We ordered via telephone. Came home and found the food to be really old and a really odd bitter dry taste to the starters. The meat tasted off and the way it was made in to small pieces seemed to be left over food which had been reheated. I know the restaurant will not admit to this and unfortunately I can only share my honest experience and knowledge about food. We Come here quite regularly and extremely disappointed. I would never leave a negative review but this seems wrong and hopefully this review will put things right.

Food was lovely... service was nice... ordered chicken and lamb combo. Chicken was OK but lamb was exceptional...had to order pickles separately for 6 quid and it was more than needed... would have been nice if some pickle was included with the mains.. rest everything was super tasty.

Perfect as usual. It would be great if they can bring complementary Turkish tea back.

Stopped in for a quick evening meal with friends, knowing full well that the quality and consistency would be as it ever is. Mr. Mangal maintains it's excellence because every bit of prep and cooking is overseen by people passionate about their restaurant. It genuinely feels like you're visiting family or friends and they are cooking up a storm for you! It's a great place to come if you are hungry and want to keep things a little informal as often the desire to just reach in and attack things with your hands is just overwhelming. It's a wonderful little restaurant and one of the must-trys in the city. You seldom see such passion and dedication in chain restaurants!

Great food, had an amazing grilled sea bass. Staff is super friendly and service is on point.

It is the best Turkish restaurant in the city with respect to the taste of food, ambience and service. The owner is always working there himself, further showing how professional they are.

Lovlely people and very good food...been eating here since it opened, a few years now ,and it is as good now as it was on day one....love it.

Food was nice but felt they are bit overpriced comparing to the size of portion. Service was ok, atmosphere did not feel like £25 per person without Alcohol. I am sure they are competitive and done local market research for pricing and food portion sizing.

Really sweet servers who were very patient as we picked out what we wanted ( we were unsure and took a while). They even made recommendations which were absolutely delicious! Cocktails were yummy too!

As a field service engineer I travel all around the UK. This is the best Turkish Restaurant I have experienced till now. I had 3 different meals so far, all of them were just delicious. You can have such good kebabs in the good restaurants in Turkey and here..

Everything is great - the food is delicious, and the portions are large. The service is excellent. The toilet is not very clean and smells of mold. In general, I liked everything, except for visiting the toilet.

The food is really nice but the prices are so expensive, the prices have definitely gone up it’s made us go there much less. The toilets are awful. The price you pay for food, you expect clean nice toilets. Looking outside the window, it’s just bins and it’s not a very nice area. I payed £19.90 for chicken shish.

This is a great restaurant with fab food and excellent service. The prices are unbelievable - like the hot starter selection for 4 people just £22. For me the only problem is location - if I could walk here from my house it would be perfect. Seriously speaking though, the location isn't ideal and the walk from the nearby car park not the nicest. But get through the door and it's fantastic. Try lamb sis cooked on charcoal.

Probably the best Turkish restaurant in Norwich in regards to the quality of food etc

The food is brilliant: fluffy rice that isn’t dry or wet, succulent chicken and lamb cooked on point. The meze is delicious and the bread was unique and so tasty. I don’t regret paying £20 for a singular meal. One thing i’d improve is the hummus and yoghurt sauce (i think it’s tzatziki), it could be more refined flavour wise. The garlic mayo was unreal though, i couldn’t tell it was mayo and it tasted so good. The veggie options don’t seem worth it here though. I try not to eat meat but i chose the meat because it’s the same price, so why would i spend £20 on a vegetable only dish? There definitely could’ve put more effort in these dishes to make them a more nutritionally complete veggie meal. Id suggest you avoid it if you’re a veggie, this place is definitely tailored to meat eaters. Also toilet could have definitely been a lot cleaner. Honestly i’d give this a 4.7/5 if i could give a more precise rating.

The best Turkish food in Norwich.

I love this place. The only thing it can improve it's changes on the menu. For years and years it's always the same food. No variation.

Meat eaters will love the smoky, juicy lumps of lamb and chicken. There are good vegetarian options too - try the moussaka. Always a pleasure.

We had our first meal there last night for my sons 18th . Food was amazing very clean restaurant. They even gave him a little pudding with candle in everyone sung and clapped .Bill was very reasonable for 6 will definitely return .

Authentic Turkish food with a homely feel and generous portions at accessible pricing.

It's a Turkish restaurant. I ordered lamb liver, Adana kebab and lamb rib. Lamb rib was fatty. My last experiences were so better, I mean less fat and more meat in rib dishes. It was 3 star dish. Adana kebab was reasonable, not excellent not bad! It was 4 star Lamb liver was fried in oil in small pieces. If they cook it in bigger pieces and on indirect fire, it could be more delicious and also healthy. It was 3 star. Service was 4 star with standby and skilled personnel. I will try it more in future.

My family and I love this restaurant. They serve good food for a good price. They are lovely people too.

Went here last night around 8pm- the food was delicious! Definitely recommend. I had chicken and lamb kebab and my husband had minced lamb kebab. Both came with rice, bulgar wheat and salad plus they brought a basket of warm flat bread and dips to the table at no extra charge. It was all fresh, tasty and good portions. We had one drink each and bill was just over £44

The food was amazing and the waitress was so lovely however the atmosphere and the good mood was ruined by their toilet cleaner! We stayed in the restaurant eating the great food till late and I had to go to toilet when the cleaner( with black hair) was cleaning and she gave me very dirty and angry looks and muttered something inaudible under her breath! Another angry and dirty look on the way out as well! If she isn't happy with the job she is in, then why not find something else! Why do you hire someone so negative in a great place like yours?? I am not happy to put up with an attitude like this and now have no desire to return there!! Managers, please look at this !

Heard many good things but never visited until last weekend. We booked for a Friday evening. Restaurant was nice and busy with a great atmosphere. Drinks and starters ordered promptly. Mains ordered and arrived lovely and hot and tasted really good. Had to remind the waitress we hadn’t received the water for the table which we ordered at the start but that was soon brought over. Price is very good value and worth every penny.

Very disappointed , food was tasty and fresh but really pricey and expensive without any complimentary salad , pickles and bread like other Turkish restaurants Price like 5 star hotel but service was so poor . Toilets was so strange ng without any privacy We was family of 5 and We order 2 meal from kids menu they bring our food with long delay but they forget to bring kids meal . Not professional staff . Definitely we don’t come back again

Really lovely Turkish restaurant. I had the veggie option and it was very nice. Bread and the dips as a free starter were delicious.

The food is really nice here. They give complementary bread which is delicious. However, they were not able to give space to pray when Salaah time came and there's music in the background. Also, if the restaurant is busy, it is not that comfortable if you're dining with family as the tables are very close together and maybe could do with partitions? Other than that, the staff are nice people and I am appreciative of their service! Also, there is parking behind the restaurant which is a plus.

Tasty food and great service in this Norwich Turkish restaurant. In a city with a great food scene, with several exceptional Turkish places, this place is among the best and is quite popular. Having tried them, I can say I understand why. The kebab I had was glorious, as were all the other dishes. The kids' menu and the sides were all very tasty. The service was exceptional too: the waitress asked if we were celebrating anything (you don't have this at every restaurant) and when we said it was our son's birthday, they brought out a baklava with a candle and sang Happy Birthday for him. This was a pleasant surprise and a really nice touch from the restaurant.

I realy liked a lot of it and the food was overall good however a word of advice for anyone looking to get food from here is that the calamari was in my opinion ludicrously expensive for the amount given £7.90 for only THREE average sized rings of calamari is crazy and definitely not worth it even as a starter especially when compared with alot of the other stuff offered like the soup ect which was both very nice and reasonably portioned

Mr Mangal has nice food but we had worst experience of service from the lady who was serving, she was so impolite and unprofessional. She misbehaved right from the beginning until I had to ask the restaurant to keep her away from our table. I dont know the name of this lady but she was doing table service on 8th oct 2023 ( one of the two staff persons ) . Would never go back to Mr Mangal with such a pathetic service. Food is nice but i guess most of turkish restaurants have nice food anyways.

Lovely meal, atmosphere, good service but way too expensive

The worst restaurant I ever been. I was there with few my friends. The order was taken after 15 min of waiting. The food witch should be first on the table for sharing it was coming wast it was one small ball salad and two sauce for 8 people radicalise! When I ask for one extra spicy, they give me tomato pure 😒😞 You have ordered 4 soups, and same starter. So they coming after 50 minutes. The waiter blonde was unfriendly and she say it’s busy . Really at 16:00. After this 50 min they say then don’t have one of the soups. This is not acceptable if you don’t have you need to tell of the beginner!!! She was forget one of the food as well, should be maybe another 50 min, so you not ordered again. Not sorry, not discount for this radicalise service. Never going there!!! 👎👎👎

Group booking, 9 of us in total. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived. The service was excellent and all dishes arrived at our table together. I had the chicken & lamb combo. Delicious!
