Called in today for a quick bite to eat & left empty handed. The customer in front said he'd been waiting 25min for his order (not sure if this was true so I hung on), only two staff that I could see & both seemed very busy. Shop looked very sparce, only a small selection of pastries (pies, pasties etc.), on display & no sandwiches. I waited 8min then gave up & went to the butchers opposite for a pie... Maybe I caught them at a bad time (11:30am), poor customer service not to speak to people waiting though...

Years ago, I went to Mr Baker upon someone's recommendation for bread buns. I was not disappointed! But convenience shamefully overruled my habits, and I still got my baked goods from supermarkets. Recently, I purchased a bubble gum "to go" cake, made by Mr Baker, from my local shop for my son. He absolutely loved the flavour and colour. Lately I've been regularly passing through the front street of Birtley, so I made the effort to park up and go to their outlet. Of the twice I've been recently, I've left with copious amounts of "to go" cakes, as those things taste great when you want a "sweet fix". They come in lidded containers, so they're easily stacked and stored! There's a couple of sweet toothed fiends in my house, so they're there as a sweet treat if they're ever fancied. I also left armed with sausage filled buns. Absolutely tasty! My household love them! The times I've been in the shop, the place is clean and tidy and the service is pleasant. I shall be returning!

Just had quiche large round from Mr bakers it was stuck to tray when I tried to take it out it was black underneath there was no filling it was disgrace for value won't be going there again sorry

Purchased a turkey salad in tortilla wrap. It was all very nice but please..... It would be nice if you can actually taste it. It was absolutely tasteless. Maybe a bit os seasoning would definitely not go a miss.. Or sauce and onion Would of flavoured it well instead of eating something as bland as the taste of water.

Yet another sandwich with the wrong filling... do you guys take no care around getting the simplest of things right ? My advice to customers is to take the ingredients list as being purely optimism. Damn good job I'm not allergic to anything.

I have just had the freshest tastiest Mr baker ham and salad sandwich ever, yummy, made at unit 1 old co-op building birtley, my husband had the ham & Pease pudding sandwich & he loved his 😁
