Best about, go try it 100% recommend

I'd highly recommend. The fish was golden brown, the chips were fresh and not soggy. The mushy peas were exceptional. I'd certainly recommend Mr Fish if you've not been before.

Really disappointed, last order with Mr Fish. We have gone to Mr Fish for years, The service and food quality used to be of a high standard. Our last 3 orders over a few months have been terrible, the staff are not friendly anymore, the chips are undercooked, pale white and most of them hard inside, the fish is of a better standard but not good by any means. The staff on shift our last few visits have been rude and when calling to discuss the quality of food I was met with attitude and spoken to rudely again. Unfortunately we will be following in out friends foot steps and will not be using MR Fish anymore as it’s a waste of money.

Great chips and curry sauce. Will be back for a battered sausage.

Always a friendly atmosphere, staff polite. Food cooked while you wait which if you're in a rush doesn't help. At least you know it's cooked fresh not been standing in the warmer. You can always order ahead over the phone if in a rush.

After trying other fish and chip shops on our holiday we now know we have been spoilt by Mr Fish. Have had fish and chips here too many times to mention. Medium cod always delicious, yes prices have gone up but the quality is so much better than other places we have visited recently. Tasty fish cake, cod roe, haddock. Chips delicious. Staff always helpful and friendly. Establishment always clean and well staffed. Even better if you had onion rings on your menu. Thank you.

Best chips I've ever had! Fresh, not greesy and perfectly cooked. The ribs are to die for, if you love ribs, this is the place to go.

Perhaps in future when on holiday you could update your Facebook page and also put a voicemail advising you are on vacation…travelled to see parents in Galleywood over an hour away with no warning you were not open.

Just bought 2 medium cod supposedly. More batter than fish. The length doesn't mean its medium the fish was like a biscuit when you found it . Make you pay for a large chips so you can't share a medium the curry sauce was nice but the saveloy was dry as if it had been there all day won't be using them again.

The food has always been nice but the price is getting silly! £3.50 for a portion of small takeaway chips!? The price has nearly doubled in the last 3 years

I tried this fish shop last night after reading the reviews and finding it increasingly hard to find a decent shop. This did not disappoint the food was lovely and hot and very tasty. I live the the other side of town but will definitely use again. I would also recommend it to others looking for good food at a fair price. Staff are also friendly

Great food. Fresh. Friendly service. Clean premises. Easy and ample parking. The best fish and chips in Chelmsford so far however, on my last visit the medium and large cod were the same size/weight whilst the price was not. Will definitely go again but will watch as they wrap it next time.

Very clean and smart premises, staff offhand, chips were barely warm and undercooked, roe was cooked to order, again undercooked...could eat it with a spoon. Pricey to boot, won't go there again in a hurry 🤨

Sometimes good sometimes bad skate wing very dry and tasteless.

Have regularly had chicken from there, in recent weeks it’s been inedible despite the high price, won’t buy there again.

Always been a really good chip shop, used to use it before they moved too, went there tonight for some ribs, politely called across the counter to ask if there were any more ribs and the reply I got told me he didn't care if I was a customer or not, won't be going back, plenty of other greasy chippies about.

Love this chip shop! I would say the best in Chelmsford, miles better than the other local one in Moulsham Lodge, we regularly use Mr Fish, the food is cooked to order (you can ring your order in), the staff are really friendly, never had a problem with the food or service offered, I would 100% recommend Mr Fish at Galleywood.

Drove to Galleywood Common for some fresh air and got hungry. A quick google led us to Mr. Fish. They were just closing but were happy to serve me. Best chips I've had in a long time and they even threw in 2 small bits of Cod for free that I presume were going to go to waste. Would highly recommend Mr. Fish

Placed large order of fish and chips for my mums funeral wake as,she loved her weekly fish and chips. Staff very accomodating and came in early to make sure it was,all ready for collection. Food was piping hot and all guests remarked on how tasty it was. Cant recommend them all at Mr Fish highly enough and wish to thank them all for everything they did for us on the day.

I’m Pretty Impressed!!! So I visited this place yesterday evening to grab some food and I must say that I was pretty impressed with how clean and tidy the place looks, food looked fresh and with a good verity of products. Chips where nice and fresh, large cod was lightly buttered and crispy, the ribs were delicious too. Attentive and friendly staff with a good level of professionalism, great food and perhaps one of if not the cleanest fish and chips takeaways I’ve been to in this town. Well done to this house. Definitely recommend and most definitely be back.

Best Fish and Chips for miles and miles around, no question and no competition. Everything completely fresh, large portions and good prices. Efficient and friendly staff. The queues out of the door give you a clue how good it is, but they manage the orders very well. I know people who drive from as far as Danbury, Billericay, Writtle and Hutton to use it!! That says something.

Mr Fish is a lovely chip shop! I have been coming here for the last 3 years and have never been disappointed. Came in on Saturday evening. The shop was very busy, but definitely worth the wait. Ordered some Skate and Haddock, it went down a treat! Staff are always friendly and always exceed our expectations compared to other Chip shop we have been to in the area! Mr Fish, Keep doing what you do best, cooking lovely fish and chips !

I travel to this fish shop as it is by far the best, I have never had a bad meal from here. The cleanliness of the shop is the best I've seen in a local takeaway. The staff are nothing but helpful and efficient, look forward to seeing you all again soon.
