Cold dry kebab no salad for nearly £8. Surely costs more in fuel to grill chicken until its like straw. Chicken wrap not too bad less dry. Inhouse wait times for anything takes far too long and one staff member coughing over the counter without a care in the world

Chips,curry sauce, beans and jumbo sausage are all 10/10. Amazing. Only thing is if you order later on you get a lot of small chips but still good

Ordered a Kabab The bread was stone cold as if it had just come out of the fridge. The salad did not look fresh and the kebab was just thrown together....it was a real mess and it did not taste any better .. It was Nasty. This is such a shame as a few weeks ago I bought the same and it was superb .a gentleman served me then and the kabab was presented beautifully..really yummy. What a let down.

Terrible food, fish and chips gave me awful food poisoning for about 2 days.

Very disappointed. We visited this shop and ordered our food in person. It took almost 30mins for three portions of fish and chips. There are much better take aways within 5-10mins. Their excuse that Friday is their busiest night on Uber Eats doesn't cut it. Sorry

There is a wide variety of options. The service is good, the options are varied and the food is consistently nice. There may not be anything special but they consistently offer good value and nice food well cooked. A good takeaway option.

Food wasn't very nice , sauage in batter was hard and chips wasn't much better 😌 disappointed

So poor now. Fish and chips dripping in oil when you get them home. Chips looked partly cooked with no colour. Two women in the evening now seem to serve it this way and really miserable when you go in. Kebab quality really not as good as used to be. Was much better previously when the man, his sons and wife were there in the evenings. Would rather go elsewhere at the moment despite being so close to here. A real shame

Shocking!!! AVOID AT ALL COST. If there was a zero star then i'd give it a zero as one star is too much for this shocking place. If you want to have chips with your meal then avoid as you barely get any with your meal. But if you want to sit for 30 mins waiting for your food then this is the place to go. There's lots of shocking takeaway places in Northampton but this has to be the worst. AVOID.

My son had a child's chicken nugget meal and and few hours after had very bad diarrhoea and was very fatigued after. Also when me and my friend ordered from there they purposely got the order wrong and added hot sauce to a kebab. Would not recommend this place at

First time ordered from Mr chippy and I am very happy with my purchase. Generous sizes , with an extra cod ontop of my large cod. We were over the moon. Fish cakes were brilliant too. Well done Mr chippy

EDIT Apparently now under new ownership. Ordered a mixed donner meat and chips via deliveroo, and it was revolting. Meat had an odd smell, was full of gristle, and a horrible texture, more like putty than meat. Far too much sauce, probably to disguise the nasty meat. Gherkins were also the smallest I've ever seen from a UK chippy. Won't be eating from here ever again.

Never answer the phone shocking service

Ordered no end of times from these and they've always been spot on. Just lately however, half the stuff is wrong or missing from the meals. All they have to do is read the order and call the number if they aren't sure... Its not hard. Shame as the food is good

The quality of their chicken is good but the flavouring they use makes you experience weird cravings the day after and this did not just happen once but many times. Chips were good. Customer Service was quite poor. Reasonable prices. Portion sizes were good. Surrounding area is a dump with crack heads scuttling around the place. Parking was ok. Wait times are a joke. No ventilation Inside the shop so prepare to choke if you're a walk in.

Needs to be reported to the health standards agency. 100% this place is going to kill someone, should not be open.

Never ordered from here until now and will not be ordering from here again that's for sure! The curry sauce was the same consistency as water! And 3/4s of the way through eating I also noticed a hair in my food which then put me of and could not finish the rest. Not happy at all to wait well over and hour for our food to turn up and this is what we receive!!! And to top it all of it was cold!

Was very good when it reopened as Mr Chips IV but suffered when the staff changed. As Mr Chippy it has not improved. The food is cooked while you wait which unfortunately means a longish wait then fryed far too fast. You do get a generous portions for your money but I go elsewhere now.

Will never order from again. Order turned up with no chips, they didn't see a problem with this. Was told they will give me the money of my next order. I said to them that we needed the chips to go with the rest of the food and to feed people. He then started getting funny saying it will come off next order. We asked for them to be delivered now. He said be an hour. When we said it should be sooner as there error he hung up! We could off got funny with them but didnt decided to give them the benefit of the doughy. 1 hour and 25 mins later and no chips have been delivered! Tried ringing and no1 is answering even tried on another phone. Now been charged for this order and had to order form elsewhere. Will not be ordering from again, staff are very rude and unhelpful when it was there error

Have used Mr Chippy many times, and always enjoyed their products. Tonight's meal was the poorest I've ever had, although the fish was nice, the batter and chips were well below their standard. Usually the batter would be light and crispy with the chips long, hot and fleshy. The batter was heavy and greasy, with chips short and thin. It's a pity, as usually this is a quality fish and chips shop, but I would have to consider trying another place unless the quality returned to their previous standard. Hope it does soon.

Point blank awful!!! Ordered a meal to be delivered, quoted 45 minutes... Took an hour and 10 minutes to arrive. Chips were one clump of soggy fried potato mess. Curry sauce was basically curry flavoured water. And to top it all off, from the BURGER SECTION of the menu I ordered a DONNER BURGER, all the salad and chilli sauce on the side please... A rabbit on a diet would have had more salad, the chilli sauce was in the bun AND, wait for it... There was NO BURGER! Just a seeded burger bun with donner meat, NO BURGER! Now, forgive me for being old fashioned, but when I order from a BURGER MENU, I'd quite like to receive BURGER! Did I mention there was no BURGER in my DONNER BURGER!? You get the message. Avoid!

Ordered two chicken burger meals, got home to find beef burgers, rang them, the guy argued with me about what I ordered, had to go back to the shop to change them, the guy and another (even though he wasnt there when I ordered) continued to argue that I ordered a burger meal and not specified it to be chicken! That I saw him put the beef burgers on to cook and said nothing (although he was making other meals up for delivery) and was told I was lying! Ended up getting a refund and going else where whilst taking the wrong order back (Not on their say so as they wanted it back for the refund) and dumping in the bin as chips were awful anyway.

Just moved into the area and pleased to find the local chip shop is delicious and also has a 5 Star hygiene rating! Brilliant! :)

Had one bite of the pizza the dough was stale and hard like it was over cooked and tasted like it was old dough. I worked in a pizza shop for over 10years and I wouldn’t serve any customer the food I received. My fault for trying somewhere cheap!!!! Got recommended by a friend but never again I wound never recommend this place

They gave me the wrong order twice, when I went back and told them, they said there wasn't anything they could do. In what world does chips and cheese sound like fish and chips? Absolutely awful, would not reccomend to anyone

Excellent service and friendly family run bussiness. Loved their peri peri chicken, donor kebabs and luxury soft naan. The fish is extremely tasty, best I had for a long time. Portion sizes are extremely generous. Thank you Mr Chippy for an excellent meal.

We have used this chippy a few times on a friday evening on the way home. Very friendly staff and my teenager has said he loves it.

Its my local chippy. Got to know the staff and they are pleasant and efficient. Food is normally cooked to order which i prefer so there is some wait. They also do piri piri chicken which is very nice.

Use to be good but terrible now, always get an upset stomach after eating their, this time I have been bed bound as the staff passed on the flu to me, watch them, they happily blow their nose without washing hands, uniforms are dirty, They seem to think the hot lamps are for show so food is always cold and reused rather than thrown away at the end of the day.

It was a great place but is now replaced with Mr chippy, a different company and I think the quality of chips has gone down, and prices gone up
