Moura in Cardiff

Popped in for lunch with a friend for the first time today . Great varied selection from the set menu- chose the onion soup and whitebait for first course and minute steak and pork sandwich for mains . All of the food was delicious , obviously home made and clearly made to order - and very reasonably priced . All staff were very friendly and attentive . Would highly recommend Moura and plan to go back on one of the wine tasting nights we heard about . Really impressed by this friendly little restaurant- do give it a try .

We were invited to the Italian wine tasting at Mora by friends of ours who live in the area and are so glad we accepted the invite. The meals were properly sized and none of this "tiny portions for lots of money" stuff. Loved the Tuscan seafood stew the most, but the rest of the menu was outstanding. I had been in for coffee before but had no idea they catered like this. The in-house Sommelier (yes they have their own wine specialist) was fabulous. She talked about each wine and how it paired with each meal (the chef also spoke about the meals and where they came from). The experience was right up there with some of the best. At the end of the evening the Chef came out to get feedback on the experience and mentioned that they do regular tastings and will be focusing on France next. He also said he was the only chef in the kitchen which left me speechless as the restaurant was packed. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Amazing meal here with my daughter. Very friendly service and fresh tasty meals. Highly recommend. French onion soup was delicious as was the club sandwich. My daughter had the steak and really enjoyed this

Had a lovely lunch with friends. The wild mushroom risotto was absolutely lovely. My friend had the chicken salad & she enjoyed it. Great and friendly service. Will definitely return

A credit to Caitlin and Francis who certainly put in the hours. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My wife and I have tried them all and have been pleasantly surprised with every meal. A warm and friendly atmosphere with efficient service and good quality food, what more can you ask for. Thank you Caitlin and Francis, see you soon.

Wonderful, tasty breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere with very attentive staff. This restaurant manages to retain a relaxed comfortable feel whilst also providing top quality food. The Wicked Vintner wines are available to purchase, really interesting choices and expert advice on hand from Caitlin. Thank you for such a lovely experience. Highly recommended.

Laurence and I came to eat tonight, and Caitlin and Francis were very accommodating, as my train was delayed. So to the menu: I had, honestly, the best battered calamari I have ever eaten; lightest, crunchy batter and tender calamari. My main course was beef short ribs and, again, the meat was tender and unctuous - just wonderful! Laurence's pork was equally good. Chocolate mousse finished the meal perfectly. Honestly, people, this is a very special restaurant and the most skilled cooking. We would highly recommend Maura to anyone who enjoys excellent food and hospitality.

The cafe is bright and open which is nice. Good choice of food and drink. Sausage sandwich was ok. It didn’t seem the best quality or a local meat which I prefer but hey ho. Cooking time felt quite long considering the number of guests. Staff are friendly. Could be cleaner on floors and toilet.

Attended this restaurant as a party of 9 for Sunday lunch. We received a very warm welcome for our first visit , which hopefully will be the first of many. The food was delicious and the service exemplary. I should also point out that it was excellent value for money. We shall no doubt return before too long.

Went for a South African wine tasting event. 6 wines plus 5 courses of food. We both came away agreeing it was excellent value, the food and wines great and would happily return.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening comprising a tasting of 6 full glasses of South African wines accompanied by a 5-course meal. Great value for the price paid per head. The evening was compered by the friendly restaurant owners radiating warmth and sharing details on each wine and dish. A 10% discount was also given for buying 6 bottles. We have previously enjoyed Sunday lunch bookable in advance, also excellent value with a home-cooked style of cuisine and generous portion sizes. There is also a dedicated wine shop at the back of the restaurant. Moura is a stand out neighbourhood restaurant.

If it had not been for the number 61 Cardiff bus passing by the window I could have imagined my steak frites had been served in Paris. Wife and I had a wonderful meal with a brilliant Spanish wine from a proper family owned company at a reasonable price. Friendly and attentive staff - bad luck Eurostar, Waungrove Road has it cracked. We will return.....

We are visitors to Cardiff and we met fellow travelers and family from all over the world at moura for the Sunday lunch. The food was good. Nice selection of good wines and beer. Very relaxed atmosphere where we could relax and chat. We had a 3 hour lunch

Excellent food and wines and friendly staff. Minute steak was perfectly cooked. September offer was very generous and gave us 25% off. Also a great place for lunch (burger recommended!) Or just a coffee and snack !

I came in for a simple cup of coffee today and was pleasantly surprised at how good the coffee was. The service was pleasant and accommodating. I'll definitely be back for something to eat as the menu looked fantastic. Great first impression. Well done!

The food here has to be up there with some of the worst food I’ve ever been served. Window dressed in is faux finery this establishment should go back to school when it comes to every aspect of its output. Taste this overpriced slum at...

Popped in on the off-chance but in future it will be on purpose! We had a really excellent late breakfast here, helpfully served til 1.30. My husband said his cooked breakfast was the best he'd had for several years. Even the tomato! Staff were lovely...

New cafe serving excellent quality, flavoursome food. I had eggs benedict and my mother had the small breakfast which, at 96, wasn't actually that small but she ate the lot. As did I. Friendly service, spotlessly clean.
