Good service station. Lots of food options, nice outdoor area, tonnes of EV charging

You have to walk along way though the shops and cafes to get to the toilets. This is a pain when you are disabled.

Driving from London to Falmouth and stopped off to charge my ID.7 Tourer at Gridserve which was very convenient and lots of charging points. Lots of fast food restaurants inside as well as a M&S. Outside seats area too.

Hello! Wonderful parking! Payment snap. Arrived on Thursday at 19.05 - half of the parking lot was empty... Shower, toilet, ticket for 10 pounds with a payment of 3 pounds... Showers without key exchange, hot water, clean everywhere... Safe... Light at night like day... The staff is very friendly and good-natured... There is a washing machine... Many shops within walking distance...huge selection of food...

Very poor experience. My husband is in a wheelchair and whilst the disabled parking bays are near the door, I had to push him on the roadway to find a dropped kerb. Toilets are too far from the exit, it was very busy and difficult to negotiate. Anyone with mobility problems would find it a challenging walk from the entrance. Husband said the disabled toilet was relatively clean, however, when I went in the ladies I turned around and walked straight out without using them, despite being fairly desperate. Absolutely disgusting. Filthy toilets, some completely blocked up with toilet roll and human waste and no toilet roll in ones that weren't. I appreciate it was busy, but I have never experienced facilities in such a filthy state. Definitely wouldn't stop here again.

Use regularly as a truck driver and privately. Good facilities and always clean and tidy. Will go again.

Services are crowded, toilets are disgusting, it's very difficult to walk through as a disabled person. Used to be great though.

Stopped off for coffee and something to eat on our way to and from our holiday. Great service as always

tbh it actually is quite functional; most things shut early, but what is left is drinkable/eatable, and there are enough loos so that at least some will be working. If they make the place look a little more welcoming, I'll add another star next time! Update 4/2025: passed through earlier than I usually do; during late evening there's an interesting spectator sport where it would appear the staff of the different restaurants compete to close off their seating spaces to clean the floors etc. Each has a different technique!

Shower out of use so they have put portable trailer out side , if not bad enough that us lorry drivers put up with rubbish facilities , but to have to wait for the local traveler people to have there showers takes the biscuit and even local builders , even the toilets in the main build was flooding with human waste all over the floor , well that’s ok I will just put a cone there , good work …………..

Lot of E charging points . Costa KFC Burger King and other shops are available. Toilets are clean to use. Larger car park.

Stopped here on a long solo journey from Manchester to Cornwall for fuel and a drink. A lovely member of staff called Karen chatted with me and helped with some local knowledge and directions, she really made me feel at ease which was unexpected but very welcome on such a trip :)

Positives It has both WH Smiths and M&S food to complement the fast food offerings Negatives Very busy, Not well set out in side with lack of clearly defined walk ways. Toilets should be condemned, disgusting, the smell hits you before you leave the food area. If you can AVOID.

We stopped at Exeter services for our usual stopped on the way back from Salcombe, and bumped in to the loverly Cas who gave us a huge smile and a lovely bouquet of flowers....just because she could. What a wonderful woman.

Good availability of Tesla supercharger. Good size services. Just a bit slow getting in and out from the motorway preventing 5-stars

Watch the time for parking. I got a ticket for seven minutes over.

Carol was brilliant at keeping queue for ladies looking down to no more than 4, with seconds to wait! Hope she doesn't lose her voice continuously shouting "next please" The rest of the services were a shambles!. Tatty, grubby, badly laid out forcinf everyone tound the same path regardless of where they wanted to go! It used to be su h a decent services

After reading the other reviews, avoid is place! Manager has let it go down hill. Nothing done in 3 mouths! Needs a refurbishment. Has it all, but toilets over flowing!! Hope they have fixed it by for the summer holidays!! Everyone stopps here. Cardiff, Bristol to Plymouth! A long way for uk driving. Not so long for U.S.A driving.

Mark was very helpful, I needed to buy oil for my car and didn’t know which one to get. He was very knowledgable and insightful, I directed me to the app to type in my car details, when I got stuck, unsure what size my engine was he shared his experience and came outside to my car, and was able to confirm the engine size, then explained the different oil choices I could choose. I was so blessed by his help, knowledge and kindness, he had a great way with people, nothing was too much trouble, very personable, great customer service

Every time I pop in here I am astounded how filthy everything is.

Usually quiet. Service has been good at all outlets. As I visit regularly to charge my EV I think I have tried all the food outlets. Pret has some interesting fresh food combinations and I really enjoyed the sweet and sour with rice from another outlet. Smiths has an unusual milkshake machine and don't forget if you want a takeaway coffee they have a Costa machine. This will be quicker and slightly cheaper than their outlet. Although you can't beat the drive through Costa for a quick getaway of coffee and cake.

Convenient place to take a break.

Not much atmosphere but food outlets, toilets etc. If you want an opportunity to get comfortable, have a coffee etc, have a nap, refuel or recharge your vehicle, plenty of charging points here.

Your average service station for a quick break. Toilets are fairly clean, food and coffee exactly how you'd expect in a service station.

Good place to stop, great selection of food and beverages, all the popular franchises. It's a little more expensive then on the highstreet. Plenty of parking and charging stations.

Toilets were grim. Smelt bad. Flushes were broken on multiple toilets leading to number 2s being left down the pan. Not nice.

Absolute dirty dump! Embarrassment to the UK

I’m in these services most days being an hgv passenger, and the toilets are always blocked and outrageously disgusting. You can’t sit down without the motion sensor flushing the toilets every time you move which is not a nice feeling. I feel sorry for the men that sleep in their lorry’s overnight and then go to use these facilities (showers/toilets/sinks). I dread to think what the showers are like. I could add photos but it’s not something you’d wanna see.

Great for omnivorous customers but very little food and drink provided for vegans or those with allergies to wheat, dairy or meat protein in the fast food or retail outlets. The hand driers are very noisy so much so a little child was covering their ears.

Arrived at 17:00 all places were taken. He stood behind the first tree.

£4.80 for a large lattè?! The toilets always smell, too. But where else can you stop when visiting the west from the south. Good range of takeaway foods.

Lovely pasty’s, but they were nearly out at 12:30pm! Costa was amazing and drinks were well made and tasty. Area was constantly being cleaned for new customers.

The toilets are all backed up and not flushing, the shower area is flooded, so difficult to get dry. I searched for a.member of staff to inform them, but there doesnt seem to be anyone onsite to tell. I stop out 2/3 nights p/w and this is one of the worst services I've stopped at

Typical motorway service station full of fast food outlets. Ample seating, but the interior is looking very tired.

5pm on a Tuesday, place relatively quiet and the place is filthy, floors covered and so many tables dirty and messy. Not a cleaner in sight.

Massive place, can not use the whole of the car park if you are in a high top camper, but there is Costa

Katsu Curry is lush. Carol was also helpful. Table wasn't clean on arrival and we walked in and went to the loos before sitting at it so some staff are not quite on top of things

I've been coming here for the past few weeks to charge my car given I live 10/15m down the road. Came here this morning met by a bright smile and a warm welcome from Caz, Sat down with me and the wife said how much she loves what she does and showed us the art of conversation is definitely not lost! Need a lot more person people in this day and age 10/10 🐐🚗💯

Plenty of EV chargers so thank you however the toilets were filthy. Complete lack of cleanliness from floors to toilets. Moto you should be ashamed. Visited today at 10.30 am. You need to get a manager to review this area as it needs a deep clean.

Thanks moto Exeter my Nan wanted to buy a burger and when she saw £12 for one she jumped behind the counter and two footed the chef steaming “ HAVE IT” and she is never aloud back . My Nan is now 95 and in a wheelchair pleas can she return

Exeter, a large Moto site at the end of the M5 (also serving A30 traffic). All M5 services experience rapid custom increases during the summer holiday period, however, Exeter serves more routes towards Cornwall from London & the South East, so it becomes rather chaotic during the summer. Its large building, enriched with facilities, means the site copes fairly well during busy times. Exeter was opened by Granada in 1978, & has come a long way since opening. Exeter is a single site located on junction 30 at Sowton. Exeter is an offline site, meaning customers wishing to use the facility have to leave the M5 and join the busy J30 junction. Exeter is slightly easier to get to from the Northbound side of the M5, but both directions are complex & difficult. You can sit in up to 8 sets of traffic lights to access Exeter services, making accessing the site extremely unsatisfying for motorists. Petrol at Exeter is provided by BP, and as per usual with motorway services forecourts, petrol & diesel are both rapidly inflated in price. I'd advise you to fill up off the motorway. The forecourt itself just contains a small, 24 hour shop. There is a Travelodge motel at Exeter, offering motorists an overnight stay if required. Motels are always useful. This Travelodge may not be the nicest place to stay, but it’s fairly cheap. There used to be a Bar & Grill restaurant in the lobby of Travelodge, but it has since permanently closed. There are plenty of parking spaces at Exeter for: cars, caravans, coaches and HGVs. Additionally, there many Electric Vehicle charging points available here, provided by Gridserve and Tesla Supercharger. There isn't a huge amount of greenspace surrounding Exeter services as it's built within an industrial estate, however, there is a fairly large grass bank beside the amenity building entrance, ideal for both dog walking and picnics during the summer. The amenity building itself at Exeter appears clean & welcoming for customers. The "back areas" are tidy & there's plenty of brand advertisements around. The amenity building has changed significantly since 2016, as the location of the entrance is completely different & the building is now dark grey, with Moto's new corporate branding on display. Entering the amenity building, it does feel somewhat like a maze, with long corridors taking you past all the food units & shops before reaching the toilets. Otherwise, the interior of Exeter is bright, clean & modern. Food units at Exeter include: Burger King, KFC, Greggs, Pret A Manger, West Cornwall Pasty (kiosk outside), Krispy Kreme donuts (kiosk outside), Costa lounge, Costa takeaway and Chow Asian kitchen. I visited Chow, where I got a Chicken Katsu curry for £8.50. Quite pricy, but no complaints on the food. Plenty of food to choose from here. I like the wide array of choice and different kinds of cuisine on offer. There is plenty of shared customer seating at Exeter & a large amenity building, meaning it can cater for larger crowds. Fortunately, my visit was during the night and the place was nice and quiet! Shops at Exeter include an M&S Simply Food (with M&S Coffee to go) and a WHSmith (supplying Costa Express, F'real milkshakes and Tango Ice Blast). Both shops are very handy. There are also &Play gaming arcades at Exeter. The toilet facilities are next to WHSmith and include: 1 Changing Places facility, 1 ordinary Disabled WC (both are RADAR locked) and 1 large parent & baby facility, with changing tables. I only used the gents WCs. The toilets were fully renovated in 2022 and are certainly much nicer now. They weren't the cleanest & maintenance seemed to be slipping, but at least the toilets themselves flush ordinarily now (before they had "close lid to flush" pans which always seemed to not be working). There are around 11 cubicles and 11-13 urinals, so there is plenty of everything. Overall, not a bad pitstop this. Might be horrid during the summer, but I found Exeter to be a nice services with plenty of food to choose from, decent toilets and a nice, modern feel. I would use it again.

Shower and toilet always clean- very pleasing

We arrived at Moto Exeter Services and was greeted by a wonderful person in KAZ. At around 10.00 am after drive from Cornwall we thought to go to our favourite stop MOTO. We on our way to Milton Keynes so we found a bench to sit down and enjoy our sausage rolls. I’m a very colourful person and as I dress up I all the time a friendly person in KAZ came up to us and had a conversation with us four and loved my autism outfit I wearing. A very clean place at moto with super service, great to feel welcome and lots of smiles. I recommend MOTO to all and again thanks again KAZ with a nice pleasant approach to us all.

Good place for a pitstop and choice of places to eat at.

Seating area filthy. In the 45 mins we were here didn’t see any attendants cleaning. I tried to clean the table with napkins and antibac but the dispenser was empty. The only reason it got 3 stars was because of the large number of EV chargers. Toilets were ok.

Today I experienced really bad conditions in the male toilets at Exeter Service Station.

Pretty much Everything closed but then it was boxing day. Toilets smelt disgusting.

The services were very useful as a comfort break but the food from Burger King was terrible value and we will not be stopping there again.

Someone had blocked all of the toilets in the men’s and I was desperate to use them. Then no soaps in the dispensers.. then the staff at the KFC were practically useless. I had ordered using the app to the wrong store and no one offered any help so I gave up and went to Greggs and the lady there was really good.

This place has really gone downhill over the last year with regards to cleanliness/hygiene. Men's toilets are constantly blocked and smell terrible all the time. Went in today and out of the roughly 12 toilets, 9 were blocked. Rest of the place is dirty and outdated.

Only used the toilets, not clean

Unpleasant toilets. They overflow in the summer and make an unbearable smell. The M&S has great sandwiches. Best place to charge a car for miles.

A necessary evil, not a place that you'd go if you didn't have to.
