Plenty of EV chargers so thank you however the toilets were filthy. Complete lack of cleanliness from floors to toilets. Moto you should be ashamed. Visited today at 10.30 am. You need to get a manager to review this area as it needs a deep clean.

Thanks moto Exeter my Nan wanted to buy a burger and when she saw £12 for one she jumped behind the counter and two footed the chef steaming “ HAVE IT” and she is never aloud back . My Nan is now 95 and in a wheelchair pleas can she return

Exeter, a large Moto site at the end of the M5 (also serving A30 traffic). All M5 services experience rapid custom increases during the summer holiday period, however, Exeter serves more routes towards Cornwall from London & the South East, so it becomes rather chaotic during the summer. Its large building, enriched with facilities, means the site copes fairly well during busy times. Exeter was opened by Granada in 1978, & has come a long way since opening. Exeter is a single site located on junction 30 at Sowton. Exeter is an offline site, meaning customers wishing to use the facility have to leave the M5 and join the busy J30 junction. Exeter is slightly easier to get to from the Northbound side of the M5, but both directions are complex & difficult. You can sit in up to 8 sets of traffic lights to access Exeter services, making accessing the site extremely unsatisfying for motorists. Petrol at Exeter is provided by BP, and as per usual with motorway services forecourts, petrol & diesel are both rapidly inflated in price. I'd advise you to fill up off the motorway. The forecourt itself just contains a small, 24 hour shop. There is a Travelodge motel at Exeter, offering motorists an overnight stay if required. Motels are always useful. This Travelodge may not be the nicest place to stay, but it’s fairly cheap. There used to be a Bar & Grill restaurant in the lobby of Travelodge, but it has since permanently closed. There are plenty of parking spaces at Exeter for: cars, caravans, coaches and HGVs. Additionally, there many Electric Vehicle charging points available here, provided by Gridserve and Tesla Supercharger. There isn't a huge amount of greenspace surrounding Exeter services as it's built within an industrial estate, however, there is a fairly large grass bank beside the amenity building entrance, ideal for both dog walking and picnics during the summer. The amenity building itself at Exeter appears clean & welcoming for customers. The "back areas" are tidy & there's plenty of brand advertisements around. The amenity building has changed significantly since 2016, as the location of the entrance is completely different & the building is now dark grey, with Moto's new corporate branding on display. Entering the amenity building, it does feel somewhat like a maze, with long corridors taking you past all the food units & shops before reaching the toilets. Otherwise, the interior of Exeter is bright, clean & modern. Food units at Exeter include: Burger King, KFC, Greggs, Pret A Manger, West Cornwall Pasty (kiosk outside), Krispy Kreme donuts (kiosk outside), Costa lounge, Costa takeaway and Chow Asian kitchen. I visited Chow, where I got a Chicken Katsu curry for £8.50. Quite pricy, but no complaints on the food. Plenty of food to choose from here. I like the wide array of choice and different kinds of cuisine on offer. There is plenty of shared customer seating at Exeter & a large amenity building, meaning it can cater for larger crowds. Fortunately, my visit was during the night and the place was nice and quiet! Shops at Exeter include an M&S Simply Food (with M&S Coffee to go) and a WHSmith (supplying Costa Express, F'real milkshakes and Tango Ice Blast). Both shops are very handy. There are also &Play gaming arcades at Exeter. The toilet facilities are next to WHSmith and include: 1 Changing Places facility, 1 ordinary Disabled WC (both are RADAR locked) and 1 large parent & baby facility, with changing tables. I only used the gents WCs. The toilets were fully renovated in 2022 and are certainly much nicer now. They weren't the cleanest & maintenance seemed to be slipping, but at least the toilets themselves flush ordinarily now (before they had "close lid to flush" pans which always seemed to not be working). There are around 11 cubicles and 11-13 urinals, so there is plenty of everything. Overall, not a bad pitstop this. Might be horrid during the summer, but I found Exeter to be a nice services with plenty of food to choose from, decent toilets and a nice, modern feel. I would use it again.

Shower and toilet always clean- very pleasing

We arrived at Moto Exeter Services and was greeted by a wonderful person in KAZ. At around 10.00 am after drive from Cornwall we thought to go to our favourite stop MOTO. We on our way to Milton Keynes so we found a bench to sit down and enjoy our sausage rolls. I’m a very colourful person and as I dress up I all the time a friendly person in KAZ came up to us and had a conversation with us four and loved my autism outfit I wearing. A very clean place at moto with super service, great to feel welcome and lots of smiles. I recommend MOTO to all and again thanks again KAZ with a nice pleasant approach to us all.

Good place for a pitstop and choice of places to eat at.

Seating area filthy. In the 45 mins we were here didn’t see any attendants cleaning. I tried to clean the table with napkins and antibac but the dispenser was empty. The only reason it got 3 stars was because of the large number of EV chargers. Toilets were ok.

I got a parking ticket for being on the slots to long what a joke not going back

Excellent Mway services, very clean with good choice of food & drink options, my favourite is the Cornish pastie cabin just outside the main entrance.! 🙂

Good service station that caters to all your needs. Even had a stand selling matching hats, scarfs and gloves at a reasonable price.

Very busy, and toilet facilities very limited for number of visitors Restaurant selection varied as you'd expect. The prices were as most motorway services are, high!

Today I experienced really bad conditions in the male toilets at Exeter Service Station.

Pretty much Everything closed but then it was boxing day. Toilets smelt disgusting.

The services were very useful as a comfort break but the food from Burger King was terrible value and we will not be stopping there again.

Someone had blocked all of the toilets in the men’s and I was desperate to use them. Then no soaps in the dispensers.. then the staff at the KFC were practically useless. I had ordered using the app to the wrong store and no one offered any help so I gave up and went to Greggs and the lady there was really good.

This place has really gone downhill over the last year with regards to cleanliness/hygiene. Men's toilets are constantly blocked and smell terrible all the time. Went in today and out of the roughly 12 toilets, 9 were blocked. Rest of the place is dirty and outdated.

Good parking, has everything you need for long-distance travel. It is possible to pay via Snap, pay an additional £3 and receive a voucher for £10. On weekdays after 18:00 there is no place

Only used the toilets, not clean

Unpleasant toilets. They overflow in the summer and make an unbearable smell. The M&S has great sandwiches. Best place to charge a car for miles.

£30 for 24hrs HGV parking and what they provide in return is a not secure parking area and a shower which smelt heavily of stale urine and had a good inch of water on the floor. Utterly disgusting.

The food is OK after 6pm never a parking space for lorry The shower is low pressure due to a burst pipe now on place for more then 3 months for a job worth 2000 pounds management is not doing nothing.. Instead we pay for parking 33 pounds..

One of the better services around yes it’s small but does the job the coach park is literally door to door but the pavement is very low so hard for elderly to disembark coach and lorry’s think they can fill this coach park up and no one at moto cares to move them on so gets dangerous for manoeuvring out and the out lane is on an angle so you can’t see what’s coming but big car park and on site fuel but they will not authorise pumps unless you leave payment cards with them first so very untrustworthy place makes it annoying for lorry and coach drivers having to go in and out repeatedly and also such a stupid location that if two large vehicles are waiting for pumps it blocks the entire road for everyone trying to exit stupid planning As for inside toilets are always busy and not the cleanest but decent enough and the shops are all good but staff in some are demoralised Location wise your practically in Exeter industrial estate and right on motorway and all road to Cornwall and Devon are close by also a travelodge within walking distance but not on site

Lack of products available and staff attitude need improving. Ask for bacon and sausage baguette. Get an abrupt no bacon, then no baguette.

Use it as a pick up/ Drop off point for my Grandson when he comes to stay.But we always have lunch there as its such a nice service station.

The toilets in this service station are always disgusting ... Multiple toilets blocked and overflowing with the resulting mess all over the floor.

Very unpleasant layout long walk to the toilets, badly thought out, busy car park, nowhere safe to walk the dog. Only got 2* because you can get cornish pasties

One ladies toilet closed - fine- but another full of faeces and smelling foul. Cleaning cart nearby, so why hadn't it been tackled? Third toilet also stank, from the plastic sanitary bin that was full of old menstrual products. Disgusting! And NO cash accepted in the two shops we used. Fume! Many people, including me prefer cash, and what happens when the banking apps go down, as they so frequently do!

The worst coffee and service iv ever experienced. My white coffee wasn't and totally undrinkable. Asked staff if something could be done " that's what you ordered" bought a far nicer coffee at M&S. I'm done with Greggs!

A standard service station all the usual food outlets. It has also increased its electric charging points substantially.

Just stopped for something to eat, purchased food from Asian outlet, the seating area opposite was in a dirty mess the tables were sticky with food on the floor & the moveable wooden chairs with fabric cover were filthy enough that I would not sit on them. The ladies toilets had remnants of toilet paper in nearly all the cubicles, it makes you wonder how often these areas are cleaned. Our visit was from 18.30-19.00 I did mention the lack of hygiene to a helpful shop assistant in W.H. Smiths who said they would pass my comments on .

Very accommodating, plenty of choice to suit all tastes.

Usually stop here for a break. There's no slip road, you have to leave the motorway and negotiate busy junctions. Really need your wits about you and observe lane markings as it's easy to get in the wrong lane for the services. Lots of EV charging points.

tbh it actually is quite functional; most things shut early, but what is left is drinkable/eatable, and there are enough loos so that at least some will be working. If they make the place look a little more welcoming, I'll add another star next time!

Appalling!! The car park is like a building site due to installation of EV charging points, also very poor signage. Inside is the usual selection of service station unhealthy food options. Whilst the women's toilets were ok ish, the men's smelt like a sewer! 😔 One of the worst stop off points we have been to. Will avoid on the future.

Just visited these services for a toilet stop 3.20pm Friday 18th. They were disgusting toilets smelt toilets blocked and toilet paper running out. I would suggest they be checked atleast every hour due to the heavy usage of customers.

Usual motorway services, reasonable selection of food on offer.

Quick rest stop and toilet break. Had fun with the roads signs to initially get in there, generally clean and very busy.

Coming to this services on the weekend before the school holidays ends really sets in what a downward spiral the human race is on. Just put the loos by the door so I can get in, get out asap without having to wade through the hordes queuing for overpriced fast food. Update: Turns out it's just as bad when it's quiet too.

Car park ok but that's it, horrible disgusting smelly toilets, Burger King never have any hot drinks, KFC is never open, Not tried the Noodle bar, and probably the most expensive food and fuel in the UK, had to queue 40 minuets to get out of the services, not going back ever.

Great choice of food outlets, M&S simply food, news shop, clean toilet facilities, fuel station. Ample parking.

We always stop here because of the EV chargers and it’ll be great when the new ones are finished. However inside the services the place is looking shabby with worn out, scruffy furniture. Come on Moto spend some money there. I expect your reply will not include a plan for such improvements.

Fair range of services, but for a motorway service area at a complex and busy junction the signage to find it is abysmal.

I popped in late one evening, so some of the stores were shut. However, they were still plenty to choose from if you were hungry or just wanted a coffee. It is a big service station with a lot on offer.

Stopped for a quick bite to eat, and was totally disappointed with the cleanliness of the seating area, it was disgraceful, I will not visit this service area again

Dirty disgusting service, toilets always covered with bags or blocked, glass doors at entrance heavily soiled with dirty finger prints. Dining areas dirty, bins overflowing, torn seating. Place needs new management as they must be blind to the state of this place.

Chows asian kitchen clearly has a severe problem and is a major health risk. Quick action is required. Me and my partner both ate there today and now have terrible food poisoning, a little digging online, and this is a scarily common occurrence. All in Moto Exeter Services. I am contacting the local authority and Food safety standards.

Good facilities. No signs advising that if you've broken down, one can go to the WH Smiths shop to register your car so that you do not have to pay the parking fee of £15 after 2 hours.

Good signage. East parking. Plenty of choice. Fuel still 20p per litre more than elsewhere! Needs to change!

Large motorway service station on the outskirts of Exeter just off the M5. Large selection of retailers including Greggs, W H Smith, McDonalds and Preto. Toilets were clean and tidy on my visit. Very large car park.

Without a doubt the most disgusting services I've stopped at, I do 2000 miles every week so I've been to plenty! Exeter services were in state of disarray, it had a old fusty smell & the seating area was awful, I wouldn't have let my dog sit on them. Sort it out Moto 😞

Good place for a piss and a break

Dirty Men and Women toilets absolutely STINK !! 🤢

We thought the entrance from the northbound m5 confusing. The car park was also confusing especially finding the location of disabled parking bays. The building as extremely noisy and uninviting. The exit back on to the M5 was extremely conjectrd and took 20 minutes before we could exit even though there was no congestion on the motorway. Altogether a thoroughly unpleasant experience and we shall try to avoid visiting in the future.

Nice enough services, hard to get to if going north bound, toilets clean. Burger king Chinese KFC and Greg's. It's nice enough for a quick stop
