Mr Baker's Fish & Chips in Manchester

Ordered 2 chips on barms and cheese and onion pie and chips to take out. I gave him a ten pound note and he said £14.50. I took the note back off him and walked out, What a rip off. Cost me £9 at the chippy near Farm foods. First and last time for me.

Good meal at a reasonable price with a reasonable atmosphere. Will definitely use again in the near future. Fish and chips cooked to order.

Rough Wythenshawe cafe fitting the stereotype of poor non existent customer service or manners from staff whilst food being frozen and deep fried Fits the stereotype of a cafe in a deprived area It's not horrible and it's decent but it is what it is - ID go it's not awful but it's not where you'll meet the one either

My lamb kebab was very tasty. The others at my table were satisfied with their fish and chips. Great food, low wait times, would come again.

Big portions, chicken kebab meat and chips, wrap, salad with garlic mayo and chilli dip. Saving some for dinner tomorrow because can’t finish it all in one go. £10.95 so can’t complain.

First time I've been and was amazed by the food and that there's alot of carers and there clients there and the staff are amazing with them taking time to listen to there orders. I will be coming hear alot from now on this is a must go the food is fantastic.

How can one miss an English breakfast when in England. Luckily, Mr. Baker & Chips didn't disappoint! Tucked away with a charming view of the busy roads, this little gem offered a breakfast that was both hearty and delicious. The star of the show was definitely the fluffy eggs, cooked perfectly – not dry, not runny, just right. They were joined by a medley of roasted vegetables – tomatoes bursting with flavor, perfectly sautéed mushrooms, and chunky baked beans. The highlight? Crispy hash browns that were golden and addictive. They included a generous portion of halloumi cheese, which was beautifully grilled and added a lovely salty touch. No English breakfast is complete without a proper cuppa. I opted for a hot chocolate, and it was pure comfort in a mug. Rich, creamy, and oh-so-satisfying, it was the perfect way to wash down the delicious breakfast. There was a little confusion about the order but it was sorted out later. Overall, Mr. Baker & Chips gets a big thumbs up. The food was fresh, flavorful, and filling, and the hot chocolate hit the spot.

I came here after going to the hospital and it’s a lovely little chip shop with outdoor and indoor seating. I would recommend getting fish and chips as the quality is brilliant and it’s a good size portion. Staff are really nice as well.

What a great find, had some fantastic fish and chips here. Not often you find a chippy with better quality than your own home chippy. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.

I tried Mr. Beker’s for the first time today, and it was good! The Turkish lamb and chicken doner kebabs were tasty, and they served a decent portion. The fries and salad were a nice combination. I also appreciated the friendly staff and owner.

Breakfast delivery took ages to be delivered food was cold soggy and burnt won’t be ordering again.

Took an hour and 15 mins to deliver & when the food arrived it was Luke warm. The fish batter was soggy and tasted of old cooking oil. The peas had a sharp tangy taste and you could stand your spoon up in the gravy! This is my first and last time of ordering here. I think I deserve a refund for the poor quality of food and the slow delivery service I received. I did ring up half an hour after placing my order to be told it was ready and would be with me shortly! 50 mins later it was delivered! I appreciate it was Friday evening but my wait time was unacceptable.

Loved the staff very friendly young lady served us but the food was very over priced and not the best quality some chips were raw and not the larges portion. Gravy was good can't comment on the curry as when we got home we descoverd they forgot to put it on😱

What a lovely warm and welcoming place! We're always looking for somewhere nearby for lunch to accommodate my 1 year old and for some reason hadn't given this place a try until yesterday! Staff were so accommodating. Customised a dish for my son and was such a kind gentleman! Mum had fish and chips and said it was the best she'd had in a long time 🥰☺️. Will definitely be back!

Disappointing delivery again. Obviously microwaved rag pudding, resulting in darkened, rubbery pastry and clumped meat inside. Tried to ring to rectify, but I have been trying for over half an hour and nobody is answering the phone. Don't have time to stop now. This is after delivery last week was wrong and delivery the week before the portions were meagre. Has been a weekly order of around £50

Walked in to this miserable place to get a quick bite to eat. The man stood there stirring the chips in the fryer for a few minutes, there was only me in the shop and he was stood right in front of me and didn’t look up or say anything to me. After a few minutes of being ignored I walked out. Disgusting customer service. Glad I didn’t eat there anyway as the place smelt weird.

Such a shame. Used to go here a lot. Just had fish chips and barm with a drink. £12.70. Not cheap and should have realised things had changed when the fryer was off. Chips were clearly cooked hours ago and rock hard and disgusting. The fish I ate but it didn't come from the fryer so I assume it was microwaved or warmed up from earlier. I left the chips.I know times are tough atm but this is why when you treat yourself it should he a enjoyable experience. Fish was so small it feels like you been conned. I used to recommend the place now I be telling pp to avoid. Needs to close. Only good thing was there wad a nice breeze as it was empty and they had the doors open. Should have seen that as a warning sign.

Family night, all looking forward to a chippy. Opted for this takeaway, as the other local one only does steak and kidney puddings (gross). Ordered two portions of fish and chips, 2 x rag puddings (steak and onion), 2 large chips, and various sides of curry, peas and gravy. Ordered finally arrived. Very disappointed when they sent us steak and kidney puddings. That meant two of us weren’t going to be eating. They also forgot various tubs of gravy and gave us curry sauce instead. Instead of contacting us like any normal person would to make us aware, giving us the opportunity to change our order, they just sent whatever they had accompanied by a note saying ‘no rag no gravy’ 😂 Nice one. 2 people ate, 2 people had to wait another hour for the Indian that was ordered instead. Won’t be ordering from here again for delivery. 3 stars is generous considering the inconvenience they caused.

Nicest chips ever. And the battered halloumi was amazing. And I am a particular eater, especially with battered halloumi and this place was the best battered halloumi. Friendly and welcoming staff. Nice to sit in there. One criticism would be the radio was rather loud. But will certainly be coming back.

Shame they don’t have their own delivery service because Uber eats charges just under £7 for delivery and service fee so for what reason I won’t get a delivery again but definitely go inside when in the area! Chips weren't great but the chicken burger was okay. However, the cutlery came out with bits of food caked on them still.

To start with.. price on the menu was different than at the tills. I've realised I've paid more when I've seen the receipt. When asked staff I've been told that prices changed, but they are not updated on the menu - which I find very miss leading. I've waited for a baguette with chips and salad for 40 minutes. People that came after me ate and left while I was still waiting. Person I came with finished his food by the time I recieved my plate. Menus were very used, stained and sticky. Would never come back again, Avoid.

Food wasn't bad, prices are horrendous. If you want to pay almost 9 pound for 2 portions of chips and a pie this is the place for you ! me an my daughter came in to eat and and during our food a little girl threw up all over the tables and floor. Slightly off putting after that, so we didn't even finish our food off and left.

I had lunch here after seeing that they did Authentic Turkish Kebabs , first off they didn't have any lamb which was a disappointing but the chicken kebab with rice and side salad plus two sauces was excellent . Knocked a star off for the price , a little expensive at £10.00

Clean and presentable building, plenty of space to sit and eat indoors. Food was cooked to order so there was a little wait but it was fine as you know the fish and chips were fresh.

Choice of food good,clean and staff friendly

Best place by far around here to get some food,tea and coffee service is a bit strange as they put sugar in for you. If you see it empty don't let that put you off like it did me at 1st.

I visited Bakers for a Lunch dine in. The taste is so good. Very courteous at the place. I will recommend this place for lunch and snack. I will again come to this place.

Amazing Turkish breakfast and very good service. Generous portions and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit and also I have to mention about SAHLEP ( sahlab ) what a taste. Sahlep is a national hot beverage of Turkey made of orchid and goat milk, very popular to drink during winter months.

Our second delivery from Mr Bakers. 10/10 very happy. The food was delicious, real lamb kebabs, homemade sauces, fresh crispy salads, presented lovely. I will be ordering from here again.

Very poor undercooked food. Chips were rubbish and very undercooked as was a pie I had. My wife's fish was horrendous and very very undercooked. Never again will set foot in the place. A complete waste of money.

Always very nice food. Its worth the extra cost for the quality of the food and portion sizes. Probably my favourite local cafe. You'll not be disappointed. Just be open to paying that extra quid or 2!!
