We try to get fish and chips from there every week.

The best chippy in the North East! After moving from Leeds, it has taken a good two years to find a chippy like this one. I usually get the battered sausage and chips and my partner loves the fish and the tartar sauce. Just amazing.

Beats the competition by a mile. Delicious!

Chips very greasy and more scraps than chips .not alot of flavor and smelt like old persons home .smoked sausage ok but really everything lack of flavor ... and order was wrong and took a while standing outside waiting for it .definitely not worth the ride or cost .....

Lovely fresh fish and chips, been a few times and it deserves the recognition. Staff were very polite and got my food served fast as I had to be away.

The best fish and chips in the area hands down; the fish is always lovely and white, the chips are crispy and fresh - not like most other places I've been to where you get all those hardened shards, the chip offcuts that aren't even worth eating Their homemade Tartare sauce is nice too, really light and refreshing taste

Possibly the best fish and chips I've ever had.

Chips tasted old as if they had been reheated and were lukewarm. Batter soggy and greasy. Mushy peas awful. Nearly £13 per portion which mostly went in the bin. I must have hit on a bad day.

Just picked up fish and chips from The Whickham Fish kitchen and they were amazing. Quality fish freshly cooked which was huge and tasted amazing and the chips were equally as good and plenty of them too. Definitely one of the best in the area for quality and quality. It’s a must if you like your Fish and Chips !!

The best cod and chips I’ve had in such a long while. There chips are most but not soggy…but the fish melts in the mouth! The tartare sauce is incredible too!!

Came here after reading good reviews. Sorry to say the reviews are good probably because the chippys close by are so bad. Fish looked nothing like their photos, was swimming in grease, really thin and as well as being tasteless, we found some bones. The batter tasted as if too much flour had been used. Chips were pale and slightly undercooked and looked like they were pre-cooked catering chips. Gave 2 stars as my son loved the cod bites. Such a shame as the presentation and the shop itself was really nice.

Fantastic Food. Everything is freshly cooked as you wait. The staff are brilliant and will bring food out to your vehicle too. I have been a long-time customer since they first opened and most certainly the best fish and chip shop in the area. Very good value for money.

I went off fish & Chips for a few years, I just found them very greasy and left a nasty aftertaste. Then a friend of mine said to try the Fish Kitchen in Whickham, Wow what an amazing difference, they must use totally different fat or something but I have been back a few times now and they are consistently good. Also, the staff are really friendly and will bring your order out to your car if you want. Keep up the good work.

Had fish and chips last night, definitely the best fish and chips I’ve had in years, the home made tartar sauce is really tasty aswell and included with every fish you buy, if you want good quality food, get yourself to whickham fish kitchen, you won’t be disappointed.

Nice food but overpriced compared to other local fish shop had fish and chips which were nice but not that much better than the other local fish shop to warrant the large price difference.

Food was good, large fish loads of chips but, I must admit I've had better and slightly less greasy. They had also ran out of child portions of fish and therefore had to pay full price for a meal obviously too large for a child. Over all, would go again

A pot of garlic sauce is included with the fish and chips. My husband hates garlic (which seems an odd accompaniment to fish) . If it was tartare sauce I would have given 5 stars for food.

Used to have to drive to coast for decent fish and chips, Whickham Fish Kitchen is now the best around. Food is always cooked fresh when ordered and tastes amazing, never had any issues! The girls behind the counter always working extremely hard even when its boiling hot and busy, always have a smile on their faces. Amazing food, amazing service, keep up the great work!

Always enjoyed fish and chips here in the past but I paid just under £40 for 4 portions of fish and chips on good Friday and only received 3 fish (though 4 portions of chips complete with tartare sauce and lemon). Tried numerous times to contact them and they've just ignored me. Definitely wouldn't recommend now

Ever since whickham fish kitchen opened they've sold the best ever fish and chips in whickham itself. The staff are warm and friendly and are very helpful. They'll put your order up as you like it. And will always put the customers first. Their home made tartar sauce is to die for same as their home made fish cakes.

Watch out for the Premium Cod trick. Ordered the standard Fish & Chips x 2 with Chicken nuggets and chips as they had run out of cod bites. Charged £19.20, stated I was overcharged, then told because you’ve got the premium cod, but I didn’t order it, informed that there was no standard cod left. Thought I should have been told that. Not impressed with the service at 4pm. Interesting to see what’s left nearer to the advertised 6pm closing time. Won’t be returning.

Used to be the best but no more. Chips were dry and fish was very greasy, the batter was just crumbs on top, left a horrible greasy taste in mouth.
