Great food from Roti Shack, and service was fab. Only downside was a group of drunk, loud men who would have been fine in a Wetherspoons but in such a small venue where people are chilling and waiting for food on a Saturday evening it was just too much. The bar staff were great though in trying to deal with them even when they spilt beer over another customer. Nevertheless, it’s lovely little place and we will definitely be back

Absolutely marvellous a first class experience and the best break fast ever , I lived in llantisant 40 years ago, came back to visit as my old school was ypant , now in Portsmouth, this place is the best 👌 👍 ever seen in my life 😀

Ordering food was a chore as the signal to connect to the online ordering system is poor. Then we discovered that the menu is limited to burgers and waffle fries in takeaway cartons. This wasn't what we were expecting given the photos of the types of dishes they serve on their webpage. Our wine and beer also weren't great, but I must give credit to their cocktails. So all in all, I'd only recommend if you were looking for a trip for decent cocktails. Edit: the cafe's response suggests that I should have done my research about the food before coming which I did, hence my issue. I booked a week in advance given their popularity and I based it on the photos on their website. How was I to know they would have a different menu? I don't appreciate blaming me as the customer.

Honestly? The best brunch I have ever had❤️I live in Somerset and was visiting my daughter. Brilliant service, excellent value. The BEST coffee. The food was sublime. We will be back. A hidden gem xx

Lovely brunch here. Ordered the vegan avocado on toast and vegan chocolate cruffin (I was intrigued as to what it was... so good!). Delicious. Great coffee. It was packed which was a good sign. Lovely decor and vibe inside. Female blonde member of staff could be friendlier. I cleared my table for them after we'd eaten as I could see they were busy, but she didn't crack a smile or seem at all grateful. Will be back for the food and coffee though for sure!

Went there for gluten free brownies for my daughter. The staff are very friendly would definitely go there for a drink and food

First time visiting and we were super happy with our experience! Service was fast and everyone there was happy to help. Food was brilliant and you can tell how popular it was as tables were full by the time we had our drinks. Highly recommend!

Went to the thirsty elephant for brunch today,my granddaughter had a lovely full English breakfast,I had a lovely glass of wine and my daughter had a oat latte,well impressed with the service and the politeness of the gent that took our order,will be back soon

When you find yourself waiting in line for breakfast on a Wednesday, you know you've stumbled upon a great place. Despite waiting for about 25 minutes, the experience was well worth it. The food was fresh and sourced locally, creating a delightful culinary adventure. Moreover, the ambiance of the place was pleasant, and they even welcome dogs, adding an extra touch of warmth and friendliness to the overall atmosphere.

Vegan Filth food was amazing, I hope they come back again soon.

i wanted to visit the thirsty elephant as they had a heavy social media push which caught my attention. id been wanting to go for a long time and had my eye on the full breakfast. it was very average to say the least and expensive. the house beans seemed to be a miss on a lot of peoples plate as i seen a handful of peoples plates empty with the full pot of beans. lovely decorated inside and the staff were lovely, but the food was not as nice as it looks on instagram.

The food was beautiful. However the bar was very very busy. Had to queue once to get menu ( as not on table or available to pick up on way in) and then queue again to order food. There were at least 6 to 8 people in front each time ordering cocktails and most of the time only 1 person mixing them with someone else occasionally helping if not collecting dirty glasses and taking glasses out of dish washer. It was extremely noisy due to a large group of partygoers. We’ll go again as normally great time but not that close to Christmas again !More staff were needed.

Went Saturday evening for pizza street food and it was amazing!

I was charged for a 250ml glass of wine but received a 175 glass.

First time eating there, can’t fault the food or the atmosphere

Lovely little eaterie. Full to the brim very popular. Quite small, we had to wait a little while, but the staff were reassuringly checking on us!!! The food was gorgeous ,tasty, and well presented. Definitely return.

Amazing Drinks, the coffee is the best and the pop up Pizza Evening was amazing. One of the best Pizzas ever. Friendly and polite staff as well and made for a great Date night.

What a find! Buzzy atmosphere as soon as you step in, and found a table even though it was very busy. Staff were happy and chatty, and the food was delicious. Such amazing coffee too. Can't wait to go back.

What an amazing café! The atmosphere is just wonderful, the lights make it so cosy & some tables have lots of cushions, it’s so comfortable! The choice of food is just amazing. I got the eggs & steak for brunch, it was INSANE. I will totally be going back here!

The staff member in charge of allocating tables was doing a fantastic job under extremely busy conditions! I think they would benefit from going to table service to reduce foot traffic through the cafe. Food was incredible! Music a bit loud. Our food didn't all arrive at the same time, about 10-15 minutes delay between the first and last served! But it was really delicious, and staff were working very hard.

An absolute gem. Very busy but there's a reason for that...it's absolutely fantastic. Every dish was full of high quality, fresh ingredients. The coffee was delightful and the staff were great. A must visit if you're looking for places in South Wales.

My wife’ experience was very disappointing with luke warm coffee. Bruschetta lacking in flavour and ingredients (garlic, onions) and bread should have been toasted. However my smashed avocado and egg was superb.

They have got everything right here. The venue is decorated well, the staff are so, so lovely and the food is great. We have been here for brunch several times. The traditional breakfast is good, with the sausages being really good quality. The steak and eggs are gorgeous, and the coffee is pretty good also

Lovely little place featuring some amazing food from guest businesses. Very dog friendly and the tables are well spaced out, there's a nice vibe. The staff seemed a little rude and disinterested most of the time but it was hot and very busy so this can be overlooked. Would definitely return!

Attended the keralan pop up food night, the food was amazing , the beer was spot on as well, special mention to the two young girls serving behind the bar who were pleasant courteous and helpful, they are a credit to the establishment

Visited this place after wanting to try it for some time as I’d heard good reports. Lovely atmosphere and great staff. I ordered eggs benny and the hollandaise sauce was horrid. Dark brown in colour with a tangy and spicy taste, really not good. The bacon was absolutely nuked that it almost disintegrated when cut/snapped into. I also had a slice of coffee and walnut cake to go and but unfortunately it was really stale. The base was so dry I couldn’t even cut it with a dessert fork - went straight in the bin. Very disappointing.

We love going to the thirsty elephant for a lovely cocktail and some food at the end of a long week. Staff are always very helpful and the pop up kitchens are amazing. Food this weekend was fantastic and so tasty! We had a great time thank you. We'll be back!

Superb modern food venue with excellent, freshly cooked food and great service! We called in for Sunday brunch and had Eggs Benny and Berry Pancakes, wirh an orange juice and a tumeric latte; both meals were delicious. I'll definitely be going back.

We visited on a Saturday morning, found a table straight away even though it got busy very quick. Staff were very friendly. Food was amazing and a nice coffee too. This cafe had such a lovely atmosphere. Also, easy free parking nearby.

Really nice cafe located next to Llantrisant shopping centre. Great coffee and food. The 'Eggs Benny' was such a nice breakfast and was very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

Another superb evening at TTE. Friendly, efficient staff and a welcoming ambiance. Thursday Street Food Takeover on this occasion was Keralan Karavan - Indian street food at its best...we had 3 absolutely gorgeous dishes (Raj Burger, Rickshaw Rodeo Ribs and Sexy Masala Fries)

Really good coffee at a reasonable price (compared to starbucks/costa). On road parking outside limited to 30 min before 5pm however so may need to park further away and walk. Wide range of alcoholic drinks and interesting food (didn't get any so can't comment on taste)

We love it here and have turned into regulars on their Thursday pop ups. Service is always great, the atmosphere lively but not so much you can't hold a conversation and feel overcrowded, and food is always delicious. Highly recommend.

Wife had a friend visit so we came here for Sunday brunch. Absolutely delicious, the fried chicken and waffles were incredible - as was the maple syrup with a fiery kick. Would absolutely recommend. Very lucky to have a place like this so local to us.

I regularly go to the Thirsty Elephant as it’s local to me. The service is great, the staff are always very welcoming and there is a fantastic range of food and drink options available all the time. The best coffee shop and bar in Pontyclun, couldn’t recommend it enough!
