cheese and onion chutney sandwich on white bread, and it was delicious. The bread was clearly very fresh as it was nice and soft, and it was only £3.50! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The boy who served us (Lewis) was especially very friendly and helpful. He deserves some recognition! I will most certainly be coming back here again :-)

Had been recommended by a work colleague. It's a great place for lunch. Really nicely furnished - shabby chic theme, lovely food & staff and very reasonable prices. Nice clientele dining, just what Wakefield needs, definitely worth a visit.

We went for a late lunch with two friends. Inside the cafe is bright and cheerful, done out in modern style with quirky touches like the pallet tables.

Lovely place to go for food. Thoroughly enjoyed the smoked salmon with side salad. The staff were so friendly. The owner was so authentic and very accommodating to make sure you were happy with your food.

Dropped into this cafe this morning for a cuppa and a butty. Very friendly staff, nicely decorated and good service. Food excellent.

I've been here a few times now and the food never disappoints. I've had a sandwich which was amazing. But have to say the jacket potatos are something else! They are huge and stuffing piled high. Drinks are great too. Hot chocolates come in a sort of mason jar with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Prices are really reasonable too compared to other cafés near by. Have recommended this to friends and family

Pop by for lunch and order home made soup with bread- it is carrot and corraider . Had white hot chocolate filled with cream and chocolate ball in mason glass mug. The cafe is lovely and stylish! Lovely and friendly staffs

Called in for breakfast on a wet Friday morning during Christmas shopping. What a ray of sunshine. Excellent quality Americano and a sublime bacon, tomato and avocado on toast. Service friendly and attentive and overall reasonably priced. Very highly recommended

This cafe was recommend to me by a sales assistant when I asked her about where to eat. I had jacket potato with tuna mayo, comes with light side salad & i had additional cheese and a pot of tea. Jacket potato large & tender. Lots of tuna mayo, butter. Good amount of grated cheese. Lovely clean bright cafe, nice ambience. Definitely would go again.

Friendly staff, good service, my favourite sandwiches in Wakefield. They will make any combination so you don't have to stick to the menu.

A specific member of staff was rude and inviting, they were not accommodating for a simple order of an espresso machiatto and offered no suggestions of alternatives.

My friends and I visited this café for lunch in September, it is very quirky and has lovely furniture. I ordered a baked potato and beans, perhaps it was my fault that I didn't actually state "no butter" but when it arrived it was really swimming in butter. My friends enjoyed their sandwiches. The service was good.

I have been wanting to try this cosy cafe since it first opened. Shabby chic decor, fresh salads and supersize sarnies sums up my experience here. I came with my son who loved the copious amounts of cream on his hot chocolate. Very friendly staff and food was cooked fresh behind the deli counter by the even friendlier chef! Great value for money too. We ordered hot chocolate, goats cheese salad and a Blt all for £10. They offered tap water bottled at our table too... Always a nice touch :)

This is becoming a regular when shopping either for a pick me up cuppa n cake or a lunch. All the food is freshly prepared and delicious. Highly recommend the baked potatoes.

Lovely quiet and quaint cafe (just chatter, no noisy coffee machines!) Good quality wifi. I had homemade lentil and bacon soup with a cappuccino; both very tasty.

Absolutely lovely, fresh, homemade food all sourced locally where possible. Gorgeous surroundings, excellent service. The red velvet cake is to die for. An absolute must try.

I only visited here as I saw the sign on my way back from visiting the jewellers opposite and needed to feed my baby so stopped for a coffee. What a pleasant surprise! Lovely staff and fantastic homemade lemon drizzle loaf! Great coffee too which the owner told me was Jamaican and knew a lot about it. I'll certainly be stopping again for coffee and cake! Worth a try.

Fantastic atmosphere and the staff can't do enough for you. The cheeseboard is out of this world tasty and excellent value for money.

I have been here several times on a Saturday lunch time, the food is fantastic, excellent quality and a quirky setting. I have noticed that the portions are getting smaller though, not putting as much filling in our sanwiches, but they are super tasty.

Called in for a sandwich whilst in Wakefield town centre. Sandwich was good but side salad was a bit sparse and dry with very little other than lettuce. Could be better without trying too hard

This was my first visit to this café. Was impressed with the quirky interior and the friendliness of the staff. The food selection is just right, not too much choice. I thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich with trimmings. The tea comes in large teapots, overall this is a lovely place to eat and reasonably priced

First visit to this fairly new cafe. First impressions very good quite a stark interior but classy. Ordered coffees & toasted teacake all delicious. Friendly staff. All the food on offer looked good. Quiet Friday -morning but I imagine lunch-times are busy. Nice addition to Wakefield's cafe culture.

Lovely cafe, been here a few times for lunch with my little boy. They are absolutely fantastic with children, very friendly and welcoming with my 1 year old. Food is always nice and desserts are fantastic. Always very relaxing.

Working in Wakefield all week means I struggle to find variation at lunchtimes, this lovely charming places serves freshly made sandwiches and salads. The salads have as much meat as lettuce which makes a nice change as well!

A lovely new cafe/deli which has the most gorgeous food in gorgeous surroundings. This place is a sheer delight to eat in and definite welcome addition to the cafe scene in Wakefield. I will certainly looking forward to enjoying many more visits to this wonderfully chic cafe.
