We discovered Jorge's bt accident. We were looking for somewheere to eat and saw the sign in an alleyway. The menu looked good an it didn't look crowded; midweek and drizzling. The menu was very interesting and we decided on items from the tapas section. The server was very attentive. First time for a Portugese wine; it was excellent and reasonably priced. The food arrived in a timely manner and was well presented. It was also very tasty. A very realxing meal without any pressure to leave.

This restaurant is easy to book online and booking is advisable as it has quite a small interior and is very popular. There is also some outside seating. We had a lunch comprising of small plates, all of which were excellent. It is not the cheapest place in town but the quality is excellent. As are the staff.

Tiny friendly restaurant. Really delicious food. We had sea bass ceviche, wild mushrooms and a sharing platter of steak, peel and prawns . All fantastic. Puddings were amazing too. Very attentive service.

New to Norwich, we rather stumbled upon Jorges Restaurant, but so glad we did. It's really worth it; lovely atmosphere, attentive service, and the food. Both the tuna ceviche & the Argentinian ribeye steaks were excellent. This is a class act. Don't miss it!

Must admit we weren't sure what to expect never having been to a Portuguese restaurant before. We were warmly welcomed by the host as we arrived and quickly shown to our table. The service here is exceptional with plenty of staff all keeping an eye on you and ready to help as needed. We had steaks and a surf and turf. The food was excellent with the steaks cooked to perfection and very tender. The Surf & Turf came with a giant Tiger Prawn which was almost like a lobster, really tasty and delicious. I highly recommend Jorge's and will certainly visit again when we return to Norwich

I'm annoyed I have to write this as I was quite looking forward to trying the food here. Had never heard of this place until I saw an article saying it was closing so thought we should go and give it a look before it's gone. Popped in at about quarter past 1 and were told there'd be a half hour wait before any food orders would be taken. Asked again after half an hour only to be told 5 more mins and then after asking another couple of times after waiting more, got nowhere. Eventually saw someone else come in and go straight up to order so went up again, only to be told that what we wanted to order had just run out because of that previous person. No one had told us that we could then order so if we hadn't spotted that person we may have been waiting even longer. In the end we left at quarter past 2 and therefore had basically wasted an hour getting nowhere.

I do not recommend this place under any circumstances. Worst experience ever, came in today to eat something. (I'm a wheelchair user), asked the waiter if they had a table, he answered "yes" and led me to the table, asked if I needed someone to come and take my order, I told "yes if possible", he left and told me that someone would come in a minute, gave me a menu. I waited 50 minutes! People who arrived after me sat at the next table, ordered food, got food, ate food, and sat and had conversations, and I was still waiting for someone to take my order. 1 of the waitresses passed by and said "I'll be in a minute", but never came to me. After 50 minutes I came to the counter and asked "What is going on how long should I wait"? Same waiter told me "Oh nobody came to you, I'm sorry, do you still want to order something or do you want to leave". This is not what I call good service. This is a nightmare. I see people praising the food, maybe it's good, but I don't know, had no chance to try it. So, if you're a wheelchair user, I don't recommend going to this place, you'll likely be ignored and after 50 minutes will be asked to leave. They have 2 separate premises, the Tasca and the restaurant, Tasca is stated as accessible, and this is true. It is stated that Restaurant has "wheelchair-accessible seating", but there is no mention the wheelchair-accessible seating is outside, with tables literally in the arch on the street. So, Restaurants aren't wheelchair friendly. and not accessible. They can probably bring your order on the street to put it on the table, and you'll eat it outside in the cold (in winter). Worst service if you're a wheelchair user. You can't get in the restaurant. But can get into the Tasca where you'll very likely be ignored.

Arrived slightly early but were seated straight away on a Thursday evening. We did book in advance but restaurant was quiet so probably wasn’t required. The venue was done out lovely and the toilet was nice and clean. Food came nice and quickly after ordering. Food was overall very tasty, we ordered 7 tapas between the two of us which was a good amount if not slightly too much. I would recommend the tiger prawns, arroz con tomate, guacamole and batatas fritas all of which were very tasty. We order the ‘Pica-Pau’ fillet steak which was quite disappointing at just over £9. There wasn’t much meat and the steak pieces were tough and dry (definitely didn’t taste like fillet!) although the sauce it was in was tasty. The garlic mushrooms were also very tasty but a bit too salty for our taste. Finally we had the chorizo jam, cheese and crackers which was a bit too sweet for my taste but my partner enjoyed them. Drinks were quite expensive with a small 330ml bottle of beer (Superbock) costing £4.20. We instead opted for the Norfolk Wherry which was a better deal. Very attentive and lovely waitress who did a fantastic job! As another small side note our table had a light stood next to it which was a bit too bright as it was so close and in our faces. So a couple of small notes but overall a great meal that we’d recommend.

As with any restaurant the food was very good. My ribs were tasty if a little dry, the squid and prawns were lovely. The Padrone peppers were juicy and the breads and cheeses lovely. But this is meant to be a tapas bar, the place looks like a swish restaurant and has no real atmosphere. On the night we ate we added an extra client ( 4 to 5 people ) but they refused to give us another table, just squeezed us all onto two small tables. The point of tapas is to share and have fun, there was little room for all the glasses and plates, let alone the food, the servers had real difficulty getting it all on to the table. Our first server ( one of many) mumbled, none of us could understood what she was talking about half the time so we sat and hoped for the best. First we were told there were no cocktails ! 6pm on a Friday night and no cocktails ? No reason given, but this is silly. Ok so we had a few standard drinks and got a bottle of wine. The food came as ordered, pretty good. Then we get to dessert, our next server tells us the trio is not available just the custard tart, ok we will have the custard tart. I ordered a coffee only to be told they don’t do coffee, the hot drinks are apparently from a concession stand in the corner which does not open in the evenings. Are you telling me that you can’t afford a Nespresso ? ( not the best coffee but better than nothing ). Two of our party had ordered another glass of wine, it never turned up and as the “desserts” had arrived we said forget them ! To be honest there are problems here, the atmosphere and vibe is not tapas bar, it needs more fun, more light etc, but even that doesn’t come close to what seems like poor management. The staff need training better ( we had one server who was Portuguese and she was brilliant, the rest were not good ), and the whole thing needs looking at to give the place more atmosphere. Food : good. Experience : leaves a lot to be desired. Not tempted to return after hearing so many good things. Perhaps the restaurant does better ?

Very last minute booking and surprised at having a choice of available times at such short notice on a Saturday night. Mistakenly went to the ‘main’ restaurant first (which looked amazing and was very busy and atmospheric) but told that we were actually booked into the ‘bistro’ next door. This was VERY different and was only a third full and lacked atmosphere. Service started slowly and the menu is very limited for a tapas bar, but ALEXANDRA soon changed the experience. She was attentive, professional and personable and brought the evening around. Slightly strange that the kitchen closed at just after 8pm, but on reflection understandable given that the venue is far more of a holding space for the main restaurant. Decent meal, but next time we will ensure to book the main site. Would have been just about a four star review, but Alexandra was worthy of the maximum rating.

If you try anything as Jorge's Tasca, for goodness sakes have the Pastel de Nata! We visited for dinner and received such lovely warm, attentive service from a young waitress with glasses and long dark hair. Didn't catch her name but she was an absolute gem. Super friendly and helpful. The food was nice, portions a little small. Parts of the dishes were a little disappointing (chicken thighs were quite dry) but the seitan skewers were delicious. You could tell a lot of time and effort had gone into the food but it wasn't quite polished yet, and we're no experts! That being said, the Pastel de Nata absolutely blew us away. Super vanilla-y (if that's even a word), crispy and downright divine. I'd come back time and time again just for one of those

A bit lacking in atmosphere, feels more cafe than tapas bar or restaurant. Music added a little but eventually stopped leaving the place feeling quite soulless. Service was just ok. Didn’t have our first choice of wine in stock and staff had no clue about the wines on offer or indeed the food they were serving. No chance to sample the wine before pouring it all out, no explanations of any of the dishes as they arrived, they were just plonked down. I would rate the food overall as average overall and on the pricey side. Was left feeling the whole experience was very meh and that I’d not return or recommend the place to anyone else.

Loved the food, it was delicious. It totally would have had 5 stars if the service had of been a bit faster. The girl who served us was lovely but she was the only one out of 6 or 7 staff I saw actually doing anything while others stood around doing nothing. I waited over 15 minutes for a drink while staff stood chatting. We would eat here again, however making sure we allow enough time to be served. Don't go if you are in a rush! Nicest looking loos in Norwich!

Lovely tapas place in a glass fronted building. The place is filled with plants and different types of seating from sofas to tables. We had cocktails (the Cucaracha was fantastic) and tapas - several plates of sea food, meat, olives etc. The food is top notch and the front of house folk very welcoming. Recommend you try this one!

Came here because they are in The Yard and I love the space and the vibe they have whenever we have had coffee and felt like if this restaurant was linked we would get the same type of service. Unfortunately this was not the case!! The food was good, nothing spectacular but for the price point it was not worth it! We came for lunch but this wasn't served until 2pm which seems ridiculous - the brunch menu had an ok selection but you don't always want eggs as every choice in the afternoon. We waited to order and again the staff were nice enough but non of them were having a nice time or looked like they were happy to be there. We understood why when someone who gave the air of being the owner came in. He looked incredibly angry and seemed to have a word with his staff that came across very angry like he was having a go at them. I understand this is one of those things in hospitality but this was quite intense and all the staff seemed even more beat down afterwards. The one star I have left are for them as someone that has worked in the hospitality industry for years this was really sad to see still happening! I never leave reviews but I felt like I should on this regard as I am not accepting of treating people the way he did. We were the only ones I could see that day eating so there shouldn't have been any reason for stress or aggravation and it just ruined the atmosphere.

A fantastic place to eat and share the delights of Portuguese street food. All the dishes were so full of flavour, I don't think I've looked at a menu and thought "I could eat all of it" I need to return to have the rest I didn't get to try. A must is the Octopus and the Pica-Pau steak. The atmosphere was great too. Beautiful lighting and a real sociable vibe to it. Dishes were between £5 and £12 (Octopus) with a side of fries £3.50. The portion sizes were great for tapas style too. I had 5 dishes and they were adequate to make me feel comfortable. A tip, the Chorizo jam, Cheese and crackers - I saved mine until the end and it made a great pudding alternative. Lovely staff, always get a warm welcome from Jorge even though he's busy. The 2 servers were friendly and informative about the dishes too.

I ordered food to go from Go Bifanas (the coffee shop part is amazing, no issues there!), and as we had a 30 minute wait, I took the time to go for a walk around Norwich City as I hadn't really explored the city before. I went to go to pick up the food at the designated time, and a member of staff who had the food in the bag asked "did I order the food inside or outside the building?". I was incredibly confused, and explained I was sat at Table 4 and then we went for a walk. I was then told "I'm incredibly lucky the restaurant even accepted the order". Again, I was confused by the comment. I'd like to add I was accosted by a member of staff and they still held my order. The service was pretty rude and the staff member made me feel quite terrible. So safe to say, the food is good but I won't ever be coming back here again. Which is a shame as we were having a such a nice day visiting.

Food and atmosphere is great and there are quite a few options on the menu when it comes to Meze, but tables are a little too close together. Whilst serving another table I got the bum of the waitress in my face which wasn't a nice experience and it all felt very claustrophobic. Chairs and tables are also quite uncomfortable too and it does feel at times that the staff rush you to leave before the time on your table is up. However, very good Turkish food.

Stopped in for a quick evening meal with friends, knowing full well that the quality and consistency would be as it ever is. Mr. Mangal maintains it's excellence because every bit of prep and cooking is overseen by people passionate about their restaurant. It genuinely feels like you're visiting family or friends and they are cooking up a storm for you! It's a great place to come if you are hungry and want to keep things a little informal as often the desire to just reach in and attack things with your hands is just overwhelming. It's a wonderful little restaurant and one of the must-trys in the city. You seldom see such passion and dedication in chain restaurants!

Visited at the end of July quite late with around 16 people after church service. Extremely accommodating and moved tables around for us. Very friendly and joined in with the laughs and jokes. Food was fresh and amazing ! Would 100% return Only thing I would say is the smoking outside is too close to the door and had to put a blanket over my pushchair however , it wouldn't stop me coming again
