Mr Chippy in Northampton

We have had a few different meals from here and always good quality and friendly staff

Since I move here from London I was missing my local kebab shop from there , today I have visited Mr. Chippy for a first time and I’m so pleased 🤗 that will be my new local fav kebab shop 🤗

Good value take away. Great choice, tasty food and generous portions.

Personally find this shop the best kebab place around, fish & chips are also great.

The worst kebab in my life, how could you put meat on fries and salad and put it in a package and it would steam up, it's a disaster, I'm surprised at the people who give 5 or 4 stars, these people have never left the city, especially the UK, if you tried a kebab in Berlin you would go crazy Well, bon appetit, I won't go back there if I had to eat there for free, that's all, never again.

Very good fish and chips. But CASH ONLY place says it all.....

We used to live close by and for the past 15 year was our favourite place. But recent visits give us a food poisoning….😟. Standard has been drop end in last few months. Shame as was one of the best in town.

Unfortunately Mr chippy has gone downhill, in my opinion. They have raised the prices but reduced the chip portion at the same time. No delivery, and you must pay by cash.

Food is fab! Never disappoints. Always busy!!! but one thing I would say is that if you can pick it up do so, delivery tends to turn up cold.

Was horrible dry and didn’t even taste like lamb, girls serving were patronising, The lovely Indian lady wasn’t there, won’t be going again

We regularly have a 'Mr Chippy evening'. The portions are HUGE!!! The food is great quality and all the guys int the shop are awesome. Last night we had a large chips, curry sauce, I had the Chicken Shish, hubby had fish and our son had a massive burger with just about everything in it!!! The only slight criticism is the mushy peas are quite runny and not many peas but that's only a very small picky thing in an otherwise great meal.

We asked for a regular chicken donor kebab and the guy didn't listen and he gave me it in a wrap and said he also write down wrap when we didn't ask for that and just laughed in my face how rude

I’ve been looking for a decent kebab since moving to Northampton, and I can honestly say that after trying several, Mr Chippy is the best. Excellent size portion with a delicious salad…loved the pickled red cabbage. I can now stop looking as this is my go to for Kebabs. Only disappointment was they only accept cash so I had to drive down the road to a cash point that worked, then return to collect my order.

Very rarely get to go to Mr Chippy as I now live on the other side of town. Whenever passing I try and pop in. Over 20 years I've been going to this shop and it's always great. I was a little short on cash today so changed my order. Lovely people behind the counter still gave me what I ordered originally. Great service, fresh hot food and consistent.

The food it’s self is great. However there alsways seems to be an issue when you order such as sometime missing sauce you asked for or if you ask for a custom order like a kebab with no onions they still put onions in it, the price is great and nothing to complain about but like most places like this service times could take a

Nice food, always hot and fresh

We used to get our F&C & kebabs from here all the time. But when we moved to the other side of town, we tend to visit them lesser. Love the food here! Always the best F&C & Kebabs! We visited them 4 days ago & realized that from the 20 years we've been in Northampton, their standard has not dropped. Always busy in there but the food is always fresh & service is always quick. It can get quite crowded in the shop though, but it's worth it.

The special mixed kebab is life changing....plenty of chips, proper battered onion rings...and not bank busting if you visit.

Good chips and sausages & it's closes at 11pm

Always good. Get chatty with the staff and they will see you alright.

Good little chippy nice curry and chips

I had a takeaway last night, I was really looking forward to a cheese burger. But the bottom was so soggy it went straight to the bin. I spent £16.50 altogether and honestly was not worth it at all.

Overall good experience, traditional Turkish style kebab shop. I would stick to the kebabs if you are ordering food here. Kebabs are good, but I wouldn't recommend the fish. Average battered fish, doesn't compare to a typical fish and chip shop unfortunately, the batter is very bland and tasteless.

Often order from here via UberEats, it’s always very good, the food is tasty and its the perfect temperature, the portions are decent too!! Highly recommend :)

Best place in town for a doner kebab or shish kebab + others and fish & chips and very friendly staff, try it, you won't be disappointed.

Worse service and kebab I’ve ever seen wouldn’t feed to a dog greasy just vile No extra pita lamb taste like kidney chicken completely over cooked

First time I went in kebab was excellent. Second time I went in .I told the guys to put me only chicken on the kebab not salad. When I arrived home I had salad which I didn't want . Sometimes it looks like they put more salads on the kebabs than meat. So you get a salad kebab instead of meat and salad. I'm a bit disappointed . Is not the best kebeb but iv seen worst.

Truly disappointed with the service today, asked for 2 large battered sausages, got given 3 small ones with nothing being said to me about this! When I break one in half I see they’re burnt through and wouldn’t even feed to my dog

I've been using their services for more than 15 yrs and the food is great. A wide variety to choose from and big portions too. No one does chips like these guys.

Chicken Kebabs are out of this worldand at a good price too...Regular Customer...

Quick service, not greasy and HUGE portions. 1 large chips is enough to feed 2 adults & 2 hungry children.

Have been using them for years.but have put a new system in an got my order wrong,which I did not find out till I got home. But will use again to make sure it was a one off.

The order took a long time, we ended up with stomach aches. I'm afraid we won't be returning.

I think one of the best chippys in Northampton, great kebabs, especially the lamb shish and really good size fish! The pricing is really good and I'm a a regular customer; there's never been a need to try anywhere else!

My colleague regularly brings us a Mr Chippy. So far everything I have had has been great. Started with a large fish and chips and mushy peas and they honestly gave so much I had to come back for seconds. Today I had an XL kebab and honestly was one of the best ones I've had in a long long time. Huge portion and was made perfectly. Shame they don't deliver tho but honestly worth the trip.

No Hygiene Certificate displayed, and how anyone can give this place 4 or more stars is beyond me. I always say never again, but keep giving them another chance, not anymore. The place looks dirty, it looks like they've put the counter together with scrap timber from the tip, and the staff clearly don't know how to cook. I've been several times over a few years and it's the same. I had a burger, they don't toast the bun, so it quickly becomes a soggy mess, the salad looks like last weeks. The chips are the worst I've ever had, they were all cripsy and dried out, like they had been reheated, I threw them all away. If you want quality..Richards Fish n Chips a few doors down is in a different class. This is an add-on from my original review, and a reply from the 'Owner' who responded, saying I was just making an excuse to give 1 star. Well some years ago, I used to be involved in hygiene inspections within the food industry, I don't give false or hateful reviews, just genuine ones. Trust me folks, this place belongs on Kitchen Nighmares.

Love this chippy. Good choice of food to choose from and good portions...very friendly staff.

Can always rely on, good service, large portions, great taste. Would never consider going anywhere else for a naughty treat, fish, burgers, kebabs and pies all exactly as you'd hope every time. Only negative is how busy they get so you sometimes have a wait, but that's not an issue proves they are doing something right

I've been here many times over the last 15years and have praised them....however I might go there a few times a year but today....what happened??? Large cod and chips I ordered, old fish and definately not large chips, more like small!!!!!! is what I got. They are aware they are good and well known, but this is not a time to slip and cheat a customer I wasted my money today and got cheated and NOT impressed.

Food is good and chips are fresh (Not refried). I haven't tried there burgers as yet but the kebabs are on point and they don't ration there portions. The waiting time can be a bit long at times but this might be due to Covid restrictions. Overall the shop and wait time is worth the visit - you won't be disappointed. We'll done guys!

Been going here since a little kid. Never found a better chippy than this place. I've tried pretty much everything on their menu not 1 bad thing about any of their food. Good prices BIG portions!! Funny and friendly staff.

Been here a few time and it has never failed to impress. Last time I went here was after the most appalling experience with a chippy at the end of our road. well worth the mile and a half to drive to get a proper portion of decent chips with good service and a reasonable price.

Prepared my order. Rider went to pick up order. Mr Chippy rang saying there was a power cut. Couldn't refund me. Couldn't cancel order and claimed there was no food despite already waiting 35minutes. Bad experience will not be using restaurant again.

The best fish & chip / Donna kebab and many other favourites in the Midlands. With over generous portions and always a smile on there faces, even though they are Turkish 😊 only kidding we don't go anywhere else for the best value takeaway dinning experience, should have more awards 👏👏👏

Whenever I fancy good chips and chicken shish to my order this place hits the spot. Good friendly staff nice food .The chicken fillet burger is also really good and the prices aren't bad either.
