Great everyone was so attentive and super nice. The staff helped us all through the meal cleaning and asking how it was. So nice and kind it was very nice and relaxed.

There is so much to choose from different cuisines. We really enjoyed freshly made doshas with the accompaniments. Probably best to decide which cuisine you want. We didn’t manage a dessert but will do next time. The staff were welcoming and helpful too.

We had a lovely meal at Mr Basrai’s this evening. The buffet set up is great, there is a very wide range of food. The Indian and Chinese specialities are particularly good. There are spots where they will cook to order including dosas and teppanyaki. The staff are also really friendly and helpful if you need a bit of guidance!

During our recent trip from London to Edinburgh, my cousins and I had the pleasure of dining at Mr. Basrai’s World Cuisine, and it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. The journey was undoubtedly worth it, as we were treated to a remarkable culinary adventure. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted by an exceptionally welcoming front house team. Special mention goes to Dhvani, whose outstanding service and warm demeanor added a special touch to our evening. The food at Mr. Basrai’s is nothing short of extraordinary. Every dish we sampled was a testament to their culinary excellence. The lamb chops were succulent, the beef steak perfectly cooked, and the prawn fry a delightful burst of flavors. The squid and calamari were impeccably fresh, and the salmon was simply exquisite. The dumplings, too, were a standout, adding an extra layer of delight to our meal. The desserts were the perfect finale to our feast. Each sweet treat was a masterpiece, leaving us thoroughly impressed and satisfied. Mr. Basrai’s World Cuisine offers an unparalleled dining experience that is well worth the journey. We left with full hearts and even fuller stomachs, eager to return for another memorable meal.

When I googled this place, I expected something different than it is, not in a bad way, but it's different than others buffets. Rules are simple, order a drink and you can start eating. There's things I loved, there's things they were okay and there were things that I didn't like, but it's personal preference. They will fill you up, huge chunks of meat beautifully done, their dragon chicken and garlic ginger lamb hits the spot. Also desserts, they just lovely. For 21£ plus drink is worth a shot. The place has a climate or family bar than restaurants but some people might like it, some of them might find it weird

Worst place ever i visited in my life and i admit i made a mistake will never recommend to anyone to visit there for food. Absolutely worst place worst food and i curse myself for that. The food was not even fresh and it was not even having a taste and the meat was old not even fresh which disgusted me

Mega selection of starters, mains and desserts. Fresh taco, pasta, dosage and teriyaki all made to order. 20.99 for adults on Sunday lunchtime. Drinks and cocktails reasonably priced. Really nice inside.

They don't put enough effort in when it is quiet the same food just sits out congealing. I went for some carvery roast beef ( on the evening sitting) and it looked like it had been out since lunchtime. It was so dried out I couldn't cut it. And I didn't bother with the gravy as it was congealing. A lot of the other curries and Chinese dishes were like this.

I originally took my daughter and her classmates to a lunch buffet for a birthday party tomorrow, so last week I called to book a reservation. I was told that at 19:30 tonight, I suddenly received a call from the staff who would not be able to greet the 10 of us before 15:00 tomorrow. I Explain to him how it is possible that unch will call me tomorrow and ask me to go there after 15:00. There are six families involved. How can it be arranged like this without any apology and no compensation at all? They just want to pass the responsibility to the customers. , finally after several arguments, they arranged for us to go at 12:00, but told us to leave at 13:00. How could I accept such an unreasonable arrangement? It is inexplicable and unacceptable. Please think carefully if you want to go. , I will only feel full of anger at any time.

5 stars in all aspects. Don't know why some people have criticised the place. Food is good. Variety is huge. Staffs are friendly. The owner a great person. Would recommend all to try

Visited restaurant with my family. Good choice of salads. Poor choice of main courses. Most of the dishes very spicy and hot. Steak was horrible. Waste of money for restaurant. Shef cooked thin piece of meat 5 min. Need more training. Shef who prepered sea food highly professional. Dishes very tasty and prepared properly. Will visit again occasionally

Not the best but not the worst food. Me and my partner maybe would’ve stayed longer but we couldn’t stand the Rihanna for much longer. Either the staff are very big fan or the only CD they have available is Rihanna’s greatest hits. Unlike Rihanna, please DO stop the music.

Food was cold, food quality was very poor and tasted so cheap. Don’t think me or my family ate a plate full between us. Avoid avoid avoid!!!!

Very good choice, only a couple of let downs firstly no hot chocolate in the chocolate fountain only a cold chocolate sauce no strawberrys either to dip in, and the roast beef was very chewy, but on a plus side the garlic pizza and sweet and sour chicken were great.

Maybe hit it on a bad day, but the choice of food was limited, and it was not your usual choice. There was no mention if food was hot spicy 🌶 or not. So was a hit and miss to try stuff not good if you have kids. I will go back again some time and give it one last chance next time will go earlier as was rushing to see a film next door.

Me and my partner visited here a few weeks ago, the food was amazing and they had so many options to chose from. the price was extremely good for the amount off food chioces they have and the free drink refills. i would 100% recommend a visit.

On our final night in Edinburgh me and my wife thought we would treat ourselves to a buffet after getting ripped off with prices everywhere. At the end we wondered why we didn't come here every night for our food. It's a world cousine so everything won't take your fancy but had everything we enjoyed and the food tasted fantastic. It had variety of options with all the food tasting fresh. I thought the service was fantastic with the waiters constantly checking on us and topping our drinks. Overall well worth a visit if your in Edinburgh. Great bang for your buck.

Me and my family absolutely loved this place, i have visited similar place in Manchester but this was above my expectation. Lots of option to have and they taste good as well. Very very polite and friendly staff. A must go to place in Edinburgh.

The quality and variety of the food was spot on. If you are in Edinburgh and craving for some good desi food, the buffet here has a perfect mix of south asian and global cusine. The ambiance was quite comfortable and a family friendly environment. Highly recommended and it's worth every penny.

We have had an excellent experience from the moment we entered. The service we received the beginning was superb. The fabulous Ishwar escorted us to our preferred choice of table, introduced us to Mr Basrai's as first time visitors and was happy to make recommendations on things to try, especially those that we may not have been familiar with (all of which we found delighful!) Excellent service, range of foods to try and would definitely return and recommend

While the idea of a buffet can be appealing, our recent visit to this place was a major disappointment. 1) Cleanliness Concerns :  The biggest concern was the overall hygiene of the restaurant.  ( Especially the chefs at the live counter). This created a very off-putting atmosphere and made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. 2) Food Quality Fumbles:  Unfortunately, the food quality did little to redeem the experience. The taste was equally underwhelming, lacking freshness and flavor. While the buffet does offer a lower price point ( 20£ for adults and 10£ for kids under 10), in this case, it definitely wasn't worth the sacrifice in quality.  There are far better options available where you can enjoy a fresher, more appetizing meal for a similar price.

Great range of foods, all kept available throughout the time we were there (a Wednesday evening). My kids (15, 17 and 21) said it was the best world buffet they'd been at, and I'm inclined to agree! Great value too, lovely clean toilets and helpful but not intrusive staff.

Really liked this place. We came to have lunch and the options to eat were pretty solid. As a “all you can eat” the food is not top notch but their Indian isle was particularly good. I also tried their sushi and chicken wings. They truly have a bit of everything (hence the name of the restaurant) and the variety made the walk here totally worth it.

Amazing...So many different cuisines from India and others. All amazing. We really enjoyed like anything. The taste is very good and authentic.

Hands down, this place hosts one of the BEST international buffets in the whole of UK. Be it Chinese, Indian or Continental, each of their dishes are spot on. Plenty of variety, you will never fall short of options to choose from. QUALITY not compromised on. Absolutely loved the ambience and the overall vibe of the place. The staff is extremely courteous. Would highly recommend anyone in Edinburgh to visit this place! 🌟

The variety of food is good but non of the things taste's well. Everything's average in taste, some of them are even below average! After this experience, I don't think I will visit again.

Mash is way to runny they could have more on selection for food the beef tasted weird and so did the meatballs I wont be recommending them to any one says on a sign out side one price and I worked it out when I paid for it turned out to be alot more and a soft drink couldn't be that much

We have visited the blackpool restaurant several time's while in holiday so decided to try the Edinburgh one and it was awful food was cold and my partner bit into piece if chicken that was raw there was also not a huge option of food like the blackpool they have alot if options for all kinds if food chinese,indian,pizza etc the Edinburgh one didn't have as much option i understand its a smaller premises but there was mainly Indian/spicy food and the carvery area had all the veg,Yorkshire puddings etc but no meat available wasn't a huge choice for children to choose from and also only a very small selection of deserts

Food as always is amazing and a vast variety on offer. Very impressed with the cheese naan and masala chips. My son loves the sushi and chicken wings. Can wait for our next visit, the staff are always cheery, polite and there when needed.

Mixed experience, every time we visit there seems to be a missing dish. But definitely worth the money and taste wise all seems to be same.

Don't expect the buffet to be top notch.Their is quite a lot of variety of food. The food isn't the tastiest. The ambiance is ok. For the price you pay it's a really good value for money.

Wasn't very good, 4 of us gave it a try and it's mainly Indian food. However, the chicken was chewy and had fatty bits in it, pizza was the best thing there. wouldn't return

Very average place. Would say not bad selection of dishes but all beef and pork dishes Ive tried were rubbery and chewy, chicken dishes were dry. Bit noisy with loud music. Definitely not as good as cosmo or benjin banquet. Staff were friendly.

This place is so much fun. This is our first visit but we'd definitely come back. The food is great, the staff are so lovely, it's great value. My 6yo is having the best time.

Fantastic range of well cooked food. The freshly cooked stalls were excellent, the steak was cooked perfectly. The staff were all very friendly and happy to look after a cake for our sons birthday. We will definitely be going back.

Good variety of choice with this price range, personally I like: salad bar (beetroot, apple, olives etc.), the curry lamb, and a variety of small portion cakes, not too sweet but of different taste and texture. Ice cream was not of my taste. In general, very good.

Came along for a birthday celebration. The kids were well catered for. The selection allowed the kids try new meal choices. Definitely value for money, although you could make a pig of yourself if you want to.

I have tried both branches in edinburgh and in Blackpool and can safely say that mr basrai is the most disgusting and over rated buffet in the entire UK.the food is bearly edible and virtually none of the hot food is actually hot. Nothing is cooked well,the selection is awful,everything tastes strange. the hot food isn't even at the right temperature so one can easily get food poisoning. The taps in the toilets weren't even working properly!. To make things worse,you have to pay at the counter before you are even seated.staff bearly understand or speak a word of English and are not friendly at all. Seriously,save yourself the stress and money and avoid this place like the plague. Unless of course you like terrible food and rip off prices. This place should be renamed mr embasraiment! All the good reviews must be fake for this place!

Mr Basrai’s restaurant is located in Fountain Park inside the cinema complex at the top of the escalators. Beyond the glass doors lies rows of chafing dishes and cooking stations easily accommodating over 250 covers. This place is a Willy Wonka’s Wonderland for fussy eaters or those that just want a bite of everything! But please be careful, don’t waste food as you will be charged. On approach to the buffet, you’ll find the kids section - chicken nuggets, pizza, pasta, ice cream and cakes. Past the first row and the enticing aroma of exotic spices fill the air, drawing you closer to the array of chafing dishes that hold a tantalising selection of Indian and Chinese cuisine. The vibrant colours of the dishes beckon, from the rich golden hues of butter chicken and creamy tikka masala to the deep, savoury russets of spicy Kung-pao Chicken and aromatic Dragon Chicken. Each dish is tasty with flavour and presentation, with tender pieces of tandoori chicken glistening in the light and plump dumplings ready for eating. From Roast Duck and pancakes to chilli mussels, from sushi to pork belly and cheese burgers, this place has you covered. But its their chargrill, noodle bar and dosa stations that got me excited. Mini octopus, prawns, salmon and cuttlefish are all ready in wait for the chargrill, along with lamb chops, steaks and peri-peri chicken. The chargrill imparts that gorgeous smoky flavour and the chefs certainly know how to cook using it. The Dosa station is fascinating to watch. A ladleful of thin fermented batter made from rice and lentils is spread in a circular motion across the flattop and cooked until the edges turn crispy. Whilst is slowly cooks through, chef adds masala, a spiced potato filling (spices usually include mustard, cumin, onions, green chillies, tumeric, curry leaves) to the flattop too, to warm through. Once the pancake is almost ready, the masala is spread across the pancake which is the folded over and served hot with coconut chutney and sambar. Delicious but be mindful of the spice! The noodle station, is also a spectacle with the air sizzling and flames spilling out of the work. Get ready for some great wok action. Chef really knows how to handle the wok and the ladle as he swiftly tosses the vibrant medley of colourful vegetables, chicken and noodles, that I have chosen, into the searing wok. The flamboyant display of culinary mastery is great to watch, as the ingredients dance and mingle in perfect harmony. Within minutes, a steaming mound of fragrant stir-fry is expertly plated before me and this time I run back to my table to devour this dish. As always, eyes are bigger than my belly which means there’s a smidgeon of space remaining for a bite or five from the desserts. We decide to share rather than waste and we come back with oreo cheesecake, brownie, gulab jamun and ice cream. The chocolate fountain, jellies, ice cream, pannacotta, crumble and so much more will have to wait until my next visit. Sometimes you just need to be presented with an exceptional amount of food so that you can pick and choose your way around the globe. Enjoy a little bit of this and a wee bit of that. Mr Basrai’s world Cuisine is a great place for large groups who all have different tastes and a mixture of ages. Their pricing is exceptionally reasonable with dinner throughout the week £19.99, kids eat half price and children under 3, eat for free. Cold drinks are unlimited too - so fill your glasses five times with Fanta! The food here is tasty; a feast for the senses, offering a symphony of aromas, textures, and tastes and for under £20 for dinner and around £15 for lunch for eat as much as you want - bargain in my book! Mr Basrai's is was my go to place for a while. It had a good variety of food for a buffet. The food was fresh and it was quite tasty. There is a different selection like Indian, Asian, Chinese, etc. But I tried the sushi but it wasn't that good, that was the one thing which didn't seem fresh. Other than that everything was good. The atmosphere is good, clean plates and cutlery and you get a discount with your Blue light card as well which is a plus point. All in all it is a good place to have some food at a very reasonable price.

Great food with wide selection of freshly prepared piping hot buffet. Kids eat free in January which was great as they were still on holiday. Reasonably priced considering you can eat as much as you like - including puddings. Large restaurant but perfectly comfortable. Remember to get your parking validated and get it free !!

Most of the food was spicy, well for me anyway.. It was ok! Nothing special, nothing like our usual place in Edinburgh, Cosmo's. Only couldn't go as was fully booked. Nearly everything was spicy, most things were horrible food, Desserts were rank besides like 1 or 2, and I love prawns, didn't even have those on there own or with another dish, they were mixed with baby octopus ffs!! Disgusting and typical🤢🙄🙄

Decent food quality but sometimes lacking in the freshness, I believe it's due to not being too busy and have a large consume. The choice is not huge but enough to find something you like. Other chains offer more worldwide cuisine options. Overall not too bad and good alternative
