Mount Pleasant hotel Trecynon in Rhondda Cynon Taf

A lovely hotel/restaurant with excellent food and very pleasant service. Unfortunately, my experience was spoiled after overhearing how the owner spoke to a very busy member of staff, who had been highly attentive. Not only was it unfair to her, but very uncomfortable for onlookers.

We have never been disappointed with our meals in all the time we have been going to the Mount Pleasant. The staff are friendly and obliging; there is a good choice on the menu, including vegetarian, and food is served hot.

Delicious sunday lunch...there were 10 of us..food was served hot and quickly with plenty for all. The beef was melt in the mouth..would definitley reccommend

Very pleasant staff, good food selection, served hot, with vegetarian options. Have dined here mid week in the past and the menu is varied and delicious. First time to try Sunday lunch. Choice of roasts ( including vegetarian) with boiled and roast potatoes, 5 veg ( peas, carrots, cabbage, swede, roast parsnip) plus yorkshire pudding and stuffing. Smaller portions also available ( e.g. for children or those with smaller appetite). All in all good value for money.

Our group of 33 people had food here on black fri (20/12/19) beautiful food..all served together,the best home made chunky chips,I had chicken curry..loads of chicken, really nice meal,reasonably priced and a nice pint of Coors to top it off..staff very friendly and we had a warm welcome. Will defo go there again.

As it's my local, we've been eating here for many years now and it's our favourite pub for a Sunday dinner. Great value, great tasting dinner, and plenty of it - always a quick and smooth service too. The beef is always melt in your mouth delicious and the food well cooked. If ever you fancy a nice Sunday roast, then I highly recommend booking a table here.

Well where do I start. Firstly the so called hotel was not busy and even though I booked in advance I was given a tiny little box room. The hotel is not well situated regarding food etc and the hotel served food on selected days only. The hotel apparently provide free WiFi but unfortunately I was unable to take advantage of this maybe due to being situated in what I can only imagine is the attic of the property. No breakfast is available which for myself is a must whilst working away from home. Overall I would rate this hotel at a 2/10.

Stopped off for a quick pint. Pool table and jukebox with friendly staff and a good pint. What else do you need. There was a restaurant side but I didn’t have food - smelt like good food though.

Came here with family for Sunday lunch and it’s one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The staff were friendly and the service was second to none. Definitely recommend

Best Sunday dinner around. Nice place and people are friendly. Will go back with the family to dine there midweek.

Visited with husband and friends. 3 had rump and 1 had gammon. Perfectly cooked. Homemade chips perfect. Homemade onion rings perfect. Puddings were delicous. Will be back for more.

Enjoyed a lush meal. Hunters chicken was beautiful. Our friends first ever visit to Wales from Sheffield and they loved it! Loved the lamb shank! Staff are so friendly. Can't wait to go back!!

Booked two family rooms here very good, rooms spacious, one was on suite. Very clean. Only one blip found it hard to get the shower temperature right. Would definitely visit again when in the area.

Called for a meal early evening, warm welcome friendly service, and super food. We will return soon .well done mount pleasant.

Excellent home made food with a good choice I had corned beef pie, chips & gravy. Reasonably priced. welcoming staff .

Good bar. Limited food (not serving when we were there but good reports from those I spoke to). Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Very good price too. Easy access to Brecon Beacons if you are into that sort of thing. 20 odd miles from Cardiff.

Went today for Sunday dinner with my husband ,lovely dinner ,service very quick and staff very pleasant would recommend highly

Came here last week with the family and we were not disappointed! Four of us had curry from the specials and one had the steak which was cooked to perfection! The curry was tasty but not too spicy! Just right! For the value you can not go wrong! Definitely recommend!!

Twelve of us had a meal here for one of the party's 50th Birthday. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. I had a Chicken Korma (Specials Board) which really tasted as though it had been cooked from fresh ingredients and with passion. Would thoroughly recommend the meals here and will definitely be returning.

Family arranged a surprise meal for our daughter.mealscwere all lovely and served up quickly by lovely staff.

We stayed there for a night, after a long hiking at Brecon national park, its a nice value for money hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, parking on streets., rooms are located above the bar but no noises off disturbances...

I travel a lot around UK with work and stay a lot of places, but this is best value I have ever found. Very clean, good facilities, and the staff unbelievably welcoming and friendly. JUST THE BEST!!'

Received a lovely welcome when we arrived, we stayed in the flat above the pub which was spotless and very spacious would highly recommend , we had an evening meal on the day we arrived and breakfast the next morning which was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Had a birthday meal with family , no complaints meals were correct and presented lovely , the girl who served us was attentive and knowledgeable on the food. All in all good experience . One other note "chips to die for " !!!
