Mr Chan Chinese Restaurant in Suffolk Coastal

Absolutely awful, heard bad reviews but decided to try it anyway, lemon chicken was bitter but filled with lettuce, crispy seaweed was dry as concrete, Singapore chow mein was bland and powdery, satay chicken tasted like dog food! Would not recommend and will never be going back again!!! Absolutely awful, waste of money

Portion sizes are very small, crispy shredded beef had more onion than beef and was very bland, chicken balls overcooked, struggled to find the pork in the pork fried rice! Prices are also 25% higher than their menu!! Won’t be returning.

Overpriced, overcooked small portions with hardly any meat…never again

the food is nice more veg than meat but it’s nice, the service is fairly quick and the staff are friendly but the meals are so expensive for what you receive

Worst Chinese in east Anglia, never had such bland food. Chow mein may as well be hunt the chicken piece. Greasy and over priced. Avoid like the plague.

Very tasty Chinese with great service!

Have you seen Fawlty Towers? Well we ordered and waited 25 minutes for our food, during this time we experienced a person turn up to collect, no record of order, customer explained they were asked to pick it up at 7:50 but they couldn’t find the order, customer left without food. Then someone took an order and came back 5 minutes later because it was completely wrong, at this point I thought I better check where our order was, having seen numerous people come in order and leave with their food, miraculously it wasn’t too long after this it was ready to take away. And these are the standout moments, there were others. Amazing to see such confusion and disarray, quite entertaining. The youngest girl behind the counter was doing her best and we felt for her, very kind and polite. Food was OK.

Great food, but best for takeaways.

Consistently disappointed with the food. Service always very pleasant though. It’s the only Chinese in what is a gorgeous Market Town. In my opinion, food is low end quality & small portions. It’s not awful, but unless you absolutely have to have a Chinese, and can’t travel to Wickham Market - eat something else. Opportunity missed!

Called in on Saturday night. 7.45 Only 2 people dining.the Crown and the other restaurants were all busy. Soon found out why. The temperature outside was dropping fast' after a nice day. no heating on. Staff friendly thats all. Waited ages for our drinks ...4 staff 2 customers ?. Sticky tables. Worst of all food not even average. A nice inglenook fireplace blocked off. Decor very dated. NEVER again.

I've ordered takeaways from here before and eaten in the restaurant also, but it seems something has changed and not for the better. The food was not great, expensive for the quality of food. The servers were pleasant and courteous but a little timid and lacking in experience, they were all still at school, nothing wrong with that merely mention it for completeness sake. The restaurant was freezing, I kept my coat on throughout the evening, There was not a great choice of vegetarian options available. I won't go back again and would recommend you to look elsewhere.

Food has definitely improved, but our New Year's eve order was wrong. Ended up with double the rice ordered and missing some Chow Mein & mixed Hor's D'oeuvres. We definitely placed the order correctly as it was read back to us. It was a large order for 10 and the staff were not busy so should have double checked properly. We only just started giving our local Chinese another chance. I'm afraid we will not be back in a hurry.

Always so nice. I go here every few weeks. My family has a variety of meat and vegetarian meals. So refreshing and easy. Always got and sometimes the wait can be more in busy periods but always worth the wait.

I ordered a Chinese for the time from Mr Cham and was some what apprehensive after reading the reviews. I decided to leave a review as the Chinese was fantastic, portion size were good, not too greasy, really tasty. Good value for money. It reminded of the Chinese you would order years ago, before some places turned everything fluorescent orange. I had a selection of dishes and each one was great, I’m not sure why the other reviews are like that? But I would order again and recommend it. It was ready on time for collection. A fabulous Chinese!!!! Highly recommend.

Very very good Chinese meal also customer service

For £14 for two dishes I’d expect a whole container full (only half full) as I’d normally receive in any other Chinese I’ve been too! I thought the first time this happened it was a mistake but clearly not… it’s legal daylight robbery! Plus the prawn crackers were clearly yesterdays, as the were completely soft! Too far to drive back a deal with!

We'd been disappointed by their food some years ago but having moved back to Fram we thought we'd try again. Suffice to say we'll be travelling further afield for Chinese takeaway in the future. Ribs, I might as well have chewed on my daughter's old boots. Chicken chow mein, tasteless and lacking chicken. Even something as simple as chips for my grandson were an epic fail. If it hadn't been so expensive I'd be surprised they're still trading. Seriously not good enough and won't be getting our custom again.

Not great I'm afraid, a small portion of small chicken balls, half a pot of small sweet and sour sauce, Singapore chow main was really flavourless, and to top it off the salt and pepper chips hadn't seen any pepper or chilli of any kind, but did come with plenty of onion and carrot, shame.

Food is really good however they really should update their website since they havent updated it since November 2020

Very busy. We ordered at 18:50 and was ready at 19;55 instead of 19:30.

£40 for what you see in front off you and they counted that tiny ball off batter as a chicken ball was all over cooked and seriously over priced was told 20 mins and we was waiting at least 40mins!! will never use again!! Discrasefull that places like this can get away with it

Told to pick up in 45 minutes , turned up after 30 minutes and it came straight out , only 1 mile away but when got home some of the food was only warm , food that was hot , was nice . Small portions but good value..

Had takeaway from here, waited around 25 minutes. Once home discovered an item was missing from the order. Food very average nothing special. £27 for an incomplete order. Sorry wouldn't use again.

Reasonably priced Chinese restaurant serving decent food. A limited buffet menu is available. Service is good.

Great family restaurant lovely food but im abit annoyed at the fact they are closed for nearly month (1st April-24th April) being on of the only takeaways around edible enough it's not acceptable a business being closed that long with no reason as to why

Food was ok but not amazing. Disgusted that they charge adult prices for 12 year olds without checking age at point of ordering or explaining that they would charge an adult price when we placed the order. Will not use again.

Food ok bit tasteless.Food Could be warmer . Decoration Needs a refresh . Also plugged in electric heaters everywhere as heating not working.

Normally good. Went in with as a group as normal and service was slow and portions not to there regular size. Hopefully next time it will be back to normal

Live in Debenham and had a take out. Very poor. Food cold by the time I got home. All the serving 3/4 full. Will be going back to Haleston to the Kam moon a half an hour drive away but at least the food is hot when I get home and delicious. Shame when this one is only 10 mins away
