This was a really good old-school locals pub that I’ve been using for over 30 years, and it still could be, but they’ve taken away the very last low-level comfy seating with tables in front of them, to make room for a pool table. Bad decision; it’s dragged your score well down.

We were staying nearby in the Ibis Hotel and called here for a drink. It was a nice enough pub with a juke box (don't see them much these days) and wasn't too busy. We had a couple of drinks but didn't eat.

We only had a couple of drinks here as we were staying across the road at the Ibis. It was ok - juke box was a novelty - and it seemed to have regulars in there. Wasn't our choice of somewhere to eat though

Absolutely amazing pub, staff very polite and chatty, made us all feel very welcome. We was only meant to be meeting up here and then going into the city centre but ended up staying all night. We all had a great night (karaoke was a bonus) well maybe not for the other customers that had to listen to us ruin a few songs haha We’re already arranging another catch up and will definitely be meeting up at The Mount again. Brilliant night 👌

On any trip to York I take I always look forward to visiting The Mount Pub. This is a great pub,the interior is superb,an island style serving bar dominates the main room, great decor and furnishings,tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub all housed in a wonderful looking building. We were here on a Thursday night, pub was busy,a nice atmosphere ,we were greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the bar team,we ordered Carling lager ,these were served in excellent condition ,we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. Carling lager is not my usual tipple, more a real ale fan myself but the lager was cold, sparkling and bursting with taste, very easy to drink ,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a freezing cold beer. We really enjoyed our beers in here ,only stayed for the one each before we moved on and as on every previous visit to here we had a great time. The Mount Pub is easy to locate along Blossom Street. Opening hours are; Monday to saturday, open from 11am. Sunday, open from midday. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Excellent pub, we unwittingly ordered 2 steaks meals and a bottle of white wine without realising it was on a promotion deal...nice surprise when we received the final bill. We loved the cheese board and I loved the Leeds Leodis beer. Staff were excellent and a great friendly atmosphere. Revisited in November 2024 on a Sunday evening and still excellent, friendly pub with amazing food. Just love this pub, wish I had it near my home. Love the Leodis pilsner....just wish I could get it in bottles😥

Wonderful food, and lovely people, this is the second time we have eaten here, delicious flavoursome food, great crispy belly pork and duck, and steamed buns. Looking forward to our next visit!.

We called in on the day of the Yorkshire Marathon and although it was busy we got a seat and ordered. We got a coffee for my wife and a Victoria 99 cupcake for my 6 year old daughter. She really enjoyed it and my wife said the coffee was lovely too. The staff were very welcoming and polite but all in all really nice and we will definitely be back.

We went into the Ivy not knowing anything about it but it looked inviting from the outside and it was cold and rainy and an awful weather-wise day. How pleasantly surprised we were. It seemed to be snooty and stuffy but wasn't. Beautiful atmosphere and the food was delicious. My friend had the 1917 Menu of starter and main: Salmon Rillette with avocado, salad and rye bread and main of Shepherds' Pie. I had a starter of roasted scallops with creamed spinach and potato puffs. The cost: no more than what you would've paid in a neighborhood cafe. And the rose colored ladies' bathroom is beautiful!
