Lovely shop. Very clean, very modern with loads of screens to show upto date menus and offers. Fish and chips was spot on.

Perfect milkshake. Good quality milk and flawless milk-Kinder ratio. Highly recommend, can not recommend enough. Couldn’t wait u get home to drink it.

Sugar and Sprinkle desserts were delicious, staff lovely too.

If you’re thinking about going for steak pie and chips, don’t bother.

Probably the worst chipshop in the area hadn't been for 8 months as swore I'd never go back, but was starving and couldn't be bothered to go elsewhere what a mistake, cold mince pie, chips like mush and warm at best, no description of the so called curry sauce, don't waste your money

Used Maguires for years but it's 50/50 on what you are going to get food wise. The chips are sometimes amazing, well cooked and lovely, othertimes there are a lot of green, grey and mushy chips. If the chips were consistently well cooked and contained less green and black chips or picked out pre-cooking phase rating would go up. Pizzas from here are very nice and tasty and would recommend those. The ladies that work in here are friendly and always happy to help. Ordered food to take out and was instantly charged for a carrier bag with being asked.

Standard chippy. Nothing really special about this place and the food is average and what you’d expect from a chippy. Menu is huge and plenty to choose from and there are loads of drinks to choose from as well. I got chips and curry sauce for £4.40. Chips were okay but the curry sauce wasn’t great. Quite watery and it tasted tangy and fruity, overall not the best curry sauce. Portion size was quite large.

Would have scored higher had they delivered what I ordered. I asked for 2 12” pizzas and 1 10” pizza. What o got was 2 10” and 1 12”.

We used to order from here every couple of weeks, but recently we've been finding more and more black chips. This order was worse than ever and half my wife's plate was rotten. Sadly won't be returning.

For a chip shop it can't cook chips just jad chips nd curry and half the chips weren't cooked properly they were not nice

food was absolutely awful the chicken curry and chips went straight in bin the smell from it smelt off fish and chips were terrible chips were all scabby fish was black bits inside batter was all soggy I've never had issues with here before till now I won't be ordering again

I would not consider the cod fish I received was any way a large portion I would deem it as small,or small to medium, which is not what I paid £15 for.

Hot food as always.. Top quality.. Only complaint is the cheese cake slice was tiny for £2.99. I would expect far bigger slice for the price.

I had heard alot of good things about this chippy I was in the area visiting another attraction and came across it, the staff are wonderful, the prices are good, the food top marks, will visit again, highly recommend it

Not sure what’s happened with the ‘large’ haddock.. Have been a customer since 2013, but the fish portion recently is much, much smaller with a higher proportion of batter instead.

Called in on Good Friday for our fish and chips. A bit of a queue as you'd expect but didn't take too long to get served. Lovely food and friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommended.

It's good but not able to count on it being open!. Sat 11 November 2023. Just had fish and chips!, the food of the gods. I only get it once a month and its always fantastic, when I'm in Whickham and in Swalwell on a Sat night it's on my mind the whole day. A pint of good beer from 'Ower the road' and fish and chips from Maguires!.👍 Sat 6th April 2024.- Again fantastic food, can't beat it, best in the area!.

Tried to order two pizzas first person who answered didn’t know what an anchovy was? Then when I spoke to the next person they tried to charge me double what it should have been. This is the second time they have tried to overcharge. I will not give them another chance. If you are wanting pizza in Whickham use Mondo’s at Swalwell they have great deals and are honest and trustworthy.

They don’t listen to their customers i asked for salt and vinegar with batter on my kebab butty but got none not good enough every time something always goes wrong with the order.

Not sure what has happened to this chippy as used to be the best around. It is absolutely terrible now! The worst food i have ever tasted. Small Portion. Barely cooked chips that were mostly bad. Birds got the lot! And super expensive! Wont ever be back. AVOID

As always, Maguires delivers! Even though I’m not exactly close to the shop the food was delivered on time and still hot. My ‘go to’ for fish and chips, pizzas and chicken.

Tiny portion for the "Large chips", chips were green and tasteless (ended up leaving them), the salad was ok but portion was small as well. the Pizza was lovely

First time I was left disappointed from maguires. It’s local so usually arrives quick but this time it was late. Food arrived quite soggy including the fish and chips due to the length they’d been in the container. at least some of the items were hot, unfortunately the hot item was the soft drink which was the incorrect one. Delivery driver also didn’t read instructions so struggled to find the place. A big shame as usually the place is great

I'll NOT be back!! Have been going here for years, but last time, the fish was OFF, binned most of it but still had stomach upset afterwards. Reply to Maguires; When l got home, 5 mins drive, with my fish and chips and started eating them l found that, as I've posted, the fish was off! ie going bad, and although l only ate a small part of it suffered an upset stomach for a day or two

Chips had loads of dark bits on them, kids wouldn’t eat them.

It was late,but the owner telephoned me,to inform me that would be the case.Which was ok with me.

My chips were overcooked and my mince pie was very very dry or out of date. All went in the bin just wasted ,£20 quid

10/10 for delivery! Lovely chap who delivered our food with a smile. Unfortunately I can’t give the food 10/10 as the chips were stale and chicken on the kebab was average at best, more like little chicken chunks you’d find in a pre packed snack pot. Salad and donner meat decent so overall I would give 5/10.

absolutely rank got chips and curry waiting for ages for it to come and when i heard the knock at the door i thought champion here comes the scran but when i opened the bag of chips i could smell sweaty pits and tasted disgusting

Ordered chicken tikka pizza ,chichen was not chicken tikka! Ordered large chips ....it a small chips at other takeaways! chilli garlic bread was lush had a kic kbut needs bit more cheese on . value for money very poor, quality of pizza good. quality and quantity of chips is a let down. Considering the price is higher than more local takeaways, plus you get 2x amount for same price. would have ordered a garlic dip but I refuse to pay 40p for a bought in tiny tubs tub(that are disgusting)

Won’t be ordering again, chicken hard and chewy with no flavour, chips inedible and salad was cut an inch thick, chicken kebabs were not good at all. Will go else we’re waste of money

The sheer patience this lady had with us (on a Mon eve) when we pointed out not to be too sure about our portion size for the chips! She showed us the different options so we were able to decide. Didn't have to wait long and could see how efficient the team worked together.
