Mother Hubbards (Baildon) in Bradford

I really enjoyed the new menu, Make sure to ask for freshly fried also for chips . The Salt and pepper chips are excellent!! Revisited again with my family. Had the 3 course lunch in the restaurant, we really enjoyed it. Donna as usual gave us excellent service and really looked after us. She's a real asset for this restaurant. Can recommend this place , it's one the best of the Mother Hubbards franchises. Will visit again... Thanks Again Donna

WARNING VERY EXPENSIVE took 15 pound couldn't even get a fish and chips

Went for food on a Sunday and it was very enjoyable experience! This was particularly due to the very friendly and helpful waitress, Donna. She made us all smile and went above and beyond! The food was also very nice and very generous portions. Would definitely recommend and go again!

2nd visit in last 2 weeks. If u could give Donna 6 stars I would. Polite amazing an service 2nd to none. Top quality food an very very generous portions. Thank you so much. Can't wait to visit again.

Went there yesterday for a meal in the restaurant and the fish and chips were lovely. The restaurant was really nice and clean inside. I ordered fish and chips with mushy peas, a pot of tea and some cans of diet coke. The lady who served me was really polite and friendly. The batter on the fish was lovely and crispy and had a lovely taste to it. The chips were cooked to perfection. I will definitely be going back if I get the chance, and I live in Chesterfield. Definitely worth a visit.

Always a great experience when visiting this branch. Donna is an amazing host, very welcoming and very polite. The food is served fresh and tastes delicious. My children enjoy the colouring packs that are given each time we pop down. Donna always goes above and beyond. Would highly recommend this branch to everyone.

We went here for a little birthday treat for my son and his school friends. Donna the waitress was very accommodating and went out of her way to try make the event special. She even went to the co op, purchased two chocolate cakes for the birthday children and brought them out for them with candles and birthday music! The food was lovely and very filling. We will definitely be back. Thank you again Donna!

Beautifully freshly cooked fish and chips. We ate inside the restaurant which was lovely and clean with a very welcoming aircon on. Our waitress Donna was extremely friendly polite and nothing was too much trouble. By far the best fish and chips around and no doubt the other food on the very good menu would be of excellent quality. Worth every penny we paid which wasn't expensive. Highly recommended.

Great food, friendly staff. It's just that feeling in your stomach, when you walk in and see the cheff in the kitchen picking his nose then flicking it across the kitchen🤮, landing pad unknown😂

The 5 star is for our waitress, Donna. What a wonderful, upbeat lady who seemed genuinely happy to serve us and accommodate us. Will definitely go back just based on our experience with her.

The fish and chips were excellent, and the service (from Donna) wonderful. A warm welcome, help with all the options, and offering to top up my teapot. She never stopped looking after everyone and everything and keeping the place spotless, even seeing people off at the door. Our first visit, and we don't go out together very often, but Mother Hubbard's may well tempt us back.

What a wonderful experience we had here. When we told them that we were Dutch tourists who came for the fish and chips, they all agreed very nicely. Highly recommended if you are in the area!

Service was great but since going when it initially opened a few times the quality has worsened. Fish very greasy and the batter is soggy. The chips are powdery and clearly very cheap. It’s alright for when you can’t be bothered to cook but it’s certainly going downhill!

I came all the way from Bradford the try this mother Hubbard out. Its was lovely meal. Fish and chips was nice Fresh. Laura, abby and the staff members were lovely. The meal was very large and grate value for money. Definitely coming again.

It's a quick meal not so cheap but quite tasty, This only a place that I would go when I'm short of time, I would much prefer home cooked fish and chips

Avoid this place at all costs! I went to this takeaway just before closing time and ordered my meal, which was supposed to come with drinks. Not only was I charged for the drinks, but I never received them. When I realized the mistake, I went back to let them know, only to find the staff already out the door, eager to leave. Instead of fixing their mistake, the so-called manager had the audacity to say, “It’s not my problem.” Excuse me? Not your problem? I paid for something and didn’t get it, and that’s somehow not your responsibility? Absolutely shocking customer service! If they’re willing to blatantly rip off customers and refuse to correct their errors, who knows what else they’re cutting corners on? Save your money and go somewhere that actually values their customers—this place clearly doesn’t.

Not sure what’s changed recently but the service in the takeaway bit is shocking 45 min wait tonight for apparently chips to be cooked. It’s a fish and chip shop!!! And then for the order to thrown on the desk and your food spill shows the stress the staff are under and the lack of customer service. Come on guys. Sort it out.

Visited the dine in restaurant with a friend. Absolutely fantastic service provided by Donna. She was polite, attentive and friendly. The food came out quickly and was very tasty. Good portion size and great value for money. Would highly recommend and will be back soon.

My 5 year old son loves to come as Donna always makes him feel really welcome and takes the time to talk to him. He can find many places overwhelming but will happily come here.

Fantastic food, was greedy and had 3 courses but even if the food wasn't that good would still go back just for the service. Donna or Kebab as we called her gave us fabulous services and conversation. I recommend to anyone it's fabulous food and service

Shocking customer service. Messed up our order last week and the Manager (plus another 3 people we spoke with) agreed to a free meal the following week as gesture of goodwill (via telephone). Now gone back on their word and refusing to admit it was ever agreed. Won’t be back, shame it’s not the old owners anymore.

I’ve just visited for the second time with my son who’s autistic and has challenging behaviour and both times the staff have made us feel very comfortable and at ease my son was able to enjoy his food without any issues. Will make this our local chippy from now on

Omg £26 for a fish butties and fish supper lmao.the chips were awful . So dry . The fish was OK. Nothing special and was all very bland . I'm still hungry and I'm a skinny girl . I defdo won't be back 😒

Went for fish&chips the chips was cold and the staff have no clue so less portion of chips the was a one girl there and a asian man there don’t go it’s not good

Awful !!! Under cooked ! Ordered fish, chips and peas twice, chips looked the same colour as raw, fish was wet! The peas were cold and tasted rank ! Got one portion, then had to wait 3 - 4 mins to get other. Threw them in the bin.

First time using baildon mother hubbards baildon .usually go to other branch in bradford and im disappointed with my food fish smelt really fishy and batter too soggy . My dog was in 2 minds to eat the fish i been poorly today 😫

I really struggle to find a decent gluten free fish, the one from here is lovely. All the food I've had here is spot on and the staff are really helpful.

Really really good fish and chips in Baildon. The fish are so fresh, and the batter recipe light, crispy and tasty. We ate in as a large party of family and friends. Donna was such a wonderful host. An 18th birthday tea for Emerson my godson. The fish and chips were sooooo good and Donna our waitress then brought Em chocolate cake and ice cream. She was kind enough to put up a birthday banner and gave us party hats. Nothing was too much trouble for her and made sure we had a fab time. Thank you Donna 😊 We will be back.

Visited for the first time with the family. Digital order system is very handy. I had the spicy fish, chips and spicy curry sauce. Absolutely awesome. Really lovely friendly staff too. Clean and modern inside. Can’t wait to return.

Very poor, second visit in two weeks at baildon outlet. Soggy and undercooked fish. Shame to see such a large investment going downhill. Many people I have spoken to in the village are of the same opinion.

The restaurant section is too expensive. The takeaway/eat-in section is better but seating is restricted to just two tables.

Having worked at Websters and having being a customer or Trawl Bar, Websters and now Mother Hubbard’s- I have to say, I’m blown away. The menu is huge, prices are fair, decor is modern and brilliantly done, they’ve opened up the shop to have a seating area, the waitress service was fast and exemplary. Most of all, the food is delicious. Freshly made, hot and gorgeous. Took my daughter today for a cheeky fish and they threw in some chips. Class. Great portions. If I could give 6 stars, I would.

Just visiting Baildon as a potential place for a house move & popped in for food & drink. Best fish & chips I’ve ever had! The whole experience was just fabulous especially so because of the superb attitude & welcoming from Donna. We called in on Friday 6th September at our great nieces request for a fish and chip lunch. We were greeted by Donna and her attention to detail and service was second to none. Our lunch was so relaxing with calming background music and Donna surprised us with a free ice cream for our great niece. Chips are kept on top of fryers in boxes rather than in the fryer. I had a cake which had minced fish in the middle rather than a slice of fish. Absolutely awful would not recommend

Recently visited this restaurant with my family, I was served by Donna and Caroline both was super attentive and looked after us and payed attention to detail.They made my dad’s birthday memorable.The food was also delicious.

Visited today for lunch.got fish and chip with a teacake and some chips for a friend. To be honest it's was horrible. The fish was like wet lettecc. Won't be coming to get robbed again. Its a shame such a big tradition name with now terrible fish and chips.

The food is good quality,it's a bit pricey but with regards to location with the moors a few steps away justified(also can imagine business rates are a lot) nice to see such an extensive menu also very clean with some nice framed photos of the region from the past eras.

I came to the new chippy in Baildon to dine last week. The waitress was very nice, chatty and very accommodating. The fish tasted great, however, I noticed that the batter was made from vegetable oil which made the fish a tad greasy, brown and slightly hard with the batter. I do think Mother Hubbard's should consider cooking the fish in beef dripping as that is the traditional way that makes the batter a nice golden brown with a nice crunchy to it! Overall the service was good.

Gosh has this place gone down hill since it was called the Trawl Bar I don’t know what happened but this used to be my local chippy till I moved away a few years ago It was always packed and for good reason They were the best fish and chips at a good price I called in as I was near the area not expecting the name change and the place looked great But it was dead and the food at best was average Service was ok but I won’t go out of my way again to eat there
