food was awful the bolognaise look like it came straight out the freezer the nachos were to soggy and the chicken was pink in the curry i would like a refund immediately!

order delayed by 45 minutes due to supposed heavy traffic when there are 4 different routes to my home and there was very little traffic on the road plus when it came it was cold

Ordered a special garlic bread with cheese. The donner meat was cold. Garlic bread luke warm and not any garlic I could taste on it but plenty of cheese. That said even though barely warm and barely any garlic on the garlic bread it was a decent portion, the notes my requests, the salad was mega fresh. A solid 8/10. And would buy again but probably going into the shop so you know it’s gonna be hot.

Yet again something missing from order. Will be checking order in the shop before I take it from now on.

I received a message telling me my order was ready to collect when I got there it wasn’t even cooked!

rather than ringing the number provided to say he was here, the delivery driver let himself into my home when I was putting my son down for his nap. it's very worrying that the drivers seem to think this is appropriate.

Pizza was great along with the chips. But the chicken kebab was pre-made chicken that you could buy at a supermarket not the best

Said it was open from 11am, turned up at 1pm with a very excited little girl to find it’s closed and to be told doesn’t open till 3pm. Congratulations you just lost my money. Won’t be back. Waste of fuel!

Lovely shop. Very clean, very modern with loads of screens to show upto date menus and offers. Fish and chips was spot on.

If you’re thinking about going for steak pie and chips, don’t bother.

Probably the worst chipshop in the area hadn't been for 8 months as swore I'd never go back, but was starving and couldn't be bothered to go elsewhere what a mistake, cold mince pie, chips like mush and warm at best, no description of the so called curry sauce, don't waste your money

Used Maguires for years but it's 50/50 on what you are going to get food wise. The chips are sometimes amazing, well cooked and lovely, othertimes there are a lot of green, grey and mushy chips. If the chips were consistently well cooked and contained less green and black chips or picked out pre-cooking phase rating would go up. Pizzas from here are very nice and tasty and would recommend those. The ladies that work in here are friendly and always happy to help. Ordered food to take out and was instantly charged for a carrier bag with being asked.

Standard chippy. Nothing really special about this place and the food is average and what you’d expect from a chippy. Menu is huge and plenty to choose from and there are loads of drinks to choose from as well. I got chips and curry sauce for £4.40. Chips were okay but the curry sauce wasn’t great. Quite watery and it tasted tangy and fruity, overall not the best curry sauce. Portion size was quite large.

Would have scored higher had they delivered what I ordered. I asked for 2 12” pizzas and 1 10” pizza. What o got was 2 10” and 1 12”.

We used to order from here every couple of weeks, but recently we've been finding more and more black chips. This order was worse than ever and half my wife's plate was rotten. Sadly won't be returning.

For a chip shop it can't cook chips just jad chips nd curry and half the chips weren't cooked properly they were not nice

food was absolutely awful the chicken curry and chips went straight in bin the smell from it smelt off fish and chips were terrible chips were all scabby fish was black bits inside batter was all soggy I've never had issues with here before till now I won't be ordering again

I would not consider the cod fish I received was any way a large portion I would deem it as small,or small to medium, which is not what I paid £15 for.

Hot food as always.. Top quality.. Only complaint is the cheese cake slice was tiny for £2.99. I would expect far bigger slice for the price.

I had heard alot of good things about this chippy I was in the area visiting another attraction and came across it, the staff are wonderful, the prices are good, the food top marks, will visit again, highly recommend it

Not sure what’s happened with the ‘large’ haddock.. Have been a customer since 2013, but the fish portion recently is much, much smaller with a higher proportion of batter instead.

Called in on Good Friday for our fish and chips. A bit of a queue as you'd expect but didn't take too long to get served. Lovely food and friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place, good food good staff, what more could a person ask for!. Open all the time now (that's if you're not a idiot), that is calling too late. It's good but not able to count on it being open!. Sat 11 November 2023. Just had fish and chips!, the food of the gods. I only get it once a month and its always fantastic, when I'm in Whickham and in Swalwell on a Sat night it's on my mind the whole day. A pint of good beer from 'Ower the road' and fish and chips from Maguires!.👍 Sat 6th April 2024.- Again fantastic food, can't beat it, best in the area!.

I pairs 7 pound for a cheesy chip wrap because I added extra chips and cheese and it was tiny and skinnier than my wrist absolute joke

Tried to order two pizzas first person who answered didn’t know what an anchovy was? Then when I spoke to the next person they tried to charge me double what it should have been. This is the second time they have tried to overcharge. I will not give them another chance. If you are wanting pizza in Whickham use Mondo’s at Swalwell they have great deals and are honest and trustworthy.
